Dan - Yes, the Lions got lucky. They looked great in the 1st half, 2nd half, not so much. The Chiefs game was the same way yesterday. Hoping for a miracle that somehow Michigan can save their pride and season with a win in Columbus today, but I sure as hell wouldn't bet on it.

Wow, GR got 9.5, one of my 1st cousins lives there, Dad's brother's girl. It's snowing here right now, light flurries, but nothing on the ground yet. You can barely see the flakes in the pic. House is nice and cozy though with the gas fireplace going in the Great Room, and festive too. Wife finallly got feeling better and felt like decorating yesterday. She won't let me do much other than helping bring the tree up from the basement and setting it up. She likes to do all the decorating, says it's part of her holiday joy.

Hope everyone has a great day!

The bleachers were very cold to sit on and had frost on them when we got there. We were some of the few Black and Orange fans among the Blue and Orange Fans.
The Beavers ended up losing 34 to 18. My grand kids had a good time, it was there first game.
1965CutlassGuy - Huge football fan here! You're a great Grandpa to take the grandkids to a game. Nothing any better than the atmosphere of a big time college football game. I'm glad the kids enjoyed it. It will be a great memory for them! Who could ever forget having to stare at that ugly Boise blue field all afternoon, that just ain't right! LoL

I grew up around football with my Dad being a highschool PE teacher and coach in Michigan where I grew up. I played in highschool and 4-years of college ball at a Div III college in Michigan, loved every second of it! After I moved away from Michigan my younger brother had 2 season tickets to the University of Michigan games. Every other year when Michigan would play Ohio State at home , he would invite me up to see the game. I saw several classics, including the game in 1997 when both teams were undefeated and essentially playing for the Big 10 title and potential for a National Championship. Michigan won 20-14 and went on to win the Rose Bowl and a National Championship. In that game Charles Woodson, playing both ways for Michigan, cemented his bid for the Heisman Trophy. Woodson ran back a punt for a TD, caught what turned out to be a 78-yd reception to set up another Michigan score, and stopped an Ohio State bid for a winning TD by intercepting a pass in the End Zone. Maybe Michigan's most storied victory in that classic rivalry. Great memories!

Hi everyone.
Sitting for a moment, lots of walking. Ive onle seen one 67 Cutlass-type, an F85. Saffron yelliw, 3 on the tree. Theres been a few 68-72 A Bodies, one a 69 442 convertible done up as a Hurst. Saw a nice 66 Starfire.
Theres probably a thousand cars here. They are all nice but after awhile they all look alike.
Time to get going. Now its Christmastime.

Mike - Hope the weather is a little nicer for you down there today. Florida sounds pretty nice right now with what we're getting here. Still snowing and starting to stick on the grass. Supposed to get down into the mid-teens tonight. Too damn cold! Safe travels home.

Jim - I sure did watch it, every second. I was rooting for GT all the way, shame they lost. Great game.

I just watched Michigan upset the #2 team in the country, Ohio State, 13 -10. Michigan was a 20pt underdog. Michigan's defense was stellar, shutting out Ohio State in the 2nd half!

Mike, the 67s could have a triple yellow in only that year. Ed Skaff liked them.

Spent all day yesterday doing Appleseed in the cold. Will do again today. It snowed some last night.

John - It snowed just about all day here yesterday. It wasn't snowing hard most of the time, but by the time it was all said and done around 8pm we had about 5" or 6" on the ground. The bulldogs were plowing snow with their chest just going out to take a leak. I can't imagine is was too enjoyable being out in the cold trying to shoot well. It's only 29° here at 1030. Good luck staying warm today!

Hi everyone.

Left my friends' after a late dinner and drove home last night. Got home right at 2. That way I got home and could take Mom to the store today, I missed all the returning holiday traffic, and I didn't have to sleep on an uncomfortable bed another night.

The show was a success. I didn't come close to seeing everything but what fun we had. Ate lots of fair food but I forgot to get a funnel cake! Really a nice time. The sun came out Saturday and warmed up to I think 60. So it looks like the joke's on me.

My sister is coming to stay for a couple days. Her husband works for a company that is based in Alpharetta, and they are coming back from Maryland, so he's going to stay up there, she's coming here for a couple days then going home. He'll fly home at the end of the week. Sounds convoluted.

John I'm not a fan of the Saffron color, much less triple Saffron. There was a car years ago in Ohio at some high end place that had a triple Saffron convertible for sale for over a year. It was rusty, needed a top, ripped up interior, they -only- wanted 7K. I don't know why I like that car so much but I didn't buy it because by the time I got up there to look at it, they had squirreled it away and were not interested in digging it out. And I talked to the guy they got it from and 7K was about twice what they paid him. It ran okay, and what was left of the top worked. Oh well. I don't know who Ed Skaff is.

Okay gonna work on the tree a little and make some more room on the driveway. My sister has this habit of parking so she's in the way of everybody. So the more space there is MAYBE there will be some space for me.

Okay have a great afternoon everyone. Happy December.

The triple yellow in '67 is a favorite of mine, along with one having SSI's and redlines. Saw a '67 98 convertible at Homingcoming a few years ago that was triple yellow. Glad that I don't live on the east end of Lake Erie, man did they get dumped on. Ordered a center channel speaker from Klipsch. It will replace the 25 year old JBL piece that I currently have. It was half price during their Xmas sale. Gonna put a wreath on the front of the place with lights and a bow, and that will be my decorations for the year. Shouldn't exhaust me too much .

I cut up some more tree stuff and got the chipper out and ran a bunch through it. It was running fine, then I turned it off to clean up a little, and when I went to turn it back on, it wouldn't come on. Cord is good, outlet is good, just won't turn on. Took it apart and the blade turns, the breaker is not popped, but nothing. I'm at a loss. Maybe a winding broke in the electric motor? I thought maybe it overheated so I'll try it tomorrow. Though I'm thinking it still won't run. Hm.

That yellow convertible I wanted to paint a bronze color. The place that had it doesn't show it on their website, so it probably went to auction. That was several years ago anyway. I still remember the VIN number, M160000

So back to work tomorrow. I pick up Tiger after work. My sister is here and we're going to decorate the Christmas tree. Supposed to be nice but cold all week.

Good morning everyone.

Ah, back to work. Seems like I never left. Maybe if I had a more exciting life outside of work I wouldn't mind it so much. Although I don't know how much more exiting you can get than chores and errands.

Cold this morning. Frost on the car and I haven't found my scraper. Never have I been able to park in the garage and have a warm car to get into. I need a barndominium with heated floors.

So Tiger gets picked up after work. I sure have missed him. I thought I might get used to not having to take him out, and not have to look after him, but I feel guilty that I'm comfortable and he isn't. Though the girl at the vet says they give him towels and whatnot to lay on and he pushes them aside and lays on the concrete. What a weirdo.

Okay gonna find something to do while these people get their acts together. Hope everyone starts out the week good.

Mike - This sure doesn't surprise me, we all want those we love, and those who give us love, to be with us as much as possible, I'm sure things don't seem right when Tiger's not around. I hope you have a good week!

Mike, Ed Skaff was a member here out of WV who passed on in 2017. I knew him somewhat well. He was a 67 442 nut, and had the username to match.

I ran an Appleseed shoot all weekend. Did not catch cold, although it was cold. We had snow and ice. My rifle had several occurrences of a specific malfunction due to cold. It needs serious cleaning. Good weekend.

John - That does not sound like alot of fun? Is the rifle you were shooting a semi-auto model? Curious as to the rifle you usually shoot at these meets, make/model/caliber?

When I first started hunting Western game (Elk and Mule Deer) in 1984, I did not own a larger caliber centerfire rifle because they were not a legal firearm in the southern half of Michigan for hunting Whitetail. I did my research and narrowed the possible calibers down to the following: 7mm Rem Mag; .300 Win Mag; and .338 Win Mag. I seriously considered a Browning BAR in 7mm Rem Mag, but after much deliberation, and knowing I would be using it during frigid temps, decided against it. I did end up buying a 7mm Rem Mag, a Remington BDL bolt action. It turned out to be an amazingly accurate rifle right out of the box with a Bausch and Lomb Scopechief 3x9 scope. Never regretted the purchase for a second.

Hi guys,

Well, this old man had a 2nd Thanksgiving today. I finally got the pathology back from my Colonoscopy. All good news! All 4 polyps that were removed were found to be benign with no future risk of cancer. They are however recommending another Colonoscopy in 3-years because of the number (4) found. That's a load off my mind after waiting over 2-weeks for the results. The waiting on the pathology was much worse than the procedure!

Good morning eveyone.

Frost on the pumpkin! Eh, this ain't nuthin. Although I do miss heated seats.

Speaking of heated seats, I went and picked up the SRX yesterday after work. They didn't solve the problem, they chased after a problem the car doesn't have. Perhaps I'm missing something. It threw a code and I said, I left the code available so you could see it, it's some transmission sensor. For whatever reason they started going after some technical service bulletin. They said everything the bulletin says to do has no effect. Duh, because that wasn't the problem. They did a software update. So who knows what they've actually done to the car because the light hasn't come back on. Whatever this sensor is has been a common problem on these cars so I'm gonna save all my nickels and when it happens again take it to Cadillac. Sheesh. But they didn't charge me anything.

Also after work I picked up Tiger. He was glad to be home and I was glad to have him. The medicine they started him on seems to have done the trick, and I'm to continue it for the next several days. What a relief for both of us.

Chris good deal having a clean report. I'm overdue for an exam, my physical comes up next month I'll have a chat with the doctor about it. It's funny listening to these young chaps if the subject comes up, no way am I having that done! I think it was one of the Andretti's that died from colon cancer. One of the last things he said was, how simple this would have been to take care of but I was stubborn, and look what happened.

Decent start here at work this morning, hope it keeps up. The pressure is off, Monday is over. Hope everyone has a good day!

Mike - Thanks for the well wishes on getting the all's clear on the report. For what it's worth,, I wish I had had it done sooner, and I feel fortunate with the outcome.

Glad Tiger is home and getting better. I hope whatever they are giving him continues to work on the itching/scratching and he continues to feel better. We had to take Monty to the vet yesterday because his skin issues continued to get worse and he was having issues with his butt. He has some type of skin infection, and they've sent a sample off to the lab to find out exactly what it is. In the meantime they've put him on a broad spectrum antibiotic that should knock it out, whatever it is. He was also suffering from partially impacted **** glands, something that can be dangerous if you let it go too long. They expressed those and got them cleared. He's getting older, 9 now, which is actually the average life expectancy for an English Bulldog. Although he has been a very healthy dog up to this point, and although I hate to say it, I'm sure we should expect more issues going forward. I sure wish we could turn back the clock to when he was just a puppy and do it all over again! Pic is from the day we went to originally bring him home.

You can do it all over again, just get another puppy! I still think Tiger is young but he ain't. He's 9. The "experts" say you shouldn't expect much more out of a Shepherd. Hm, they never met Max. He lived to be 16.

It was John Andretti that died from colon cancer. He was 56. Men, just get it done.

Boy it's cold in here. Gonna be cold outside today and all this week. I'm tired of this game already. Bring back summer.

Had a short, nice visit with my sister. She's on her way back to Florida. Might take Mom down to Orlando for a couple days at Christmastime.

Project Appleseed does a lot of events, but the main ones are the 25m scaled target event, and the Known Distance 400 yard event. The 400 yard event is done with any centerfire rifle. The 25 meter event can be shot with any centerfire rifle, or any rimfire rifle. As it is cheaper and less punishing, we see a lot of rimfires at 25m now. 20 years ago, we saw M1 Garands, SKS, AKs, M1As. Now we see Ruger 10/22s and AR-15s.

Thanks John. When you personally are shooting a Known Diatance 400 yard event, what rifle do you use most of the time?

Good morning everyone.

Cold as a mother out. Gosh and we're not even close to actual winter. I can see I'm going to be a sniveling crybaby all winter. Even the back up camera on the car was frosted over this morning.

A bit of a bump this morning. A guy came in early and did a couple wheels, and my wall guy gave me one right off. And that's it. The retriever is broke big surprise. Eh, I'm leaving early today.

John why do they call it Project Appleseed? Does it have anything to do with John Chapman?

Guess I'll go for a walk. The department across the hall has a little camp store going on maybe I'll stop in for a snack. Hope everyone has a good day.

Chris, I have too many rifles, but my best target rifle is a Fabrique Nationale Herstal (FNH) FNAR. It's a slightly militarized version of Browning's BAR in .308 Win. The BAR being the modern sporting rifle, not the WWII light machine gun.

Mike, only in spirit. It's a shooting class, at a gun range, but the real point is the history of the Revolution we tell, and how the colonials picked up guns to defend their rights. Appleseed is not a "prepare for revolution" militia thing, rather, it teaches the events of Patriots' Day and others so that Americans can wake up and be involved in government so that another war is never needed. We make sure to not speak of modern politics other than to tell the students that they should contact their congresspeople with their own concerns, which are their business, and be involved. So, we attempt to spread civic awareness and activism, in whatever way each student feels, like John Chapman spread his apple seeds. We support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and our stance politically ends there other than to encourage being active.

John - Thanks for indulging me! I was not familiar with that Make/Model so I looked it up. Cool rifle! Most reviews I read were very favorable in regard to it's accuracy, especially for a shorter barreled, semi-automatic rifle.

Good morning everyone.

Was warmer this morning with the addition of mist. Supposed to be cold after this. Ug. As long as the sun is out...

Slow going this morning. Don't know why. The lead was late and brought croissants. I wonder if he still took PPT. Hm. Nothing seems to be broke, but we are at the mercy of the people up the line. They don't work, we don't have work.

John you're a good and decent group. I hope the members appreciate it and act accordingly.

Got the parts for my chainsaw so this afternoon I'm gonna work on it and maybe get a few big branches cut up. It's been several days since I've worked on the tree project, that's got to get done so I can start some other tedious project(s).

Okay! Got a couple things to look up, my next wheel is on the robot now, then about a half hour for it to fill, so I may see it around 10. Great. Have a good day everyone.

That's a great milestone, congrats! What year/make/model is it?

Unusually cold here in the St. Louis area today too. The high was only 26° this afternoon, and it's supposed to drop down to 15° overnight. Way too cold too early.

Good morning everyone.

Cutlassguy that's a nice looking truck! I have a little Saturn wagon that turned 200K and I took a picture. Geez, that's a lot of miles. I had a Volkswagen Bus once that had over 300, though it was on its third engine.

Chilly out this morning, but must not be too humid because there was no frost on the car. Gonna warm up this weekend but I have a feeling rain will be behind it. My friend said he'd rather have warm and rain. I said I'd rather have cold and dry. Cold and dry doesn't get mud all over my house.

Chris in the spirit of your other thread you got going, but not to outdo you, today I've owned the Amphicar 30 years. Tomorrow I'll have owned the diesel Suburban 3 years, and earlier this week turned 27 for the white Suburban. All of this is child's play, because in November I turned 40 with my first Cutlass. I think the only other oldie I have is my first Valiant, I've had it 37 years. See what you have to look forward to? Seriously, I'm glad you are enjoying your car, that's what it's all about.

So yesterday, the lead had a tantrum and went home! All the leads are getting new desks and they are all being grouped together. He was supposed to have his desk cleaned out and ready to move by Wednesday. He didn't. So another lead went ahead and took all his stuff out and moved everything while he was out walking around. He got so mad, he went home. So much for being a professional. Being Friday I doubt he'd show up today anyway, but my guess is he won't be here because he's in a snit. How funny. Good thing we got breakfast first.

Well in a couple minutes we'll see what's what on this Friday. Hope everyone has a great day and great weekend.

It used to be if you walked off the job that would be considered you quit and if the company took you back you'd have to start all over again at the bottom of the totem pole, starting over at base pay and all your benefits gone. People knew this and it kept them from pulling antics like this individual did.

That's a sharp looking truck for it's age and mileage. It looks to be in really nice shape. 👍

I have a 2000 Ford XLT Supercab 4x4 with the 5.4L and tow package that I bought new. When I bought it it was primarily used as our family's tow vehicle, being used to tow our boat and a dual axle trailer I used to haul wood. For the last 15-years it's been relegated to being just a secondary vehicle to haul stuff for my children and to haul furniture for my wife's refinishing business. It only has 105K-miles on it. It's sat out in the driveway (space issues) for the last 15-years and is developing some rust in the usual spots, but it still runs great!

Eh, Big D doesn't really operate like that. When you come back you might get a good talkin' to. Besides, if they fired you they wouldn't be able to hold anything over your head. The lead came in today, I was surprised. He did seem unusually quiet, and a little distracted.

Mike - Wow, you sure have had some of those vehicles for a long time! Is the Cutlass still running?

That Lead really is a jackass! I'm surprised he has'nt been fired already for insubordination. He wouldn't have lasted very long where I worked that's for sure!

Good morning guys,

Very chilly last night with it down in the mid-teens, still only 25° at 11am. I will only make it to the mid-30's today with bright sunshine, but is supposed to warm back up into the mid-50's over the weekend. That will make it comfortable in the garage for putting the finishing touches on a few small detailing tasks I want to do on the 4-4-2.

Well, what's on tap for this weekend. Football of course is one big thing. Several college conferences have their Conference Championship games on Saturday, and I definitely want to see the SEC and Big10 Championships. Got to watch my Lions win last night in a thriller over the Packers, and my Chiefs play the Sunday Night Football game.

Grandson Gabe has a hockey game Saturday evening at 8:45pm that we're going to. Then my Archway Old's Club is having their annual Christmas luncheon/dinner from 3 -7pm on Sunday. Plenty of fun on tap, I certainly won't be bored.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Tis the Season 🎄 🎅 🤶

No Chris the Cutlass gave it up long ago. Then a tree smashed it flat. But being my first car I just can't be rid of it. I have every part to make it new, just need a good place to start and someone who can weld. It was pretty rusty even when I got it in high school, and would be a losing proposition as far as restoring a car goes. But it's my car and I'm gonna do it. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of the car when I was in high school to post.

The lead has well over 30 years with the company. And in the same shop. For the longest time we had a foreman who didn't give a $hit, he'd been in the same shop the same amount of time. He was never here, always on vacation, so everyone got used to doing whatever we wanted. But now there's a new sheriff in town, and a couple new leads, and things are changing not to my lead's liking. I see him retiring sooner rather than later.

So I just found out that the guy that did Tony the Tiger's "They're Grrreat!" is the same guy that sang the Mr. Grinch song. Thurl Ravenscroft. Hm.

My Tacoma is 1.5k miles out from 300k. Still on original brakes, shocks, clutch. I did do a decent amount of maintenance to it this year: battery, belt, alternator, pos terminal, valve cover gaskets, plugs, cat converter, O2 sensors, clutch hydraulics, oil and filter.
