Hey everyone.

Polar opposite for sleeping today. Got to bed before 8, and the dogs didn't come get me until 130. Got back to bed and they didn't come again until after 4. No phone, no door bell, it was wonderful.

Wow Dan that's some wreck. Bone spurs don't sound like fun. My Mom had them on both feet. I drink a lot of milk I hope they don't start popping up on all my bones when I get old.

So you guys, I need your opinion on a car. The cliffnotes are, it's a 70 Cutlass convertible, 350 4 speed with console, no rust, no damage, older repaint to a generic blue, beautiful interior. Top has a couple spots, not bad. AC, tic toc tac, (uh) tasteful aluminum wheels, Firehawk tires, clutch has 5K miles. He wants 22.5/best offer. I initially thought that was too much, but I like this car and I'm starting to justify it to myself. I couldn't build one for that, it's a 4 speed and they're hard to come by. Relatively close by(Charleston, SC). And actually all the decent cars are going for upper money like this, and I'm not in a hurry to buy another project. So, does it sound like this car is worth the money, and what's a good offer to give him?

Last night of work. I took tomorrow off because I don't think I'd have enough time otherwise to get ready for the roofers. I gotta do something so there's some access on the driveway, and there's a few bushes I need to trim so they don't get totally killed by the tarps of debris. And other items that I always need to do when I have a spare moment. And I just like not going to work.

Adrian sometimes I miss driving a car that gets a lot of attention. Although, sometimes I don't want attention. When I was in high school and drove my Cutlass every day, it was the fastest car I knew. No one ever imagined getting beat by a rusty old 4 door. Ah, youth.

Well, got some cleaning up to do in the kitchen then time to get ready for the night. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend and has lots of fun plans.

Mike, factory 4spd 350's are not that common, let alone in a convert., that price seems a bit high, but of course, I have not seen it.

Evening All!

It was sunny and warmer here today, temps in the high 50's. Still windy though. We had frost overnight, but everything survived. They're calling for it again tonight, so we covered stuff up again.

I went to a small show today over in Brecksville, Had about 50 cars there. I won a $10 gift card, no award. It was a nice day for a show. Got home around 4:00 and finished making up the planters and sorting flowers to take to the cemetery.

Tomorrow is our 6th anniversary, so we're gonna go to the new Horseshoe casino in Cleveland and see what it's like. If I have time when I come home, I'll go to the cemetery. If not, guess I'll go on Monday. I'm tired already.

Well have a good night all.

Evening all. On the way to the southwest corner of Colorado, a blue '76 442 with an OAI hood and a red maple leaf on the front plate passed me in the other direction. Could it be? It was followed by a 55? 88. And a blue CS brought up the rear.

Evening everyone. Made some progress on my Riv, I got the timing chain switched out today. The old one was a little loose, wasn't too bad for 160k on a 307. Since I was already in there, I switched it out anyway.

Cold and rainy here today, felt more like March than May. Better be sunny on Sunday, it's my b'day so I want some nice weather!

Dan - sorry to hear that, hope you're ok.

Scot - nice go cart? Where did you find that?

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I saw a really nice '68 Cutlass Supreme (Sapphire Blue) on the way to work Friday, never saw it around here before, maybe it'll be at a local car show Sunday.

Well, I didn't see the '68 at the car show, but I met Ziff396 there with his Saturn Gold '72 442, a nice car that he painted himself, I think I talked his ears off though!

Hey everyone!

Glorious day here today. Hot, too! In a minute I'm going out to move cars around, best I can, and get stuff ready for the roofers on Tuesday. Got the night off work tonight so I can relax a little. This working four days in a row is the pits.

I emailed the guy with the blue Cutlass and asked where the car was built. He said he had no documentation on it so I thought, if it was built in New Jersey it's been an east coast car and if it was built in Michigan I'd have to look for rust and could expect crusty bolts underneath. He tells me the data plate was missing when he bought it but he didn't care. Is that any kind of big deal, the Fisher Body plate missing? Might be a little more leverage in talking him down. I asked him what the letter in the middle of the VIN is. I assume that plate is still there....

Jamesbo that's some kind of provenance. Perhaps you could start a family tree of the back seat's descendants.

Well Happy Birthday Darrell! Glad you're getting the Riv taken care of.

Hope you win big tomorrow Sandy. And Happy Anniversary. My Grandmother always called Memorial Day, Decoration day.

I forgot all about the Indy 500. I just turned on the TV and saw the winner taking a victory lap in the back of a Camaro. No I won't say who he is in case someone taped it and wants to be surprised. I thought he won before but the announcer just said it was his first time.

Okay better get going. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

Evening All!

Happy birthday, Darrell! Hope you had a good one.

Sunny, windy, and cool here today. Temps around 63. I think there are frost warnings out again tonight, but we didn't cover anything.

We had fun gambling today. We each had $250, and Larry came home with $199, so he did pretty good. I played everything I won right back in, lol. Larry won $165 on the penny slots. We were there about 4 hours. I put my last $5 in a $5 slot machine and it was gone with one pull, lol. It was nice to be in downtown Cleveland. There's a lot of stuff there, lol. I'd like to spend some time there one day. There are places I'd like to see and go into. Being Sunday, there was hardly any traffic, so that was nice. Larry got turned around a couple times trying to get us out of downtown, with the construction and the road closures cause of the filming of Captain America, but we made it out.

Got home and loaded Tincanio with the flowers and tools to go plant in the cemetery. Went and picked up Linda and went to Jean's and on to the cemetery. Got the 5 graves all planted pretty. I need to buy some bags of dirt and take over and put around the flowers. It's been a few years since I've added good dirt to the soil. some of the bulbs are right on top.

We didn't get home until around 9 tonight. I boiled eggs for my tater salad tomorrow. Jean is gonna pick up Lin and come down. I guess Jr. will be coming over too.

Larry got his flowerbed out front all planted. If I have time, I'll do mine tomorrow. I took the 2 planters I made for work down and dropped them off last evening. I went in and turned off the heat too, lol.

Hard to believe tomorrow is my 5th day off work, lol. Sure doesn't seem like I've been off that long, and it sure went fast!

Well have a good night all.

Happy Monday afternoon everyone.

Hope everyone is enjoying this most important of holidays. It's about 90 here and sunny.

I've got most of my stuff moved already and should be ready for the roofers tomorrow. The guys are here today building the back steps. I guess they don't care much for holidays and would prefer to work. I can see that, partying doesn't pay the bills.

Hope you did good on the course, Jamesbo.

Have a good time cruising with Ken, Clint. Is Q your middle initial?

Had a nice dinner with the neighbors last night. Her sister and family were in town and they had their big shindig yesterday. Always a big time. Tonight after these guys leave I'm going to grille myself a steak and share it with the dogs.

Wednesday I thought I'd fly up and see that Cutlass in Charleston. The data plate missing kinda bothers me. Why would anyone take it off? The car isn't a fake of anything, just a Supreme. He sent me the VIN number and it decodes as an early build 70 Cutlass convertible built in Michigan.

Well gotta get back at it. Hope everyone is careful in there activities.

Have a great Memorial Day, Oldsmofolks!

Wow, dat scorpion has some kinda' tail, Clint! ;-) Hope it gets completely better. Maybe she can have some plastic surgery and start back with a blank slate again.

Happy belated b'day, Darrell.

Got the new dishwasher delivered Saturday and they didn't install it worth a plug nickel. They were like Laurel & Hardy. Very sad.... seemed like backups to the backups. Very polite & stuff; but no business installing dishwashers. It would have taken me about 2-3 hours myself, so I let them install it for $50; mistake. It's crooked in the slot (not level at all), and the door won't stay open unless you open it almost half way; to make matters worse, during the second load I ran (last night), I hear the motor (plastic housing now) start whining. So I called GE and they're sending out a tech (hopefully somebody good) on Wed. So now, I have to either miss some work or adjust my work schedule to accommodate these jaboney's.

Mother PLEASE! I'd rather do it myself!!!

My luck was almost as bad as yours, Mike.

Whackum good, Jamesbo.

Sorry you didn't win, Sandy. Easy come, easy go ;-)

Y'all have a great resto' holiday.

Evening All!

Hope all had a good Memorial Day. It was cloudy and we had some on/off rain sprinkles all day. Temps only in the 50's.

I got up this morning and got my tater salad made. Went out and planted the rest of the flowers in my flowerbed by the road. Jean and Lin came down around 1:00. Jr. came over around 3:00. We had a huge meal with steaks, a pork tenderloin, burgers and hot dogs, baked taters, tater salad, baked beans and corn on the cob. Everyone ate waaay too much, lol.

They all took off around 6, and Nicole left too to go to Tony's. I got my hair washed and dried and sat down to watch TV. Back to work tomorrow. I'm sure Brian will counsel me for not telling him I was gonna be off......

I'm taking off at noon on Friday because that's Nicole's graduation. We're gonna go get our hair done. Have to be in Kent at 6:00 that night. She has rehersal Thursday evening.

Well reckon I'll talk to you all tomorrow.

Evening everyone. Thanks all for the B'day well wishes. Had a nice day, got some clothes and a new monitor for my computer. Didn't think a 21" monitor was that big but what a difference. Like having a small tv.

Great day to barbeque here today, 72 and sunny. Made some turkey burgers, chicken breasts and hot sausage.

John - sorry to hear about your dish washer. Sounds like the same people who delivered my dryer a couple of years ago. Guess people don't take pride in their work.

Sandy - I know how you feel about being off from work. Doesn't seem like it has been this long that I have been out of work. Time flies when you get to spend it doing things you want or have to do.

Jamesbro - how'd you shoot?

Mike - that doesn't sound right to me either. Did he explain why the VIN tag was taken off?

Morning all.

Happy belated Darrell. Congrats on the monitor. My first TV was 19" I think, and it weighed better of 60lbs.

Sandy, I hope the week goes fast for you. Glad to hear Nicole is finishing this up. I hope it continues to be a good focus point for her.

John, She's got to go in and get a new cast, as this one is really very loose on her. Then she gets the sutures removed next Monday. We'll have to see what kind of scar is left and what kind of touch up or cover up she needs. That'll be a ways down the road tho.

Mike, We weren't able to get together. It was fun seeing his car go flying past me and thinking I knew who it was. No the Q is for Quad. My screenname is the same with all my forums. I started out running a site for ATV racers, and it was the initials for Colorado Quad Racers.

Have a great short week. all.

Morning All!

Cloudy here, sun is supposed to shine later on. T'storm chances through out the day. Temps in the 50's right now. 74 in here.... I'm getting hot!!!!!!

Clay is off until Thursday. So far so good.... Brian hasn't counseled me about not telling him I was gonna be off. I've just kept him talking about himself ( one of his favorite things to do, lol) and it's working!

Nicole is going to the school this morning, there's some kind of meeting on looking for jobs and what to do at interviews. I told her she should go. It won't hurt, lol.

Clint.... too bad you didn't get to meet up with Ken. That woulda been cool!

Darrell... glad you had a nice b'day.

Jamesbo... hope he didn't mess your car up..... big difference between a Porche and an Olds!

Well you all have a great Tuesday that seems like a Monday, lol.

Good morning from Dallas, been crazy weather here.... rain, clouds, wind... my ex is visiting from San Diego and we haven't even cruised in the new convertible.

Oh well, she will have to come out again.

Did brats on the grill yesterday, mmm mmm

got some new goodies from Fusick, OPGI, JEGS and Summit... woo hoo

Hope everyone has a good day

HEY EVERYBODY!

BOY IS IT LOUD IN HERE. THE ROOFERS ARE HERE AND IT SOUNDS LIKE WORLD WAR THREE!

I may need earplugs before the day is out. They've got a lot done already. I'm glad it's getting done. Gutters next week.

Jamesbo that's too bad about the convertible. If I had to guess I'd say it was operator error. Hope the fix is negligible.

Sandy what is the latest with Nicole moving to Connecticut? Hope that's all behind her and she has good luck at the job fair.

Clint that's funny. I figured those were your initials.

John, I thought saying Dallas and crazy weather in the same sentence was redundant. I flew into Dallas one time, was delayed a long time due to weather. I didn't mind, I was on an L1011.

I'm going over to see a buddy of mine this afternoon. I heard through the grapevine that he got drunk and sat in his car in the garage for two hours last Friday night. Yes the car was running. I'm wondering what happened after two hours if he got bored or the car ran out of gas or what. He hasn't had the easiest life, I hope this isn't the first in a string of real attempts. What troubles me more than this, is how casually people talk about it. Well, that's Stockbridge.

Okay! The noise makers are going to lunch soon, I hope, so I got a couple phone calls to make while they are gone. Hope everyone is having a good Tuesday/Monday.

Apparently he is not a German(technical type) himself, other wise he would have checked to see if it was getting gas in a smarter, simpler manner (looking down the carb while working the throttle cable). Good thing he didn't need better lighting, and ask for a match!

Well it got muggy as heck here, but not as bad as it's gonna be later in the week. It's about 74 outside, it's 78 in here! I'm dying..... Brian must be comfy though, cause he hasn't turned on the AC yet.

It's quiet in here without Clay. I'm gonna go sit at his desk awhile cause it's cooler out there by 5 degrees. It's a very slow boring day......

Jamesbo..... you crack me up! My first holiday dinner when I was dating Larry was Easter... so he invites Nicole and I over for dinner. Ok... when I get there, his ex wife AND her mother were both there! Talk about weird. All they did was insult each other, lol. It's not like his kids were little and he had to be nice, lol. They were in their late 20's.....

Larry bought the house in May of 1999. I moved in in October 1999. Thanksgiving 1999 guess who he invited to dinner?? The ex and her mother! I never saw anything like it..... To this day I still don't think he's over the fact that she left him. I've never figured it out. I know she kinda wore the pants when they were married; he catered to her every whim. I think that's why he's mean like he is now. It's like now he has to prove that HE'S the one who's going to be the boss and controlling everything. I really believe that. It messed with his head.

Mike.... glad they're getting your roof done! As for Nicole..... we were talking in the car on the way home from the cemetery Sunday, and she said that moving to Conn. would be stupid, but "what if" she had a great opportunity up there and she missed it? I said you can't 'what if' you're whole life. No one ever knows... what if my neice would have left home 3 minutes sooner or later than she did that fateful day. Would she still have been in the accident that killed her? You never know. So hopefully she is thinking on this. She said Devon wouldn't be happy. I said tell Devon to leave his friends and family and move down here. Of course he doesn't want to come to Ohio.... I don't know. I just keep bit*hing at her.

Afternoon, all... decent enough day in the swamp; 'twas 67 this morning, 'tho a bit muggy. Spose to get up to close to 90 today, with 20% chance of wet stuff for good
measure.

Jamesbo, sometimes marriage (and staying married) carries a high price. I guess I'm lucky, since my better half would never dream of asking to take my toy out without
its "real" owner.... But ya' gotta' do what ya' gotta' do. Hope it's nuttin' serious.

Towing an oldie comes with its own set of risks, too. I remember having my '73 Delta towed (after I screwed it up!) and the fiberglass nose panel cracked in two. As for your predicament, my worst fear would be taking the "monkeying around" part literally; a lot of dem out dare.

BTW, I posted a "parts-wanted" ad for a set of 15" stock 5x5 wheels in good shape for my SF. Any leads appreciated! PM me if you know of anything. Thanks.

evening to all! I never posted on this part of the forum before. I was wondering what happened to Allan R, then I back tracked to his last post on 5-2-13 that he was all done! Sorry for my lateness, I have had two sales records in the last 60 days been quite busy.

Well my friend, I was hoping to meet you some day either at a national or here in Lansing, MI. I hope that everything is well and you sort out your issue and please check in with us time to time to see how your doing.

I always looked forward to your posts and your diplomacy towards others.
Still amazed at 7.18 posts per day after being gone for 26 days.

Happy trails and hopefully will meet before the big bone yard in the sky gets us!

Regards,

Pat

Mornin all.

Welcome Pat II.

Rainin this morning. gonna be nice and cool the next coupla days. The missus has to go get a semi load of big bales tomorrow. So I spose I'll have to get up earlier than normal. I think shes leaving around 3. Then she has to go pick up the new burro on Friday.

The Kid should be able to put a halter on her new mule today. I'm surprised how quick its getting accustomed to people. So far so good.

Good luck with the started Jamesbo, Don't pull anything.

We fenced off half the yard on Monday. The wife was letting the orchard grass grow so she could cut it, dry it and feed it to our critters. That didn't work out, so shes just letting then out to graze in the morning for about 3 hours. That should keep the hay usage down and we can get some use out of our lawn instead of mowing and throwing the clippings away.

Have a great Wednesday all.

Morning All!

Muggy and partly sunny here this morning. Temps around 75 degrees already. My kind of temps! Supposed to have storm chances this morning and later this evening. Don't know about Chick Fil A tonight....

We had several hard rains yesterday. We needed it though. The dirt when I was planting was just like powder. I worked outside last night until dark, yanking weeds and that friggin smelly viney stuff that gets everywhere and has a gazillion roots and it takes over the beds. I call it creepin charlie, but I don't know what it is. I hate it!!

Another quiet day in here. Not busy at all. Except Brian.... he's always 'buried', lol. It's hot in here of course. I turned on my fan right after I walked in just to circulate the air. Steve has his heater on of course, and it's 76 in here.....

Pat.... welcome to our thread! I still like my brick, lol.

Jamesbo... I went out last night and yanked some of the radishes out. I guess they're 'thinned', lol. I didn't know how many to take out. My beans look like they got some frost, so do the maters. Even though I covered them. I think they'll be alright. I keep sprinklin snail/slug stuff around the edges of my little garden. Dammned things are everywhere!

Well you all have a good humpday!!!

Happy Humpin'

Mornin', folks. Whelp, da GE man just left and he leveled the machine and adjusted the door springs so that it would stay open as prescribed. He also said since this was a brand new type and model, he didn't know if the whine I hear was normal or not. So he ordered me a new motor and said he'd be back next week to install it. I'm bracing myself for it to be "normal." Too bad... it really seems like they've cheapened them up, in every respect but price. Thank goodness they actually seem to do a decent job at getting dishes clean . The motor housings are actually plastic now. Pretty incredible. Whole door and tub are plastic. They whole unit weighs 70 lbs. Whelp, I guess I'll be buying a new one in 5-8 years, which is the designed lifespan nowadays. Easy come, easy go.

Good luck w/ the starter, Jamesbo.

Staying home and taking LWOP today. What the heck; get an early taste of retirement

Welcome aboard, Pat II. We all miss Allan. Don't be a stranger!

Have a great humpity, folks. Cow flirtin' w/ flat rock today and tomorrow in the swamp. They're sayin' 50%.

It's a nice 88 degrees outside now! Windy as heck too. Still hot in here, at 77 degrees. Steve had his heater on all morning and through lunch! There's gotta be something wrong with him..... I have a wet paper towel on the back of my neck, lol. The AC just doesn't seem to be cooling it off in here. But Brian is comfy so the hell with me, lol. Brian's stress level has been going up all day.... don't know how he's soooo busy, Clay hasn't had hardly any emails today.

Gonna go get my hair done tonight for graduation instead of waiting until Friday afternoon. I don't want to be pushing it and Larry getting all bit*hy and impatient - which he will be anyhow, lol. So I'm not gonna make it to Chick Fil A tonight. It's looking good tomorrow for Bellacino's though.

Glad you got your dishwasher fixed, John.

Afternoon to all! Thanks for the warm welcomes. Hot dry and dusty here received 3.5 inches of rain at my house since 2 P.M. Monday.

Been busy on delivering new units and getting new ones equipped to customer specs.

Olds homecoming is fast approaching 6-15-13, any of you fellers/gals heading up this way?

Sandy, glad you are enjoying the brick, mine sits about 4 feet behind me at work.

Scot, I will run into you more often on the Olds trivia thread.

Well gotta get heading to the gym in about an hour. Take care all!

Hey everyone and glad to see you over here Pat II.

The roof is done and looks great. They replaced 9 sheets of plywood. When they were finished they cleaned up and you can't tell they were ever here. Very impressive.

I did go to see the car today. What a beauty. The generic blue turned out to be Marina blue, which is a favorite of mine, I don't think Olds had a version of Marina blue. Looks good on it. I may have been looking at SBC's too long but I could swear the engine was a 455. Maybe because it was painted blue. It looked pretty wide, I'll have to look at the engine in my Cutlass. Ran good, shifted good, body looked good, the only thing that really needed some attention was the top motor leaks. Hm, come to think of it I didn't even put up the top. It was such a nice day and it was so enjoyable driving in a convertible I didn't even think about it. Jamesbo the guy showed me the flyer from when he bought it and it said M-21. I could hear a slight whine while driving slowly, but other than that, I thought those were really noisy all the time.

Well I just picked up the dogs and they are glad to get home. It's hot outside and they ran after that doof next door, whom I'm hoping is going home tonight. They stretched their legs for sure. I think we will all sleep good tonight.

John what is LWOP?

Safe trip for the bales, Clint.

Think I'll fix something to eat and then figure out if I want to do anything tonight or just veg. I have a feeling I know what I'll decide on.

Mike, dat's leave w/out pay... I lose the $$$, 'cause I ain't got no mo vacation time accrued due to my horrible attitude
Glad to hear about the roof; so all's well that ends well, in this case, hopefully.
Sounds like a nice car!

On a more "sour" note, it appears Smithfield -- a name I've always respected for some reason -- is being sold to a Chinese interest. I remember well the Smithfield BBQ cartoon when I was a kid at the drive-in, which featured Capt. John Smith and Pocahontas!!! Couldn't get much more American that that....

Or how about this one:

Another one bites the dust.

Good evening everyone.

I know I haven't mentioned work in a while. I've been working, but on short term contracts one after another. But this week I finally got a year long position At least no more worrying about what's happening every couple of months.

Mike, that sounds like a nice car. I did a quick search for Marina Blue Chevelle, and if what I found is the same colour you are talking about, it might be close to the Oldsmobile Viking Blue for '71-72 (not sure about availability in 1970).

Welcome aboard Pat #2. I attended the Homecoming last year, but won't be going this year. I hope to attend again the future. You might see me in the trivia thread too. Finally saw a question I think I know the answer too.

John, how did retired-for-a-day go?

Scot, congratulations on the promotion for the better half.

Good luck with the starter Jamesbo.
