Jim - It looks like a fine dinner table. The green table napkin must be where you're sitting? The little girl in the chair in the corner has already eaten? She looks stuffed.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Jim - I believe Norm was trying to make a joke about the Raggedy Ann doll in the hi-chair in the upper left corner of the photo. "She looks like she's stuffed", . The meal looks delicious by the way, bon appetite!

It flew right by you, Jim. I thought "she looks stuffed" would draw some humor (maybe another day).

Aloha

Another Easter for the history books. It was a non-event today. Unpacked and sorted, went to the grocery store, went to Awful house. Now it's time for bed.

This morning I decided I'd sleep in. Of course promptly at 7 Tiger wanted to get up. I said, we're sleeping in. Get lost. He was unrelenting until I gave him an ultimatum. I said I'm sleeping till 9 or else. Guess what. Right at 9 here he comes. We lollygagged around before heading to Mom's.

Jamesbo I really miss the big family parties we'd have when I was a kid. Lots of good food, all my grandparents and aunts and uncles and my cousins to run around and play with. Wow that seems like eons ago. Hm, it was.

Norm I didn't get that, either. At first I didn't even notice Raggedy Ann in the high chair.

Funny the green napkin is at the head of the table. More eons ago when my sister and her then dumbass husband lived with us, he'd hurry to sit at the end chair with the arms, because he thought he was the head of the household. Nevermind that my Mom owned the house and he was a guest. Mom never said much because she'd always sit to the side next to the little girl and help her. One time I said to BIL, I'll let you in on a little secret. WHEREVER my mother sits, is the head of the table. I never liked that guy and I know I didn't do anything for him, either.

Short week coming up. Regular day tomorrow, then probably overtime Tuesday and Wednesday, then off Thursday and Friday. I know I said I wasn't working overtime anymore, but what the heck. I get paid whether or not those clowns act up or not. I'm not going to let them dictate what I do.

Peace

Apparently Old Man Winter won't let go of his formidable grip - cold, raining & plain ugly. I need a springtime lift so I bought a set (4 place setting) of these hoping they'll improve the forecast.

Norm - Same crappy weather here, 48° at noon with a cold wind from the north. Freeze warning for tonight, this weather sucks. Sharp looking dinnerware!

To the person I saw dumping/emptying your car's ashtray with ~50 cigarette butts/filters onto the pavement of the grocery store parking lot, I hope you die a painful early death. You & others like yourself are a burden on humankind and we are much better without you occupying space & inhaling our planet's air supply. I used to confront these people - are dart blow guns illegal? I am so fed up with the apathy of humankind.

Kenneth - That sucks just as bad as me having a freeze warning tonight! Sure would be nice if we could meet in the middle somewhere around 75'ish.

I was reviewing this summer's expected weather conditions in particular because it's a La Nina weather system this year. Regarding the area of Colorado & Northern Arizona - dry & hotter than average. I'm thinking Lake Powell will be bone dry by mid-July. Lake Powell is now sitting at ~24% of full pool. This could get ugly this summer.

Same w/ friends of mine in Milwaukee, Dan. Snowed all last night, 70s this weekend. That's why they're called frontal systems.

Projected low of 32° overnight tonight, projected high of 83° Friday, just nuts!

Now, now Ralph - don't get your panties into a bind, you know the difference(s) between a HP system & a LP system in the Northern Hemisphere this time of year.

I'd like to think I've gained a little more patience in my elder years (maybe not), but the warmer weather can never come soon enough for me! Not that I want 5-months or more of triple digits like Kenneth, but 80's and even 90's sound good at this point. I'd rather it be 90 than 30 any day.

My Azaleas all blew away yesterday & this morning with the passing front. My Ligustrum should begin blooming sometime next week I believe.

Peonies won't bloom until June, with the Rododendron's (sic?) maybe a little earlier. Then Iris. I have a wild rose bush on the south side of the house which might bloom in late May, but with the lingering cold weather, it may take longer.

If you note on the forecast I posted above, we'll get a "Arizona cold front" on Friday that will drop the temps into the low 80s. This frontal system may cause issues for some of y'all as it passes through your area.

Aloha

Hm, was beautiful today but now getting chilly. It's supposed to be 40 in the morning but warm in the afternoon, with 80s by the weekend. Kenneth, oh Kenneth.

Yep Glenn that's the car. Hope someone doesn't scoop me by the weekend. He's already lowered the price by 500 bucks. Maybe he'll do that again before I get there.

Jamesbo those purple flowers look like what I have in front of my house. They are the same color. They look like roses but don't smell like anything.

Mom had the kitchen mostly put together tonight when I got there and had pork chops going. How nice to eat at home and not out somewheres. Now, dinner at Mom's every night for forever wouldn't be bad at all. I never fix anything good for myself. There's no point in making a big mess for one person.

Norm you could have scooped up the butts and deposited them on the hood of their car when they went inside. And then peed on their door handles.

Well, work early tomorrow. I don't know if the plan is to work Saturday, buy my plan is to eat fried chicken.

Peace

Mike, this was my smoker / grill yesterday. A family pack of chicken breasts that I butterflied into 12 pieces, a bag of asparagus spears, two bacon wrapped fillets of sirloin, and a pork tenderloin with smoky chipotle rub.

I cooked for two people, but it will last all week, and we'll likely freeze some for later.

Kenneth, Looks WONDERFUL. Do you also freeze the asparagus?

Mike, The "purple shrubs" are Formosa azaleas. I rooted them years ago from a plant in Pensacola Florida. I'm surprised or mom didn't have some when she lived down there. They are everywhere in Pensacola

In Hotlana you usually see more pink and white azaleas. Most of them are a smaller shrub

I know y'alll haven't been sleeping worrying about repositioning my Jerry cans on my trailer. Welll to but you minds at rest. The angle iron worked like a champ. Mission Accomplished

Got my new stencil packages while I was out of town over Easter

Norm , I think it was Clarence Darrow that said, " I've never killed anyone but I've read some obituaries with great satisfaction"

--Yesterday it snowed like a SOB! UGH!! Today we have a inch or 2.
-- Last week I backed out my driveway with plow truck and noticed a noise from rear and felt brake pedal go down, then back up... Went where I was going and felt/heard nothing out of ordinary. Came back home and my neighbor was walking down road. Stopped and talked to him. He had a brake pad in his hand. "Where did that come from?". "Right in front of your drive." Yep, it was off my truck, right rear, lining on inner pad came off, then steel backing plate somehow came right out. Then pistons from caliper pressed on rotor and broke them. This all happening with no noise I could hear. Checked left rear caliper and found it was leaking brake fluid, so need both rear calipers and pads. About $230.00 at parts stores around here. Went on Rock Auto and found "loaded" calipers ( with pads and brackets) for $50. each. Well after shipping and core charges was about $218, but will get back about $88. from cores- (50.00 each minus 12.00 return shipping) . Well it's back on road again...
--Wife is really doing great, she is sorta bummed out, having shakeyness from the meds, etc but I remind her it was a major surgery and it's only been a month. I am still her nurse but doing less as she is back to doing a lot of cooking, etc. Buddy the dog is doing great but coming into his "adolescent" stage. He was sposta get his ahh, you know, business fixed... on March 1st but he didn't as wife's operation was main focus. I called Vet yesterday about a appt. for neutering and now won't be until June 1st.
