Morning All!

Very tropical yucky out here today! Way too much humidity!! We had those storms come through yesterday afternoon and had them on and off all night. Very very windy and the rain came sideways!! Water was coming in under the door here at work. Knocked over one of my mater plants on the deck at home, 3 of my Hibiscus' and a few geraniums. Found some of my birdfeeders blown far away from where they were hanging. The winds were potent!!! Some of the traffic lights are out on Rt. 91 - that was fun this morning!!

Jamesbo...... where are you???? I miss you when you ain't here, lol!

Clint..... I don't like that snake!! Great picture though! I've heard of bull snakes but never seen one. Are they poisonous??

Wolfie...... ya just can't burn your car, lol!! If you're fed up with it, sell it. You should be able to get a pretty penny out of it.

Citcapp.... Welcome back! Now I'm not complaining about the "hot".... just the humidity!! I love this weather. It's where we should be this time of year. The cicadias or locusts or whatever they are are already out making that strange noise that they make. Usually don't hear them until August. Soooo.... we know our warm time is coming to a close soon. The Rose of Sharon trees are blooming now. They're pretty.

Went out and wiped Teepo down last evening. She was all dusty from the show. I gotta figure out if she needs the wax stripped off of her, or another coat put on - I was using my Meguiars Quick detailer, and I could see on the hood where it was "smeary" like. Like I couldn't rub it off, ya know? She hasn't had a good soapy wash in a long time. Maybe I'm getting a chemical reaction going or something? I don't want to put soapy water on her. I'll have to look on Google and see what I find about stuff like that!

Well you all have a good day and stay cool!!

"The depth of the green is 35 feet, you've been married twice now hit the frigg'in ball"

Which he promptly skulls

No, Sandy, Bull snakes have a real nasty attitude, but they aren't poisonous. I just went out to the tree, The robins are no where to be found but Mr snake is snoozin away one branch over from the bird nest.

Here's one I kicked off the road the other day before it became a greasy spot.

I didn't know snakes would eat birds! I just thought they ate spiders and things like that. I don't like snakes and I don't care what kind they are, lol! Great picture above - caught him just as he's ready to strike, looks like!

Snakes eat mice too. We have a bird house in the backyard and a little family of sparrows were growing up there. Karen told be that there were flies around the house and she could see feathers. So I took off the roof and found a young bird. I guess out of the 4 babies, it was the one that didn't make it. Got it out of there and put the roof back on. Seems like birds are still flying in and out again.

Pretty warm here today. We'll be in the 70's but the humidity is higher (by double) than normal so it feels hotter. Will be in the 90's in the southern part of the province. Had lots of rain and thunderstorms lately. The only real day without the threat of rain was the day of our show and Sunday. Starts off nice, like this morning with a chance of a thunderstorm tonight. They are baking in eastern Canada I hear.

They said on the news last night that most of North America is sweltering. Funny just 6 months ago we were getting cold snaps and tons of snow, so you won't hear me complain about the heat. Karen said she'd take the snow over the heat because you can always put something on to stay warm . Not me, don't have to shovel rain. The only thing...the misquitoes are pretty bad because of all the rain.

Have a good day and stay cool

college

The other morning we were talking at our local coffee shop about colleges. Some of the guys have kids going this fall. One of them said that his daughter GPA was 3.8 and it was just under what she needed to attend her first school of choice. She needed a 4.0. I told them that the only time I had a 4.0 in college was when I took this one test. It was called a breathalyzer. That pretty much was the highlight of college for me.

Hot and muggy wit a chance of showers.

Looks like I'm spose to check in early befo Sandy has a conniption fit.

I'll try to do mo better ChaCha

Albs, If ya eat a whole raw tater, you woulda passed the breathalizer test.

Pat, I'm fraid you might catch P-neumonia fly'in back and forth wit all the temp changes. Iff'in it was me, I'd stay home and play golf. Ain't they got any lectricians in Mississippi?

Scot, De gnats out yet? My daddy was drug up in south Gawga. His folks let him start smok'in cigars when he was 10 to keep de gnats off his face. Many a time, I've been fish'in wit him, sett'in in a john boat star'in at my skint knee covered wit the suckers.

What's de over/under dat Sandy washed Teepo yesterday? I'm suprised the poor cars got any paint left on it.

Ya'll have a loverly "Hump Day"

Morning All!

Jamesbo.... you make me laugh!! I'm a worrier - can't help it, lol! Glad you checked in bright and early!!

No, I didn't wash Teepo yesterday. I wiped her down on Monday night, and quick detailed her. I'm getting like smear marks on the hood when I wipe the detailer - don't know if she needs wax, if there's already too much wax on her ( only waxed her once this spring) or what. But I don't like it!!! So I don't know what to do about that.

Anyone ever use those waterless car washes I've read about?? I don't want to put a hose on her......

It's sticky and yucky again. Don't know how you all in the South put up with the humidity! All the news and radio news are really goin over the top with reporting about the heat!! Makes me crazy! It's July in Ohio - we get this every year. Ain't nothing new, lol!! It's nice that they are setting up "cooling centers" though, for those without AC or fans.

We're supposed to hit 93 today, and 95 tomorrow, but the heat index tomorrow will put us at 108 - 110 degrees they're saying. To me it beats the hell out of hearing "We already have 3 feet of snow on the ground and this cold front is supposed to bring another 6 - 8 inches by noon and continue on into the night. Wind chills in the -20 degree range. We haven't seen the sun in 41 days"......... I'll take this weather any day!

Don't know if I'll take Teepo to the Chick fil A cruise tonight or Bellacino's tomorrow night. Have to see when I leave here tonight. I usually get stuck sitting in traffic on the way to Bellacino's in Stow, and I'd hate for her to overheat!!!!

Steve is off again today - it's nice without him!!! We have a little fun! He's the office manager...... not that he manages anything, lol.

Well you all have a great day and stay cool!

Morning All!

It's a muggy sticky one here today!! Already 79 degrees but the humidity is thick! Our hottest day this summer they're saying. Heat index to get into the 108-110 range. Wish it was a dry heat, lol!

I went to the Chick Fil A cruise in last evening. It was 94 degrees, but a breeze was blowing. Parked kinda in shade so it was nice!! Didn't take any pics. Not a whole lot of cars there. I really hope this cruise takes off. We'll see.

Quiet morning in here. Steve is back, so I can't be on my laptop as much today. Darn!

Jamesbo..... I'm getting lots of little cherry maters now!! I sure love them! I picked a handful of green beans the other night too and cooked them up. They were delicious! I don't know if my plants will get big enough to make lots of beans so I can freeze them like I hoped, but I'm enjoying them. The plants are still growing - lots of new growth on the tops of them. I think this fall after the plants die, I'm gonna work that dirt in the area I have them planted in so it will be good dirt next year. Put some manure and top soil in there with all the clay and make it better. Can't hurt!

Well you all have a wonderful day. Stay cool if you're baking like the rest of us! Still don't know how you southerners handle the humidity..... it sucks!

Jamesbo..... Red looks like he's real energetic this morning, lol!!! He sure is pretty.. I don't need a hat, but thanks for the thought! Adrian brought me a nice red ball cap when he was here. And I'm only going to one show on Saturday (right now anyhow) and there's a chance of Tstorms....

We've had quite a bit of rain here as well. Grass is pretty green. The humidity is high and that's unusual for these parts. I see Montreal and Toronto are going past 100F today and the humidity is always high in the east. Nice yesterday, today with rain tonight and tomorrow. Weekend looks good again. Would like to take in a few car shows this year....but I ain't complaining. In six months from now we'll be bitchin'about the snow. Stay cool everyone.

Yes it is! It is 95F in Ottawa right now and feels like 115F at 6:30pm. First day all summer I wish the Delta had been ordered with A/C. They say today is supposed to be the warmest day and starting tomorrow it should be cooling off a bit, tomorrow is only supposed to be 86F.

Hope everyone is finding a way to stay cool.

You Ontarians are wimps! It's gonna be 103F here in the beautiful Blue Ridge foothills today....

My Blue Bell doesn't have AC either. She stays in the garage where it's a freezing 80F most of this week! Supposed to drop to a chillin' 90F next week....

TGIF... Ya'll have a great one.

Gonna have a few hundred of my "closest friends" up fer a low country boil dis weekend. All of us went to Emory at Oxford befo we went to Big Emory.

The dean usually comes and gives us Emory Cups and plates and blesses us [if we make a donation to de school]

Scot, I dreampt, I went to Perry and got sum home made Peach ice cream from a guy who had his pic on de carton.

Spent 2 hours driv'in round Perry look'in fer a place to buy sum dry ice to get it to the party still solid.

Ya'll have a wonderful Friday

It's funny you mentioned that... During the last invasion of "The entire Spartan cast" upon my house, my father in law was dead set on buying a 2 gallon electric homemade ice cream churn just to leave here at my house for those occasions. And the kicker was how everyone was bragging about my Grandmother's peach ice cream recipe. Now that is pretty ironic, don't cha think?

Yummy I love some low country boil.

Sandy did ya figure out a way for me to send the peaches without spoiling? Hopefully we will learn how.

I hope everyone has a safe weekend and a great Friday!

Aftenoon all!

What a day! My cat was sick last night when I got home - coughing, sneezing yucky stuff, his purring sounded all wet, eye watery, so I called the vet and they couldn't see him until this morning! So I didn't get in to work until 10:00.

Cost me $424 to find out he has an upper respritory infection. Got an antibiotic to give him twice a day. That's always soooo much fun! They also took blood to test for heartworm and to see if he has lukemia, aids, whatever! Sold me 6 tubes of Revolution flea stuff - said the stuff you buy at Wal Mart doesn't work as well. That was $89!!!!! Damn it's been an expensive morning! Had to listen to him yowl all the way there and all the way back, poor guy. He knows when he gets put in the carrier that he's gonna get hurt, lol! He weighs 13 lbs! They're always surprised that he's so healthy for being an outside cat.

It's quiet in here today. Brian is off at his doctor appt. in Columbus. Always takes the whole day off. Ok with me!

It's hot and muggy again. Not going to get as hot, they say. Still in the 90's with heat index around 102. It was a hot one yesterday!! I didn't go to the Stow cruise. We went to DQ and had chicken salads for supper, lol. I'm lovin it though. I remember friggin February!!!!!!

Scot.... haven't had time yet to research shipping!

Gotta go out and lay in my lawn chair now.... ttyl!!

65F here and raining. Yesterday, one of the cities on the Arctic Ocean was 75F. Probably melted all the Eskimo Pie Trees. I know a woman who brought dog to the vet. She said he hadn't moved in days. Doctor checked his heart. Look into his eyes and checked out his ears. He told her that her dog was dead. "Are you sure?" The doctor picked up a cat an threw it on the dog. Nothing. Then he gave her a bill for $500. "$500 to tell me my dogs dead? I thought your examination was only $300?". she said. "Normally," he said. "But it's $200 for the cat scan."

We had dog medical insurance for our pet, but cancelled it after eveything we submitted wasn't elegible except one $25 fee. Hope your cat's better soon.
