Morning.

Off from travel. Did two 17,5hr days in a row to get out of there. No crying from bosses about hours yet? But was fun times.

When my wife comes from work, we head 4 hours worth of driving to north, to see his friend over weekend. Think it turns out to be fun.

GAOldsman - Never heard about Flora-Bama before, learn something new

Okay, have a good weekend everyone.

Mornin all.

Mike, It was a good time. Not ready to go back next weekend tho. I'd rather take her for a nice drive to somewhere less busy.

Scot. She has 3.23:1 from the factory. So the gear change should be a noticeable drop in the 60' times at least.

Have a weekend. Be safe.

Fried eh again....

Yesterday I decided to shampoo the carpet and front seat in the Saturn. No one hardly ever sits in the passenger seat, much less the back so they didn't get anything except vacuum. The carpet looks like new again which is pretty incredible because it's gold. Then again I've always made sure there were floor mats protecting it, and not much dirt gets tracked into the car anyway.

Clint - Thank you sir. I actually read the instructions for that unit before I fired it up. The Honda engine is surprisingly quiet, and when it's idled down it's extremely quiet. At full rpm it's around 55db. I'll need to buy some pump saver to condition it for winter storage. How's the addition going?

Jim - I got some wicked Hot chili peppers you can put in your chili. Garonteed ta clean out yer inerds.

Jouni - You're a really hard worker. You must go through gallons of water every day to stay hydrated. I doubt they let you drink beer to keep up your electrolytes while you're on the job.

Brian - Fishing can be so relaxing. What kind of fish?

I guess today is the Sonatas turn for an interior clean. Good thing it's not gonna be too hot.

The granite for the counters is starting cuts today.

Never tasted crappie, is it like perch? Walleye are fantastic eating.
nothing quite like cooking them up fresh right out of the water.

Evening all,

Busy day decorating today, not my favourite job but at least it's finished.

Jouni. You do know you are breaking the European working time directive law which dictates how many hours you are allowed to work? And you wondered why we voted for Brexit!

Should be an interesting Sunday, I'm going to a car show at the Ford testing area in Dunton. I'm taking the Consul with me.

Never been fishing so I haven't got much to contribute about that.

Weather high 60s and lots of sun so very pleasant.

Hi everyone.

Friday. S'posed to be nice this weekend, too. Might head to Ikea this weekend to get my Mom some chairs.

London never fished? I used to fish but found it to be an incredible waste of time. I'd catch a lot and throw them all back. Some find it relaxing. I'm too impatient to fish, really. Why don't they bite already!

Jamesbo I was just at the Awful house and got one of my favorites. Double chili cheese burger. I usually forego the chili because, frankly, it's gross. Something about chili coming out of a bag just doesn't do it for me.

Clint how about ram air. You could use dryer hose.

Okay, gotta finish getting ready and head off. It's been an okay week, not terrific, I wish it would go back to being terrific. Eh, it pays the bills.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Hi everyone.

Not a bad night, worked with my buddy and got out before 5. Beautiful out today.

Jamesbo you sound like that one lady who asked if we could have the eclipse earlier in the weekend because it interfered with her son's baseball game.

Not much else. I've got a vent off the trailer I need to put back together and put back in its place. After 34 years the thin Plexiglas they used for the cover finally gave it up and cracked and turned up. Now I have a thicker piece of plexi that should last at least that long. The other two vents I'm afraid will be in the same shape, but they aren't leaking, yet.

Well gonna get to it. Hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.

Good morning everyone.

Chilly this morning, a tad under 60. It felt good but I don't like where this is going...

Jamesbo enjoy your party. Oh it's tomorrow.

Gonna keep working on the trailer today. Almost got the vent on, my neighbor called me over for dinner and that was that.

Okay have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Beautiful out, again below 60 when I went out this morning. Cool weather this early sure isn't going to do us any favors later on.

Dan have fun at the car show. I wanted Saturdays off so I could go to car shows this summer. So far I've been to exactly zero. Trouble is working Friday night. Get home Saturday morning and I want to go to sleep.

Jamesbo you're breaking your own rule. How did the chili turn out?

Got some errands to run and maybe I'll do some more work on the trailer. Pulled the awning out for the first time yesterday and now I can't get it to retract all the way. Not sure what's going on there.

Well safe holiday to everyone have a good day.

Afternoon all

A day for drizzly rain in the morning and sun in the afternoon.
Good car show yesterday at the home of product development for Ford, so it was only right that I took my Consul. I won the prize for rarest car at the show. Lots of interesting US muscle there as well and even one solitary Olds.

Just about to give my wife some good news. She has got through to a lifetime achievement awards final in the childcare industry which is a fantastic accolade. It also means that we have a swanky awards ceremony to go to in central London in November, it's a bit like the Oscars for childcare.

Jim you are correct. How can people be so inconsiderate to arrange stuff on the one day you have out of your busy schedule to play golf!!

Had a wondermous time on the Redneck Riviera. Even swung through and fed the Indians at the reservation of Atmore, AL a couple bucks on the way home. Didn't get home until 2 AM but was well worth it.

Have a great day, I'm going to relax

Spose ta be nice today with rain coming in tonite

Scot, Glad ya had fun, that's my favorite place to eaat Isn't it interesting that Indians [feather not dot] and the state can do something we'd go to jail for [gamble]

London, Congrats to your bride

Mike, I know, all I've been doing lately is cooking and cleaning for other folks. The Chili was fabulous but the Super model wanted me to make another batch for her son to freeze. He's now good to Y 3 K

I cooked up some really good biscuits for my 90 y.o. bud in the mountains and learnt a new trick. If ya freeze the butter and then grade it into the flour it makes "ricing" the flour a breeze

BTW Allan I had to sneak out very early to beat the crowds on the course yesterday 44/44

BTW Allan I saw your meatloaf of FB . Do you mix ground poke with ground beef? I do

After smacking whitey around yesterday, went to a family [hers not mine] BBQ It was stow bout but not too bad. The good news is there wasn't any family killing or any cross words between the 7 sisters

Have a great day Olds friends

Mornin all.

Mike, I actually do have dryer hose on my Dmax along with an insulated air filter box. But since our atmospheric pressure is less, I'm not sure that ram air would be as effective as down there.

I assume all the haze here is from Allans grill?

Have a Tuesday all.

Good morning,

Tis the first day of school for the yard apes here. I feel sorry for the teachers. Kids today don't seem to have much respect for anything, and the school system doesn't appear to be the remedy. Neither are these little brats parents.

Jim - Good round. I didn't expect you to get it in. Wasn't there a bit of a crowd on the links because of the holiday? Nope, I don't mix poke wit my beef. There was a whole lb of bacon wrap on it. It ended up bigger than I thought and the grid only did the bottom and part of the sides so I had to improvise. Most of the ingredients were fresh from the garden. It was delish.

Clint - Sorry bout dat. How's the porch construction?

Scot - The pics looked great, aren't vacations like that fun?

London - Congrats to you on the win and your wife for the achievement. We could use your wet drizzle here.

Jouni - .Staying alive is the name of the game.

Gotta head out soon for a dental appointment. The choppers need their quarterly cleaning. Then off to to the ophthalmologist in the afternoon for my yearly checkup. I hate that stuff they put in the eyes to dilate them. Wrecks my vision for a couple hours. Mebbe I'll get the boy to drive me instead of taking the bus.

The down side of someone who works second shift, and gets up at 6AM for a car show is, I'm really tired right now. really cooled off around here, in the 60's at the moment. I have a wedding to attend for one of my best friends step daughter this weekend, a casual affair on the shores of Lake Michigan. It's gonna get a bit nippy come sundown.

Howdy All

I was busy busy today at work. My Monday

Thanks Jamesbo. Yeah it would rank right on up there on my favorite places to eat. Yep it is funny how they have beat the system. Just like the other ones (dot not feather) own almost all convenience stores, cheap motels and Dairy Queens. And they get around paying taxes by selling to a different family member every 2 years

Thanks Al. I didn't take many pics this go round. But yes I love a great getaway, but always make it hard on myself by leaving too late, or in this case a layover to the casino

Have a great evening Oldsmofriends

Hi everyone.

Rain was forecast for tonight, and we got a few drops this afternoon, so maybe that will be all.

Scot glad you had a good time. A vacation sounds nice.

Dan I loved second shift when I was on it. For several reasons. If I needed to be up early in the morning I just went to bed when I got home, instead of staying up later or staying out. I'd do second shift now but I don't like the work they do.

Congratulations to Mrs. London. That's quite an accomplishment.

Brian cool weather is nice but I find wearing a jacket distracting. I'd much rather have hot weather. Now snow, that will make me twitch.

Jamesbo I put pork in my meatloaf as well. Hm, haven't had that in awhile, maybe I'll ask my Mom to make it for me when I'm there this weekend. She said to bring a cooler so that means she'll be making lots of stuff for me to bring home.

Speaking of Mom she just called to tell me the people around her are going crazy because of the hurricane that hasn't hit South Florida yet. I said, it's going to be in Miami and you're in the panhandle. Well it could go either way she said. People were fighting over bottled water at Walmart. I said if you want some I'll bring it. Sheesh. Even if the storm does go that direction they have a few days to prepare. Easy for me to say I've never been in a hurricane.

Okay gotta hit the road. Hope everyone has a good week.

Morning all.

Allan, Its going, but slow. I jack hammered out the step in front of the door on Saturday only to find it was a large hole going down the foundation. Seems lumber was delivered yesterday so hopefully we'll start to see some progress made.

London, cheers to your missus.

I wonder if Jamesbo is posting right now too.

Happy humpday.

Hi everyone.

Jamesbo I've heard more than one person say the entire state will be affected. I don't think it would get to the panhandle by the weekend but I have a bag ready and can go down there at the drop of a hat.

I don't think it made it past 75 today. Marvelous weather. Got home extra late this morning and didn't get into bed until after 8. Slept till 4. I did stop at the gas station on the way home this morning because the Cruze was on sail boat fuel. Saw some funny crime tape around the Awful house and thought, well, I didn't want to go there anyway. Found out later that the company decided they needed their parking lot repaved, so they just showed up unannounced and said okay you're closed this week. A couple of the servers were happy but most were not. Awful house isn't one for paid vacations...

Brian the caulk gun isn't what I'd be reloading.

Okay time to hit it and quit it. Happy Humpy everyone.

Mornin all.

Mike hope she's badly affected. But Irma sure looks like she's gonna screw up the weekend for a lot of people.

Jamesbo, thanks, but you may find yourself in a long wait on occasion.

Allan, We will be re-siding the house once the new porch is built. That is one of the reasons we are doing the porch this year. The hailstorm damaged the siding and roof. So instead of doing the repairs and then 2 years later tearing it off to do the porch, we decided to do it in one fell swoop. The house will still be yellow, but a slightly different shade.
