I listened (NPR) to a Port Authority representative at the L.A. Port Authority yesterday discuss the supply chain situation at the port(s). The issue appears to be there aren't enough empty trailers for the number of cargo (box) containers. It has to do with the movement of trailers (the chassis/frames). They can't get enough empty trailers to the ships. The empty trailers are stored in warehouses in the docks and they can't get to them fast enough. Add to this, there is a global shortage of trailers (chassis) - not enough chassis to accommodate the amount of goods in the containers (which are waiting on empty chassis).
Glenn - I hope your doctor visit goes well and that you don't need surgery for it to get better. Also, good luck with getting your needed parts for the Honda. Lots of folks, even in the U.S., are having big time problems getting car and bike parts because of all the supply chain backups caused by the pandemic. Glad you had a mild October to save on heating bills!
and more. But it,s nice that the society opens up now so everything can be as usual ( i hope ) . Was hoping to do some
logging in the woods this winter but must wait and se what the doctor says first.
Hi everyone.
Beautiful out, and warmish. Had the car at work and drove home with all four windows down. Made it seem like a convertible.
Work was okay. The washer broke about mid morning for a couple hours, but we still eeked out the last wheel by the end. I guess overtime is done now for the year.
I heard as far as the docks in California, there isn't a shortage of trucks/drivers, there's a shortage of trucks/drivers that -qualify- for the new rules California has recently put into place.
Got some stuff to take over to the house. So I'll do that and see what else.
Norm hope the massage worked out.

Mike - Massage therapy was big plus - awesome.
James - You're moving right along - nice.
Mother of the folks next door (mom & pop automotive service garage) just dropped me off one dozen fresh eggs laid this morning.
I put in a call to my local equipment rental place to reserve a 50' boom lift this weekend. I have about a dozen large dead limbs which would pose a threat to my buildings should they break free. The last time I trimmed out my trees was two years ago after the last hurricane - that sent me to my physician for a cortisone shot in the left shoulder. But, I was trimming out significantly more tree limbs and took down a 50' old Ash tree. I plan to take it easy this time.

Good evening guys,
James - Sounds like you are moving right along! Good luck with the rest tomorrow.
Norm - Glad the therapy went well! Sounds like you have some real work ahead of you. Be careful up there!
Busy day today. Started out doing bills to let it warm up some outside. Then I went out to clean and winterize the Yamaha. With Daylight Saving Time ending, I had already lost my light yesterday evening to clean it after we ate dinner. So it got a thorough cleaning, waxing, and winterization. All the toys are now put away for winter. Then I worked out, showered, and took my wife to pickup a dresser and chest-of-drawers. Got them to the basement while she was cooking dinner, Beef Stroganoff and homemade yeast rolls. Good stuff!
Well that was a my day, hope you all had a great one!

Well, I just received a calendar reminder for a golf tournament I'm playing in this Saturday - shotgun start @ 12:30pm. I'll have to call in the morning and cancel my boom lift reservation.
You know what you call a herd of cattle masturbating?

People over there are not nice to animals and eat a lot of things.
I saw a program from China when they chained the big dogs head
to a iron gate and began cutting skin and fur from behind while the
dogs still was alive, they said that the fur had better quality this way.
horrible people

Norm - Thanks for that, makes for a good start to the morning!
Forgot to mention yesterday evening that I totaled up my riding mileage between my two bikes. It ended up at 3,496-miles. In 2019 it was 8,127, and last year it was 6,307. Why the big reduction in mileage, simple, alot more time taking my car to weekend events, and prepping the car for judged shows. It's all good in my mind, I had a really fun time with the car this past summer. I probably won't ever put up those higher mileage numbers on the bikes again unless I start taking some overnight or longer trips. I'm still waiting on a couple of buddies who ride alot to retire, because we've promised we're going to take some long road trips. One actually retired at the end of September, and the other is retiring the end of December. I guess we'll see if we can make those trips happen???
Not too much on the schedule for today. My neighbor across the street and I are getting together around 1430 this afternoon to get the snowblower going, it came "some assembly required". For what it cost, I couldn't believe the damn thing didn't come with an initial oil fill! Doing it in the early afternoon so it's a little warmer out. Shouldn't take too long though, it looks like it's mostly together in the crate.
Rain and much cooler temps rolling in tomorrow, not looking forward to that.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Mike I'm with you
Spent most of the morning patching old part of the tractor shed
Didn't get any siding hung.
Decided to use old dog pin concrete slab as wash station for equipment
Only add gravel under both old and new shed

Put on wintertires on 4 cars this week and chains
and snowplow on the Deutz so this is ready for snow and ice . We was thinking to eat dinner close
to the Norwegian border but changed our minds
and went to another place. The covid has skyrocket
in Norway and they have the biggest number of
contaimed (?) now since the pandemic began.
Thousends of norweigans go to our country for
shopping and car maintance , many things are much cheaper here.
