The *NEW* Good Morning Thread!
Chris - What did you end up serving alongside/with the BBQ drawer-pulls? I'll bet they have a video or written resource on-line explaining voice-mail setup.
Mike - Your drive to Macon sounds as much fun/pleasure as having hemorrhoids.
Greg - You aren't making me miss the crusty-rusty salt-laden streets of the Great Midwest, for sure.

I remember the spare in the 70 Vista I bought from dad had the spare in back on the passenger side with a flip cover over it as part of the interior trim. My old volkswagen from what I remember had an access panel that lifted off in the front trunk. Maybe the engineers involved with pick-up truck lines could come up with an idea taken from the success of past designs that worked. I will never forget the night my buddies and I were cruising a county road at 110mph on the speedo and the passenger rear blew and popped that cover off when that tire tread slapped a 5"hole in that inner fender via retread separation, what a rush. Pretty sure we just finished a bowl of red bud and had "snow blind" crankin

Did your original post say "snow bird"? I see it now says "snow blind". I was confused by the snow bird.
Snowblind makes more sense.
My brother 10 years younger than me resides in Marinette, WI. When I was 25 I bought him his first album - Meatloaf: Bat Out Of Hell. The next month I bought him Judas Priest: Rocka Rolla; the third month I bought him Styx: Styx. I've always enjoyed Styx. How could I not having grown up in Chicagoland.

Found instructions for adding the Voice-mail online and it's a done deal.
Chris - Nice looking piece.
VM: "Hello, this is Ralph (you thought you called Chris, right?). No I'm not going to come over & shovel your snow. Don't call again any time soon. Have a pleasant day and an early transmission failure."

Yep, I set up my VM intro just like that, how'd ya know!

I just heard a Joe Walsh interview this morning he said he was on tour with Ozzie for a while but could not remember, he knew it happened because he saw the posters of them together. Part of history that will have a hard time being any better or repeating itself.

Funny $hit. Sounds exactly like Joe.
Good morning everyone.
Except Jamesbo I didn't make it to Macon. I got to Locust Grove. I wouldn't say LG is more than 10 miles from me, it took me an hour, and almost another hour and a half to get turned around and back home.
Doesn't look like there are too many wheels to do this morning. We might just be out before it gets light. Heck I'll go back to bed. Hm, there might have been a reason I was on midnight shift for so long.
Okay hope everyone has a good day and doesn't drink too much tonight.

Norm the Panozzo brothers went to my high school. Sure it was a few years before I did. Someone in their family has(had maybe, I haven't been back in awhile) a funeral home in Chicago Heights. Pretty sure it's the same family, not many Panozzo's around.
I wanted to look at the spare in my Vista Cruiser, so I opened the panel and took out the tire, which was on an original Vista Cruiser heavy duty rim, and what did I see stuck to the side but a placard that said only use limited slip oil in the diff. What a nice surprise. I have the original title but I don't have the window sticker.
Funny, I heard Styx when pulling into work this morning. It was [Wanted Man] I don't know the real name. Don't hear very many non-Dennis DeYoung songs out of them.

John, That's why they have horse races, People like different horses
Chris, beautiful work [as usual] Mike, I used to date this lady from Locus Grove, Wed go down from Oxford to eat Sunday dinner her mother made/ Wonderful fried chicken and cucumber salad. Her last name was Tingle so if we'd gotten married it would have been a joke

Well Glenn, I work with airplane tires, but my best guess would be, if that's a Uniroyal (US Royal) or any other big name, then it probably is the original. I don't recall tire stores selling tires with that fancy strobe stripe. Now I would guess the tire to your 88 is original. But it's been balanced recently.
So at 4 this morning one guy handed me 7 cards and said this is going to be it. There isn't anything in the back and Bill came in early and cleared the rail. Hm, I just signed #31 for me and the rail is full again. I wish people didn't have to be so secretive. That guy knew we weren't only doing 7 apiece why did he have to say that.
One good thing about starting early and leaving at noon is I can hit the Awful house and see some friends. The problem with that is I usually stay 2-3 hours and don't get anything done in the afternoon. Eh who cares. It's nice talking to some different people sometimes.

Speaking of turkey for tomorrow, I picked mine up this morning.

Glenn, I doubt either one of those tires were original- but I am only guessing. I just think that OEM tires were more of a standard whitewall. I have seen dual whitewalls before but never a strobe- pretty cool!!
--Well guys just changed the oil in the 2019 Acadia. First time I have been under it. It came with 2 free oil changes. Pretty easy car to change oil in. I had to look up how to get to the cabin air filter on you tube.
-- After that I drove old red (06 F250) to the store to exercise it. On a dirt road heard a clunk and exhaust got louder. Looked in rear view and saw a pipe bouncing on road. Went back and picked it up. Took to barn and crawled under to see muffler hanging from rear hanger. The pipe that was on road was rusted out and went in front of muffler. Well now it's pretty loud but I'm not gonna fix it. What is left of exhaust system in still held up with hangers. This truck is really rusty!! Even worse than a normal 16 year old Michigan vehicle as it was used as a plow/salt spreader truck for a small city. Came with the snow plow. I have been using it as a 2nd vehicle in the winter and a 3rd vehicle in the summer- That's when my 56 is my 2nd vehicle... Sorry for rambling on- enuff.......

Greg - Sorry to hear about the exhaust on the Ford. Went through the same thing 2-years ago on mine when my 2000 failed State inspection and needed new muffler and one pipe. I went ahead and had them fix it while they had it.
Well, my wife is, 17lb. Honeysuckle White. She will also be making all the fixins, including mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoe casserole (brown sugar/pecans), deviled eggs, homemade yeast rolls, and pumpkin pie with real whipped cream! We will be eating on it for days! I just love Thanksgiving dinner leftovers!
Chris - I had to lookup Honeysuckle White...never heard of them. Sounds like a great company & bird. I think any bird from anywhere would be better than ANY farm managed/controlled/produced or in association w/ TYSON FOODS.
Raised without growth-promoting antibiotics by independent family farmers, Honeysuckle White® turkey is the easy choice for healthy protein, and a simple ingredient statement.
Got a non olds project going (I wish there had been Oldsmobile trucks)
Anyway I have always hated rally wheels. All
the junk I had as a kid had them some with and some without the caps. Well I never knew
there were other caps other than the tall sombrero caps. I always wanted “real” wheels
Been looking for wheels for the 55 truck I wanted something not flashy and I’m on a 5 on 5 pattern so choices are a little limited
I really just wanted some steel wheels and hubcaps/beauty rings. I tried Coker and wheel vintiques. Holy overpriced Batman!
Anyhow my brother pointed me to these and man I have changed my mind. Stepped up to a 17x8 wheel. Drilled in 5x5 and 4.75
I got the short caps and the baby moon caps
I've got a tire ordered and once mounted I can really tell if they will scrub. I’m being a little aggressive and going w a 275/55/17
These are Made in the PRC but for 197$ what can you expect ?

I’ve noticed it’s really odd to find anything in 5x5 and 4.75 together. Usually they do the 5 with 5.5. And the 4.5 w 4.75. The 275 55 was stock on the impala ss (I’m on a caprice chassis )but it had a little different offset and oddly the B body’s seem to have bigger wheel wheels than the 55 truck does. I’m hopeful it will fit and not scrub
ive got Camaro springs up front and stock caprice springs in back so it’s sitting maybe a 1” lower than stock
