Dan - I like the mods to the military truck. Cousin in Oshkosh has one parked outside his work place - MK23 MTVR. There's a guy near me who has one but it's dark sandstone - I saw him driving it today. His is wide open in back. I'd like to own one.
Up again before the dawn. Hit it hard on the stain/sealer. Removed more porch trim. Of 37 planks, 23 have two coats on one side 14 have one coat on one side, none have one coat on the down (back) side. I'm out of stain/sealer - another gallon arrives late tomorrow afternoon (Amazon USPS). I should be able to finish removing ther remainder of porch trim tomorrow.
Took the POS Dakota to the salvage yard this morning- Got $408. Not bad! Basically got $208. for taking it to yard. Still prolly won't do that again. Well The 56 Ford... Started it up on high idle and ran great.. Was still thinkin fuel issue, but let it run and after about 2-3 minutes it just quit. Started back up and ran 15 seconds or so and quit. Did that a few times. So I hooked up my timing light. As truck ran, light flashed. Then it quit and as soon as it faltered light also quit. Ignition problem!! I think it is coil or maybe pick up coil.. Good thing I didn't try to drive it back, It woulda quit again for sure. It has the 70's style Dura Spark which are known for the ignition modules failing, but I have a extra module and that made no difference.
My 445 also works great , had it for many years and used the chainsaw a lot
for firewood and selling timber. Only adjusting idlespeed that,s it Using
high octane fuel and Castrol synthetic 2 stroke oil for high rpm.
Slow start to the morning. I woke up and felt fine. Got ready for work, dropped off Tiger, felt great. Then got to work and felt like a ran into a brick wall. I've got a slow wall guy this week and this morning I'm not getting all of my paperwork. So it's split between two printers. This will get tiring.
Greg it's too bad you scrapped the Dakota if it ran. But on the bright side you are 208 richer. Good show! I know a guy that cut down the frame on a Dakota and put it under a 50s Dodge truck. So it looks like a 50s truck but has a V8 and automatic and all the doodads on the inside, too.
Norm I'm sure your Husq is an excellent machine if you've had it for 21 years. I've had mine 2 years and it's a piece of junk. In fact I can't even find the parts I need to fix it on their website. Well that's it for them. I can't be without a saw so I think I'll go buy another Craftsman. The one I had before ran great for a year, I guess if I have to spend 200 a year on chain saws I'll just save all my nickels. I was going to go find another Poulan but I read they are owned by Husq. So that's a big negative. Maybe I'll check out the pawn shop.
Chris how you feeling today?
I'm worried about my buddy in Alabama. He's as blind as a bat, as they say, he's had something wrong with his eyes since birth, a big long name I can't remember, and he's 65 and is having real trouble. He went to his specialist yesterday and they sent him to a special specialist today. His biggest fear is going blind, and he's well on the way anyway. I hope this isn't the beginning of the end.
Need to start taking the baseboard off in the living room at Mom's. Then I can paint it all real nice when the guy comes to install the laminate floor. I need to be real careful so I don't break any of it. I learned in the past that I'm not good at mitering corners and such so I need to put all the same pieces back on.
Norm - I'm doing OK, not great, but OK. Doctor's office never called me back yesterday, I need to call them back here in a minute. Other irons in the fire with both home and auto policies coming due within the next month that I'm trying to figure out that are keeping me hopping. Will report more later.

Chris - Thanks for checking in. Happy you're still w/ us.
Chris - My Lymphocytes count. Note the reference range of each. Thought I'd puke this up for you so you have a reference.
Norm - Not sure whether I'll ever see mine at that level of granularity or not, but I saved your chart for comparison just in case. Thank you..
My Doc's office was supposed to call me back with further instructions yesterday after my Doc heard the info I had relayed to his assistant. Someone dropped the ball! When I hadn't heard back from them by noon I called the office. He had given instruction for me to come in for another blood draw this morning, but obviously I never got the memo. They asked if I would come in this afternoon, but I knew some possibly severe weather and heavy rain were coming so I said I would go in in the morning, 0800.
Had just plain chicken soup (Progresso) for dinner. I only ate the broth, noodles, and chicken, and picked around the celery, carrots, and onions. So far, so good.
Yes, I'm obviously still kickin! Sure don't want to go thru another evening like last night though, it was horrible. As I mentioned already to Norm, so far, so good today. 🤞
Greg - Nice wheelin/dealin on the Dakota. Maybe we should nickname you the Flim Flam Man!
Norm - Keep on chugging along on the deck, I know you're on it!
Mike found my number and texted me to check on me. I sincerely appreciated it buddy! Jim I appreciated your comment too!
Got a renewal notice from my Home Owners Insurance today. Surprise, surprise, they want to raise my current rate by 30%. I've already got a lead on what looks like a great deal through Allstate for a bundled Auto/Home policy where the Autos would be the same cost/coverage as I currently have with Progressive, and the Home Owners will be $1,600 less than the renewal rate of my current company (Hartford). I don't doubt this "deal" is a bait & switch in the sense they'll jack their rates up after the 1st year, but I'll play the game for now if it saves me $1,600 next year.

Chris - Expect (demand) to see your WBC count. NOTE: It is "your" test, you are the patient, the M.D. is not the patient & the M.D. is not paying for "your" test(s) - which should have been a CBC [Complete Blood Count] (ask your daughter the nurse). M.D.s walk out of medical school expecting to assist/help patients - soon, they've lost their mind(s) & quickly realize being a practitioner takes second stage to their "business model". Shame on them for not calling you back - shame, shame, shame. I'd be in their front shirt pocket all over them like stink on $hit, you should be, also. If the M.D. is unwilling or can't describe for you your WBC count down to the type of lymphocyte (Neutrophils, Monocytes, Eosinophils, Basophils & Lymphocytes) and concentration of each - he is a TURD.
Newel post(s) trim removed from eight newel posts (on the deck) along w/ removal of the four anti-sway (leveling) blocks (on the deck). I'd lose my mind if I had to cut/miter this trim work again. Each piece of wood trim is two miter cuts x 4 pieces of trim per newel post = 8 miter cuts/post x 8 newel posts = 64 miter cuts. Soon, I'll be knee deep inside the deck removing planks, shoring up newel posts, shoring up cross-members (webbing/stringers), etc. Fresh gallon of stain/sealer arrived today. Still need to finish staining/sealing the planks.
Chris - You got it. Like an old steamer (locomotive) chugging along.
Bought a ignition coil for truck at local NAPA. Truck running great! WOW I sure was wrong on that one! But I still may have a fuel problem that may rear it's ugly head-- But I'm happy now!

Greg - That took a slightly different route - hope it holds out to have been the real issue.
Box of removed trim work. I've already removed nails, glue backing & caulking from ea. piece.
Norm - Man that's alot of intricate and delicate removal work to get all of those trim pieces off without breaking them. I commend you for your patience and perseverance in that effort! 👍
Norm - I've been keeping an eye on those on the national news. I hope they veer north/northeast like the others have been. I'd hate for you to have to set the deck work aside for a couple days to have to batten down the hatches and ride it out if one or both come ashore near you. 🤞

Greg - That's great, I hope the coil replacement solves the problem for good! 👍
I had a pretty good evening last night. I didn't suffer a belly ache and was able to hold down my food after a very light dinner. Off to get a 2nd blood draw here in about 20-minutes. No big plans for today. I will still be in the process of analyzing options to the impending rate hikes for my Auto and Home Insurance policies.
Chris - Thanks. I guess the “popular” term for my condition is OCD, yet I simply consider it doing the job the correct way. OCD is overrated. Yes, it would be nice to see those Disturbances moving elsewhere. You got a band of storms yesterday afternoon? Four planks stained/sealed I best get chugging along. Hope you’re feeling a little better.
Chris I'm glad you are back on the road to recovery. Hope it keeps up. Can't beat chicken soup.
Slow going this morning. The new robot guy left to do some training and the slow wall guy went home, and now I have good people and I still don't have any wheels. I don't think anything is broke. Eh, I'm just sitting here looking for the end of the internet. Again.
Norm if the two storms assimilate do they become a mega storm or just one regular storm? Have we had a storm come ashore yet this year? I don't remember. Probably in Florida somewheres.
I think I mentioned in the past I've been looking at Dodge diesels. Not too many configured the way I want. Found a couple, not close to me. I'm hesitant to pull the trigger, they are a lot of money and that would pretty much spell death to my Silverado. Which I'm not ready to do yet.
Well it's Hump Day. Supposed to get rain tonight and tomorrow. Guess I could find inside stuff to do. Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike -Thanks for the well wishes, they are much appreciated.
Good luck with your decision on whether to buy a new to you diesel truck. It's always a tough decision for me on whether there is truly a need to buy a new vehicle, especially with the cost of decent vehicles these days.

Norm, When I was at Emory we called them "Doctor Gods" [they think they know everything. ] Recently I've come to being a patient advocate. It's my body and my life and I'm making the decisions NOT some kid who blessed me with 15 minutes
Terribly humid (95%) this morning. Humidity should burn off by 10 am & go down remainder of the day (75%). Fourteen planks completely finished 23 planks need one coat (final) on underside. Very happy w/ paths of recent TS/hurricane activities - move along nothing to see here.

Norm - I know there's a ****-ton of work above and beyond just the staining to get the new porch done, but it sounds like you're making good progress! Nice job! 👍 I'm glad it's looking like the storms will miss you.
