Hi everyone.

A tad overcast today but still plenty of blue sky smiling at me. No rain forecast as far as I can tell.

Dan you've definitely traded up. Good luck with the new place.

Jamesbo you've exceeded the test. The General only tested the inside door handle to 244,000.

So it's Friday already. I was going to work some overtime tomorrow but I'm going to be busy most of the day Monday, and gone all day Tuesday. So I'm not going to work overtime tomorrow. Gee that was easy.

Okay out with the dogs and then hit the road. Have a good evening everyone.

Good evening.

Was a nice but cold weather outside. Autumn has really striked on us by now.
Fixed my house today, got done what was intented. I have a bad habbit of leaving everything for autumn due to " having fun at summer", and find myself having every single weekend booked for works-to-be-done until winter comes, and even further..
On the other hand, im not taking problem of it, i realise that old house build from wood isnt never going to be "done" or perfect, it needs continuous maintenance.
On the other hand, you can do everything yourself and pretty cheap, just takes your time.

Ive been also pondering on as stupid things as what diff.cover to choose for my car. I know, stupid and just looks. Im partial to TA Performance cover, but at the same time i have 40$ coupon to Summit.. And from there id like maybe the B&M cover, or copy(?) of TA Perf. cover from Moser. Dunno ???

Hows everyone else?

Ill take a look to first pages->

Tomorrow, back to work. Back to earning. Something? Not much, but something.
Freakin house eats all my Cutlass money With 15 grand $ from lottery i would get it pretty close done.

Hi everyone.

Well, the nice days took a break. We started getting mist some time last night, and right after I got into bed this morning we got a huge downpour. For whatever reason the dogs seemed unaffected. Good for sleeping. So good that I didn't get up until after 2. The rain is over now so we'll see how long it takes for the sun to come back out.

Jamesbo when I first started showing up here I did go to the beginning and read all the way through. Funny how when you look at the message count window how many people have 1 post.

Guess I better do something to salvage this day. I kept thinking yesterday was Sunday. It probably was somewhere. Hope everyone's week starts out good.

Good morning everyone.

Just got back from the Awful house. Not much going on there so I didn't stay long. Looks like the rain is done now for awhile. We sure needed it. It will probably make the grass start growing again.

Clint good luck with the new girl today. Hope she works out.

Might go look at a parts car today. It has some trim that is otherwise unobtainable. The front is all smashed. The ad says, was being driven when hit. That reminds me of Back To The Future when Biff has the car towed back to Marty's house and says he spilled beer all over him when that drunk ran into him. And the front of the car was smashed.

So fall is in two days. Seems like it's been summer forever. I don't mind that. But it always seems like it's winter forever. Whenever I think of winter I feel like a mule with its feet dug in not wanting to move.

Okay gotta get something done. Have a good Monday everyone.

Good monday-evening.

Whenever i think of winter i know i can just turn on bed if i want to, and sit in front of fire and just look outside

Tried to disassemble my heads.. An old C-shaped tool i had got from father long ago didnt overcome spring pressure of those heads. So they remain un-disassembled..

I be here... got back yesterday afternoon and am leaving for da' hills at Zero-Dark-30 manana... and guess what gentleman-scholar is pickin' me up at da' Hotlanta airport, even though I'm flyin' Southwest? Hint: he just acquired a new 6-speed Cruze. I bribed him with some of better half's lasagna and it worked! ;-)

Mornin all.

John, Mike, have a ball.

She is greener than I thought, but eager to learn. We'll see how much is retained today. She definitely kept me on my toes. I have an '02 Sonoma that loses fuel pressure when hot. And only does it when the underhood temp gets real high. Mush have the A/c on and the hood closed. I believe we are losing voltage to the relay but have yet to confirm it. Pump is good, and the relay is bypassed. Today may be the last day that its hot enough. may have to wait til next year if we don't reach close to 90F anymore after today.

Got a call from the transport company they should be picking up my dirt scooter I bought last month and delivering it out.

Have a Tuesday all.

Good morning everyone.

Getting ready to take in the airport. It always feels strange when I park in the deck out front. Even though John is flying Brand X, I'll still park on the south side. Doesn't matter, the train exits smack in the middle.

Clint if you would have known how inexperienced this girl was, would you have hired her anyway? She'll have a good teacher, who knows she might be the next reality TV car show host.

Jamesbo don't overdo it.

Well, when there's food involved it isn't hard to bribe me. And well, you know, I come from the city that works. That's why it works.

Okay gotta get the dogs situated and then hit the road. Hope everyone has a good day. Hope everyone in the southern areas has enough gas to get around.

Great trip back in da' Cruze yesterday, and a swell meal prepared by better half -- just not having to cook at home is straight from the upper regions of Heaven.

I'll give a toot, Jamesbo.

Clint, I hope she climbs the steep learning curve like I climb Jackrabbit Mountain. Certainly think it will mostly be a matter of desire and potential.

Evening all.

Having a good week so far. No work for a while until things calm down so I've been decorating the dining room and doing a bit of work on my friends daewoo, seized brake calipers and you can't get new ones for love nor money.

Sorted my trip to Spain. Going on Monday which is also my 49th birthday. Damn I'm getting old, how did that happen? I'm actually going to Marbella which is the usual place where all the English criminals go to live and try to stay under the radar. I'm looking for a nice little holiday home as it's only 3 hours from me and guaranteed sunshine most of the year.

Weather here is warm but overcast, could do with some rain
Have a great mid-week.

Hi everyone.

Really nice here. No rain for the foreseeable. Good temps, too.

As always, had a nice time with John and Better Half. The lasagna was delightful! Got 44mpg in the car on that trip yesterday, but now I have to let it sit a couple weeks because I've gone over my allotted miles to keep the age and the warranty in step. So it's back to the blue van for awhile. That's okay, I need to put a few more miles on it so I can rotate the tires.

London I said the same thing to myself when I turned 49 back in June. Hope you find a good vacation home. I think my vacation home is going to be a camping trailer in the back yard.

John I forgot to ask you how long you're staying in Georgia.

Well it's Monday. No idea what's in store, but I have to go so I can stay living in my house. Hope everyone is having a good week.

Evening everyone. Sorry, didn't mean to be away for the past month or so, just seemed to be busy every night.

I've either been working on my cars or customers cars for night projects after I got home from work. Seemed like everyone needed something fixed all at once. Got most of the projects done, except one of my customers cars that has a timing issue. It actually retards about 5 degrees when you rev it off idle then rebounds. Weird. I think the timing chain is loose so I need to take it apart to find out. So much for a quick fix.

Went to the AACA museum show in Hershey PA in August and came home with a 2nd place trophy with the Riv Convertible. Was a fun day but the show wasn't well attended. Probably had something to do with the 96 degree temps. Everyone either hid under a tent or hung out in the AC in the museum. They also have a big Tucker exhibit now which was pretty interesting.

Here's my 9 year old, Zachary with the Riv:

Actually away at a meeting this week at the Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. When I got here yesterday, they were on lockdown. Turns out the police cornered a wanted criminal in the parking garage and a gunfight broke out. It happened about an hour before I got here, glad I missed it.

Anyway, going to head off to bed, I haven't been feeling well so I'm going to get some extra shuteye. Look forward to catching up with all of you. Night all.

Mornin all.

Darrell, good to hear from you. Is this a Distributor car? If so, you cans pop the distributor cap and watch the rotor. Turn the engine over by hand counterclockwise to TDC on the timing pointer. Then turn it clockwise watching for the ignition rotor to move, then look down and see how many degrees slop you have. 12' is excessive.

Mike is the Cruse a Lease?

London. I don't envy you tangling with the Daewoo. So glad most of those have been crushed over here.

John, The Ambition is definitely there, I just hope the retention is also.

Jamesbo, Come on up. We are having a special on our winter air. All you can breathe for just one dollar.

Have a Thursday all.

Darrell, Nice ride and Cool hearse in the back ground also.

See de little sign in the rear door window. Reminds me of a girl that werks for a funeral director that I know. She pops them out when making a long drive pick up [so she can smoke]

Mernin', all... very nice up in da' hills today; no rain, sunny, and 'twas in 60s when I arose.

Jamesbo, you should try & steal that girl from your friend; she sounds like a kindred spirit... But wow, a big Buick hearse! Not sure I recall ever seeing one in the metal.

Whelpt, Waldo and his spouse are driving to LA on Monday, if the Good Lord says the same. We have a full week planned next week at the Plantation. Glad you liked the lasagna, Mike! I was wondering if the "doggie bag" survived the trip home.

Darrell, welcome back & congrats on the trophy. My-tee-fine looking Riv, and progeny as well. Looks like Zachary is going to be a chip off the ol' block as far as the cars go. My Dad never bought anything other than the 1 family sedan as long as he was alive, but he definitely had a spark for the cars. Hope you feel better, in any case.

Clint, they say nobody's perfect!

Whelpt, y'all have a fab one, Olds buddies.

Well, yesterday Boeing paid a visit and talked to all three shifts at work. Talked about how we are all in a partnership (our parts go into G.E., R.R. & Pratt & Whitney engines which they use), told us that they have 40,000 employee's in Seattle, and that Disneyland in California will fit inside of their plant, then after all of their "gee whiz" we are amazed at what you do here, hinted that we can be replaced if deliveries aren't made in time. What A-holes.

Hi everyone.

Temps are up today, which is fine with me. It's supposed to stay nice so maybe I'll get [a chance to get] something done on my next days off. Which are in three days.

Dan that's funny about Boeing. My best friend works for Boeing. He started out with McDonnell Douglas as an aerospace engineer, and of course was absorbed with the whole "buyout." Boeing and MD management still insist it was a merger of equals. "One Company, One Vision." The complex where my friend worked in Huntington Beach had barbeque chicken outside one day, but told all the workers they could only have one piece of chicken. So the mantra became, one company, one vision, one piece of chicken. A day after they put the big Boeing sign up on the main building, some pterodactyl-type bird $hit all over it. It never did get cleaned.

John the lasagna made it home and was consumed last night before work. Since it was still warm I had considered peeling back the foil and munching on it like a candy bar for the ride home. Glad I didn't. I'd have been wearing half of it.

Darrell I love those wheels. Is this the same boy who took over the trophy for the Cutlass? He'll be collecting them. I'd love to go see that Tucker display some time. I'd even consider buying the Tucker kit car that's built on a Lincoln frame. But the interior I've seen looks nothing like the Tucker interior.

Clint the Cruze is not a lease. It's mine for the duration if I choose it. If you're wondering why I want to keep the miles in check, it's because I want to have warranty for as long as possible. And I have this thing about statistics for my cars. It's weird I know.

Jamesbo, was the Bug Eye Sprite girl the Corn Queen from Locust Grove?

Okay time to hit the bricks. One more for the most of you. Hope your evening is going well.

Mike, I'm shocked at your memory [ and you read my other post] But no it was Miss Pulp wood from Locus grove and she was much later in college.

On FB she's now retired and has 2.4 kids and expecting grandchildren to down load at any minute

The blessed endowed young lady in high school woulda put Louis Gizzard's Kathy Sue Loudermilk in the shade.

But alas, gravity has set in and on FB she jes ain't the same.

But jes to show how many high school boys remember her "profile", I'm fairly certain she has the entire male classes spaning 5 years plus and minus of her graduation class as FB "friends"

So I don't feel sooooooooooo alone.

Evening everyone. Hope you all had a good day. Got home from Connecticut a couple of hours ago and now trying to catch up. Those meetings really take a lot out of you mentally. Glad to be back home.

.

Mike - I love those wheels too but I got lucky and just found these two weeks ago. They are aluminum and went on the turbo Riv model only in 84 and 85. The production was only around 2,200 in those years which makes them extremely hard to come by. I got them fairly reasonable so I could not pass them up.

Here's a couple pics with the new wheels installed:

Yes, that was Zachary that was also holding up the trophy from the Olds show. He likes both cars now and enjoys going to the shows. Hopefully he will continue to have the "old car bug."

Jamesbo - thanks. That hearse was in mint condition and only had 47,000 org miles on it. The guy was still using it for its intended purpose and it was for hire. So if you want to go out in style....

John - thanks. I have a drs appt tomorrow, I wouldn't be surprised if I have a sinus or ear infection.

Clint - thanks for the tip. Yes it is a distributor car. It had Pertronix in it and I swapped in points, didn't make a difference. I will check to see if there is that much slop in there, he told me there is a new timing chain in it so I wasn't initially thinking that was the problem. But I've never seen a car where the timing retards 4-5 degrees when you raise the rpm's from 750 up to 1200 and then advances again above that. Anyway I hopefully will have time tomorrow to check it. I'll let you know.

Have a good night all.

Jamesbo, Be my guest. I live too far west of you guys to get the worm all the time. The missus lets us sleep in til 4

Darrell, I guess its also possible the mechanical advance weights could be worn and with the throttle change be causing the retard.

Scot, Good to hear from you. Don't be such a stranger.

Mike, I knew there had to be a reason. I have funny quirks like that too. I guess we all have some form of OCD somewhere in our lives.

Good day.

Off from work, and into the weekend! Today, beer ( just a little) and sauna.
Then to sleep early. Tomorrow im going to drive to summer cottage and back to get load of wood to burn at winter, and its 4hr trip one way. Total 9 hours. So im going to start at 04.00am so that i have whole saturday left when i got back.

OLD SKL 69 - Congrats for the second Place! Nice looking Riv. even its not as cool as the older body. And weird rims? And this is not with bad, they just look weird to my eyes.

87' ( or was it that.. ) 442 Cutlass came to sale on our national car-sale site. 19 grand $.
Im saying it will be for sale LOOOOONGGGGG- just like mine was. Way too new, and WAAAAY too much price for Finland for "just" a G-body. Tho its only needs another me to buy something that nobody else wants

Nice weekend for everyone.

Awesome day out. I saw a little here and there because my boy was antsy and woke me up a couple times. It's nice out now and should be a beautiful evening.

Darrell if you get Zachary his own car he will be well ahead of his peers, and way cooler, too.

Scot welcome back. Stick around.

Not much else. Gonna go out with the dogs and get them taken care of, then hit the road. Night 3. Have a good weekend everyone.

Evening everyone. 85 here today and sunny. Supposed to be 10 degrees cooler tomorrow as we head into fall. Can't believe summer's over already.

I went to the doctor today, turns out I have an ear and sinus infection. Guess that explains the dizziness and fatigue. Started on antibiotics tonight, hopefully will feel better in a day or two.

Clint - I did not get a chance to check the car today for the timing issue, will have time tomorrow to check.

Inline - I like both sets of rims on the car. I can't say I like one over the other but I will tell you that the new set makes the car ride so much better. I also saved at least 10 pounds also on each wheel.

Will be going to Fall Hershey in a couple of weeks. Anyone else thinking of going?

I noticed too the amount of posts and that we are on page 500. Amazing.

Well, have a good night all.

Have to head out to an open house..or open bar, for my barber who recently retired. The building that he was in, was going to be converted into condos, so after roughly 50 years he decided to hang up the shears. I ran into him at my doctors office a week ago, and if this retirement thing bores him, he may open up another shop. I had been going to him since I was 19, so a bit of a long time.

Good evening. Woke up at 04.00 to drive to cottage to get load of wood.
Those were times, 4 hrs per way. Now someone should unload it all......

My parts finally are going to arrive at monday ( for rear), or so does the local postage tracking service say.. Lets see. Tho theres no hurry for them.

Hmm.. Eating something, watching TV, shower and sleep. Sounds like a plan.
Was A-class weekend, wife was away...... No, thats a lie, would been A if she had been at home.

Have a nice day, night or whatever time its on your country. Saturday 07.50pm at here now.
