Jim - I'm going to assume you're pouring concrete cylinders to set your corner posts & side wall posts or framing some form of concrete pad to support your corner/side posts. Great job for your laborers.
Keep an eye on them make sure they set the damn anchor bolts correctly.
Norm, I just doing the prep work. I'm going to have installers erect everything [1st roof and braces] then later walls and doors and windows. Im just spreading the work out so I don't have to permit with the city

I read your other thread, also - spreading out the work. Compacting is the way to go - especially if you're spreading out the work. You'll be so thankful you compacted after several years. Bobcat is good, no matter what you're running over the soil, scraping, leveling, etc. the soil is going to be beat to death. I'd strongly recommend an admixture of #57 stone + sand, compact then set your pavers, preachers.

Thanks Greg! I've been seeing the commercial more and more (couple times today) as we approach Thursday night's game. I'm pretty excited that the story of the car being in the NFL segments is going to be in a future issue of Journey with Olds. I don't know which issue yet, but I'll let you guys know as soon as I do. I honestly don't remember if I posted this pic or not, but here is a pic of the car parked behind the NBC Sunday Night Football film truck when they were shooting the original pre-game segment for the Packers vs Lions game on January 1st, 2017. That pre-game segment featured the car driving around to various Detroit landmarks.

I've done absolutely nothing for over a week. That's okay, I planned it. In fact my neighbor has been mowing for me and he does a better job anyway. I hope he'll do some more work on the Chevy while I'm laid up.

Looking elsewhere to other models it appears Lee will turn Northward of the Leeward Islands heading up the Eastern Coast out @ sea towards Nova Scotia.

That's a cool scene you described, but the Semi in the pic wasn't a car transport. It's just the NBC Sports mobile command post and equipment hauler they take to every game they are broadcasting. That film shoot was in Detroit, and the car at that time was local (Warren, MI) and just driven to the film shoot.

Norm - I've been watching various models also and all I've seen are showing the storm curving N/NE parallel to the coast but well out to sea. I sure hope that's what happens for all you folks along the eastern seaboard.

Dan - Honestly, I thought it would be a close game, even with KC having the home field advantage. The Lions made huge strides the last 1/3 of the season last year, and made several acquisitions to help themselves in the off-season. When I heard Travis Kelce had hyper extended his knee earlier this week and would not play last night, I knew it was going to be a tough row to hoe for KC, especially with the loss of a couple other of their key receivers during the off-season. The less experienced receivers dropped some key ***** at critical times, and what should have been an easy reception turned into that pick 6. A recipe for disaster! I'm not taking anything away from the Lions, I thought they played really well and really hope they make the playoffs and go far!

Hi guys - Absolutely gorgeous stretch of weather we're in right now. It's only 58° right now at 0730 and headed towards a high of 82°.
My wife is off today on a 20-mile (not a typo) hike with my youngest daughter. Despite the nice weather, I think they're nuts, but if they think it's fun, more power to them.

My step-daughter's boyfriend snapped this pic when I got home from.the cruise-in yesterday evening. I just thought it was a cool pic. I may get this one blown up and framed if it isn't too grainy and washed out when blown up.
A brief stop at mile 12 to fill their canteens at an aid station and that was it. They both carried light backpacks with energy bars and fruit, no lunch stop, it was eat as they walked.
I’m thinking their hike was very different than the Arizona hikes I am familiar with. As in no one even knew we were there, and obviously there were no aide stations in the wilderness to give us water or aide in the case of emergencies. Glad they had fun with their excursion.
I have semi-repaired my lawnmower which shat itself a couple weeks ago. I had put a new belt on it and I thought that the tension and the heavy grass had bent a pulley shaft, tossing the belt when I shut the blades down. A simpler event happened; the nut fell off. I either lost a lock washer or it was a nylock that wore out, and the problem is I could not see the damn nut ever under the deck.
So, today I took the deck off the unit, a task of several unpinnings of linkages and dragging it sideways. I found that the pulley shaft was fine and all it needed was a new nylock. A spring has been broken for a while, it is the disengage the blades spring.
The deck looks like an equilateral triangle pointing down. The two blades are the top corners, the engine is the bottom, and the belt goes around all three on the outside. Pinching the belt tight are two idler pulleys in between each blade and the engine. One idler pulley is fixed, and is the shaft for the arm of the other pulley. The pto cable pulls this moving idler pulley in, and it tightens the works. It is the bolt that this system turns on that backed out, knocking out two pulleys. The broken spring pulls opposite the PTO cable, to make sure when you disengage that it does loosen the belt and apply brakes to the belt.
Right now, I have weak springs on there, and it will engage fine, but will spin with little power when disengaged. I can mow with it like this, and I am ordering the proper springs to fix the remaining problem.

Kenneth - Their hike was 3/4 on hilly (but not mountainous) trails that were either rocky or compacted dirt. The other 1/4 was on secondary roads to get from one trail to another. We have hiked 14-mles in one day on the SW side of Rocky Mtn. National Park with a 2,500 feet elevation gain on the hike to Lake Verna and 12.5-miles with a 3,800 feet elevation gain to Longs Peak. She said today was a walk in the park compared to those.
It was not bad this day for three reasons, as opposed to two weeks ago.
1. I organized my tools first.
2. It was 80, not 100.
3. I did not take the harder shortcuts.
I am fortunate my IGA and Tru Value store, which closed and sat empty, is now a NAPA and Ace Hardware. I now have these stores 2 miles from house, which is nice.
