Norm - I'm sorry I didn't comment earlier on your post above. I had meant to, but then I got so wrapped up in worry about my wife's situation I forgot. I sure ain't no doctor, but I know enough about the "Bic C" to know an SCC is a more serious form than a BCC. I'm sure you and your Doctor will be all over it and hyper-vigilant. I hope your recovery is progressing well still and want you to know you are in my prayers.

She's a sex appeal content creator, not a serious wrencher. She looks like she can only put out about 30 ft lbs with that wrench and those arms.

Hi everyone.

Chris glad things came out fine with your wife. I think it was more than 15 minutes when I had that spot taken off my lip. So far nothing has come back, wish the same for your wife.

Beautiful day here. Went to a meeting this afternoon. The property around the airport was not owned by the people(of whom I'm a part) owning the airport. That property was recently sold and the new owner wanted to get together and make sure everyone was on the same page. He wants to build warehouses and T hangars, but doesn't want to disrupt the airport. He seemed on the up and up, but I'm not sure I like him. Honestly, if he wanted to buy out the airport for about a million for each member I wouldn't mind. I didn't bring that up.

Walmart tomorrow, and it's going to be nice so I might do some things outside. Not having luck with my push mower at Mom's. It runs on starting fluid but not gasoline. The mower is 4 or 5 years old and I think that's about all the life these cheep mowers have. Maybe if I bought an expensive machine and actually maintained it I'd have better luck. Maybe not.

Okay have a good evening everyone. Happy Easter.

Chris, glad to see that it went well with your wife's surgery. Norm, glad that you got that squamous cell carcinoma taken care of, can get nasty. I have mentioned before that I get an annual cancer screening, and wouldn't ya know it, I got a letter from them on Friday telling me that I have to reschedule. Seemed like they would have called and saved a stamp.

Happy Easter.

We have a front passing through. Was 84 and sunny yesterday, the AC was running. This morning it’s overcast and raining, and the temperature is 50 degrees. A second wave with more rain is supposed to pass through tonight. Just saw on the morning news that 180 mile section of I-40 (with Flagstaff in the center) is closed due to blizzard conditions.

Happy Easter.

I am cleaning house and preparing the lot for company next weekend. I bought 34 gallons of ethanol free gas yesterday, along with filling the truck, and putting a 1:4 gas/diesel mix in a diesel tank for my drip torch. Also sprayed roundup with the pump sprayer for weeds and sprayed talstar with a hose sprayer for bugs. Of course, it rained a couple hours later for a bit. Will try to mow today, and keep cleaning.

Lost another member of the H/OCA. I run too many obituaries in Thunder & Lightning it seems.

I always add a surfactant to any herbicide, fungicide, pesticide sprayer. It helps considerably to break surface tension & allow the spray liquid to thoroughly migrate across surface of the leaf(ves). Nothing fancy - simple Dawn dish detergent works well.

Norm - Approximately how much Dawn do you add per gallon?

Happy Easter Everyone

Had my car out to another event yesterday evening. Mid-70's, sunny, and much better turnout than last weekend. It was held at a Raising Canes Restaurant about 12-miles from me. The Manager and host DJ pick 3 cars for prizes, I got 2nd and received 3 gift cards for free combo meals and a baseball cap. There were some really nice cars & trucks there. If you'd like to check them out you can find them here.

I sprayed weeds yesterday, too. Hopefully there was sufficient time and sunshine for it to be taken in before the rain started.

With all the rain we’ve been getting the desert will be green and there will be lots of wildflowers and cactus blossoms. Gonna have to take a sight seeing drive through the mountain areas soon.

Kenneth - One time when I was in Phoenix for a class it was in the Springtime and everything was in bloom. I took the time to drive up Southpark Mtn. to Dobbins Lookout to checkout the view and it was spectacular, well worth the drive. How far are you from there?

Hi everyone.

Happy Easter. Beautiful day. Pretty much like any other day, Walmart then chores. I was sanding in the bedroom and climbing up and down a ladder and crawling along the floor. I'm starting to stiffen up. Might forego MASH tonight and hit the sack early.

Jamesbo is that 350 a good core? Do all the parts come with it to make it a complete engine? Do you know what it's out of? Is it at your house or the lake? I'll come up this weekend if you have a way to get it into the truck. And I'll buy the pizza.

Speaking of lakes, when I bought my Amphicar many moons ago and got it running I bought some life vests to leave in the car in case I was giving a ride to someone who wanted to use one, or children, and all these years later I still have those same life vests. They don't seem too bad but is that something that just gets old and needs to be replaced?

Norm somehow I missed you were having a procedure as well. I'm sorry. I hope it's coming along. Why did you go to Wilmington? Is that close to you? Wilmington was the first place I ever, ever saw the ocean. I was 18. My sister lived in Fayetteville at the time and I think it was about an hour's drive. Loads of fun playing on the beach.

Okay, time to relax. Hope everyone has a good week coming up and doesn't get zinged by jokes tomorrow.

Mike - I went to Wilmington on my dermatologist's recommendation which required two specialists - an MMS surgeon occular specialist & an occuloplastic ophthalmology surgeon. Both surgeries conducted same day two hours apart from each other. It wasn't a fun day. My friend (Barry) was nice enough to come along. We both ate real good the night before. I can almost see clearly from my left eye. Recovery has taken some time but trending in a positive direction.

Close, very close. My previous house was on the S. Mtn. preserve border (southeast area) and I walked the dogs there morning and evening. I’m now 3 miles further south and I regularly hike there.

I was meaning driving out of the city to the “real” desert wilderness to see the spring blooms.

There is absolutely nothing in downtown that I care about. I’m bummed that I have to drive 50+ miles to get out of the city to the wilderness for 4 wheeling, hunting, camping, fishing, etc.

Ya, I can see that when the hobbies you enjoy are located in the wilderness areas. I guess I'm luckier than I realize there are fun things (at least for me) that are worth going into the city to see. I enjoy Cardinal Baseball games, our Zoo is world class, Museums, Botanical Gardens, and Planetarium/Science Center are all places I enjoy going to on occasion.

In retrospect, I made a mistake by moving here from the 18,000 person town that was a 10 minute drive to Gulf Coast beach surf fishing and a 5 minute bicycle ride to 2 lane country roads through farm fields. Houston was a 45 minute drive away in the unlikely event I wanted an urban experience.

The proximity to the natural open desert of South Mountain Preserve is what kept me sane all these years. At least I think I’m still sane. ???

Any thoughts about moving back to the Gulf Coast when you retire!

When I moved here from Michigan in '83, coming from a much smaller town, I thought I was going to hate it. I soon learned to like it, and appreciate it, as long as I didn't actually have to live in, or close to downtown St. Louis. Much better cost of living here compared to other larger size metropolitan areas, and a nice place to raise a family. I wouldn't move back to Michigan even if someone told me they'd double my net worth if I did! Way too damn cold and snowy for too many months!

I moved from an area where a 1700 sq ft house on 3 acres went for $120K to an area where a 1500 sq ft house on a 7500 sq ft lot sold for $150K, and people I met were amazed at how “affordable” housing in this area was. So yeah, I would like to move back to a sane area.
