Mike, Menards almost always has 11% off. Maybe get a battery there? I bought a generac for my house a few years ago and found they were all the same price everywhere, but at Menards- 11% rebate! It's a hassle getting the rebate back but worth it if enough....

Glenn - That's an impeccable 1965 Oldsmobile 98. It looked like ~300 motorcycles in the 2024 ride. That steam locomotive (1143) caught my attention - a 10 wheeler (4-6-0 bogie arrangement). The Swede's hate their Badgers.

Yes Norm it was many motorcycles last year , they counted to about 1000 people looking at the choppers
and other stuff. There was many more bikes parked on other places than showed in the video because
it was no space. This year it was not so sunny like -24 but there was much more bikes than shows in this
video from 2025 , but here it´s easier to se the bikes before they opens. Very nice place to se old friends.

The red 98 was in very good shape , much better than ours . It was nice talking to him. Yes we don´t like
badgers when they visiting the lawn. Was visiting our familys cemetery last weekend and large parts look
like this :

So this is the best looking badger ever :

Regards Glenn

Hi everyone.

Oh how nice it was to sleep in and get up at my leisure. Lollygagged around a couple hours, I wasn't in a hurry. This afternoon I need to go to Mom's and try to install some "free" cable stations on her TV. Not looking forward to that.

So Autozone can suck a large hind teat. Went to my regular battery store, which is a little ways away, and got one for 140. Exactly half. I even told him it was for a Cadillac. I worked at an auto parts store when I was a kid and sold batteries all day long for 39.95 . Glenn we don't have Menards down here. I loved going to Menards when I lived up home. They beat the pants off Lowes and Home Creepo.

Beautiful here and not hot. Six days until Fall. Should be a nice evening for Summit, I hope there's a better turnout than last week.

Okay off to Mom's. Lunch then torture. She doesn't know how to install this stuff, yet I'm supposed to. I told her right off I can't do this kind of thing and she got mad. Then she calls the cable people and insults them when she doesn't understand what they are telling her. Joy of joys.

Have a good afternoon everyone.

Mom and I just finished having pizza and my friends(the odd people) called and said they were at the Awful house, and one of our favorite employees was also there and would I like to come over and see her. So I went to Awful house for a little while. It was a nice time. The girl we like moved to midnight shift and starts at 9pm, so I never see her anymore. She has unreliable transportation, so she ended up there early because that's when she could get a ride, and my friends were there having coffee. So that was nice.
Mike - No evidence of a mouse chewing on the bottle of cleaning liquid. The bottle was not old either, certainly <2-yrs. Probably one of the manufacturing defects Norm suggested where there was an existing design flaw in the bottle and the bottle got bumped or handled in a way to split a thin spot in the wall.

The pizza sounds good for you, not so much for me. We had pizza last night too from a trusted location. About 2-hrs later I got violently ill and threw up a couple times. Dawn didn't get sick. I felt fine after throwing up. I don't know what in the hell that was all about, usually I have a cast iron stomach.

Glad you got to visit with friends at Awful House!

I'm just glad you felt fine later. Last time I had food poisoning, it went into full on gastroenteritis and I was barfing for 24 hours, then out the other end for 3 days. I have not been that sick in 20 years.

Thanks guys! It certainly wasn't any fun. Like I said, very unusual for me. I really like to have beer with pizza, but I only had one, and the pizza was from the same Imo's location where I've got pizza 50 times and never had a problem. I think I may have just eaten too much, or put too much red chili pepper flakes on it. I ate a much more bland dinner tonight, just some Ham and Swiss sandwiches with tomato and lettuce. Guess we'll see how it goes?

Possible you weren't infected from food. Door handles harbor significant populations (colonies) of infectious bacteria (if it was a bacteria) & are a leading source of bacterial infection.

Norm - Yes, that's certainly a possibility.
However, after being fine all day, I had the sandwiches, and about a half-hour later a belly ache started, and that migrated into nausea and eventually throwing up several times. Something's going on? I have my Annual Physical this Friday, but I'd really like to see whatever this is run it's course before then. Hoping I don't have an ulcer, or something more serious.

Chris - I'm confused. Was it pizza or sandwiches?

Pizza last night, two Ham and Swiss sandwiches tonight. Belly ache followed by severe nausea and vomiting after both meals.

The only time I've ever called a hotel doctor was when I got food poising from Takie outie in the Big easy. missed King tut. Next year the coaches told all the Sugar Bowl players to avoid Takie Outie like the plague. I wish I had had a street food coach

In the many years I spent as a used piece of jet trash residing in hotels each week, I was self confined to my room only once & it was miserable. I can't imagine summoning an M.D. to my hotel room.

Well, ya can't make informed decisions from a desk armchair but Norovirus comes to mind. With that said, there's zero cure since it's a virus. The best you can hope for to make an informed decision is to run a rtPCR (reverse transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction). Costly but 100% definitive. Even if detected as Norovirus, there's no treatment (as I said). Treatment is only palliative for the symptoms. Best to drink gallons upon gallons of water to fight dehydration.

Thanks for the info Norm. I ate a bowl of icecream about a 1/2-hour ago. No belly ache or nausea so far, hoping it stays down since I lost all my dinner, and that was all I had eaten all day. Like I said, I'm hoping I can shake it before going to my annual physical on Friday, I'd hate to spoil my perfect record. My Doc has never seen me sick.

Chris - I think Norovirus symptoms last an average of three days. Testing the waters w/ a bowl of ice cream (dairy product) would have been one of the lesser options on my list, but if you can/did hold it down I'd say it's cleared your system. Hope you're feeling better today after a good night's rest.

The new warrantied (damaged) motorcycle lift pump arrives today. I haven't selected a table saw - I'm still debating which one &/or if I really need one, most will be end cuts. I need to measure up square footage then determine linear feet based upon stock lumber sizes at my local lumber yard. I'll head to store to pick up a couple 1.5 oz. M-1 mildew, mold, algae containers to add to the Cabot Timber Oil. Weather is nearly perfect for applying stain/sealer to the cedar boards. My right elbow is acting up with one of the miserable/painful "catches" likely from overuse.

That time of year when they begin stacking up off the coast of Northern Africa - fingers crossed.

Good morning everyone.

Cloudy this morning so I hope that doesn't mean rain. The forecast has said possible rain all week but it hasn't been around me. We could probably use some rain but I hate saying that because it always goes overboard.

Chris that's too bad you are under the weather. Perhaps someone sneezed on your Pasta Primavera. I think your motivation is a little askew. If you are sick the doctor should see you.

Norm Mom pays a lot for her cable TV. She said she doesn't mind because that's most of her entertainment. Recently she was informed that Paramount +, Peacock, Hulu, HBOMax, and ESPN are also part of her cable oh and Disney+. But that required signing up with each station and downloading the apps on the television. What a pain in the patoot. At this point in time it should be able to be done by the cable company. I mean, I didn't have to sign up for every freaking other station we have. And yes I did mean Greg. Heck they are both G's. Sup G.

Okay guess I'll do something. Slow but steady wheels this morning. Have a great day everyone. Chris I hope your are better today.

Guys - Thanks for the well wishes.

Norm - I held the small bowl of icecream down the rest of the evening and thru the night. Didn't sleep all that well because I was afraid to take my ibuprofen on an empty stomach an hour before bedtime for my arthritic aches/pains. I'm feeling OK this morning.

Good luck with the gate refresh. I hope your elbow holds up. Also good luck with the lift pump!

Mike - Appreciate the well wishes! My point about my Doc never seeing me sick is that I'm never sick. Since my old Doc retired about 5 or 6-years ago, the only time this new Doc has seen me is for my Annual Physical each year.

Today is all about
Today is all about "Nixon's Lord Bernard Law Montgomery", our beloved Monty is 9-yrs old today! He's already outlived the life expectancy of the average English Bulldog by a year now and going strong. What a loving and loyal friend he is to both of us! I've never had a better dog!

Robert Redford! He was in the first movie I ever saw in the theater. The Great Waldo Pepper. 1975. I was 8, my dad took me to see it. I really don't remember much about it, and years ago a friend of mine loaned me his VHS copy. It was a good movie. I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Happy birthday to Monty! And many more... If he is a year older than the average bulldog, that makes him above average! Shows what the experts know. The experts say a German Shepherd should live to be 9. I had one live to 16, two live to 11, and Tiger is 9 now. I notice him slowing down but he's certainly not down for the count. I hope Monty has a great day and gets lots of treats!

Mike - Thanks for the B-day congrats for Monty! Cool that both he and Tiger are 9. Monty's already gotten one new toy today, and will get 2 more before the day is done. Of course that also means Maggie gets 3 today too, or we would have a Battle Royal around here all day.

"The Sting" was the movie we went to see on my 1st real date in January 1974. I did not have a license yet and my Dad had to take us and drop us off and pick us up.

Good one. Happy birthday Monty. Chris, good to see that ya ain't ailing anymore. Off to a local cruise-in at about 5:30. Will be getting the new top in October, have to wait for an opening, and his main (only) guy is having surgery.

Dan - Hope there's a good turnout at the cruise-in and that you have a fun time!

Thanks for the b-day congrats to Monty, he's definitely being pampered today. Thanks for the well wishes on what's been ailing my stomach, but I'm not sure I'm out of the woods yet. I haven't eaten any solid food yet today, nothing since the small bowl of icecream I had yesterday evening, that I did keep down. Here in a little while I'm going to try a small amount of some bland crackers and some banana slices and see how I do. Certainly hoping I have turned the corner though!

The property my hangar is on has a hill that goes down to the bottom of the property and it's not real easy to walk down. It is full of trees, which is the only way I can get down, grabbing one and then sort of falling to the next and grabbing on, etc. Getting back up is a different story. Anyway, there are rocks, downed trees, tree stumps, gully's, roots, holes, I don't think a regular Gator 6 wheel pickup would be capable. Anyone have any ideas what would get down the slope, and more importantly get back up? Would a tracked vehicle, like a Bobcat, be any better?

Okay break is over. Back to work. Beautiful here and not hot. Have a great day everyone.
Mike Mike Mike guess what day it is....

The cedar gate is taking the Cabot Timber Oil stain/seal like a drunk bathing in Bourbon - really doing a nice job. I ventured a trip to the lumber yard. They now are stocking both #1 kiln dried & #1 pressure treated. True deck planks 5/4"H x 5.5"W in 10', 12', 14', & 16' lengths. I need 8'7" boards. I "could" stagger some cut boards from longer length stock, but I don't really like the idea. I'd prefer single boards so I'll get 10' length boards. Pressure treated boards are 2/3 the cost of kiln dried, again both are #1 grade. I'm sorta torn between the two but leaning more towards kiln dried - I think it's a more superior board & none of the boards will touch soil. Oh well, that part is done. It will be longer than two day job, but these boards (either of them) will be quite an improvement over the current deck boards. Last time I replaced a couple sections I noted a couple stringers were iffy but enough good wood remaining I should be able to sister some good stringers together & upgrade the support foundation. I've nearly talked myself out of buying a table saw. I may have to rip one board at length, no biggie. And, these are rounded edge planks which are so nice. I have a HD Bosch router + table so I can make short work of rounding.

Norm - That's all Dawn, nothing's too good for her babies, but I'm glad they get the best.

I've lost the bubble on the deck planks? Are those to repair or replace your front porch decking? They sound like very nice materials!
