The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Agree 100% about worrying about the hype. I think the Vikings were originally picked to win the Division, despite the Lions up and coming status. The Vikings performance against SF last weekend has me scared they're starting to get things back on track. The Lions still have the inside track in that Division, but I wouldn't wouldn't be surprised if the Division title doesn't come down to their head-to-head Divisional match-ups that aren't until Dec. 24th and Jan. 7th. There's alot of football left to be played, it should be fun to see what happens!
Good morning guys,
Still warm today, overcast with chance of showers all day, but still supposed to get up to 78 today and 82 tomorrow, then the bottom drops out Saturday with a high of 50. It's supposed to rain on and off all weekend, with some heavier storms at times. Much to my surprise the organizer has already rescheduled the judged car show I wanted to go to this Sunday to the following Sunday, November 5th. I honestly didn't think they'd reschedule it this late in the season.
My wife has her annual physical tomorrow morning and that's really about all we have in the "to do" bin over the the next few days. Hope y'all have a great weekend!

I have a pinhole water line leak. Plumber coming tomorrow. I am changing plumbers as I no longer care for my previous one. I had a pinhole last year, and they used a copper crush sleeve with O rings. I specifically asked them to sweat copper this time. It's near a joint so it should go in ok. 43 year old copper line. If I keep getting leaks, I'll redo the house, but I don't really want to.

By the way, I do have "espn", but the Pumpkins weren't playing that day, so I didn't get the pic from there!
Dan - I'm not going back in history to review images you may have uploaded in order for me to evaluate my hunch but let me ask you this:
(1) Was the original pumpkin image captured on your phone or a different device?
(2) When you posted the image, did you post the image from a phone or from a desktop, laptop, notepad, etc.?
(3) Having identified what device you captured the original image & having identified the device you posted the image from (i.e. phone, desktop, laptop, notepad, etc.) - what Browser did you use to upload the image i.e. Firefox (Mozilla), Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari, Samsung Internet (S Browser)?
(4) Would you happen to know the image extension of the image you uploaded i.e. .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp, etc.?
Thanks,

Dan - I just thought of something. In the past, IIRC, I believe you've often posted a URL link to images/pictures you've taken. IOW, you post images/pictures to another (different) site and provide the URL link to the site where the images are located.
Any chance when you posted the pumpkin image, rather than actually posting the image itself, you may have instead provided the URL link where the actual image resides?

Normally i use my camera, but this was my phone downloaded to Google Photos. It would not let me copy and paste from Google Photos so, I sent it to myself via email on my desktop, and then did a copy and paste from there. Convoluted enough for ya? Sorry, though.
Fall colors, from my camera, via desktop.

About a dozen miles east of me. Muskegon.
Sandhill Cranes not co operating with me. About fifty of them, but they landed out of range.
I love sandhill cranes. Fantastic birds. Nice fall colors.

Actually, the plot has not thickened for me. I suspected at some point you would not be able to view the original image. I believed last night & it's almost confirmed the CO site mishandled a malformed javascript attribute contained w/in the image. Not 100% though.

Chris that does surprise me a bit, but it does depend on what weather you've had temperature wise, as a good chill tends to facilitate the color change.
Norm, don't, I took a pic with my cellphone of a pumpkin that's it.. As everybody saw it, I will not attempt to move it to my windows/pictures to download.
I'm not intending to spend inordinate amounts of time attempting to understand
Ya, I agree with that, but we have not even had a frost here yet. I have also read that dryness/ground moisture can play a significant role on when they start to change, the drier it is the earlier they start to change. We have had an extremely hot and dry summer, it could be due to that?
Leaves change color for one very simple reason - photoperiod. Temperature & moisture content plays a role in color intensity. But, the "key" to color change is based solely on one premise - photoperiod.
Right now it's still 73° at 10pm, with a low of around 67° at 7am. Talk about going from the frying pan into the freezer. Check out our forecasted highs/lows for this coming Monday thru Wednesday. Ouch, better break out the long johns!

James Dickey [ 20 years my senior] went to the same high school i attended and wrote a poem about returning home looking for ole friends. BTW Deliverance was filmed on the Chattooga river but the story was actually about damming up the Chattahoochee river to make Lake Lanier
