The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Without annoying anyone I possess some very tasty soundboard music. Several are 1st GEN, many are 2nd GEN, but most are 3rd GEN and greater. One of the tastier tapes which was "supposedly" circulating at one point was a non-verified tape of a Mother McCree's Uptown Jug Champions garage recording (reel-to-reel) w/ Pigpen, Garcia & Weir sometime prior to 1965. I do not own a copy of that tape - but supposedly it exists.
I got her into star trek first and we have seen all of that except the 70's animated series and we just started Prodigy. Star trek took precedence in our tv watching but we will get back to the Dr soon I hope.
Norm I'll be gone between the 12th and the 19th. Not a lot of time to go that far, but I don't want to leave the dog in jail much longer than that and I don't want to leave Mom alone for that long. Now, my sister is coming up to stay with Mom while I'm gone, but the two of them get tired of each other pretty quickly, so the quicker I get home the easier it will be on them. Mainly I don't want Tiger to get sick from sleeping on concrete for too long.
Funny, when I didn't have so much to worry about, I'd go for an extra day every year and was up to about 3 weeks. We'd go to the car show then just hang out. My friends weren't really very old(20s) and could take time off of their part time jobs and we'd drive all around. One time we flew up to Brisbane and went to the Steve Irwin zoo. But now it's just enough time to take in the show and then head home.

Norm, as I get more serious into beer sign collecting, I have found that there is almost a perverse joy people take in trading, as opposed to selling. It's weird, feels very old-world guildish.
John - Ha. Interesting. Makes sense although I've never thought of or known folks who actually trade signs. I have a collection of some beer signs - not as many as I would like to &/or could have. I wish I had some of my Dad's old beer signs. I've pretty much had to relegate beer signs to Wisconsin. There are just too many of them to keep up with. It really does seem like a cool hobby though. We/Dad had a nice bar in the finished basement of our house. He had this sign behind the bar - I always thought it was the coolest thing to watch. We had one of those full-size table shuffleboards downstairs, as well - that thing was fun.
Chris, I like the original wheels on your car best- not that I hate the 17"er's. I think we like what we are familiar with, especially cars that made a impression on us as kids/young adults.
A very cool piece of nostalgic history posted several weeks ago y'all might enjoy...

Greg - Thanks, I appreciate your kind and honest opinion, much appreciated. I'm really anxious to see how it rides with the 15's vs 17's. One thing for sure, there should be no more worries about tire rubs. With the 17's on, and the front wheels at full lock, I could rub the tire on the inner fender if I wasn't careful about going over large bumps.

Well, my wife outdid herself for dinner. Monster Cuban sandwiches with Vinegar Slaw on the side. Cubans had pulled pork, ham, Swiss, dill pickles, and Dijon mustard laced with Cayenne pepper. Grilled on our large George Foreman. Absolutely delicious, I'm soooo stuffed!
I had terrier for ~3 yrs. while I lived in Arkansas. Last of the litter of nine from a Red Bone Bloodhound - go figure. I wanted a Redbone and surprise! I'm about 1/2 through Strays...they're on the hunt to bite his dick off.

While grilling steaks, I looked up baking potatoes on the grill. What the heck, it’s already hot and I need a second side dish besides the asparagus spears I always do. Saw a recipe saying brush butter on the potato skins so they crisp up, and sprinkle kosher salt for flavor. I gave it a try and they turned out great! I’m gonna do this every time I grill steaks as the potatoes were really, really good.

I went a very posh wedding dinner where prime rib was served (first time I ever had that) and it was nearly all fat with just small bits of meat. I couldn’t eat it and went away hungry. Gimme some meat and not a buncha fat. Yeah, call me Jack Sprat.

You got a $hitty piece of prime rib, it should be mostly beef with fat around the edge
I worked as a waiter for a high-end steak + seafood restaurant in college (Urbana-Champaign, IL) for several years. Their prime rib was to die for. Bone-in ribs (~10 lbs - 20 lbs each) low heat slow roasted in rotisserie ovens for ~6 hrs - 8 hrs. "End-cuts" were ~3" thick.

Gorgeous early spring weather supposed to reach 70°F, light breeze ~3mph - perfect golf weather w/ an open awning roof & a long steady downpour of rain forecast overnight tonight. Better make hay while the sun shines.
Ok now im hungry
We wrap asparagus in bacon and throw on the grill Everyone loves them, I just use the asparagus as a bacon delivery device.

the program brought out some very interesting points about the differences of the thought process between " negotiations team and swat teams.
from what I've read the Oklahoma bombing was caused by the actions in Waco and Timothy was an onlooker

There’s a pbs “American Experience” about Ruby Ridge. I really thought it was good.
There is news station video of Timmothy Mcveigh selling anti gov t shirts and stuff at the Waco standoff.

Edit - Added thoughts: Another way to put it is, it's the worst of situations when you're dealing with maniacal bad actors. Your actions/reactions are then limited to the quality/judgement/experience of leadership, which can be good or bad. We've certainly seen both!

I just remember the police towing off the guy's Camaro, and he made such a stink about it they put it back. Seems lopsided.
Chris I saw this on my daily perusal of the Good Morning archives. In case you forgot what your yard looked like before the new houses.
Work is okay today. We finished up around 1230 and will be leaving about 220. That sucks. Lets just go already. Eh, it gives me time to surf the internet what fun.
See ya's a little later.

I lived in Texas during the Waco incident. A fella I knew from high school was one of the first FBI agents killed in the raid. My thoughts on that raid changed from an initial full support of the FBI to the exact opposite as things unfolded.
