Norm - You're welcome. You may feel like you're in a funk, I'd say you're consistently very good, better than probably 90% or more of the golfers in the U.S.!

Norm - Just found an article stating the following:
"It’s believed that the National Golf Foundation has more accurate data than the USGF which shows that only about 5% of average golfers consistently score under 80. Golfers who consistently score 80 or under should consider themselves elite."

Thanks Greg! They're really good, loving dogs. The tan one is Momma's boy, the brindle is Daddy's girl, she's sitting between my legs on the reclining couch right now. I hope you're able to get another one someday if you want one. Certainly won't replace Jack, but you'd make a new bond with a new buddy!

Kenneth what sweet puppies!

Hi everyone.

Long day at work. I'm in inspection this week and the first wheel I went to sign off said I didn't have authority. Seems the overachieving nurse who failed me on my eye exam put the kybosh to my qual on the double. I retook the test and now I wait for my qual to be reinstated. So I get to work the side with the inboard halfs. The big, heavy inboard halfs. I got home around 130 and fell asleep, I was beat. I'm not looking forward to a week of this.

Rained all night but has been nice all day. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice but then rain in the evening. Rain Wednesday. I got a week and a half to finish up all that crap at the shop before the yard **** comes back. If I'm not finished I'm toast. So far the cards are stacked against me.

Talk about being in a funk. I was irritated at the nurse first thing this morning and it's gone down hill since. I told Tiger everything but he doesn't have much advice. That's okay, I'm tough, I'll work it out. Hm, maybe booze will help.

Do we know anyone in southern Maryland that could check out a car for me? It's a CUCV Blazer. I've been looking for a diesel something for awhile and I really like these Blazers. But I'm not seeing myself traveling up there to see it, much less trying to get it back. It seems like a good truck. Eh, I could fly up for a day possibly.

Okay it's past my bedtime. I just finished Season 6 of MASH. That's 15 more discs to go before I'm done. I think my next binge watching will be Hill Street Blues.

Have a good evening everyone.

Ken, love your heelers! We had a blue heeler before Jack, she was high strung but mostly a great dog. Then we got Jack who we thought was mostly a redheeler with some mix. Found out later he was a mutt with a little heeler mixed in, but he was the best!

My uncle Jim heads to St. Vincent (Island) for vacation two months each year. Walking the beach one day last summer he notices a boat motoring towards the sandy beach when this hot babe throws out anchor, hops into the water and walks ashore. She's carrying bag full of something (he suspects sea shells), she walks towards my uncle & they begin talking. She asks him when the last time he had a great cigar to which he replies several years back. She reaches into the bag, pulls out a Cuban Cohiba Behike 52, offers it to my uncle then asks when the last time he had a really good Scotch? He tells her the same time he had the cigar, she reaches into her bag and pulls out a bottle of Balvenie 21 Portwood. He can't understand what's going on when she then unbuttons her top, begins to unbutton her pants and asks him when was the last time he played around. To which Jim replies "don't tell me you have a set of clubs in that bag".

So, one deserves another

Dad,, grandson, and grand father are fixing to tee off when this babe asked if she can join them. Reluctantly they say "OK"

Turns out she's a very good golfer and shoots par, birdie, par and when they get to 18 she has a putt for birdie.

She says," If I make this putt it will be my best round on this course. If someone will help me and I make it I'll take them back to my house and give the some single malt scotch and the best BJ they ever had.

Grand son jumps out and says , " It's going to break about a half ball to the left"

Father says, ' I'm gonna say it's going to break a full ball to the left"

Grand father says, "That's a give me, let's go"

Good morning guys,
Very chilly again this morning for this time of year at 42, but pretty with bright blue skies. Suppossed to get up to about 65. No big plans for today other than going to pick up a table and chairs for my wife around 5:30 this evening. She continues to move along with her refinishing projects, I think she has 3 or 4 active ones right now, mostly table and chair sets, or living room pieces like coffee and end table sets. Most of these sets she finds for $50 or less, puts $20 plus her time into them, and they sell for $400 - $700. She's making pretty darn good money for it being a hobby she enjoys.

Probably start in on getting the 4-4-2 ready for the 2 judged shows I want to enter it in this coming Saturday and Sunday. These are tiny, local shows, one to sponsor extracuricular programs at a private Catholic School in a small town 9-miles south of me, and the other for Veterans at a VFW in a small town 23-miles west of me. The odd thing is the town south of me is where my older daughter lives now, and the one west of me is where my youngest lives. Right now the weather is looking a little iffy for each day, but it's early and the forecast changes almost hourly around here this time of year.

Hope everyone has a great day!

My favorite character of his was as the "Cooler King" in The Great Escape and that he did the stunt riding on the motorcycle jumping the barb wire barricades. He may have been the King of Cool!

Yep, before my time, I was 2 when that series ended in 1961. I've never seen it in reruns, I'd like to though.

With McQueen no longer with us, you'll be glad to know that General Motors has designated me to carry on as the "Keeper of the Cool"!

Hi everyone.

Quite a different morning. Not as many big wheels and we were done by 1130. Had lunch with my puppy that's always good. Beautiful out, nice temp.

Chris since you've seen Bullitt 50 times you know that's not McQueen driving in the big chase. That was done early in the morning because the producers/directors didn't want him doing the driving, to valuable I guess. I'm sure he was pretty pissed when he got to work that day. I saw Bullitt in the theater a couple years ago when it was out for its 50th anniversary. Never got a clear hold on the plot but the chases were good. My friend likes that movie so much he named his dog Bullitt. Big yellow lab.

Got to go mail something then I might try to do something over at the shop. Rain tonight and tomorrow and I'm pushing it as it is. Luckily I wasn't beat to death at work this morning, but just in case I'm not sitting on the couch. That's like Pavlov's dogs, a conditioned response. Sit on the couch, fall asleep.

Okay Good Tuesday to you all.

Mike - I did not know that! I just assumed that since I'd read numerous times from multiple sources that he did most of his own stunt driving, that he had done it in that movie too! Kind of a let down, still a great movie though!

Yes I did, and if my memory serves me, the Charger had a posi. The following Bullitt Trivia site refutes what Mike said about McQueen not doing any driving during the big chase scene, in fact the reverse burnout part of the chase was not in the script, but just happened when McQueen failed to make a turn. McQueen did not do all the driving, but quite a bit.

Pretty sure it was a Winchester 12 gauge pump, can't tell you the model #.

That would be a Model 1897 Takedown version, sawed off.

Chris I should have put that differently. McQueen did some of the lesser shots but his stuntman did the majority of the driving. And I was going to mention the missed turn with the reverse burnout but you beat me to it. I've seen that chase scene plenty of times, but you can't beat it on the big screen. Better to count the 6 hubcaps the Charger loses.

So I got my letter mailed and went to the shop, only to find out I didn't have the key to the tractor with me, so I cleaned up some things and came home when I started hearing thunder. But now the sun is trying to come out again. Sheesh. I can putter around here until it's time to start the wind-down process.

Mike - I never noticed the Charger losing 6 hubcaps! I definitely notice them flying off, but wasn't counting. That Bullitt Trivia site mentioned the script and Director had envisioned speeds as high as 70 - 80 mph during the chase scene, but during actual filming speeds exceeded 110 mph during some of the highway portions! No wonder it looked pretty realistic!

Mike, I've left my key in my tractor for 20 years

Until the Super Model decided one day to pull it out so no one would steal it. I put it back in and naturally it fell out in a pasture while I was bush hogging, Now I just use any key that fits

Played a new course today (43/41)..not bad. I gave four shots on the green and three shots on the fairway...could have been better.

There are probably none of you who own/use Microsoft Office Outlook but Microsoft Outlook took a very large $HIT sometime this afternoon - effecting ginormous numbers of users worldwide, which of course would include myself. I spent ~1 hour researching TechNet and Microsoft Outlook forums after I spent ~1 hour trying to the resolve the issue myself. There is no current fix for their FUBAR but there is a workaround (in case anyone has a friend who might need the workaround). Let me know if you need the workaround and I can shoot it off to you.

Norm - Sorry Microsoft Office Outlook crapped out on you, sounds like a real PIA!

Was the course you played today really nice? Was it super challenging, extra long, was it fair for the average golfer? When I used to play alot, the courses I really hated were ones where you had to hit a perfect 280-yard drive out to a dog leg, left or right, to have any chance of getting down with a par. There would be no way the average golfer could recover from even a slightly errant tee shot. If a course was chocked full of those kind of par 4's, those are the courses I would call "unfair" for the average duffer.

This was an easy course. The course was in excellent condition, as well.
