Mike - I take mine to Batteries + Bulbs. They only charge you for the battery and replace it for free while retaining all of your data. An, this is while you wait - about 10'-15'.
Mike - Don't remove your phone battery UNLESS you know what you're doing. You could lose all your contacts, phone numbers information etc.
X 2 Mike, I took mine to a battery store and the guy messed up my phone As usual, I asked a 16 yo bag boy to fix it. The store had screwed up the date[s] so even though it has [as example "recent calls} ] it was not showing them to me because the date was FUBAR
Norm. Chris, My 2500 Cheby 4X4 crew cab just hit 310,000 miles. Last year, I put a fuel pump on it, a new power steering pump and this year a new crank case sensor
These parts totaled wouldn't pay the sales tax on a new truck
James - That's a helluva truck pardner! I'm just closing in on 100K-miles on mine. After I sold my boat and travel trailer (casualties of my divorce and putting the girls through college), haven't put much mileage on it the last 11-years.
The snowblower was picked this pm. Hopefully nothing too serious. I was going to buy a new Toro this year, but just like everything else the price shot up. A $400 increase for one that I looked at last year. I know, I should have bought it last year.
I brought the Vista Cruiser down from the mountains. It needs new shoes. They have plenty of tread but are getting old. I'm planning on [Thanks Olds friends for the help] 235/60/15 Like the ones I just put on the drop top

James - I think those are the 1st pictures I've seen of your Vista, that's really sharp!
John - I run a humidifier in my bedroom all winter. My finger tips crack open in the terribly cold & dry winter weather. Every year when I was young living up North I'd have cracks on my finger tips. I sleep much better as well. Without the humidifier humidity in the house will get to 35%-40%, with the humidifier (which isn't a large one) it will stay above 55% and often 60%+.
BTW, my home is a refuge to Lady Bugs all winter. Each winter they're crawling about in every room - they're rather cool I think. Not tons of them, but they sure do like it indoors in the winter.
Norm - Don't know this for sure, but maybe that's supposed to be a Tiger's tail. Those were given away back in the day as a promotional gimmick for Esso (now Exxon Mobil) gasoline whose slogan was "Put a Tiger in Your Tank", I'm sure you remember that!
Hi guys, a regular heat wave this morning! 13 degrees vs. -13 degrees yesterday- 26 degree heat wave!! I like your Vista James! I sure did enjoy owning my 70 for a while, but not too sad I sold it. If your vista windows are good you have a great car, everything else is good bones.
Jeff, I don't know yet what year or if AWD on neighbors Traverse yet. I plan to go see him today. I never paid much attention to his car never thought I might be interested in it. I am quite sure I want AWD though as lake effect snows can and do come this far east and cause a big snowfall when least expected. I wonder if neighbor has checked into if he can get another vehicle to replace his? This car may not be available if he can't get a replacement, we'll see...
Mike I plan to check out old Impala this weekend when a buddy comes over and he can do lifting, etc. So far I haven't even opened the hood as I am afraid it might not reclose and latch. This car has 3 strikes against it though. 1) It's rusty- some of the rear supports for the rear facia .etc are gone.. 2) The transmission started to act up as I mentioned earlier. 3) now smooked up in the front. It looks better than a lot of the old beaters people around here drive, So I bet I can sell it as-is for a couple grand as a transportation special.
Just like in Greg's case, a little over 20° warmer this morning than yesterday, it's 23° right now at 0700. Light flurries right now, but I don't think we're supposed to get any accumulation. I know it's supposed to get into the 40's this afternoon, so if anything does stick this morning, it'll be gone by afternoon.
We're going out this morning around 1100 to pick up an antique pedestal table with claw feet and 4 chairs for my wife. Glad it will be warmer by then. Truck needs some exercise anyway, it hasn't been driven in awhile. I'd better go out 15 or 20 minutes before we're supposed to leave and make sure it's going to start after sitting in the very cold temps the last couple of days. I haven't had a single issue with the battery holding a good charge since I bought that Schumacher solar trickle charger for it, this morning will be a good test.
No other big plans for us today. Hope everyone has a great day!
I "think" the 455 was first made available as an option in 1968 - I "suspect" it was an available option for the VC in 1969? I think an interested buyer would want to know if the 455 had a numbers matching VIN derivative (matching engine + transmission). The VC is not a rare car as compared to other cars. It's rare, yeah, but it isn't considered a "rarity". Many available in many conditions with prices all over the dance floor. I noted the exhaust (while it has dual exhaust) is not in the original factory location as it would have been on the underside of the carriage at the rear of the car.
I don't know - a complete SWAG on the order of $20K-$30K?
Here's one which listed @ $19K. I have no idea what it sold for, but one thing to note is there are 117 pictures of this car so you can review & compare.
Next on the agenda, the weather calls for a Homemade Graham Cracker Crust & Homemade Blueberry Sauce. I may have time for the Homemade Vanilla Cheesecake (weather permitting). I'm making the cheesecake the boiling water baking method. And, this unfortunately requires a refrigerated cooling time of 10 hours after baking.
Nice here today, but chilly. Gonna be real chilly this weekend. I'll be in Florida.
Jamesbo I don't know why you want to sell the Vista Cruiser. Everybody needs one. Does yours have the third seat? You could probably sell gold cheeper than what those windows would go for. The clip has been changed?
Norm that all looks delectable. After you make the cheesecake you can invite the Golden Girls over.
I know this guy who has been looking for a Sherman tank. I never really thought he'd find one, well, because they aren't plentiful, and even a bad one costs about a million. But lo and behold he texted me today and said he's going to look at one in Rome, GA. He said he has to go talk to them about it. That sounds to me like it isn't for sale. Should be interesting. And folks thought owning a DUKW was odd.
Greg if the Impala has a lot of rust it's probably a goner. But if you can get a few bucks out of it so much the better. I wouldn't guess the hood latch will be trouble, looks like most of the impact was to the side.
I really want to get ready for Florida tonight, but whenever I put stuff together for a trip Tiger has a fit. Maybe I can sneak some things here and there. I may volunteer to go home early tomorrow. I don't want to be on the road all night.
Okay speaking of Florida I need to call my Mom real quick. One more to go. Peace.
