Mike - You got it. Locked vs. Unlocked same as secure vs. insecure. The distance a hotspot broadcasts/receives is generally quite limited 30' - 50' on average. You'd likely see the person using your hotspot. I basically never turn mine on but you're using the phone's hotspot to tether your laptop/tablet while I do not. And, you likely know this, anytime hotspot is enabled battery life is reduced. Hope it's all working well for you.

Played a mediocre/average game of pasture pool (golf) this morning & the weather was screaming gorgeous.

Stopped by Dollar General for a couple items & grabbed a tub of mint chocolate chip. I might make an attempt to install/mount a couple shower grab rails this afternoon. We'll see.

I won $1,000 playing golf. The Men's Golf Association I play w/ on Monday mornings has a skins game. It's actually a PowerBall skins game & the winning pot amount has been growing stupid as the result of it being a PowerBall skins game. This morning we agreed, as a team (4 members/team), if any of us won the PowerBall skins game we'd divide the winnings equally. Albeit, I won $245 along w/ each of my team players.

Dawn made BLT's for dinner. She used our Deep.Fryer to fry the Bacon. Only took 4 or 5-minutes to fry a large pile of Bacon. She did have to fry it in two sessions though, it was 2lbs of Bacon. Every bit as good as Crown Candy Kitchen!

We need an official reference picture that is approved to post on for sale ads here when the price is double as high as it should be. Maybe Mr. Dogg.

One pound for each of you?

I don't own a deep fryer. I've never found any utility in owning a deep fryer. Although, I would like to try deep frying a turkey, maybe. They do look delicious & I certainly love crispy turkey skin.

I had a total of 3 sandwiches the size of the two in the picture, probably 1 & 1/2-pounds total. Dawn had about 1/2 lb. There was probably about 1/4 lb leftover.

We use our Deep Fryer for a variety of stuff, but it's usually for some kind of fried vegetables, like French Fries, thicker Potato Wedges, fried Zucchini, fried Okra, etc. Of course, fried Chicken. This was the first time for Bacon.

While I understand the moderators' conflict-averse position on this and all things, the problem is it is making "price creep" happen.

I have two data points. I bought a 67 442 with a hood in 2005 for 4k. The hood, other than a rust bubble, is in good shape. I bought a damn near perfect spare in 2017 from the late Ed Skaff a year before he passed for $900. Some dude in the parts for sale wants $3k for a beater hood. I am tempted to ask him if a car comes with it. That's 70-72 OAI money there, and a good one at that.

Speaking of OAI, I think the 67 442 louvered hood is the equivalent bolt on bling of the, now, unfortunately, 69 too, 70-72 OAI craze for 67s. I just hope no one repops the chrome OAI air cleaners otherwise they'll be everywhere, too.

Good morning everyone.

Nice morning, if not a little cool. Gonna warm up later. Need my convertible back.

Chris that's -a lot- of bacon.

Norm who got the last 20?

John a person can ask anything he wants for a part. Whether or not he gets it is another story. Although I see what you are saying. It's sort of like the TV auction deal. One person wants this much, then fifty others raise their price because they saw it on TV. Insane.

Tiger is now out of apoquel. No idea how to spell that. I'm not getting him any more. It doesn't do him any good and it's expensive, to the tune of 80 bucks for less than three weeks. This morning I gave him Benadryl. The vet told me to give that to him long ago. It's probably going to poison him but what can I do. I'm going to stop by the vet this afternoon and see what other non-working overly expensive remedy she has.

Work is humming along, no drama, lots of wheels. Hope it continues. Have a great day everyone.

Ah, I understand...

So I've got my heating pad at work. I alternate between the back and hamstring. It feels good at first, but I think the thing has short circuited. I have it on the lowest setting and it still burns. I'd try a higher setting to see if it actually gets hotter or not as hot, but I'm afraid I'd spontaneously combust. So I run it a few minutes and turn it off. Trust me I don't forget.

I was wondering whether the '67 4-4-2 hood for sale on CO prompted your initial post, now I know. I'd like to have a "spare" hood, just in case, but $3K is crazy money for one in that condition in my opinion.. I don't mind people wanting to get top dollar for rare or somewhat rare parts, but if they're going to ask stupid money, I'd just as soon they advertise somewhere else and not insult the Members on here. Just my 2-cents.

Mike - We've tried just about everything for Monty's itching allergies, including the very expensive Cytopoint injections. The Cytopoint seemed to work for about a week or two, then right back to the itching and scratching. Apoquel didn’t do squat! Dawn just uses Benadryl as needed for him and it seems to help to some degree. Our Vet has always assured as the Benadryl won't harm him as long as he's not overdosed. Unfortunately I don't think there's a good product to alleviate bad allergies in many breeds.

Good morning guys,

I didn't think there was suppossed to be any real threat of rain all week, but we've been getting some light showers the past couple of hours. Looks like the sky is starting to lighten now though. Low 80's the next couple of days, and then a period of 5 or 6-days with unusually cool weather in the mid-70's which will be really nice for Dawn's, my daughter Blaire and Gabe's 20-mile Mammoth March Hike on Sunday. The hike is held along some pretty rugged hiking trails along the bluffs of the Missouri River near Defiance, MO.
.
I need to get out to the garage and break down the Yamaha and get the bad battery out of it. The new one's suppossed to be here on the 5th. Going to one of Gabe's practices this evening, and one of Keegan's on Thursday. Car Show plans for this week are TBD. I'm limited to choices on Saturday because I'll be on dog duty Sunday while the crew is hiking all day on Sunday. There really are no good choices for Shows I'm seeing on Saturday right now, I need to ask around some?

Hope everyone has a great day and week! 😃

Of course, on the other hand, some guy had a set of 67 w-30 valve covers for sale on a couple facebook groups last night. I told him I'd buy them, and now the ads are gone. He had them for a good deal, so he probably got greedy and wanted more after he posted it. I bet they'll be back for 3x the price.

The 67 442 hood is a rare 60 year old part. You just don't see any of them. I'm willing to except other offers to help somebody's project move ahead.

Weather is gorgeous - 60s nighttime, 70s daytime. All windows are wide open.
Delighted w/ the Kohler grab rails. Installed three of four last night. Well built, appear durable w/ sturdy mounting hardware. Mounting templates are spot-on for accuracy in mounting. Obviously, it's a tad meticulous drilling through ceramic tile & 1/2" concrete backer board. My concrete/marble/tile carbide drill bits make it easy. I have a modest consortia of drills. Not required often, but I have a impact driver/drill which significantly reduces the chance of making mistakes. I purchased three more grab rails this morning (Lowe's) to mount around the Whirlpool® Jet hot tub. At ~$65 each (7 x $65 = $455) they're a tad expensive - you get what you pay for. I get a 10% military discount @ Lowe's which helps.
My driver's license expires at the end of this month (on my birthday). I can't renew online because I renewed the last time online. Only allowed to renew online every other renewal. Driver's licenses are valid 5 yrs. in North Carolina.

EDIT: I scheduled a flu vaccine tomorrow morning 9:45am.

Good morning everyone.

Beautiful here as well, and gonna be a good temperature. Finally getting some relief and I can't do anything.

You know what, I've decided I'm done being a gimp. I got too much to do and can't be sitting around feeling sorry for myself. So I will just do whatever I can and get back to getting things done.

Norm I went to get a flu shot years ago(1998) and I told the guy, I got a tetanus shot last week can you get it in the same hole? He seemed offended, which I thought was odd.

Not much else. Work is going well, though we got a long dissertation basically on decorum. That guy can go pound sand. I'm gonna do what I want.

Have a great day everyone.

Norm - Very considerate of you to provide additional safety for the lady before you mount, whether it's in the shower or the hot tub!

Seriously though, glad you like the product and that the install is going well! 👍

Good morning guys,

It's gonna be another nice day here too, just beautiful!

The new motorcycle battery came yesterday, 3-days early, and I'm not prepared to put it in. Going out to the garage soon to prep the battery first. It's an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) design, and comes with the acid outside of the battery. First I have to put the acid in the battery, then permanently seal the battery. Then put the battery on a charger for the initial charge. After I get that going on a charger, I'll start in on getting the old one out, taking pics as I go to remember how it all goes back together. I've done it before, but it's been over 4-years ago.

Hope everyone has a great day! 😃

Mike - The guy you asked to get in the same hole sounds like a dunce.

Chris - Carefully follow directions regarding initial (activation) charge for the AGM. You buy a Yuasa?

Flu shot received.

Three more grab rails to mount near Whirlpool. Shower is complete.

Yes, I bought a Yuasa. I generally remembered the steps, but the instructions it came with weren't worth a ***** so I found a Yuasa created video online to refresh my memory.
- Add acid, then let sit for an hour for absorption
- Seal
- Put on charger of no more than 2 Amps, for 5 to 10-hour depending on battery size and # of Amps. I've got it charging now.

Here's the journey of battery removal:

When I'm working in the garage I've got to have tunes!

Seat removed and 1st layer exposed. Power Commander 5 fuel controller/tuner attached to the ECU with Velcro, held down by rubber strap.

Exposed wiring/connectors. All of those wires/connectors go towards the top of the pic except one, the large white connection at the bottom of the mess, which goes across from one side to the other. You cannot peel back the mess without disconnecting that one connection. Took me 20 minutes at least to figure out how to get that connector disconnected even though I had did it before!

Should have taken a pic of the Battery still sitting in there but forgot. Obviously the battery has been removed. All the wiring that has been peeled back has been Zip Tied to the best degree possible to keep it out of the way to the greatest degree possible. Even with that done, I still had to push the wiring back more in the upper left while pulling the battery out. The battery has a battery strap around it allowing me to pull it with one hand while holding stuff back with the other.

Good morning everyone.

Work is steady this morning and no snafu's. And we didn't get any lecture.

Chris I hope you got the battery all squared away. I honestly don't remember where the battery was on my bike. Probably under the seat. It was a Harley.

Still messing around with the phone. I think I may have found the password to my gmail so I can start getting that again. I have maybe a quarter of my contacts put in. So if any of you call and I don't have your number put in yet, I'll probably screen you and I apologize in advance.

Nothing planned for after work. I keep hearing about rain but so far it's nice out. I know it can change fast. I guess we'll just have to see.

Okay gonna go for a walk for break. Hope everyone has a good day.

Following this (Disturbance 1) for about one week which began as unlikely to develop into a TS to now becoming an increased probability to develop into a TS.

Mike - Thanks for asking about the motorcycle battery situation. The new battery was charged by early evening, but I didn't put it in yet. I'm not going to put it in today either. In case my SIL decides to buy it, I asked him if he'd like to get some experience on how to get to it and install a new one. He said he would, and he is coming over after he's home from work tomorrow to watch me reinstall it.

Hang in there with the new phone, you'll get used to it. Hope you have a great rest of your day.

Good morning guys,

It rained late last night pretty hard between midnight and 2pm, with some lightening thrown in. Now we're entering a very nice period of dry, and cooler than usual weather for 5 straight days. The high today is only supposed to be 75°, and a high of only 76° for my Car Show on Saturday and the girl's hiking on Sunday. Gabe is not hiking with them now because of a conflict with his hockey.

No big plans for today. I've got to get my yard mowed today or tomorrow, but I haven't decided which day yet. Dawn is down the street cleaning for the neighbors so I'm on dog duty.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day! 😃

So I'm confused. Not the first time. Remember that convertible we were talking about a couple weeks ago, the one ratty one in Ohio that Norm found pictures of? I went to the place's website and emailed them. Custom Rods and Muscle. I get back an auto-response, Custom Rods and Muscle is closed as of November 2024. Please follow us on facebook and cramauto. So I go look at CRAMauto.com and it's the same website. It gives the same (old) email. I know they are still there because I just drove past them a month ago. Eh, who knows. I wanted them to tell me what happened to that convertible. I guess I'll have to stop in next year when I'm up there.

Boy I don't know what's up with my leg. I don't have a limp per se, but I can't seem to walk like I did. And my foot is doing some weird slapping on the floor when I take a step. I suspect the muscle is weak from being injured and it will eventually start acting normally. I hope so, I'd hate to think I had to walk like this forever. I still get quite a bit of pain if I'm on my feet too long. Not fun.

Not where I want to be with the number of wheels, but I have a guest robot guy and he isn't very fast. Two guys have gone home and I'm getting their wheels, so that will help.

a high of only 76° for my Car Show on Saturday
I have a show on Saturday as well, with the temps in the mid 60's, in Spring Lake, about a dozen miles south of me. Might have to put the top up.

Ya, it sounds like it might be in the 40's when you take off in the morning depending on what time you leave out. That might be a little chilly with the top down? I'm going about 35-miles one way. Now the weatherman is calling for the possibility of some rain overnight Friday, hopefully I won't wake up to wet roads Saturday morning?

Mike - I'm no orthopedic specialist, but it sounds like you might be experiencing some nerve issues in your bad leg. You really should go have it checked out, because there is the possibility of permanent nerve damage if that is what's causing your symptoms. Just my 2-cents!

I see you reduced the price for the hood. Hopefully, you'll get some traction. GLWS

Good morning everyone.

Predictable slow start to the morning. Lots of people are off on Fridays, and few came in for overtime. Here's me not caring.

I feel like I'm running a little slow myself. I didn't have any pop in the house this morning and I didn't stop to get any on the way in. I'll hit up a vending machine here in a little while. I hate when my routine is interrupted. Hm, 5 "I's" I must be full of my self. Six. Bad writing form.

Chris the nerve thing has been suggested before. I don't have the same pain all the time so not sure that would be it. If I don't get any relief in the next week or so I'll have to go back in. This is awful.

Guess it's time to go get something to drink. Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike - I know, it is awful, I've been there. I hope you start seeing some improvement and relief from the pain soon. You'll be in our prayers.
