The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
John - I've owned several various Lexicon MX Series dBx processors over the years and used them for various applications. I recall when I purchased my first 'real' sound board. The evolution of sound processing is amazing - considering my first fore into sound mixing/processing was slap-back, reverb & echo with old reel-to-reel units back in the 60s - strictly for guitar playing (maybe sometimes an electric keyboard). My how times changed. As I continued playing guitar I then became a tape trader - collecting/trading soundboard tapes from various live band concerts. At one point as an undergrad I owned two Nakamichi tape decks (one dual, one single), a couple guitars, a couple amplifiers, of course record platters, etc. As you likely know, many guitarists employ some type of sound processor. I initially bought a couple off-brand units until I settled in on Lexicon MX Series processors. I'd hate to even think about diving into the innards of a modern-day dBx unit; heck, the last one I owned could store up to 50 different effects loops. What they cost today is pennies on the dollar for what they can do - it's crazy.
Eventually this system will have a receiver in front, a separates stack in back, and a quad preamp joining them. CD, SACD, Cassette, AM/FM, along with the following: (LP, R2R, 8 Track) in both stereo and quad, bluetooth, and PC hard drive for sources. On the hunt for quad R2R deck and a good DAC, then that should complete it other than more shelves and a lot of cable. An additional power conditioner.
Norm it's not that I really like to go to WM on Sundays, it's about the only time that works. Saturdays are the only days I have pretty much the whole day to do whatever. After work on the weekdays is usually just trying to keep my head above water. By going on Sunday I get my groceries for the week and don't have to worry about it. Now, if I'd get up and get there early it would be better, but there's Awful house and sometimes the airport to contend with.
Mike - I understand I really do. I’m razzing you hope you don’t take offense. Personally, I’d prefer a frontal lobotomy than a WM Sunday.
John - You’re referring to the plan for that cabinet, correct? That is awesome.
My microwave switches (only need one) arrived today, install tomorrow. Funny how I’ve grown accustomed to its usefulness.
Watching “I’m Leaving You’ (Netflix), good movie, entertaining (Jason Bateman, Chris).

If not identical, nearly the same. I've used a couple types/styles - think they were simply made by different manufacturers. Yours looks JD. At any rate, you get what you paid for; and, by this I simply mean (when compared to the plug/punch unit) the weight of the tines punch unit can be cumbersome on select soil types. IOW, not enough weight to properly punch into the soil. I seem to recall you can build or someone other than me built a platform (or there was a platform) you could add weight(s) to the unit - can't remember, Jim. The plug punch unit weighs so much more. You'll get the knack of it once you begin pulling it to see if it punches into the soil enough for your satisfaction. I currently own a simple scratch tine unit I pull behind my ZTR JD - it does not create ANY punch holes - it's a really light weight simple thatcher.
Chris - They're cruising on that foundation. I see J-Bolts (used to secure the sill plate) protruding from the tops of the walls. You'll have neighbors moving in before the concrete walls completely cure if the carpentry framers are moving at the same speed. Although at the temperatures they poured the walls the cure rate will be greatly accelerated since that ambient temperature (~25°F) will remove moisture very rapidly (accelerating the cure).
Norm I agree completely Donny has a plug punch tine sitting on his desk with a golf ball stuck on it [ pretty hard] I will be only using it on soil that has been dug up. Because we don't allow vaults after a hard rain sometimes some of the new graves sink. We add dirt and I can run over the grave and apply seeds quickly. There is also a shelf above the hopper that you can place a concrete block in for additional weight
Well, we've been out and about and now back home. Went to pick up a piece of furniture for my wife, then a quick trip in/out of Walmart, then to Walgreens and home. Total time, hour and a half, tops! That's my kind of shopping trip.
No other big plans for today. Gonna be watching the basketball tournament on and off, and certainly watching all of Michigan State's game that comes on around 4:00. Home Run Inn pizza and a couple of cold ones while I watch the game. Sounds like a great way to spend a cold (28° at 1100) Sunday afternoon!
Hope ya'll have a great day!

HI everyone.
Beautiful out if not a little chilly. We made Walmart and back in record time. So now I can go home and do laundry. What an exciting life I lead.
So I put in for tomorrow off. I did this at 630 Friday morning. Heard nothing all day and at 12 we went home. I assumed I'd be going in to work Monday. On a hunch, I logged into my work email last night and wouldn't you know it, the lead approved my day off at 5am on Saturday, right when I wouldn't see it. It is my belief he did this on purpose. So what to do about it. Do I take off because he actually approved it, or do I go in and start an argument with him because he put the screws to me. This is the second time he's done this. I think I'll stay home, because I like not being there, and then tell him on Tuesday that if I put in for a day and I don't hear from him I'll let him tell HR why he can't seem to get back to me.
Norm actually I agree with you. I don't know why I got to Walmart on Sunday, either. Or at all. Yes I do. Because if I shopped at Publix I'd go broke.
Dude came to get the dogmobile this morning. So it's down the road. I assume it is, he got dropped off by his friend and the friend left. He was going to drive it [about 8 miles] and hope for the best. He wasn't around the corner before I heard it grinding and slipping, so I waited around a little while before I did Walmart. Never heard from him so I assume he got to where he was going. Best of luck to him.
Okay laundry. Happy Sunday everyone.

Mike - The scenery & food selection is better at Publix.
Take the day off & don't mention anything about it.
Glad the dogmobile is gone. Doing laundry at home is a milestone compared to the laundry mat.

Correct (sorta). I always have a bag of both walnuts & pecans in the freezer compartment. I use the seat-of-my-pants method for the amount of walnuts. I strive for a mouthful of walnuts in every single bite.

Corned Beef, with cabbage, potato and carrots. In the biggest pot we have. Sliced thin on rye or pumpernickel bread, with deli mustard. And some dill pickles. As a side note: As a young boy in NYC. Corned Beef came in large wooden barrel. Cured in brine. The butcher would use a trident looking tool to get the your corned beef out of the barrel. A St Patrick's day must. Even if it was a Jewish Deli staple . Irish immigrants almost solely bought their meat from kosher butchers. And what we think of today as Irish corned beef is actually Jewish corned beef thrown into a pot with cabbage and potatoes.
