The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Kenneth I might have asked you this before but I don't remember. Does driving with the headlights on during the day in the summer help the battery not go bad as quick? I knew a guy once who insisted that was the case. The alternator charging more helped the battery. I was a kid when I heard this, how would I know?
I have never heard of that during many, many discussions about battery longevity. It never even came up as an old wives tale or an internet myth.
Maybe it was known by those-who-came-before and was lost to all us young ‘uns.
Good morning guys,
Hope ya'll are well. Nothing of any real consequence going on here in StL. My main reason for posting is that I F'ed up and accidentally "unsubcribed" from the thread. So, for those who wish I would have stayed in that status, I apologize. Ya can't get rid of me as a result of my own stupidity.

[QUOTE=Vintage Chief;1558669]I've seen Charles' swing up close & personal - Greenbrier Classic some years ago. Funny stuff.

Thanks guys. I think we're in the clear now. Tornado Warning has expired now, but still on a Watch. That's the ugliest I've seen it in quite awhile. We all went to the basement for about 40-minutes. Of course Monty was a complete mess, but he'll get over it. Again, thanks for your concern.
It actually rained here today. All day constant drizzle with a bodacious thunderstorm downpour for a while. The girl dog stayed outside, running around in the downpour barking at the thunder. Weirdo dog.
Got really sideways with management on Wed since I asked about direction on overtime. I had covered parts of two shifts, and had to do it again, since the cars are built on one shift and typically offlined for some checks, then ran through the vehicle performance quality lines on the next shift. So, I was way up on overtime and needed to know whether to put in an overtime request (a bullshit recent thing they have done to cut costs) or flex time off Friday. I was chastised heavily for not working out someone else to cover my stuff from the plant (even when the plant demands that we are there) because I think they were angry at me for not accomplishing the large workload of the week in 40 hours. My colleague took up for me and we had a nice little argument.
Nothing came of it, so I logged only the permissible overtime (10%) and flexed off yesterday. It was nice. I cleaned up the kitchen, and finished up the latest H/OCA newsletter. I like three day weekends. I am also getting grief from the plant that something that was bad to begin with was made worse by my change, and they say what they want, so I told them how to get that started. I keep getting emails of "we need to get this started" and I don't know how many more times I have to tell them the initiating action is on them. That action, of course, is their management talking with my management, which will inevitably be my fault and I will get chastised again.
Plan A and B to get out of that role are in progress. C, D, and E are in the queue.

John - 3-day weekends are nice! I was fortunate that we had a variety of flexible work schedules to chose from. For many years I was on a schedule where I worked 9-hour days M - Th for the 1st week of a 2-week pay period, and 8-hours on that 1st Friday, then 9-hours M - Th again, and that made up my 80-hours for the Pay Period and I got every 2nd Friday off. It was an enjoyable schedule. If they would have let us, I would have worked 4, 10-hour days to have every Friday off, but they wouldn't allow that because they said too many studies had proved more than 9-hour days were not productive.
Sorry to hear the Bullshit is getting worse than better. Wish you a ton of luck getting out from under it!

They certainly deserved it! If I were betting at the start of the tournament, my money certainly would have been on Purdue, but I was glad to see Wisconsin knock them out. As usual, it should be a very interesting and exciting March Madness.
Shaq is quietly hilarious.
Spent my 3 day weekend at home finishing the latest newsletter for the H/OCA and sorting house. This is before cleaning. I have a bad habit of putting stuff on available floor and then not moving it. Fortunately, there is always room in the basement, so stuff got moved out of the mudroom and kitchen in preparation for cleaning.
I unboxed my drip torch. This thing is BIG.
Grilled salmon last night, made meatloaf tonight. Ate some leftover macaroni from the freezer from last week. Not sure I'll make that dish much, but it's nice to know I can.
