Morning All!

Guess I lost my perfect attendance award over the weekend. It was a decent weekend weather wise around here. Cloudy both days, but no rain. Temps in the 50's. It's raining this morning and supposed to tomorrow also. Gonna get a little chilly, but warm back up some. They won't be digging today.

I had to go get my drivers license renewed on Saturday. I didn't know it expired on my birthday in October until I got a card from the state in the mail on Friday, lol!! So there went $26.00! I took Nicole with me, and then we went back to their place and watched a movie. I didn't get home until 3 ish and then cleaned the house.

Her and Dave are going to be moving to Westlake soon. Dave bought a house there. He works in downtown Cleveland and wanted to be closer to work. I wish they would have looked a little closer this side of Cleveland, lol. I don't go to Cleveland, so I won't be seeing Nicole often. Hopefully there is a turnpike exit somewhere close to where they will be living, so I won't have to go through all the traffic when I do go over.

Didn't do much yesterday. Went shopping, then came home and cleaned the breezeway out. Swept up all the dead leaves my plants are dropping out there and put down the clean rugs. Puttered around outside some.

I only work today and tomorrow! Then I'm off until next Tuesday! I really should go to Phoenix and visit my friend out there. But if I do, I know I don't want to come back here. So I better stay away.

I asked Larry if he cared if Dave joins us for Thanksgiving. He said "nope". I said you're sure?? I don't want to add to the stress and tension. He said he didn't care. Then he said how he doesn't "hate" anyone.... I said coulda fooled me. He vented a little about Nicole and how she lied to us and wrecked the car last year and such. I said she already apologized to you for lying, it's in the past. He really holds grudges. I hope he talks to Dave some and doesn't just glare like usual. I am not looking forward to the day. He can vent to my sister Jean as usual. He always does, lol!! Then he'll feel better.

He did hang Christmas lights on the house Saturday!!!! Bought some for the little trees too. I wanted to take his temperature, lol! Last year he boycotted Christmas and everything to do with it. Maybe this year he remembers how ugly he acted last year and is trying to change!! That would be a wonderful thing!

I'm going to bring Lin down to spend the night Wednesday since I have to go up and take her for another doctor appt. in the afternoon.

Jamesbo..... I like the white meat! And I don't like stuffing in the bird. I like it drier, lol. Thanksgiving is about the only time I eat turkey. Just not crazy about it.

Well have a great Monday all!!

Most people these days buy that stove top stuffing crap. Don't know what real dressing is. My mom cooked three types, standard with day old bread, cornbread, and wild rice. I liked them all and my wife and I still do it the same way she did.

Mawn'in all

Anutter warm one today in de 70's

Pat,

I agree wit cha. People who use dat "Stove top " stuff should be thrown in jail.

I think it's time fer a "Dress'in Lesson"

Although there are many variations includ'in add'in oysters.

The basics are;

Dried corn bread /and or bread
Celery, onions,
chicken stock
Salt/Pepper
Sage [I don't like much but sum people load it up]

Then add what cha like, oysters, Cooked chicken, pecans, hard boiled eggs.......... What ever

Mix it all up, put it a pyrex dish and put it in de oven until the edges brown but it's not dried out. Dat's de trick not lett'in it get too dried out.

Me. Mine has a whole cooked chicken shreaded up in it.

Dang, I made myself hungry again

Y'all have a wonderful day

But don't buy any of that stove top stuff or de food gods will haunt cha.

Morning All!

Cloudy and cool here today. Got rain coming in later they say, we're supposed to get anywhere from 1/2" to 1". Like we haven't had enough rain already this year?? But it's going to be a nice Thanksgiving day and through the rest of the week. Saturday we're gonna be at 67 or so!! Wish it could stay like that all winter, lol! I'll be out putting Christmas decorations in the yard.

Gonna take down the fall/Thanksgiving decorations probably on Friday, and schlep them back upstairs and then sort through all the Christmas stuff and see what I want to schlep down.

I'm not gonna be doing any "Black Friday" shopping. We used to when Nicole was little and it was fun to buy things. This year I'm doing mostly gift cards for everyone. It's hard when people get older and there's really nothing they need other than things like postage stamps and that kind of stuff.

I don't know if old grumpy *** wants anyting this year or not. Last year he wasn't celebrating Christmas, but this year he did put up lights, lol, so maybe he's getting some spirit, and remembering how miserable it was last year! I can always hope, lol.

Jamesbo...... I won't tell ya that Larry likes Stove Top, lol! I used to make my own dressing with the bread crumbs, celery and all that, and I liked it!! He doesn't. I know some people who add the giblets to the dressing... I don't like that. I don't eat that much of it anyhow. We always have soooo much food.

I have a lot to be thankful for this year. Heart is good, nothing hurts at the moment , family is healthy, Nicole is still alive, lol, Larry's business is good, I have a job, a newer vehicle, and Teepo! Life is good!! Got to meet Adrian and Paul! I'm missing The Colonel and Blue, though. Sure wish Blue would come back......

Well you all have a great day! Where has Scot been - again??? Wolfie?? Ken?? Don??

Stove top does have a use. When you have a hole in a wall plug it with the stove top as it acts like a paste let harden then sand and paint. Your house may smell like old chicken for a while but it will dissipate over time

Good afternoon mawnin people!!

Feels great outside, but a cold front w/ bad weather is supposed to roll in this eve.

Well all this talk about dressin' and stuffin' is making me hungry It's a good thing that this is my Friday But the real Friday, will be my Monday and I will probably be too stuffed to werk. LOL I've got to get ready for the cast of Spartacus again I don't know why we can't go bombard their homes sometimes. Anywho, let's just hope there isn't too much mail for "Black Friday"

Well I have been super busy again and that's why I haven't posted. My nephew has been neglecting his Phord truck and I started by changing an idler pulley that the bearings were shot in. I caused a domino effect by touching a Phord and had to change a plethora of parts. Nothing I did physically, but I couldn't leave him stranded so....... Coil pack, spark plugs, spark plug wires, oil, filter, radiator, tensioner pulley, serpentine belt, transmission fluid, radiator cap and 2 gallons of antifreeze. $400.00 and 8 hrs later he was back in business. I set him up on a payment plan but I told him to be looking for something dependable and if he wants me to help work on it, it better nor be anutter Phord

Well I guess I better get off of here for now. If I don't get a chance to post before Thanksgiving, I want to wish everybody a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Scot

Good to hear from ya Scot! I get worried when I don't hear from ya! Glad all is well. Sounds like you have been busy, lol. Nothin like turnin wrenches! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well! No one ever invites us to their houses either. We always cook.....

Today is my last day at work until next Tuesday. We get off the day after Thanksgiving, but I added 2 vacation days. I get 2 weeks (10 days) vacation time every January. We can only carry over 5 vacation days into the following year, and have to use them by the end of June. So I'm carrying over 5 days, but had 5 days to use by the end of December, and 2 personal days. Can't carry over the personal days. Use em or lose em! I'm using one personal day and one vacation day in December. It works out pretty well. I'll be taking some Monday's off or half day Monday's next summer so I can get to the Riverfront, lol!!

It's pouring hard rain out here this afternoon. I can believe we'll get an inch out of this one! Supposed to clear tomorrow afternoon though, and be nice the next several days. Hope so.... I'm tired of gray skies! Need to see the sun!!!

Well, I seemed to have survived the day where I transition over the hill in my life - the big 4-0... I have been dreading this for a long time. And as usual, I am a year older but not a second smarter.
Hopefully i will fix that by drinking some Blue Moon Winter Abbey Ale - great seasonal beer!
Looks like we are all getting ready for the holidays and hope everyone has a safe and sane one! It will be 73* on Turkey day here, so better wear shorts and take extra cold beers.

'Nite, all....

Morning All!

Well Happy belated birthday Rob!!!! Congrats on making it up the hill! Life begins at 40 - or so they say anyhow, lol. Now ya gotta start goin down that hill - No, you don't really stay there on top of it all that long. Just remember....... Jamesbo will always be older than you, lol! (love ya Jamesbo)!

So where is everyone this morning? Clint wasn't on yesterday..... maybe out traveling??

It's dark and cloudy here and very windy this morning. Supposed to clear up later today. We have standing water everywhere. It was an ugly drive coming home from work yesterday evening. I just have a hard time seeing anymore driving in the dark when it's pouring rain and there's lights and glare everywhere. Water was standing on all the roads and the rain was like the cow on the flat rock! They're saying we could get snow next week, as cold air is gonna be coming at us.

Well we haven't seen anyone out here digging a gas line yet. I'm just hoping we don't run out of hot water tomorrow! The propane tank is running on fumes and the hot water heater is the only thing using it. If we do, it won't be the first time I've had to boil water on the stove and dump it in the sink to do dishes, lol. I'd prefer not to run out, though.

I have a pumpkin pie in the oven now. Gonna make a cherry one later. Have to get the deviled eggs made too. Nicole is gonna come over sometime this morning and she's gonna go up to Lin's later with me.

I'm just hoping tomorrow isn't too tension filled......

It sure is nice to be at home instead of at work, lol! Even if it is ugly and I can't be outside. Next year I'm gonna take my days in the summer. I try to save them in case something comes up, though. You never know...

Well better go and get busy. If you're traveling, be careful and have a safe trip!! Hope everyone has a blessed day tomorrow and makes it through the holiday with little stress!!

Morning All!

Happy turkey day to you all!! It's a beautiful day here. Sun finally came out and it's in the 40's heading to the low 50's. I remember so many Thanksgiving's with snow on the ground.....

Larry put the bird in early this morning. It smells sooooo good! Just stuck the baked beans in the oven, yams are ready to go. Veggie tray and meat tray are done, deviled eggs made, pies made. Have to cook taters to mash later, and make a couple cans of hominy.

Went down to Giant Eagle earlier. The place was packed!! I did win $50 on a $5 scratch off ticket! I am pleased with that.

I hope we can have a nice dinner today without too much snorkiness........ You all have a great day and enjoy your families and friends!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

But aren't all of you celebrating it a little late? All these thanksgiving posts about the meals you are all having is making me hungry.

Sandy, just be glad all that rain wasn't the more solid stuff. We got a couple of inches here yesterday. Everyone seems to forget how to drive in the snow during the first snow fall every year. We even had a city bus roll into the ditch, but luckily no one but the driver was on it, and he was ok.

Happy birthday Rob! (I know I'm a little late)

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was okay, nothing special.
Today was warm out; went on a 180 mile bike ride instead of fight the mad shoppers in the morning. I did raid the liquor stores on the way home though! Anyone who likes pumpkin pie needs this stuff:

http://www.kybourbon.com/index.php/f..._cream_liqueur
I got 4 bottles at my favorite shop at a bulk price.

Thanks all for the belated b-day wishes. Not an age I am proud of, but it happens. My sis gave me a gift in a bag that said "40 - the ultimate F-word".

Evenin All!

Well we survived turkey day. Nothing to write home about. Glad it's over. Ate too much and enjoyed having my side of the family around! I just warmed up a plate of leftovers a little while ago. Yummmm. Went to Wal-Mart last evening after dinner. They were setting up for the 10:00 madness to start. Had cartons of stuff everywhere and isles blocked off. Went in today, and they still had quite a bit of stuff sitting around. One of the cashiers was telling me there were fights last night, guess the cops were called and people tased and what not. I don't know why people have to act like animals.

I also went in to Kohl's today. It was packed! Lines were very very long. I didn't get anything, just looked.

It was another beautiful day today! We got up to 61 degrees and it was sunny. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice too.

Came home and took Thanksgiving decorations out of the yard and we brought some Christmas stuff down out of the garage. Gotta tote the other stuff back up tomorrow.

Have a good evening all!

Evening All!

Another beautiful day here. 62 and sunny. I'm really worried about all the flowers I have trying to come up already! They must think it's spring! My Hydrangea bush is just covered with buds!!! This is not normal. I really hope they come back in the spring like they should. I don't know. Sure would be nice to have this weather all winter, lol.

I schleped down containers of Christmas stuff from upstairs in the garage today and started decorating inside the house some. I should have started Teepo on one of my many trips past her, but I didn't.

Reckon I'll decorate more tomorrow. I'm off Monday too, and would just like to sit around and not do much of anything, lol.

I grilled a nice London Broil tonight for supper and grilled me a sweet tater too. It was good!!

Well you all have a nice evening!

I kinda let the computer rest for the weekend. Was nice just to spend time with family eat to much, drink to much, tell to many stories and just chill. Things will be back to normal on Monday. Taking my bride on a trip for her birthday on Thursday gonna find some sunshine in southern Cal for 6 days. She turns the big 65 on Friday. Big day now we will both be on social insecurity. Who would have thunk it.

Have a great Sunday all

Well it's 50F here today and all the snow is melting. Last week, my son played in the provincial Tier 1 football final. We lost unfortunately. We couldn't hold on to the ball in the -22F temperatures. The other team had a quarterback who was 6'1" and 175 lbs and he ran it in for all their touchdowns rather than passing it and having a player drop the ball in the cold weather. We lost 28-7. However it was still a good year. The coach explained to the kids that that's what life is all about. Even though you think you should have won, life is not always fair sometimes and you have make the best of it. We did win city and defeated Calgary's city champ.

My son did win the MVP for Special Teams at the awards banquet on Friday. At 14, going into grade 10 next year, he's too old to play for this team anymore. He'll see what they have in high school. Two high schools have been calling and trying to recruit him. The coach mentioned that although some of the boys will be facing former team mates in high school, never forget the "Once a Ram, Always a Ram", show your former teammate the respect he deserves.

Going to a Grey Cup party later. The Grey Cup is our version of the Super Bowl. This is the 99th Grey Cup game, BC vs. Winnipeg

My son accepting his trophies from the head coach (who is a provincial judge during the day)

My son Josh pouring sparkling apple juice into their trophies. Juice looked like champaign

Everyone at "our" table won an award, but not all the boys did. There were 4 nominations per trophy, so most at least got recognition.

Looks like our table cleaned up...

Evening All!

It was wet and soggy here all day. It was warm though, in the high 50's. Rain is supposed to last most of the week and we cool down to the 30's towards the end of the week. I sure hope they come and dig even if it's raining..... Sure would be nice to be able to turn the furnace on, lol.

We went grocery shopping today, then I put up my fake tree and got it decorated. Looks cute! I'm pretty much done with decorations now. I did put one animated deer out in the yard in front of the sled. Can't have the sled without a deer to pull it, lol.

Congrats, Ken!! Looks like a good time was had by all, and they really cleaned up, lol!

Citcapp.... enjoy your vacation in sunny California! Where you gonna go out there?? I'd like to go back out there some time. I liked San Diego.

I'm off tomorrow, so I'm gonna go down to Highland Rd. Auto Body and talk to Bob again about my rims. I haven't heard from him so I don't know what's up. Don't have much else planned. I want to work in Nicole's room and put some of her things in storage containers and take to the attic to keep. I don't want her moving out stuff from school years and such that will end up getting lost or torn up or something. I'm not sure she'll be with Dave forever anyhow, so I'd rather keep the keepsake things for her until later in her life. They're supposed to start moving in to the house he bought in Westlake tomorrow, I guess.

Well reckon I'll talk to you all tomorrow. Did I mention that Teepo is a calendar girl again?? I'm sooo proud! Just a small pic this time, but I am honored!!

Have a good evening.
