That Mudder Horn rope ladder has to weigh ~ 10,000 lbs (5 tons). My rough estimate is it can hold 50 people @ 200 lbs/each. While not everyone is going to weigh that much, I'm "sorta" factoring in the weight of the materials used to construct that thing. Impressive.

Instead of shocking electrodes they should consider hanging rattlesnakes, maybe?

Norm - Thanks Norm, Dawn got a big chuckle out of your 1st comment, she said Thanks! Rattlesnakes . . . Maybe . . . Although they're already crazy enough to be doing the **** they're already doing?

Norm - Your friend Mary must be very talented to be the engagement manager for Harrison Ford, and from the pic with Aaron Paul is obviously hanging out with an elite crowd! I love Breaking Bad, it's an awesome series!

Chris - I likely used the wrong term but I couldn't think of it fast enough. Mary is the booking manager for Harrison as in when he might appear on a T.V. show, some game show, some "event", charity function, etc.

Norm - That is exactly how I was interpreting "engagement manager" when you refered to it as her position.

Here ya go, live vicariously thru me, Edy's Mint Chocolate Chip!

I really love the Edy's Peanut Butter Park which is an Edy's variety with Chocolate Ice Cream with swirls of peanut butter fudge in it, along with mini Reese's type peanut butter cups. Every once in awhile though I'll get a real craving for Mint Chocolate Chip which I did tonight. Another flavor I really love is Black Cherry, but I haven't been able to find a brand in a long time that makes it!

Chris the girls looked like they were having a blast. Glad they got home safely. Have some Edy's for me.

Norm I looked in the phone and it tells me what my settings are but doesn't give me the choice to change them. Currently there is a little 4G in the corner of the screen. I suspect that's what it's operating at right now.

Didn't get **** done today. Got over to Mom's after 2, she didn't want to go to Walmart even though I said we could go, so I sat in the recliner alternating between a heating pad and ice pack. Didn't do anything. So I got out my trusty oxycodone. I should be asleep here shortly.

More therapy tomorrow. Before I check in I'm going to talk to the therapist and see what he has to say. I'm not going to be gigged for the session if I can't do anything.

Okay off to bed. Tiger stayed with Mom, so I won't have to get up and let him out tonight. I hate being here without him but moving less will help me. We'll try for Walmart tomorrow. Hope everyone has a good night.

I've realized I have enough to do doing physical work and exercise (if so motivated) to simply look good and be healthy. I have no desire for endurance events for the hell of it.

Kept going at the field clearing today. Kept hitting chunks of concrete in one area. That tough cut mower is tough. The blades have small dings now, but it does not feel out of sorts. I then put the wide mower on it, did all the mowing, then washed it. I need a dobe pad and much soap next time. Put it away and went home. I had the tractor in three corners of the property in 24 hours. The fourth corner may never happen for it.

After work tomorrow I will go finish up with the little mowers and bring them home.

John - I bet you're really appreciating your new tractor/mower with how much you have to keep up with at the new place.

I agree with you 100% on having no desire to participate in organized endurance events when I'm already spending so much time working out during the week. Now if the extra activity was something like Mountain Hiking, just for the pleasure of seeing the scenery, or hunting, that would be a different story!

Greg - Congrats on your 19th year of completing the Motor Tour, that's quite an accomplishment. Glad your Old's ran well for you!

What is the purpose for your upcoming trip thru Ohio/Kentucky and where is your final destination within Kentucky?

Good afternoon guys,

Just a wonderful day today, only 75° at 4pm today, the high for the day. What a nice break from the heat we were having!

Pretty chill day around here today. Got my mowing done yesterday, could have used John's beast of a mower it had gotten so tall, but I got it done. Did some online bill paying this morning and then worked out, that's about it. With the cooler weather Dawn has had Beef Stew going in the Crock Pot all day long, the house smells wonderful. She's making Crescents to go with it. It's really nice having her home!

Next car event is at a VFW in Collinsville, IL this coming Sunday. It was a great Show last year. My SIL Justin (Blaire's husband) and I are planning on going for a motorcycle ride together this coming Saturday morning. He's been riding motorcycles his whole life, but he's never driven a big cruiser bike like the ones I have. He is going to ride one of my bikes and I'm going to ride my other one. He is thinking of buying my Yamaha if I decide to sell it. I wish he had the money to buy my Indian, but I know he can't afford it.

Mike - I hope your back is doing better?

Norm - I hope your R&R on the Storm door has gone OK?

I hope everyone else is having a great day! 😃

I did everything expected of me. Picked up the storm door from the supplier, brought it home, unpackaged it, removed old storm door, removed old storm door molding(s) & assembled moldings onto new storm door. Brought new storm door to front of house entrance door & to my disbelief the new (warrantied) storm door is 1" too wide & it will not fit into the opening. I wanted to **** my pants. I called my supplier today. We reviewed the order (as written). I could get into details of the incorrect width dimension - I think someone at the Andersen factory screwed the pooch and cut it to the incorrect dimensions. At any rate, I expect another call from my supplier tomorrow to see what's next. Obviously, I'm annoyed while attempting to remain positive in discussions. Errors, accidents, mistakes happen - but they should happen to someone else - not me.

Just a couple of pics.

Dawn pulled this pic off the event website. The partner carry. Dawn could not carry my daughter, but my daughter did not have a problem carrying her!

This is supposed to be a high quality storm door. It is a very nice storm door w/ interior roll-up/down screen, etc. and a premium price ($500) nine years ago. Not sure what it sells for today. While it's a very nice storm door, I'm not 100% regarding quality manufacturing. At this point I'm simply trotting the remedy line.

On a couple positive notes: (1) I played a very nice round of golf this morning; (2) The weather was outstanding; (3) The new mower blades I installed yesterday are very nice; and, (4) The new John Deere seat cover arrived 15' ago & it fits very nicely - well made as well, it appears. JD oil filter + JD fuel filter & two new spark plugs arrive tomorrow. Two new JD air filters arrive Wednesday. I'll grab a couple quarts of oil tomorrow, remove the old oil filter & drain the old oil. USPS doesn't deliver until 5:00 pm at my place, but the mower will be ready to install the new stuff.

I haven't been playing much pasture pool lately. Golf should be fun. There is nothing fun about trotting about banging a little white ball when it's +105°F H.I. I'm happy to claim a 10 over par, today.

Wait...I shot 7 over par.

First time I've played this game?

When you said you were +11 after saying you had shot a 79, I just thought you had succumbed to the New Math.

I tell ya, this planet has gone nuts! A week ago it was 100° actual temp here, and right now at 10:30pm it's 54°, with a projected morning low of 49°. WTF

Good morning everyone.

Against my better judgement I came to work. My desk chair isn't as comfy as I had hoped, but I'm managing. The oxycodone didn't do a thing. I had 12 left over from hip surgery, I was all ready to be cured. Nope. They just made me feel hung over. I took one, then took another one maybe 6 hours later. Back to acetaminophen.

Work is moving along this morning, will be at a good point at first break, which is coming up. The therapist said don't sit more than a half hour at a time. Well it hurts to move so do I get up every 30 or stay out of pain. I think it's a pulled muscle, don't know how long that takes to get better. I might bring my heating pad to work tomorrow.

Norm I didn't know you were replacing the whole storm door. I thought you were just replacing a panel. Too bad it came the wrong size. You must have ordered it from the repair shop across the way.

Did some mowing yesterday. Sitting on the lawn tractor isn't painful. We probably have about a month of mowing left in this season. It will be a great relief when I don't have to worry about that for awhile.

Okay gonna get ready for break. Hope everyone has a good day.

Thanks Chris. The best I can tell I have a strained hip flexor. I love these people who write for the medical websites. "It should only take a few weeks to get better." Only.

Work is okay. I stand up for about 10 seconds then sit down again.

I found a new place to buy Valiants. Mexico. The exchange rate favors us. And several people I work with go to Mexico. I can see this working out.

Hi guys,

Went out this morning to go over the motorcycles and make sure they were ready to ride on Saturday with SIL Justin. Primary check was tire pressure and all 4 tires were low, which I assumed they would be. Cleaned windshields and mirrors. Took the Indian for a short ride first, it started well and everything was functioning properly. Went to start the Yamaha and it would barely turn over, despite the fact it was showing "charged" on the tender. Plugged the tender back in on it and got it to start, barely. Took it for a drive just around the neighborhood a few times and it ran fine. Shut it off, then immediately tried to start it again and battery was so weak it wouldn't start. I have plugged it back in on a new tender, the one I was using is pretty old and could possibly have been malfunctioning. Next step is to remove the seat and peel back some other components like the Power Commander 5 Assessory Fuel Contoller/Tuner, and the ECU module to get a look at the battery connections for corrosion. I won't do this step until I see if the newer battery tender makes any difference. I did look up when I put the current battery in it and it was back in March of 2021, that's about the life of standard motorcycle batteries these days. I may be buying a new one??? The Yamaha has a 1900cc engine, as large or larger than some sub-compact cars. It's hard on those little motorcycle batteries to crank an engine that large!

Yep Norm, that's what I'm thinking too. Like I said, I put a newer tender/trickle charger on it, and it's already showing charged now. I'll pull the cover off again later and give it a try and see if it barely turns it. If it is the battery going bad, I'm going to have to pull everything apart anyway, and I can clean any corrosion then.

I'll pull the cover off again later and give it a try and see if it barely turns it. If it is the battery going bad, I'm going to have to pull everything apart anyway, and I can clean any corrosion then.
On several other motorcycles, including my current Indian, the ground wire deteriorates. You won't necessarily see this oxidation (resistance) unless you slice the outer insulation and peel it back several inches. You have a ground wire resembling this condition you need a new one. You can easily see one side of the ground wire is heavily oxidized/corroded while the opposite looks good.

Chris, I am going to "Lloydfest III" at Camargo Ky. I have been going on "The HAMB" website as I go on CO here. The HAMB -(Hokey *** Message Board) is a website about mostly 1965 and older traditional hot rods and customs. A guy on that site (Lloyd) has had a little get together down in Camargo which has been named "Lloydfest". I decided to go there this year. I also found a couple old shipmates who were on the ship I was on at the same time. We are having a "mini-reunion" at a state park in Ohio. So, I am leaving Sept 3rd with truck and trailer early in morn, going to Paint Creek State Park in Ohio- staying 2 nights there, camping with old shipmates- Then leaving on the 5th and going to Camargo for a night or 2 with the car guys- then back to Michigan. It's gonna be great- just hope it's warm enuf...

Norm - That's all great info, I remember when you did that!

I went out a minute ago and pulled the cover off the bike. Disconnected the newer trickle charger/maintainer which was showing fully charged and tried to start it. It sounded like a completely different battery and it fired right up! I'll try it again in the morning to make sure it wasn't some kind of one off, and then again in a couple of days. Now I'm thinking the old trickle charger may actually have been bad? I'm still going to pull the seat off and other peripheral electronics aside tomorrow to get a look at the wiring just for peace of mind. Even if it is fixed/working now, the bigger picture is I am probably living on borrowed time with the current battery?
