Ya, that recipe looks like a keeper, I book marked it. If you try it out before I do let us know how it is. Wife is debating whether to make regular French Toast with Bacon for dinner tonight, or Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwiches? I don't really care, I love them both, and I don't have to cook it, a win/win! She makes her French Toast with the thick Texas Toast style bread, pretty damn yummy!

A few days ago I had mentioned we had our youngest Granddaughter's birthday party to go to on Sunday. Here are a few pics:

Big brother Ollie just had to help open every gift!

This large Bear stole the show as Anna's favorite present!

Anna, Mom, and Ollie.

Anna and Ollie with birthday cupcakes and DQ ice-cream cake.

Anna and the rest of the little ones had a great time, and we all got a present, the news that we will be getting another grandchild in the Fall!

Chris Super cute. DQ has good products. I used to get Red dog a small cup of ice cream on the way to the lake. He had it finished before we got out of the parking lot

Our family used to go to DQ every Wednesday evening while I was growing up. Loved the Dilly Bars.

If I get fast food and there's a DQ nearby I'll eat at DQ. Never had a chicken sandwich, I always get a cheeseburger. Don't know much about their Stackburger, but I think it's what they're called now? I'll keep the chicken sandwich in mind.

Thanks Jim! Ya, I like the food and ice cream from DQ too! I usually have it at least once a month in the summertime when I go to the big car cruise they have down in DeSoto. First one of those is coming up real soon on April 1st.

Mike, it's a question of preference. Some people only consider a record warped if it makes the stylus (needle) jump. Typically, a stylus will jump back outside, and get in a loop and never play the record. Otherwise, it's just wavy or not flat.

So, if a record won't play due to a warp, it must go on the flattener. If a record makes a noise through the speakers hitting the warped area, but still plays, it should still be flattened. If the stylus rides, no noise, no problem, and just rides up and down a little, then it is ok. A LOT of up and down, even if sonically fine, probably also needs it. Short answer, if it disrupts play.

The flattener is not perfection. If a warp is a factor of ten, it will make it two warps that are about a factor of 3. This is for an edge warp that is like if you put you finger under the edge of a pizza pie, pointed at the center, and lifted. The dish is another kind of warp where it looks like a dinner plate, saggy in the middle and high on the sides on one side, and high in the middle on the other side. You can fix the second side of this dish example with a record weight or clamp, but you need an edge clamp, or flatten it, to fix the first side. Dish warps can be usually fixed completely.

Good morning everyone.

Cold as a well digger's boot this morning. A reminder that it's still technically winter. That's okay, it will warm up a little this afternoon.

I got nothing. Things are going okay and are low key. I won't complain about that.

Hope everyone has a good day. The pressure is off, Monday is over.

They started in this morning on digging the foundation for the new house going in behind us. Keith was right, the excavator is not too loud and the dogs are not freaking out yet. Don't know if they'll go out to the back yard to do their business, we haven't got that far yet. The operator is moving right along though, he might be done before they even want to go out?

Oh hell ya! That's what I need. I hope once the house is built you have nice neighbors move in. Does no one have fences in the neighborhood?

My robot is broke. Plant maintenance has the thing half apart trying to fix it, I don't think they know what's wrong yet, and they've been messing with it about an hour. My robot guy doesn't seem to mind and my wall guy is getting wheels from somewhere.

It's nice out but cold still. After work I'm gonna start the process of changing out that ignition switch. I was going to pull a switch out of one of the wrecks but I'm thinking that won't work. The switch on the truck is on-off, with a start button on the floor. The one in the car has more positions. I suppose I could figure out which terminals are on and off. Maybe I can use a toggle until I get the correct switch.

Looks like I may be done for the day. They are really digging deep into that.

Mike - The operator of that rig sure seemed pretty proficient, that thing moved a whole bunch of earth in a short amount of time! Plenty of folks have fences in addition to me, there just aren't any in that pic. Looks like nap time for you, or maybe you can leave???

Half of industrial maintenance is take it apart and see if each piece feels ok. The other half is playing "what do this button do?"

Truth! My machine acted up from the get go this morning. First attempt to run it was met with "area sensor interrupted". Hmm, uh, no. Three hours later it was running again, after everybody put in thier two cents worth, one of the electricians found a faulty sensor. The part that pissed me off, is that this happened on third shift, and no one did anything about it. Submit a work order, it's how things get fixed, jeesh.

Tad nipply playing pasture pool this morning. Not going to play tomorrow morning. No brisket at the grocer's this afternoon. Folks must be prepping early for St. Patty's Day. I'll have to check again tomorrow.
I settled for baked chicken livers - any of you like chicken livers?

I really don't know why twice baked potatoes taste so good, but for some reason they sure do. Those are twice baked. I will say the skins taste remarkably more delicious when twice baked . Interesting I think.

Jim - I had several things going on & I didn't feel like taking the time to fry them, but I would have preferred them to be fried.
I do know what I'm going to whip up for a dessert.

It was a hydraulic pump that failed on the robot. There's a pedestal that raises out of a pit that the rim halfs go on and the tire, and one time when the robot guy pushed the button it slammed into the pit and that was that. No hydraulic pressure to run it. Apparently it takes quite a bit to fix it, as they had half the machine taken apart. Plant maintenance works until 4 so maybe they'll have it fixed for tomorrow.

Beautiful and still cold. The knurled ferrule that holds the switch on the truck has fused to the switch, so everything turned at once. So I'm going to take the dash panel off and try it from the inside. I didn't have any penetrating oil and I had to mail some bills so I'll mess with it more tomorrow.

I've heard rumors there existed human life forms who don't like corn beef & cabbage.

Corned beef was not a traditional Irish food. It’s actually a US thing.

Tidbit of information: my Granny came over on the boat from Ireland. After she died Gramps married another woman who came over on the boat. Apparently he really liked Irish women.

As for chicken livers, they make excellent catfish bait.

Good morning everyone.

Jamesbo check out Athens craigslist for a 1972 Blazer K5. Just what the doctor ordered. Now, it's a 6 and also originally bronze and he's a little proud of it, but this is the closest we've gotten that I can tell.

The robot is still broken. My wall guy is getting wheels from the other wall guys so there's still something to do. I feel like it's going to be a long day.

One good thing is the computers are operating at near normal speed. Although the printer is still randomly not giving me copies. They either come out 15 minutes later or I reprint and the originals come out two hours later. Weird.

Hope everyone has a good Hump Day.

Tanks Mike, I love the description The truck is ready for some body work [The door don't close right] What He should of said is the $hitty body work need to ripped off and redone correctly. Do you think he might get offended if i offered him 25 cents on the dollar of his asking price I'm about ready to flush this dream/project unless we hit another recession. The problem as I see it is body/paint work $ are going thru the roof and the [mostly] kids that own these thing tear the $hit out of them mudding and rock climbing and usually have more in speakers than the whole truck is worth.

Jim - That's so true. The Banana Jubilee really hit the spot. That's a hearty Welsh rarebit. I hope the tomato was good. I haven't purchased any large tomatoes recently. I buy the Bomb tomatoes for salads, but the large tomatoes while they look good the few I've purchased had no taste.

Chilly ***** Boogers here today w/ 25 mph winds. No golf for me.

Over the weekend I put down new top soil on some bare spots, reseeded with a fast growing seed mix, laid down burlap, secured the burlap w/ metal landscape stakes & watering each day. Fingers crossed.

My Cuisinart microwave is Tango Uniform. I 'suspect' a door switch - who knows until I take it apart which I think is on the menu for one of today's activities.

Good morning guys,

Sunny and clear skies this morning, but sure feels like Winter again, frost and 26° at 0800.

No big plans for today. Wife has to clean house for our neighbor down the street, so I'm on dog duty.

The plates on our daily driver expire at the end of April. I can renew them online, but I have to have the State mandated emissions test first. I was able to make an appointment for that for next Tuesday. Gonna have an oil change on it while I'm there. He only charges me $15 for change if I bring the oil and filter. I think that's a bargain to avoid the time and mess, especially since I have to go up there anyway.

One of very best friends, the guy that has the '66 Vette, and Harleys, so we ride together alot, is having a significant health issue. He took a bad fall in his driveway late last Fall, hitting his head very hard on the pavement, suffering a skull fracture, and was in the ICU for a few days. He has primarily recovered, but has a lingering issue with damage to the Cochlear Nerve in one ear causing extreme sensitivity (literally pain) to loud noises. He is being seen and treated by a specialist, but for now, no motorcycle riding, and he is exploring options for putting a much quieter exhaust on his Vette, just so he can get it out and drive it without being miserable! What a bummer!

Well, that's all for now, hope everyone has a great day!

Jim - You brought this topic up (here) at some point during the last year or so. I have had Vanilla Ice Cream French Toast in the past & it is absolutely delicious. You're a good influence - it may be on my short list very shortly.

Speaking of French Toast, I saw this yesterday. Didn’t get it as the wife was more intrigued by S’Mores Campfire Stout.

Kenneth - That's an interesting brew, not just from the connection to the Vanilla Ice-cream French Toast. I see from the packaging that it was brewed in Grand Rapids, MI. I have heard there is quite a significant microbrewery culture in that area. In fact, one of my former bosses who's really into microbrews, went all the way up there from St. Louis about 5-years ago just to go on several tours over a period of 3 or 4-days.
