Well the weekend, for all intents and purposes, is done. No bobbing for booze because a monsoon moved in and the lake gets real rough when it rains, plus wind, so we all sat around watching it rain. Had a nice dinner and the president of the club runs on too much. Said good bye to a bunch of people, and the plan is to leave fairly early in the morning. It's a long drive home.

Glad I'm off Monday to sort of decompress. Also the car will be due for an oil change in 40 miles, so I'll do that Monday. Then back to work Tuesday. Then finish the mowing and the painting of the bathroom in the evenings and off to get Mom Friday. And somewheres in there pick Tiger up, drop Tiger off.

It's been a nice weekend, but I'm done with it. I'm not a real friendly guy and having to smile and say hi and make small talk with a bunch of people I don't know/know very little gets to be a bit taxing.

And now I'm beat. Have a good night everyone.

Good evening guys,

Must be a slow day for everyone. I haven't done **** except for my cardio workout.

Dawn has been so busy painting she hadn't done the weekly house cleaning for our neighbor down the street, so that's what she did today. Since I knew she was exhausted I offered to go get Chinese. I got 2 St. Paul sandwiches, and Pork fried rice, along with Crab Rangoon for us to share (pic). For those of you who may not be familiar with St. Paul sandwiches, here is an explanation:
"The St. Paul sandwich is named after the hometown (St. Paul, MN) of its alleged creator, Steven Yuen, who is said to have invented it in the 1940's while working at Park Chop Suey in St. Louis, Missouri. The sandwich is a St. Louis specialty, featuring an egg foo young patty served on white bread with typical sandwich toppings." I will add the egg foo young patties are offered with.various meats cooked.in the patty including: beef, chicken, shrimp, or in my case ham. At most places that I've bought them from, there are also a light spread of mayo, lettuce, and dill pickle chips, which is what was on mine tonight. They are absolutely delicious!

Hope everyone has had a great day and hopefully Mike gets back from OH without incident.

Hi everyone.

Left at 9 straight up this morning and walked into the house at 630. Not a bad ride, no bad weather. Stopped several times because I could. Saw one lady this morning and said goodbye to her then snuck out.

Went to Mom's first to check out the place, then came home. The water heater was turned off at the box and the gas, so no pressure. The pan was full and water all over the floor. Not coming from the tank drain, coming from underneath, filling the pan that spills out into the pan I put down, then spilled over it and onto the floor. So the fix for that is a new water heater I'm not messing with it.

Now about Mom's house. I left the ac set at 80. It was 88 in the house. I went in the bathroom and turned the light on, and after a couple minutes the light went out. Flipped the switch for the fan and the fan ran at part power. Went back into the kitchen, lights were fine. Went back in the bathroom lights were fine. Fixed a little something to eat, opened the fridge and the light was dim. Fridge made an odd "click" and the light went bright. It sort of cycled dim light bright light. When the light was dim the bathroom light didn't work. Everything else was normal, save for the ac wouldn't come on.

Now this was really weird. I mowed before I left, and tonight I saw impressions in the grass from a fairly large dually. It had backed between the fence and the carport down to a pole which it couldn't get past. My first thought was someone raided the ac unit and screwed something up. AC unit looks fine. Nothing looks out of place where power goes into the house. I'm going to call the power company tomorrow and ask them if they had a service tech to my house between today and Thursday. I'm also going to ask them about my weird power problem. If I don't get anywhere with them I'll call cable TV. They leave a note though if no one's home. I bought camera's to put up a few years ago and never got around to it. Guess what's going up now.

Chris the chinese food looks good. Is Dawn painting with a tooth brush? She's been at it for weeks. Where's the daughter?

Okay gotta unpack then I think I'll just hit the sack. I'm tired and there's nothing really to do at this point. Hope everyone has a good night.

This higher amount of muscle mass leads to a higher metabolism burning more calories throughout the day to keep those muscles working. 3rd, my workout schedule of 3 days of high intensity cardio, and 3 days of intense lifting per week maintains the muscle mass, and burns enough calories on my cardio days to often put me into a caloric deficit on any given day. Retirement centers are some of the best car show places as the people are polite and restrained.

Did you lose a phase? That is like when I lost half of my 60 amp 220 breaker out back.

Mike - Get someone out there to checkout your main service panel. Be forewarned - the power company is only responsible for the service drop, the meter, and the point of connection. All else is the homeowners' responsibility. Don't hold expectation(s) the power company is going to diagnose/troubleshoot anything past the point of connection. I'd have a certified electrician ready to call.

Went to H/OCA nationals these past few days. I had banged on the 72 doing a very fast brake line job. Needed to be done as one was swollen shut, however, I think the drive shaft has lost its weight as I still have the rumble at 80 mph. Regardless, after a test drive, off I went the next morning after not having ran the car for nine months prior to the night before (not recommended).

Drove warmly, but with no issues, up to Chicago. I noticed my temp was climbing a little at a light, so I spun the fan at the next gas stop and I think the clutch is going. I braved the Chicago tollways and got stuck in a major backup in a major storm. Other than a flooded trunk, the car did ok even running defrost with the compressor. Got to the hotel and had a fun night.

We went to Union Grove, WI, the Great Lakes Dragaway, the next day. I photoed a lot of drag racing. That night was a car show with locals. On Saturday, we did the business meeting, the auction, the forum on the 75 H/O, and the banquet dinner and awards. Drank beer. I shot something like 2500 pictures. The 300 mm lens was too much for the stands to the drag strip line, so I shot the 200. Later, I got closer and shot with the 50. Did some wide angle stuff with the 28, and some macro stuff with the 55 macro. I used the 90 mm a little. Did not use the 35 wide angle. Drove home today, through another storm. The car is going to Keith Stockburger's Miller Restorations at some point to fix a few things. I was hunting for ethanol free gas and found some in Kenkahee, IL. It was 110 octane and pricey. I booted the car and all the timing problems, pings, and clatter was gone. This thing is set up for race gas. I need to dial it down a bit, but, holy moly, it pulled on the good stuff.

Back home, car unloaded, and drying with a fan and dehumidifier.

Great Lakes Dragway, Union Grove, WI, is a great place - been there many times always a ton of fun. Wow - 110 octane & no more pitter patter. Now, that's awesome.

Mike - I'm really sorry you had to come home to all the home issues, especially the A/C, that sucks. I hope you can get it fixed soon!

As far as Dawn painting, you have to remember it's one person, painting maybe 3 or 4 days a week, the entire interior of a 1,700 sqft home, including all the window trim, doors, and baseboards. All of this required 2 coats. She also elected to paint the front door and the faux front window shutters, and is now staining the deck in the back. The daughter has been around, but Dawn told her that she was fine doing it by herself as a present to them. I'm staying out of the matter.

Tee-time 9:00 am tomorrow morning. It will be blistering hot. I hit five golf ***** into the 10 acre field behind my house yesterday. I'm not about to go to the driving range to practice in all this heat - no thanks.

Mike - I was thinking about the impressions in the grass of a fairly large dually. Any chance it might have a been a power company truck? Is there a utility pole back there? Maybe they bungered up one of your service lines.

Norm that's what I started thinking, it was the power company backed up to the pole. But there isn't a lot to do up there, so who knows. But definitely something was there after I left Thursday morning. I realize they won't do any work after the meter, but I can ask them if someone was out. They have to log everything or they don't get paid.

Chris maybe you'd like to help Dawn? No? Are you still looking after your grandsons in the mornings?

I wouldn't have been surprised to find Mom at home when I got home, but alas she wasn't. When I talked to her she said staying two weeks was a week too long, though. I asked how her stay was going, and just from listening to her I'm afraid she's going to alienate half the family. Eh, nothing I can do about it.

Thinking I'll take an extended road trip through the mid-west. A 55 yr. invitation only H.S. class reunion at a friend's home in Elburn, Illinois (August 17th). Sounds like a good time. Grab a rental car, drag my clubs along, get some games in w/ cousins, friends, etc. in Illinois & Wisconsin.

Mike - Actually, she's getting close to being done now. If she'd asked for my help I certainly would have. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that Dawn likes being in control of her projects, if you know what I mean. It's not easy to live up to her quality standards, and I think she likes to be able to say she did it herself.

Mike - The service drop (to your house) consists of two insulated 110 VAC (power) lines & one uninsulated aluminum neutral conductor. I'm betting you have a bad (source) neutral conductor or an open (source) neutral conductor on the power company's side. Since you're off tomorrow, take a walk & have a gander at the uninsulated neutral conductor "crimp" where your neutral conductor connects to the power company's neutral connector. Normally there should be one "crimp" connector, but I've seen more than one on occasions. Those things wear & present issues exactly as the type you're describing. You might (likely) find another "crimp" on the neutral conductor where it meets/attaches to the transformer &/or power company's main neutral conductor. They can easily test for a bad neutral conductor on the source (power company) side.

We all have our burdens to bear don't we??? No wonder I prefer to go by Chris though right? LoL I've known a couple of guys who had it much worse though, and ya just had to wonder what in the **** their parents were thinking? There was a neighbor near my parents house whose name was Harry Ball, and I know of a doctor here in StL by the name of Richard Head!

Good morning everyone.

I slept real good, even though I didn't have twenty pillows and a comforter about 9 inches thick. Just glad to be home.

I'm a guy with no arms and no legs halfway down Tina Turner's throat.

We had a lead at work Tony Hock. Right there on his badge was his real name. MIchael.

Norm you may be on to something. There is a "tree" growing up against the side of the house. I think it started out as a weed and turned into a tree. It's about 8 inches in diameter and has grown inside the power lines going from the pole to the house. Last night I noticed the lines are stretched and bowed around the tree, maybe a foot or so before they go into that connecter thing. I had the thought sometime over night that when the tree sways(you can hear it creaking) it pulls on the wire and pulls it out of the socket, and when the tree sways back the wire goes back in. I have no reason or excuse as to why I haven't taken this down years ago. One thing I do know is I have to get this fixed post haste so I can call the AC guy. I don't want to fix the AC and then find out this electrical problem fried something and have it happen again. So today I'll get out the chainsaw and start hacking away at the tree. That will be fun.

Get to go get Tiger today. I've missed him something terrible. One thing I didn't see in Ohio was people out in the serious heat with their dogs. Around me people have their dogs out no matter how hot it is, and walking across the hot pavement. There should be dog police that make the people take their shoes off and walk barefoot on the hot pavement. Then they might get the picture.

Okay gotta find time sometime this week to finish the bathroom. And clean up the car. And mow. Not necessarily in that order. But time's a-wasting. Hope everyone has a good day.

I was photoed coming home from Nationals south of Chicago. I may be missing brake light diffusers. My car is recognizable as the deck lid emblem is in an alternate location, my door logos are crooked, the top has extra padding, and I'm the only one with year of manufacture plates that still have the expiration stickers on them that I have seen.

This car is Vigo County, DMV C, 3548. My Monte Carlo is 3550. 3549 is too rusty to use. These were all my grandfather's tags.

Norm - That's a shame the company sucked! That alone can make all the difference.

John - That photo demonstrates Route 45 which to us loco yokos is referred to as Mannheim Road. Maybe you were on a side street or a detour to Route 45. That area around Lagrange, Rosemont & Schiller park is awfully busy w/ traffic & I think Mannheim (Route 45) is at least four lane divided and in many areas six lane divided. Traffic abounds around that area for sure.

Chris, a H/OCA member posted them on our Facebook page so I snagged them. I think Chicago Tollways can't understand that plate. We'll see if they find me this time.

Norm, correct. I was coming down 294 and got off early per the GPS. I went through Chicago Heights and other areas before busting out into the cornfields. Route 45 goes to Tupelo, MS, amongst other places, which is where I built a car plant about 15 years ago.

John - Nice of him to post them where you could grab them. Yes, it will be interesting to see if they find you? I sure hope the MF'ers don't! Seems like every frickin entity on the planet wants their pound of flesh these days!
