You explain to the priest you happen to have a grave already prepared?

That would fit in a comedy.

"My mother is dying and we'd hoped to find a suitable spot for burial."
"I just happen to have a ready grave open."
"Oh my God, how did you know?!?!?"
"....Guy no showed yesterday; I can give it to you half off."

Today's weather is dank (disagreeably damp, musty, and cold).

Cold start here this morning with an overnight low of 21°, and 24° when I got up at 0730. Sunny out though, headed for a high of 45°. Mid-50's the next 3-days, then a projected high of 70° this coming Wednesday. That is going to be nice!

Grandson Gabe has a tournament basketball game at 3 this afternoon that I'm going to. That's the big excitement for today. Of course the Super Bowl tomorrow evening where I'll be rooting for my KC Chiefs!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

You shoulda come to visit and see them in person. I have a couple rooms I could rent out for a nominal fee - nah, an arm and a leg each is the going rate I hear.

It sure would be fun to see a Super Bowl when my favorite team is playing in it. I do love football, but I just can't justify those kinda costs for airfare, food and lodging just to see it. I'll have a better, more comfortable view from my couch, and the food will be better, plus the hilarious commercials!

Enjoy the game. The wife and I take advantage of local folks watching the game to get out and do things that otherwise would be too crowded.

Good point Kenneth
I remember back a few when the Packers were in it, a person had the roads in town to yourself as soon as the game started. Chris I am with you, comfy seat, good food, the replays, and no crowds. When I was 20yrs old different mind set.

I've sat in Lambeau Field watching Packers several times on those frigid aluminum bench seats freezing my nards. Much more comfy at home.

Norm
One of my former employers had a brother with a company that had box seats at Lambeau. I was fortunate to take Dad to a Lions game when he was younger and it was awesome. I counted 30 or so steps to the bathroom from my seat in the heated suite.
We also went to a game together and sat out on the nard chillers, it was awesome too.

Nothing better than an NFC North conference game @ Lambeau.

Except for a Big 10 Michigan vs. Ohio State game in the Big House with the Big 10 Conference Title on the line. I was in the Big House in 1997 when Michigan took on Ohio State when both were undefeated up to that point. Michigan won and went on to win the Rose Bowl for a share of the National Championship, with Michigan #1 in the AP poll and Nebraska #1 in the coaches poll. That game also sealed the Heisman Trophy for Charles Woodson who played both offense and defense for Michigan that season. He ran back a punt for a touchdown, caught a pass for ~80-yards that set up another Michigan touchdown, and stopped an Ohio State drive when he intercepted a pass in the end zone from the 5-yard line. I believe there were about 107,000 fans there that day. Most incredible sporting event I ever saw in person! I still have my program and ticket from that game stashed away somewhere.

Hi everyone.

Beyond dank today. Lots of rain. Cold. I hate this **** but I know it's the rainy season.

Just kind of puttered around today. Got up and went to the Awful house, came home and messed around, then went to a meeting of the airport. I'm an official member of the LLC. Doesn't mean much since I don't have a use for the runway, but it's nice to be included. Plus if they ever sell the place I get a cut.

Nice visit with the family. They are going back tomorrow. Kind of a short visit for such a long drive but they said they didn't mind. My sister just moved and she said as soon as she gets everything settled then she'll have Mom down for a couple weeks.

Time to go home and get to bed. Heck, it isn't even 8oclock. I don't care, I'll get up early and go to the Awful house again, and do something before Walmart.

Okay have a good night everyone.

Norm and Keith - Standing by my story and what was ""The Greatest" to me. However, I have to admit I was a big Packers fan growing up, the Lions sure never gave me much to root for. Lambeau Field is the Mecca of football and my all time favorite professional coach is Vince Lombardi. I loved the teams with Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Ray Nitschke and Jerry Kramer. I loved the gun slinger mentality of Brett Farve and his toughness. Now Aaron Rodgers, I can't get on-board with, he's just a freak show!

I kinda understand the attraction for the football game, but no comprehension about the golf thing going on over in Scottsdale.

The reason the Waste Management Phoenix (Golf) Open at TPC of Scottsdale is replete with traffic is it is one of the largest fan-producing events on the PGA Tour event schedule. It isn't necessarily a big "tour event" per se for the players as much as it is a stand-out for golf fans doing insane & bizarre antics. Something they evidently feel compelled to do. It's developed its own history.

Understand. I'd like to consider myself a "golfer". Those fans at the WM event are "crazed".

And, it's the race for Hole #16 where they all want to go. Scottsdale draws nearly $1 billion dollars from this event. Crazy.

Yesterday and today have been beautiful here. Sunny and about 45-50. Went out and rode quad around land, nice not to be all bundled up. But I'm sure we will pay for it in March and April....

Greg - Nice that you guys are having some nice weather and you were able to get out and enjoy it!

Unbelievably gorgeous here for February, 61° and full sunshine! Actually thinking about getting the car out for a short cruise before the game.

Got a gimpy dog again, Maggie's what now appears to be a chronic bad left leg has went out on her again. That means me carrying her up/down the stairs when she wants to go out, and lifting her up and down when she wants to be with us on the couch. We are going to get her evaluated by a Vet orthopedic specialist to see if there is any remedy. It just makes me sick to see her in distress.

Hope everyone is having a great day, Go Chiefs!!!!!!!

So, I did get the 4-4-2 out for a short 15-mile drive. Much to my surprise, I did not hear "the noise" one time during the drive. Now it was not nearly as warm as it normally is, so I wasn't really replicating normal driving conditions. Or, the small pinhole patch I performed on the tail pipe or the extra hanger supports on the tailpipe made a difference? Guess I won't know if it's really gone until more drive time in the Spring?

Hi everyone.

Cold and dreary today. Rained all morning then stopped, but stayed cloudy. Cold. I think that's it for the rain but cold all week. Yuck.

Did the Walmart thing today and some laundry and took a few things over to my house. I'm beat. My sister and company left early this morning and called when they got home. We had a nice visit. A bit short for such a long drive I would think but they were all pleased with the weekend.

Regular week this week. We're having a meal Wednesday for Employee Appreciation Day. No idea what we're having, probably pizza. I wouldn't mind that.

Chris hope Maggie gets to feeling better. Rig up an elevator so you don't have to take her out.

Okay have a good evening everyone.

Sorry to hear Maggie is feeling bad on the rear drivers side again. Otto had some ACL woes and I had to lift him on occasion. I was going to order one of of these and may yet, I saw a person in town using one similar for their dog when out walking for the support when needed.

Good luck with her.

Thanks Keith for the kind words and the link! Our next door neighbor has two older Golden Retrievers and they have to use one of those slings on one of them. She has gotten better before after having one of these episodes, we're hoping she does again.

I hope Maggie will heal up again soon. Oh my little Buddy went out with me on the Quad when I took that ride. He actually wants to get up on the front of the seat and ride. I know this is sorta dangerous and iffy. But I have quad in low and don't' go over 10mph. I cant believe he is so mellow and likes it, not bothered by the motor sound, etc. Anyway i stopped about 4-5 times and him and I got off and I let him go. I was testing to see if he would stay with me. He did great! He was pretty interested in some critter tracks in snow but he comes right back. I will take him out more now. He is a feather weight at 19 pounds compared to your pooches, Chris.

Good morning everyone.

Beautiful morning out, big moon and stars, but cold as a mother. This was the first morning I had to scrape the ice off the windshield. The horror! Supposed to be 50s all week, better than I thought it would be.

The vet I used to go to would use a towel like that sling if a dog had trouble walking. Yesterday was Tiger's birthday, he's 7. He's mellowed some as he's gotten older, not sure he's slowed down, but it won't be too long before I notice it. I need to figure out something so we don't have as many steps to go down to go outside.

Work was slow to start up this morning. Not surprising, because the lead is off. He'll be gone all week. Well, things run smoother when he isn't here.

So have a good day everyone, and a good week.

Greg - Thanks for the well wishes for Maggie, much appreciated! Cool that Buddy enjoys riding with you on the Quad! I didn't realize Buddy was a smaller dog, I thought he was going to be more medium sized?
