It's worth noting that the 67 heater delete positive credit option on these put a rubber cap on the water pump and a pipe plug in the intake, per another user here. There should be nothing wrong with your method, but look at them for pre flight inspection.

At some point, you can pull it and send it off to be recored, or find an original to be recored, or even one in good shape. Depends on what core is in there. Removing it is more of a pain in the *** than something that is hard. My van has been bypassed for years, you get enough heat being a foot from the block. I need to fix it.

Road Hazard warranty is pretty much like what it sounds like. If you purchase the warranty on a new set of tires, and are driving it the next day and run over something sharp that destroys the tire, they would put a brand new tire on for you. These warranties are usually prorated, so if the tire had a 50K-mile manufacturer tread warranty on it, and you had put 25K-miles on the tire when it was destroyed, they would put a new tire on for you, but you would have to pay half of the price of the new tire because you had already used up half the normal life of the tire.
Ok Chris , never heard about Road Hazard Warranty here. We have also had some cold with fever and a
cough "from h+ll " 24/7 but we are feeling better now. Your engine compartment looks great , must be nice
to live in a area where you donīt need heatercore. We have no snow here now but it have been snow chaos
on other roads in the country , many trucks from baltic states have really bad tires for snow.

There was an really bad accident caused by a drunk driver from Poland this summer , a 10 year boy lost
both his parents when they should visit a big carmeet for US cars here this summer.
So sad when accidents like this happens.

Have always liked the Valiants , but not many of these still on the roads here. I used mine as a daily driver all year round and
the car worked well with a good heating system. Had 225 + 904 in that -71 Valiant. Sadly the owner after me rolled the car
in a accident so it,s now a parts car.

Glenn - Sorry to hear you and your wife have also been ill. What my wife has sounds just like what you guys had. This morning is the first day in a week that she's said she thinks she feels a little better.

There have been several places here in the States where there has been significant snowfall already in the Northern States, and at higher elevations. I'm just glad we don't get much here in St. Louis. I've left out early in the morning for Car Shows before when there was a frost on the ground, but knew it was going to at least get up to 50°F during the day.

Greg - Yes, you and John made a good point about a pair of extra caps. I bought what I believe are high quality ones, but better safe than sorry. It's a shame they're 2 different sizes, coming off the waterpump is 3/4, back of the intake is 5/8, so I'll need to buy one of each.. This brings up another issue, the cap on the back of the intake is a long reach. I'll need to pack an extra long screwdriver to get the wormgear clamp off.

We're kind of ready for Thanksgiving. This will be the 1st year since we've been married (2010) that Dawn isn't cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner. We're going to her Brother's house for Thanksgiving. She is cooking a Turkey that we're taking, it's in the refrigerator thawing now. I'm glad she's not going to have to cook a whole bunch of stuff just for the two of us.

Grandson Gabe got team MVP today in his team's 6-1 win. He had a hat-trick and 1 assist. He has been playing incredible the last 3 or 4 games. Unfortunately, I missed his great game, opting out because I feel like I'm coming down with what my wife has. I didn't think I'd feel too great sitting in a freezing ice rink.

Good morning everyone.

Lunch is just ending. The guy that sits across from me is gone this week so I have two wall guys. Have 33 wheels signed, that's pretty good.

Looks like a proud boy there with his victory belt Chris. I have a feeling he'll go far in life.

Glenn what a terrible wreck. I'd say that car was a Buick but I can't be sure. Hope the guy from Poland gets what's coming to him.

So the tree remains. The adjuster for the chain on my saw stripped, so I ordered some replacement parts online and they should be here next week. So for now I'll just trim what I can with giant loppers and get out the shredder. I may need to redo the mailbox, it isn't too sturdy all of a sudden. I have a new one to put up anyway.

Chris I think I'm gonna take a page from your book and buy tires from Walmart. I don't have to get super expensive tires for the Valiant, and even with the extra fees and things WM charges extra for, they are still less than cheep tires anywhere else. And I'm not going to get " these aren't the original size for your car" because I put in what size I wanted and it popped up a dozen different ones that all said, this is a good fit for your Valiant. They are Douglas tires and I believe it had Douglas on it when I bought it years ago. Hm.

Okay it's after noon because I've taken a half hour to do this, but I'm not going to change the top line. I've been talking instead of doing my work. That's okay, I'll catch up.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike - I agree, I think Gabe will do well in life. He has several positive role models and a good head on his shoulders.

Like I mentioned previously, Walmart generally is the cheapest place I've found for tires, as long as they have a Brand/style of tire you can live with. I have no complaints about any of the tires I've bought there.

Sorry about your chainsaw breakdown, I hope you get your replacement parts soon so you can finish the rest of the clean-up. Sounds like a heck of a mess!

Good morning everyone.

Rain to start out with, but I think it is done, at least for the day. Not a bad temp for November.

Had breakfast this morning at work. Eggs, bacon, sausage, home fries, grits(yikes) it wasn't bad. That was at 830 and we're still on break(it's 945 right now). Better than serving lunch and then that would be it for the day.

Glenn is that the same car in the second picture? Damn shame. We always heard the old cars were safer because there was more metal. But just imagine all that energy being transferred to the passengers, especially if the car crumpled that much. Prayers for the boy for sure, gonna grow up now without parents.

Did some work on the tree yesterday. Got quite a bit shredded but boy howdy this is going to take weeks. Maybe I could rent one of those big shredder things like the road crew uses, I wouldn't have to worry about cutting things up so finely. We rented one of those for the lake once, it sure makes short order of things.

Picking up Sonny's barbeque after work. That's going to be Thanksgiving for us. Can't wait. Tiger went to Mom's this morning because I don't know how long it's going to take to order it. I can't imagine too long, if we went to eat there and ordered two plates it wouldn't take too long.

Okay things seem to be ramping back up. Hope everyone has a good day.

Yes Mike , it,s the same car. The polish men had an VW so the Buick was just trashed and the people in the VW survived.
6.20 in you can se the Buick interior in the video and also the VW that did an overtaking ( ? ) and caused an frontal collision.
Both parents in the Buick Super -55 got terrible injuries. Their dog was shot immediately. I think the boys aunt took care of him.

Thanks John! Yep, he'd better learn multiple poses because I'm betting that won't be the only time that belt comes home with him this season.

So, we're suppposed to have lake effect snow coming Thursday night through Sunday. Two Grand Rapids news stations with two very different forecasts. One says 2-6" possible during this time period, which at it's northern boundary is where I'm at in Muskegon, and stretches down to the K-zoo, Three rivers area. The other station shows us getting 9"+ with some spots getting 12". Hmm, big discrepency. Nevertheless, the oil in the snowblower was changed, and it fired up on the first pull. We shall see.

Dan - I hope the station with the lower snowfall prediction is correct. The overnight lows are supposed to be in the mid-teens Friday thru Sunday nights here, but no moisture coming thru which I'm thankful for! Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving!

Good morning everyone.

We're starting an hour early, presumably so we can get out an hour early and start our long weekend early. Really the lead wants to leave early, but I'm sure he'll be long gone by 130.

Glenn I wasn't quite getting that video. It was just the same few pictures over and over, and hard to see with that "arrow" in the middle of it. Maybe my computer just isn't playing nice with the video. Tragic any way you look at it. I would have guessed the Buick would have done better.

Worked a little more on the tree yesterday. It's going away slow but sure. Should have chainsaw parts next week.

So remember, about two weeks ago, I took the SRX in to the mechanic to fix that sensor problem? Well I still don't have it back. They wanted to let it sit a couple days to see if the battery was draining. Nope it wasn't. They wanted to replace the battery anyway. Nope. So they were going to check grounds. I don't know why they don't just replace the sensor the code says is bad. Well that's it for that place. I'm going to go pick the car up and I don't know what. Really the only thing I can do is take it to Cadillac, at about a buck fifty an hour. There isn't any other place I'd take it for that kind of problem. I owe too much to trade it off.

Dan I hope both stations are wrong and you don't get snow at all. I'm twitching just thinking about it.

Well we'll see what goes on in a few minutes when things get going. The lead is sweeping right now, no doubt so he can yammer on about how we should be better at housekeeping. He doesn't do anything unless he can bitch at us about it.

Okay have a good day everyone. And don't forget to go out and get hammered tonight since you don't have to go to work in the morning. Sheesh.

Hi Mike , the video was a recording from the trial and witnesses what has happend. So it was most the talking
that was intresting but i posted it because the interior of the Buick shows .

Do you have any pic of your Valiant ? Would be nice to se what chainsaw you have.
Had this "oldtimer" started up here now ( Jonsered 52E )

I need to get some pictures of the Valiant. It needs a good wash, then I'll get some glamor shots.

My saw is a Husqvarna 450 Rancher. Twenty inch bar. It isn't a bad machine but I would have been better off buying a cheep saw every couple years than buying an expensive one that has the same problems.

Boy did I call it. The lead stood up and went on at length about how we need to clean up after ourselves and made it sound like the place was so filthy he didn't have a choice but to sweep himself. That's all well and good but this is a place where people work, things get dirty, and we're not going to sweep every 5 minutes. Besides, the other side of that sword is if we did take the time he thinks we should, he'd be bitching that we aren't working. He just wants to hear his head rattle.

Yep it's time for snow here, huh, Dan? But it sure has been nice-excellent September, October . Ground isn't frozen yet as it usually isn't on 1st snowfall- what a mess trying to snowplow or blow at barn and gravel drive. It's all good,,, Tomorrow is Thanksgiving- lots to be thankful for- for sure. Put F100 in my shop and started my winter projects on it- replacing clutch/brake pedal assembly, replacing worn F100 steering gear box with a 1956 F350 gear box, and fixing parking/emergency bracket/ ratcheting latch. All easy slow stuff. I may go ahead and replace oil pan cuz it leaks at plug (stripped out and has a oversize thread fitting with a smaller plug in it). If I do that a MAW check main and rod bearings and change them if needed....Those MAW's.... I may also try to fix the cracks in the old steering wheel- lotsa time for those type piddly projects. Hope you all have a very nice Holiday with family and friends!!

Glenn, that wreck is awful. These old cars are not as safe as newer ones in terms of crash protection. It's a risk you mitigate by driving them less, but, wrecks can come whenever. Nice old saw. Mine's a mid 80s Stihl from West Germany. Needs carb work.

Mike, take that WRX to the good place, but say that you are paying for a fix, not just work that doesn't fix the issue. So, they need to diagnose, guarantee that it will fix it, before they start, otherwise that work price applies to the actual fix later.

Greg, I think every car I own needs work. I also need to move out of a couple storage units.

Jim, give them hell.

Well I would have lost that bet. About 930 this morning the lead tells us to work through lunch and we'll leave at 1130. I said, what do you bet he's gone by 10? Not only did he stay till the end, we left at 11:15. I hiked off to Awful house for a rare mid-week visit.

Jim good luck with the vein surgery. Wish I was closer so I could help you out. I'd still run up if you called. How's that Blazer in Virginia?

So I took Tiger to jail this afternoon. I said he still was scratching and I wanted a specific doctor to look at him and find something successful. The doctor actually called me this evening to tell me what she found, ask me a couple questions, and tell me what she plans to do. This is why I tell them she's the only one I want looking at him. The other guy is a doofus. She said he's reacting to something and has an infection in the skin on his stomach. She's going to do a steroid to begin with and antibiotics. He'll have medicine to take when he comes home. I hate him not being here. Mom says I will sleep good tonight without any interruption. Nope, I'll wake up thinking where's Tiger.

Okay Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope everyone has a great day and has lots to be thankful for. I've got plenty.

Yes Koda , wrecks can come whenever on bikes and cars. Trying to avoid high speed roads with my Oldsmobiles.
Intresting with a Stihl from the 80s I have an US made saw here Homelite C9 from the early 60s.

Mike , a pic of the Valiant would be nice wow 20 inch long bar , have only 13 inch bar here .

Gobble Gobble everyone!

Been a funny day. I slept in, did a bunch of housework, worked on cars a little, did some filing. All very easy. I missed my helper. It's a different quiet when he's not there. But it was nice to go in and out of the house and go to Awful house without worrying about him having to stay behind.

Was raining this morning but turned into a sunny and fairly warm day. I didn't get anything done to the tree today, that's okay. Supposed to be cold the rest of the weekend. Haha I'll be in Florida.

Mom is heating up our ribs now. We'll eat in a little while. Hope everyone has a nice day.

Well, I got about 4" of snow but, Wolf Lake, which is 15 minutes east of me, got 11". As usual, the typical "I forgot how to drive in the snow" people were in the ditches and medians.

I talked to my Sis this afternoon and she said they had about 3-inches on the ground, and the secondary roads are snow covered and slick. It was still snowing steadily when I called around around 2pm. We're supposed to get a few flurries tomorrow, but little to no accumulation because the ground is still so warm.

Well, the Lions and the Chiefs both squeaked by with wins, but hey, a win is a win. Still hoping for a Lions/Chiefs Super Bowl. I would not be disappointed with either team winning, but I will be rooting for the Lions if they make it. I'm excited for all the Lions fans up there that they finally have a real contender to root for.

Hi everyone.
First day(for me) at the Turkey Rod Run. As usual, tons of cars and a huge swap meet. Overcast and a bit chilly, last year we were sweating buckets.
Nice ride down this morning. The Charger is comfortable and drives nice.
Just got back from dinner. Gonna hit the sack early, more walking tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good evening. This trying to post on my phone is annoying as hell. I apologize for any mistakes, the words are way to small to proofread.

Mike glad you had a safe trip down there and you're having a nice time. Hope the weather is nicer for you tomorrow and safe travels home!

Took the grand kids to watch the Oregon state Beavers play the Boise State Broncos in Boise. Game time was 10:00am and when we got there it was 20° and it warmed up to around 35° by the end of the game.
The bleachers were very cold to sit on and had frost on them when we got there. We were some of the few Black and Orange fans among the Blue and Orange Fans.
The Beavers ended up losing 34 to 18.
My grand kids had a good time, it was there first game.

Chris, the Lions got lucky, bad coaching by the now former head coach, but like you said, a win is a win. G.R. ended up with 9.5", ******* got 24.8". They can keep it.
