The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Chris, The MSP blue is can only be used by them, they have a copyright or something on that shade of blue. Any time that I have gone to S.E. Michigan, I usually have to run 80mph minimum to avoid getting run over in the right lane, and have run 90 just to keep with the flow of traffic. I have noticed in the last couple of years where the speeds have come down, 90 doesn't happen as much, just watch out for the guys with current Shelby's or Ford GT's, absolute maniac's. Congrats Norm.
Yesterday on the drive home I actually had to turn the AC down as it was getting a bit too chilly in the car. It was only 102 degrees and there was light cloud cover blocking the sun so it didn't seem like being under a broiler. And I was able to play with the dogs in the back yard after I got home. I guess this is what most of the country is like in summer. Man, that sure was a nice respite from the 115+ in the shade temps and full-bore brutal sun. Unfortunately, the remnants of Harold are moving on and we're gonna be back to the regular 110º and clear sky, full sun conditions.

Norm, my wife has suggested I take a lesson or two. I suppose when '26 rolls around and I dip out of the current salaried job (Rule of 55, here I come!) and have more time for leisure, I will check into taking a few lessons. I'm not too worried about developing bad habits before then, because I just don't play enough.
Hi guys,
Despite the oppressive heat where you can't do anything outside, I've had a couple pretty good days.
Since my wife and I are both into physical fitness, in February 2020 we bought a high tech biometric scale that is able to calculate other biometrics, other than just your weight, like body mass index (BMI), muscle mass %, fat %, etc. The scale can be bluetoothed to your phone via an App and you can review and store these biometrics to monitor your progress. At the time we got the scale I weighed 182-lbs. At that time I set a weight loss goal of getting down to 168-lbs., my playing weight in college. Got close several times over the last 3-yrs, but continued to seesaw up and down, mainly between 170 - 175. Yesterday I cracked the 168-lb barrier, now the goal is to stay below that!
Today, I heard back from the Editor of the Journey with Old's magazine. They are going to publish the story of my car being in the 2 NFL commercials on NBC. I corresponded back and forth with her via email for a couple hours, clarifying points, including specs about my car, and additional pictures. She did not provide even an approximate time frame for publication, but when I hear I'll let you all know. I'm pretty excited about this, I really didn't think it was worthy of attention in the JWO magazine.
Hope everyone had a great day!

1/2500sec. Little buggers need to slow down a bit. have bad weather in the area, that's why the dark background. Chris, Tornado in the N.E. G.R, area near Belmont, no pics, but in studio coverage from TV 13. Trees and telephone poles down. Black as sin here now.
Dan - I have a 1st cousin and her husband that live in GR that we're pretty close with. I don't have clue where they live in GR? I'm going to text her here in a minute to check on them. Thanks for the heads-up! Hope you don't get hit bad, stay safe!
They reported a roof blown off of a house, and wind speeds of 104mph just west of Portland along I96, and then a possible tornado in Portland. This all went south and East of me. Got dark, windy, but no rain. Got lucky.
That's good, I'm glad it missed you. I texted my cousin but haven't gotten a response yet?
Tuesday went down to Coldwater (Old US 27 Motor Tour), Wed morn was beautiful so put top down, did poker run- nice sunny... Left Coldwater for Dewitt about 2. Now hotter than a SOB- Wifey and I just baked in the sun- I know, not Kenneth hot but hot to us, shoulda left top up. Stayed Wed night at a friends in Ashley. Left Thurs morn to go to St Johns, Ithaca, Alma and St Louis, Then group went on to Clare. We came up to Harrison to our house. We got rained on in St Johns and Clare as we went thru. There was 279 cars in Ithaca. The group got drenched in Clare. When we got home TV said severe storms here in Harrison, but we didn't see any. This morning, (Fri) we will stay home maybe go for a boat ride if our friends want, then leave Harrison with group for Grayling. Saying overnight in a friends cabin in woods, Then Sat leave Grayling and up to *******, Vanderbilt and finally end up in Cheboygan. Sposta be a big shindig there.. It's been fun, I can't believe this is the 17th year and we have went on all of them.
Very nice of you to say you'd publish my car story if it was allowed, I appreciate it!
Good morning guys,
Finally, a break in the heat. A front came through yesterday afternoon and through the night. The high today is only supposed to reach 78°, and mid-80's this coming week.
Went to my Grandson Keegan's 5th B-day party yesterday at my Ex's home. He had a great time which is all that matters. I saw my Ex-FIL for the first time since his stroke. He's up and walking with the aid of a walker, but has alot of rehab ahead of him. Kinda tough to see him so debilitated, remembering the days when we used to run up and down mountains together chasing Elk in Colorado.
Glad for the cooler temps, but the front and associated rain yesterday ruined my plans for going to a judged show yesterday afternoon/evening, and now looks like it's going to ruin my chances of going to a cruise-in this afternoon. Pretty much sucks!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

No I get 2 grounds keepers every other weekend, if something else isn't on fire we cut down some tress in the spot. Next, I need to stump grin and level with a bobcat crew. My friends daughter [who sells building] is gonna get a crew to erect on the weekend [so I don't have to phuque with the crazies at city hall, Then I plan on installing pavers to avoid the [sit down] $20,000 fine for pouring w/o a permit.

Thankfully Franklin will turn out to sea Northeast. Bad news for Florida Gulf Coast two consecutive years as Idalia looks to be heading for Major hurricane status heading towards Tamps Bay. 7’-11’ storm surge is big.
Hello,
Still in Texas. 12 hour day yesterday. So damn hot that one of my two room keys melted when I left it in the car. The Riverwalk is nice as is the tall tower. Been eating well for dinner. Salmon, steak, enchiladas, steak, past four nights. Salads for lunch sometimes. Potbelly is a good sandwich shop.
