Wow, I'm glad today is over. Got an alarm call from work this morning. Two guys had smashed into my place and stole some goodies and made a heck of a mess. I hope the police find them before I do.

Weather is cold and frosty, getting fed up with the chill.

Hope you guys had a better day than me.

Good Morning.

And welcome Mostizzle!

LondonCutlass - That plain suc*s! Lets hope you find them before police

Great friday ahead... Not.. Yesterday i was planning the trip. Now im torn between eastern vs western route to drive down Europe. Western route would be in reality faster than eastern, despite what different navigation-services say. And when the time already is limited.. Well, long time for that, but its fun to plan to fill your day up.

Have a nice friday, and weekend everyone.

Home from the hospital, was not feeling right on Sunday night and husband took me to the ER.Luckily the heart specialist I work was there and he found that I had a hole in my heart. It was repaired surgically and feeling a lot better.I learned this was not caught after I was born.Looking through history,my dad had this when he was 25 years and including his two brothers at age 24 and 26 years old.

No Waffle Houses in MI? Sounds like a franchising opportunity!

WaHo, perhaps you can enlighten me!

Better day today. Getting my house ready for the viewings on Saturday morning. So far I have twelve couples coming around. What I need is a healthy bidding war.

Went to go out in the Olds today, flat battery so I thought I would go out in the Alpina, flat battery so I gave up and washed my windows instead.

Nice to see we have another voice to be heard here, welcome Mostizzle. How are things in The mid west.

Funny to see Mr Trump becoming pals with our Prime Minister, odd bed fellows, but they are saying what I want to hear.

Olds98lady - hope everything works out ok for you.

Jamesbo - This is the first time I've been robbed, apart from a car many years ago., so I know now what you mean.

Hi everyone.

What a night last night. I chased my tail all night long looking for planes and then parts. Didn't get to everything because of it, and also because I didn't get a truck until 1030. I was actually more upset about it than the lead. Tonight is Friday and I hope I can catch a break.

Waffle House. Started in 1955 here in Atlanta by two guys that were already in the restaurant business. It's like a short order place, the grille is out where everyone can see it, limited seating that's uncomfortable so you don't stay long, good and greasy food. It's nicknames include the Awful Waffle and my favorite, Awful house. Being from the north, it's an unlikely place for me to take up with, I went to the new one by my house some years ago and became fond of a couple of the servers. So I kept going back and now I'm part of the furniture. And I don't discriminate. I'll go to the Awful house anywhere and anytime. Good place to go after a night of drinking, or if your holiday meal plans fell through. Actually they are slam packed on holidays.

London I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've never been broken into and I hope I never am. Too bad about the cars. Here at the Campus and Grounds we're on a battery share program. If something needs to move and the battery is dead, I've got the wrenches handy and things get swapped around.

Brian how many cars did you pull out of the ditch last week during the storm? Heck if I were up your way I would have driven into the ditch on purpose just to have that monster come help me.

Jamesbo I'm not one for confrontation. Read another way, I get walked on a lot. It's okay, sometimes karma is a bitch. I don't pay a lot of attention to FB anyway. This one guy named Jim I like to see what he has to say.

I think the wall is going to be a bust for the remainder of the year. The lake still hasn't started back down and Feb 15 is fast approaching. So John may win after all. Although with the present luck it might be a draw.

Okay gonna get ready and hit it and quit it. Have a good weekend everyone.

Mike, I had forgotten we used to have Waffle House here in Ottawa. It has been gone for a long time. It was opposite end of town so not sure if I ever ate at the one here or not. I think I did once.

Started up the Cutlass today and had to pull it out of the garage into the fresh snow to re-position it. Parked the Mustang next to it in the garage for the night. I'll be putting the stock mufflers back on the Mustang to test something. I've got a vibration on deceleration/coasting on the Mustang. If I tap the throttle it goes away. Took it to the dealership and they told me the vibration is due to water in the mufflers. Have any of you ever heard of that? The aftermarket mufflers do not have drain holes and they used that as part of their explanation. So my solution is to put the stock ones back on and see if the vibration is still there.

It has been warmer here lately, hovering around freezing with a couple of days of snow. This weekend is starting to cool down more. It is winter though.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Morning. Tad at freezing side. Gonna chop down some trees today from yard, some are growing too tightly packed. It was fiancees idea, to get " yard looking nicer". Yeah.. Lol quess what? Thats illegal here if we go by the law. I should get permission from all my neighborhougs, and after that from the city. Aaand to top it i should pay city 140$ for the permission to chop down trees on my own yard!!!! Ridicolous. No need to say i dont have, and not going to get a permission.

LondonCutlass - Hope your house selling turns out good and you get good money from it. Not much luck with your cars tho.... Good you talked about it, might charge my Cutlass battery too.

olds98lady - Nice to hear your all okay now ( ?). Heck, you have that new Camaro waiting for you.

car_designer - Sounds weird, but it could be possible ( im not buying in the water part, but otherwise due to aftermarket mufflers). By the way, if they dont have an water hole at the bottom, they tend to rust through pretty quick, atleast at Finland where its humid long times per year.

Awful House.. Sounds like something we would need too. Does it serve something else than a) burgers and fries, b) kebab, and c) pizza? If so, we would definitely need it. Tired of those 3 options.

Well, good saturday and weekend for everyone! Its sauna day again! ( wohoo )

Here' ya go Inline,

www.wafflehouse.com/waffle-house-menu/

No Pizza or Kabobs, they're speciality is hash brown taters 24/7 with breakfast, lunch or dinner. Mike will tell ya the never close, don't even have a key for the front door

Since I'm a Gawga Cracker [white southern boy] I like to get a big bowl of grits with a ton of butter, chop up 2 sausage patties in it and top it with a soft poached egg

Dang, I'm making myself hungry

Since Mike said, He's "fond" of a few servers, I probably shouldn't tell this joke but what the heck

What has 6 breast and 10 teeth?

3 waitress at the Awful House

Good morning everyone.

Got home extra early from work, and like in weeks past, crawled into bed and was wide awake. So I'll hit the Awful house and see how long I can function before my brain goes into sleep mode, literally and figuratively.

Paul there was a place called Waffle House a long time ago that wasn't related to the current one. Not sure if it's still around or what, but I've seen places called Waffle & Steak, because Waffle House couldn't be used in that area. Though I know there's at least one in Denver and some in Ohio. So who knows. I've always said it would be a gold mine in Australia, but that's a long way for the truck every day.

Jamesbo if I had that many battery tenders my electric meter would be spinning like in Christmas Vacation.

Mostizzle I made money off the snow, too, when I was a kid. I think I got 5 bucks for shoveling a driveway and sidewalk.

Just starting to get light out. Hope everyone has a good Saturday.

Addendum: Jamesbo that about describes it. And yes they do have a key to the front door. It's paved into the parking lot.

Lol, didnt even come to my mind to check do they have internet site... Doh..

Now im drooling. Must go to light up my wooden stove, and start cooking some juicy steaks with "plank potatoes" ( no idea what they are called, they are kinda son of french fries and potato wedges). Absolutely best steak comes when you do them at wooden stove with big old-fashioned cast-iron pan and real butter!

Love it how our second nearest market has big meat counter, loads of fresh steaks and whatever you can imagine done from meat. Yam.

Edit: Thats what im talking about:

Good morning everyone. That stove looks pretty cool.

Slant- Driving a plow is my winter time gig. It's slightly more lucrative than 5 dollars a house these days. lol

Another cold weekend on tap in the mitten. Probably won't do much besides mill around the house and watch the boob tube. Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.

Kwik mernin', all... Cool down here in da Swamp; but at least no rain. Patched the gravel road yesterday (7 wheelbarrow loads/3 hours). O, my aching back.

Welcome, Mostizzle. What city/town/municipality in SE MI do you call home? Nun of my bid-ness, but inquiring minds want to know. Plus, Dan's liable to have heard of it.

Looks like some dern good grub, Inline.

Headed over to Biloxi today to see Boz Scaggs again... always a great evening of entertainment -- not to mention pounds I'll pack on partaking of a huge seafood platter at McElroy's next door.

London, sorry to hear of that misfortune. Just 'cause I'd prefer you stay out of the clink, I hope the constabulary finds them first, too. But I feel your pain.

Mike, I'm up to 6 Battery Tenders; but I feel as long as I can count 'em, it's not too many. Sure beats buying and jumping batteries.

Y'all have a fab weekend, Olds buds.

Jim, why did you have to bring the rule up?

By those rules, I guess I'm kicked out. I've broken rule 1 many times for long periods and I've flirted with rule 3, but only mentioning tech issues, not asking questions.

Do I get a pass for being the thread starter for the Good morning thread revival?

Winter is back today with light snow and temps below freezing. Only what, 2 more months of this?

John, enjoy the show and food.

That is possible Mike, I was a long time ago.

Inline, that looks good!

Of course I have, it's in S.E. Michigan! I have never been there, been to Detroit many times, mainly for high school football finals and the Detroit Auto show for over 30 years. (N.A.I.A.S.). I was in Ferndale a couple of years ago to visit my aunt & cousin. Of course the '08 Olds Nats. in Dearborn.

Good morning everyone.

Didn't get much done yesterday, just didn't have any energy. Then long about 3 had a nice nap, which ended when the phone rang. I did get some things moved over at the shop.

Questions about batteries. Would a battery go bad just like that? Had the new Cutlass running and driving around, shut it off, started it up to move it for just a second, when I went to start it again, totally dead. Barely a light or a click. Won't jump off. Thought it might be the starter but it isn't. Bad cell all of a sudden? Question 2. Will an AGM battery be bad after sitting a couple years like a lead acid one? The battery in the Saturn has been sitting since the car quit, but wondered if I started charging it if it would come back to life? I know I could just put it on charge and see, but will it be reliable, anybody have any experience? The battery was bought new in 08 for the Corvette, never put it in, then I needed a battery for the Saturn.

Coldish yesterday, probably more of the same. Got more stuff to do at the shop. At least the sun has been out.

Okay Awful house early, have a good day everyone.

Inline, porridge for breakfast? Y'all really need an Awful House over there. If you like taters, you'd love their scattered, smothered and covered hasbrowns

Mike, I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ but have you ever considered sum kinda Excel spread sheet to keep up with all of your batteries

Brian, Me thinks your gonna get sum of the white stuff soon. I gotta beat feet out of de mountains asap

John, I think you've got all the physical abilities for toting concrete block which btw is the hardest part of wall building

Have a great day Olds friends

Ah i love hashbrowns. Wherever their available, i eat them. Yam.

But yea, porridge is pretty usual breakfast at winter here. Its warm and keeps hunger away for long, its healthy ( we dont add butter or jelly etc to porridge) and cheap. Actually i have to admit, even i like few porridges. Add few cups of good coffee with it, and thats it.

Uhh feeling like a fed pig now. Fiancee started to make dinner, and then suddenly she remembers shes soon late from movie where she and her friend were going.
So ended up eating meal for 2..... Now she owns me a beer! That helps alot when stomach is over-full

Got sold my motorcycle helmet. Good, that money goes to summer-trip fund. All boats are already saved for, now collecting to fuel.

Inline, "True Confession "time. Before you started taking about it, the only time I ever heard of Porridge was in the story about the 3 bears

So I had to google it. Wow, every country has their own version. Oatmeal is one of the more popular ones around here.

IMHO grits [cornmeal] is also another type but I didn't see it mentioned

So eating it for breakfast would be perfectly normal

I stand corrected

For change i didnt know oatmeal and porridge is kinda same thing. Had to google too
My favourite is porridge made from rye. Yam. Oh, is rye-bread common on you?
Somehow ive been living in belief that you eat mostly white bread?
Nothing like stone-hard rye-bread with hot soup.
One of our most eaten rye-bread uses phrase " hard as life" as their slogan.

I havent never heard about grits. Had to google that too
Dont look familiar at all, dont even recall hearing ever about anything like that.

hey y'all new kid on the block here. Came across this, and since i'm fixin' to score me another Olds Mobubble (I like the FULL size cars) figure to toss my hat in the ring. I'm Mike, almost 7 decades on this good green earth, have done a lot of restorations over the years, mainly for other people, but now retired since the ticker ain't ticking like it should. The one I'm picking up is going to be my "keeper" (as the wife says my last hurrah!) in my car craziness over the last 60+ years. I'm good on old school diagnostics, and don't mind helping out with acquired knowledge, or looking for parts to try and help keep our fun on the road. Pretty dry sheet metal in Oklahoma, and I may have several other sources to contact to help folks.

Just remember, any day you wake up, some body upstairs must love you.

No drain holes in after market mufflers? Hang them with a slight tip towards the rear of the car, will help water (condensation) drain out after engine warms up. After engine reaches operating temperature should be no problem with condensation.

hello, Inline, long time turning wrenches, about all I can do now is turn the T.V. on and off, and sometimes even that doesn't work. If I can help anybody on the forums, give a shout.

Inline, don't know about the rye bread, but a Ruben on pumpernickel and a cold brew sure hit the spot.
