I have had had major back issues since 1984, caused by Degenerative Joint Disease, a fancy term for a form of arthritis. What would normally be the fluid filled "Discs" between the Vertebrae in my back have literally had the fluid forced out of them by many years of heavy weight lifting (Squats with 380lbs) and collisions. As a result of the collapsed Disc's, the Vertabrae in my back are significantly closer together than they should be, making it much easier to pinch nerves that are located between the Vertabrae if I bend over or twist awkwardly. If I do pinch a nerve in this fashion, the body's reaction is for the muscles in my back to go into a severe Muscle Spasm. These Muscle Spasm's are not a tear or strain, they are an extreme tightening of the muscles surrounding the area of the pinched nerve/s for the purpose of protecting the pinched nerve/s from further trauma/damage. I am not an Orthopedic Surgeon, but I believe this is what you may be experiencing. No amount of PT is going to help, it may actually hurt, until you are able to get the Back Muscles to relax and stop Spasming. One time I was on my back, on Oxycodone and Flexerill (Muscle relaxer), for a whole week until the Muscles relaxed. I'm not.saying this is what is causing your current pain, my point is that you should go to a competent Orthopedic Surgeon to diagnose the issue instead of a simple visit seeing an NP. A thorough investigation may involve more x-rays and probably an MRI. This is probably the only way you're really going to know what's really going on and make a plan to relieve the pain, and prevent future episodes. This is just because I care!
This is the club that I belong to. I would rather not be a member. Norm, I find that I prefer baking my bacon instead of frying it. I tried it awhile back, liked it, so I bake it when I'm not in a hurry for breakfast. Ordered radiator top plate insulators, and the seals that go from the top plate and down the sides a bit. Getting them from Fusick. I was going to install my freshly painted top plate last night, and was trying to pull the insulators from the old one, but I knew if I kept at it, I would tear the nipples off, plus I noticed that one of the side seals had a tear in it, so I figured that I might as well get new ones.

Thanks Norm, although there has been a late change to the menu. The biscuits have been nixed. The pancakes have been changed to waffles, kinda same, same as pancakes. It will all be delicious though! 😃

How about deep frying? That's how Crown Candy Kitchen does theirs. I never have, but that may be the fastest way to cook large volumes of bacon and have it nice and crispy?

No, it is certainly not a club you want to be a member of. I started an extensive core strengthening regimen at the advice of my back doctor 30-years ago when all this started and I believe it has paid huge dividends. I am still very careful of how I bend, twist, and lift, and sometimes get a minor twinge before catching myself, but thankfully I haven't had a major episode in several years, knock on wood! I am a firm believer when they say the stronger you make the front, it also strengthens and reinforces the back!

Good luck on finishing the replacement of the top plate and side seals. Are you still going to be able to get to the Shows this weekend?

The towing carriage can be adapted to various motorcycle mfrs. I believe I’ve seen them on Moto Guzzi & BMW.

This was on the loca news this last week, in Livonia, Mi. I feel sorry for the car owner though. I also don't understand why the police didn't block him in. https://www.cbsnews.com/detroit/news...ivonia-police/

I love seeing snakes. I would often catch and keep one for just a couple days as a kid. I didn't like seeing Copperheads show up on my Pool deck or asphalt driveway at my old house. At the back of the backyard was a steep, rocky, wooded hillside, prime territory for Copperheads. Although I hated it, I killed every Copperhead I found for fear of them getting one of the kids.

Norm - I stopped at Dollar General on the way home from getting takeout to buy some more icecream. Decided to try a twist on the Mint Chocolate Chip and got Mint Oreo Cookie. It was good, but not as good as the Mint Chocolate Chip. The Mint Chocolate Chip has more Chocolate flavor to it.

Now I want ice cream.

So my sister shows up on my doorstep yesterday. Some crazy Indian woman below her in the apartment building in Nashville she thinks called the cops on her. So she flies town and ends up at my place without telling me. She left this morning to go back after we got her calmed down.

Mowed grass at my house after about a month. Did the front yard twice. My old rider, since I went at a new angle a couple times, does not like nose down, to the left, with full oil as it starts smoking and losing compression until I get flat. Thing was trying to elect a new pope on us.

I mistakenly bought Mint Oreo Cookie some time in the past. Didn't like it. Mint Chocolate Chip wins hands down.

Cancelled my Amazon Prime subscription after wrestling w/ two incorrectly fulfilled shipments by Amazon & more than several delayed shipments in recent past. Amazon Prime is tanking & going Tango Uniform. I'm not paying a subscription for mediocre service. I'm finding more & more items on eBay w/ free shipping, excellent fulfillment & pretty fast delivery. See ya Amazon Prime! I'll pocket the $150/yr & start purchasing more from local vendors & eBay. I've had it w/ Amazon Prime.

Norm - That's a shame, but if you're getting shitty service I don’t blame ya. Dawn and I have had good luck with them, but what you've been experiencing may just be the tip of the iceberg and we just haven't seen it here yet?

I'm not feeling the love from Amazon Prime any longer. I've reviewed some of their Marketplace algorithms & product/vendor algorithms. I don't like what I see.

I purchased eventual(?)/inevitable(?) walk-in shower accessories, today. Kohler grab rails - x4 of them. Thought I was going to buy Moen, opted for Kohler, instead. I'm capable of standing on one leg/foot putting on pants, etc. There are occasions I find myself lightly leaning against a table or wall for balance when standing to put on pants - yes, I could just as well sit down. I'm not to that point - yet. I figure it's to best make these modifications now as this aging process seems to be inevitable.

Hi everyone.

Got the new phone. Google Pixel 10. Anyone who knows me won't be surprised to find that I don't like it. But Lucky Goldstar doesn't make cell phones any longer and I hate Samsung phones. And the Motorola fold in half phone looked ridiculous to me. I suspect after suffering with this new one a couple weeks it will start to become easier.

Norm the big thing these days is "age in place." Grab bars and benches and the like are an easy way to not go to a home. I think I've all but decided I'm installing a walk in bathtub. Replete with the jacuzzi bubbling. I'll never leave the house! No shame in growing old. Be glad you are allowed to.

My back/leg/hip is progressing. Not necessarily for the better, but progressing. I'll have times when any movement is torture and other times when I feel pretty good. I can't tell if the medicine is doing anything. I've decided for sure to pull the plug on PT. I'll be laid up for 6 months if I keep going. I've been going for a month anyway, I'm guessing that whatever isn't better won't be.

So now that I can run the computer at home again I've got some catching up to do. Nice day out, I should be mowing or some such thing. Nope. Staying in because of a stupid injury. Anyway I'll do some catching up and see you guys later.

Norm - Anyone no matter how old they are can slip and lose their balance in shower or tub. Smart move on your part.

Mike - Sorry to hear your leg/back/hip is not doing much better, that sucks.

Hang in there with the phone, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it if you stick with it! Plenty of online resources to check out if you get stuck with something.

I may put bars in the bathrooms in my new place, or at least hardpoints to put them in. I like a prop while putting pants on.

Grab bars in the bathroom are good for all. A slick floor can sneak up on anyone.

The phone will be okay. And the reason it will be okay is because if I turned it in for another one it would cost me fifty bucks! It's still better than that stupid Samsung Mom has.

The pulled muscle doesn't feel too bad tonight. Of course I haven't done anything all day. I think that's the secret. Gonna be nice all week, I should try to do something. But I don't want to rock the canoe.

Gonna sleep in tomorrow. No partying, just see what I can get into. Have a good night everyone.

Gang. Thanks for the positive comments RE: Grab rails.

Mike - I don't mind repeating myself - stretch often, just don't overexert. Evidently, you found the location on your new phone to enable the WiFi hotspot. Hoping everything is A-OK.

A couple of pics from yesterday's show. Had about 125-150 cars, but most I have seen and taken pics of, as it was local, and the regulars turned out. It benefitted the local no kill shelter. https://photos.app.goo.gl/doFAEbunbKpxwfza7

Dan - I'm a sucker for the 1960 TR3-A; although, I'd prefer any color than white. I met a guy in the Lowe's parking lot some years ago w/ a military 1942 BMW R75 Side Car. Very unique but a disastrous motorcycle which could only be operated on roads (best if paved). The side car, unlike most sidecars which attach to the motorcycle via simple attachment points, is actually power driven. Supposedly, you took it off-road into minor stubble & all occupant's *** cheeks tightened up fearing its instability & being prone to clogging up the side car power train with stubble, rubble & mud. These things had three seats - odd combination. Of course, the gunner had to sit somewhere.

And, what do you know - a firetruck. Yeah baby.

Good morning everyone.

Slept fairly well. Tiger wanted to go out a couple times. Eh, as long as he actually has to go potty I don't mind.

My neighbor is having several trees taken out of his back yard. I'm jealous. I wonder who's doing it. There's a guy that keeps two planes at the airport who is a tree guy. I need to call him and have him look at a couple of my trees.

Norm it was fairly straight forward finding the hot spot to run the computer. Though I'm not completely sure I've selected secure wifi. I had a choice of locked and unlocked. I think I chose unlocked, which I assume means anyone can use my wifi. That doesn't bother me too much, only because I don't know what skull duggery they could do with it.

Gonna be beautiful today. I don't have any plans. Maybe I'll sit out on the porch and read a book. Um, maybe not. Though I am almost done reading The Devil In The White City.

Okay gotta do -something- . Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Dan - Supernice pictures, thanks for sharing! I loved the motorcycle pics and the firetruck! The light blue Firebird Vert with the white interior looked nice. It was sitting next to the white Baracuda Vert. Looks like it was a nice day and for a great cause!
