Hi everyone.

Rain. But it's Friday. Had a good night last night. My buddy and I cleared up an enormous amount of work(he did most of it I'm sure). The lead can't give a compliment but did say wow, that's a lot of work. He did let us go at 4. But, my buddy locked his keys in his car so I drove him to his house in Villa Rica, about an hour from the airport, so he could get the spare key and drove him back. So I got home at my regular time. Oh well. Slept good all day.

Jamesbo the foundation in the front of my house has failed, and I'm going to dig it out and prop it up. I thought it would be the perfect time to add on to the front of the house, trouble is the basement isn't a full 8 feet tall, and a couple feet are above grade anyway. I'd like to put in a tornado room, which ideally needs to be under ground.

And for you history buffs, today the State of Illinois is 198 years old.

Not much else. Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Hi everyone.

Rain. I hope the fires are getting rain. Hm, his wife left him and he's bored. He couldn't find anything else to do to keep his hands busy?

Had the I Don't Let Anyone Go Home Early On Friday lead last night. He must have had a stroke or something because he let me go around 330. Got home and in bed and got up around 8 for my girl. It was raining fairly hard and I said, let's get up around noon. So at 130 I wake up... Eh, not much to be done today.

Well, can't spend the rest of the day in my jammies. Be good everyone.

Well John, sorry that the guest's at the Superdome weren't a little more polite to their host. We picked up our first snow today, just a couple of inches, wet and slushy. Supposed to get nasty Thursday and Friday with lake effect and wind, may have blizzard conditions, so they say.

Good morning everyone.

Sun isn't quite up, but it looks dreary out. Gonna stop raining Tuesday they said. Great.

Had this major toothache for a couple days now. Tylenol helps a little. Haven't been to the dentist in, well, it's been awhile. Guess this is the opportune time to go. My dental insurance isn't that great. Maybe the Awful house will help.

Worked at the shop a little yesterday. Filled up two big garbage bags of just general crap. This place was used as the guy's private dumping grounds for about 40 years. Gonna go do the same thing again today.

I'm in a bit of trouble. I used up all my dry firewood. I need to come up with some sort of enclosure to keep it out of the rain. I have a big metal can that I keep firewood in on the back porch, but that only holds a day or so's worth.

Okay Happy Monday everyone. Time to hit the road.

Evenings.

Not much accomplished. Well, managed to hone out the setup-bearing to pinion so i dont need to press it back and forth when shooting for correct spacer. Then i just simply use non-honed one at final installation.

Btw, from what ive read, i could almost swear Mike has decided to buy that Super88 already

Good morning everyone.

Oddly enough Jamesbo I don't eat waffles at the Waffle House. Now, on occasion the bad manager is there and I don't like him, so I'll have a waffle so the server has to make my food instead of the manager. They say he's a good cook, but too bad. I don't like him.

If I could find a small metal box then I could "flash season" my firewood. Put it on top of the stove and let the heat dry it out before I put it in. I may have some dry-ish wood at the shop I can use.

My decisions on what to do widely depend on what I have on hand for any particular job. And sometimes what I feel like doing which, like yesterday, is nothing. Like Garth Brooks says, damn this rain and damn this wasted day.

Inline if the 88 is nice then I do want to buy it. But there's lots of factors that go into it. Like if I approve of the seller. If he's a ***** then no way am I buying it. Of course it also depends on how many hurricanes have beat it up.

Gonna dodge the rain and go to the junkyard this morning. After that who knows. It's my last day off, gotta get something done. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Okay. I just got the picture youre excited from another topic, but thats just it.

Well, the real reason i came to write here, is to show how i dry my firewood.
I have big warehouse outside, from where i carry my firewood to dry.

This is worth of ~7 days of firewood, build myself. Wood dries really good here:

Mernin', all. Dank & dark, just a tad chilly here. More o' same on way for tomorrow, then a supposed big chill Thursday (20s at night), lasting for a coupley days.

Mike, hope you can get to the fang doctor soon.

Inline, I used to keep a nice stash of wood by the fireplace during winters (relatively mild as they might be); but the critters seemed to follow the wood into the house; so I quit. In fact, I got rid of all the old firewood and plan on just putting a propane insert into the slot (but not just yet). Need to get a chimney sweep over here, 'cause it ain't never been looked at since house was built 15 or so years ago.

Spose to go have lunch with an old H.S. classmate in N.O. tomorrow and look at his "new" Model A! But the multi-purpose trip will also include a ride for better half to airport, along with a visit to ol' Aunt Carmy.

Y'all have a great one, Olds buds.

Hi everyone.

Beautiful day today. Missed most of it. Now comes the cold.

First night back. No idea what awaits, but I should be flying solo. My buddy's grandmother died and he's out in California. Of course if we're still short trucks who knows. We make more money than any other airline and we still can't afford trucks. I wonder what the CEO drives.

I know a couple people whose birthdays are today. They aren't as old as the war, I wonder what it's like having your birthday on a day like today. There's still family members of the victims alive so the Arizona is still leaking oil.

The toofins are feeling better, but I'm making an appointment with the masochist, I mean the dentist, anyway. I made the mistake of telling my Mother that my teeth hurt, and I got a thirty minute dissertation on why I need to take care of my teeth. Eh, I'm overdue to go, no telling what he'll find.

Okay off I go. Hope everyone enjoyed Hump Day.

PS Jamesbo that was beautiful and moving.

Good Morning.

More snow again.

And welcome Allan R.

And, a day late, condolences? from Pearl Harbour day. "?" because im not sure how are you generally nowadays dealing with it? That " Great Pearl Harbour- day" got me wondering. No offence!

Funny story i have to tell. As usual, when i woke up i went to feed our two cats.
Well, the other one eats usually slower, and now he instead went to drink water first. Meanwhile the other cat had already eaten her own share of "wet food", and proceeded to eat also the other portion. I twice prevented that, which resulted for that cat to get mad and she insisted to get outside. Oh well, thats not my problem, have fun outside

Well, have a great thursday everyone.

Well, Jamesbo the insomniac got da' worm... But all's not lost: Better Half from Peoria sez our delinquent retaining wall installer is going to start da' job on Friday! (For the 4th time since July.)

Had a fun ride in my ol' H.S. buddy's "new" Model A yesterday, jaunting around Mid City and City Park (in N.O.) whilst he's "a-hooga-ing" his horn to every soul on the street that happens to glance our way. Don't know why he wanted a Model A, but he sure did... and he finally scratched the itch.

Here's from my FB page (don't know how long these links will last):

Y'all have a great one, Olds amigos.

Wonder what de over under is on John's " installer" getting the wall started.

I hate to tell ya ole friend but if he starts the mortar is gonna freeze and [fill in de blanks]

That's a cool car but I really don't want one. Makes me think one of these days all the gear heads are not gonna want 60/70's muscle cars and want ricers instead. Glad I'll be planted by them.

Hi everyone.

Ran a little late so here I am at work. Last night was a fiasco. Worked with a guy and we both had 6 planes, but the lead was mad when we didn't get everything done. Hm. Maybe if he wasn't in the office looking at ebay he could come out and help us.

I think tonight is the first night of being cold. Down into the 20s I think. Good thing my jacket is in the car in case I need it. Last night we had a dinner at work. They had the hangar all done up with decorations and also a foam spitter out machine that made it look like it was snowing. I started twitching.

Well we'll see what's in store for tonight. One more for all of us. Have a good evening everyone.

olds98lady- thats some plain bad luck.

1969w3155- wow, an whole inch? Fell way short what was promised then. Forecasts nowadays seems to be total lottery.

Well, i went to install my gears. First i forgot one socket i needed to buy, well drove 35 mins back and forth, then when i realised i forgot even another item, being driven already back to garage, i just did what i could and came home. Next time better luck.

Hi everyone.

Friday. Cold. Lead that irritates me. But it's Friday. Last night work started out slow, got good, then deteriorated towards the end. Eh, you can't have it all.

Welcome Olds98lady. I had surgery on my foot years ago. Got to watch.

Be careful birddogging Jamesbo, you'll become the next excuse. I can see this coming. Footings poured, temps freeze, footings fail, guy says hey, you're the one that wanted me to do this.

Okay gotta get going early. Have a good evening everyone.

Good Morning.

Woke up really late since i promised to stay at bed with fiancee ( she loves to wake up as late as possible), dont even remember whens previous time ive been on bed to 10am. Usually i wake up at 4.30am, even as im in vacation. Plenty of time to do things when you wake up so early.

Cold outside. Just chilling this day, promised that i dont go to garage until week when shes at work. Good beef, and sauna today.

You guys should sometimes try to cook good, fat beef and spice it with a tad of pepper, and good àmount of strong tasting brandy- absolutely tastes like it would in heaven. Oh yeah, and when were there, my other favourite. Good meat stew of your likings, just replace the water as incredient with beer. Absolutely stunning.

Jamesbo - Ill take olds98ladys' comment as she had patient at work, whos wife dropped an cement block on his foot, probably working at house etc.

So, whats everyone else up for?
Have a nice weekend!
