It's 74° right now at 4:30pm, supposed to be low 80's tomorrow. Got another cold front coming in tomorrow evening though, and another threat of severe weather as the two fronts collide.
Haven't done much today other than adding our new credit card number to some auto-pay sites, and working out. I was looking online for the best place to by lawn fertilizer with both broadleaf and crabgrass preventer and everyplace seems to be either out of stock, or their price is thru the roof! Tariffs, I don't know, but pretty crazy prices compared to last year!
Daughter and crew came back from South Bend thru Indianapolis yesterday afternoon and stopped at the Indy 500 museum and enjoyed it. I've never been there.
Just saw where the Super Bowl MVP, running back Kenneth Walker (Seattle), will be signing a free agency deal with the KC Chiefs! That will be a great boost for the Chiefs! 👍
Pine & Oak pollen are definitely bothersome for me. Near daily low grade headache, sniffles, some nasal drainage & lethargy for a couple weeks - a daily annoyance. Perennial Ragweed on the other hand knocks me on my A$$ & will take me to my knees if I'm w/in 50' of the stuff. Completely full blown allergic rhinitis (hay fever) response, severe watery red eyes, eyeballs inflamed, nasal discharge from a fire hose, sneezing every 15 seconds or less. Best described as a violent systemic event - my face turns completely flush. Total disaster until I remove myself from the area. The misery is so bad I could fight a Western Diamondback.
Mom started giving me Allerest when I was quite young to ward off the attacks when they occurred. The Allerest antihistamine (Chlorpheniramine) definitely stopped the symptoms & I took it for years until I realized the symptoms of Chlorpheniramine. I don't recall at what age I first began having the allergy attacks & I don't recall at what age I began taking Allerest, but at some point I just couldn't take it any longer - it would simply knock me out cold turkey - like taking a sedative. It's a First Generation antihistamine, 1st Gen. antihistimines are sedatives. These days I use Flonase (corticosteroid) nasal spray which helps significantly.

Thanks Norm! Besides the stop at the Indy 500 museum on the way home, they made sure they saw the Golden Dome and Touchdown Jesus on campus. They also found out there was a large Dinosaur museum there which Keegan just loved!

The past two nights I watched & finished watching The Dinosaurs (Netflix). Pretty well done. Excellent CGI. Dan Tapster wrote the documentary & has done several other documentaries I've enjoyed - he began his career working w/ David Attenborough, I believe. Morgan Freeman narrates The Dinosaurs - I've always enjoyed Morgan's acting and narrating.

With a background in microbiology & mycology the evolution of cheeses has always piqued my interests; and, there aren't many products you can purchase in stores which are made from unpasteurized French sheep milk riddled with Penicillin (Penicillium roqueforti).

Good start to the morning. My wall guy stays later than I do and he had several wheels ready to go this morning. The lead is back so people have decided to do work.
I've been to the Indianapolis 500 museum one time. Without looking it up, it was right after the race that had the Cadillac Allante as the pace car. I know this because the Allante was on display. Beautiful car, if not a disaster otherwise.

Thunderstorm last night woke me up around 1130 last night. Tiger seemed frustrated but not overly agitated. We went outside and it wasn't raining too hard, then that was it for the rest of the night. The storm must have stopped right after.
Okay I looked it up, I was at the museum in 1992. The car was actually a 93 model. Not sure quite how but I guess Cadillac can do whatever they want. Also Morgan Freeman was indeed on The Electric Company.

Norm - Sounds like you were getting info/stories from some of the major experts in the field. Pretty cool! When I started Undergrad at Albion College, a new Professor of Anthropology came in by the name of Dr. Elizabeth Brumfiel. I took an Into to Anthropology class from her, and I was hooked, she was brilliant and really had a gift for relating to students. So much so for me that I ended up making Anthropology a part of my double Major along with Geology. Dr. Brumfiel went on to teach at Albion for about 25-years, then moved on to Northwestern, became the President of the American Anthropological Society, and the Curator of "The Aztec World" exhibit at "The Field Museum" in Chicago. She tried to recruit me several times to go on "digs" with her team at various sites she was working in Mexico, but I had to politely decline because I needed to work my summer job at Kelloggs to pay for my College tuition. I always wished I could have afforded to go!

I had an elective in high school for half of a semester in Anthropology, and I loved it. There were no more classes offered. I did have a couple of college offers, Michigan State, and CMU, but I did not pursue them. Too naive and no direction. I wish that I had more sense back then. Oh well.
I sure might have! Funny thing is I never really ended up using my Geology degrees (BS/MS) either! Life throws ya a ****-ton of curve ***** that's for damn sure. If I had to do it all again I really don't think I'd do it different. I had a great career doing something I enjoyed the vast majority of the 35-years I had with NGA.

I agree with you Dan, Anthropology is extremely interesting, with so many different sub-disciplines. It's a shame that you didn't get any better advice/direction at that age. None of us had any sense at that age, I know I sure didn't. My parents however did, and they wielded a large hammer!
It's cloudy out here now, but was sunny earlier. Might have set a record today, it's 84° here now at 3:15. We've got the A/C on here. I'm just hoping the really severe weather goes north of us later tonight.
Turned out to be a pretty busy day. I wanted to get some yard stuff done with the nice weather. Went to Walmart at around 10am to pick up some triple action fertilizer/broad leaf/crabgrass. They didn't have any fertilizer with crabgrass prevention in stock at all. Went a couple blocks away to Lowe's and paid about $15 more for the same 40lb bag if Walmart would have had it. I didn't give a crap, and went ahead and paid it just to have it.
Came home and went out to fix the pop-up sprinkler head that I decapitated with the mower late last fall. I had ordered one then, and never got around to it before Winter hit. Wasn't a big deal since the ground was still soft after all the rain we've had. Got it installed and tested, good to go. Then I went out to put my fertilizer down and got that all done. Should be good now for the crabgrass prevention window here.
Today was supposed to be a cardio workout day for me, but I'm skipping it because I'm pooped out! I'll shoot for doubling up on workouts tomorrow to get back on schedule???

Jim - Is this a new shed which is replacing an old shed in the same location or a completely new shed & you'll watch the current 60 yr. old shed rot to the ground?
Two summers in college I worked on a concrete crew. Likely the most physically demanding job I've ever had. I like to watch "others" grade, set forms, tie wire, pour & remove forms - far more enjoyable.
Both trailers ( dump and water) have Solar battery
charging. ( need sun) can't store in new shed.When the work is finished, I'm going to pull the front out enough for the solar panels to work
The rain started here around midnight, with the worst of it coming thru between 1am to 3am with heavy rain, lightnings/thunder, and strong winds. I never heard anything that sounded like hail. Rain continued steady until about 6am. This event was not as strong as the last one we had a couple weeks ago which I was thankful for.
We go to get our taxes done today at 4pm. Ours are not that complicated, although the Missouri forms are unbelievably convoluted and a PIA, so it's worth it to me to have them done.
Welcome to St, Louis weather. Sunny and a high of 85°F yesterday. Right now rain and 54°F, with temps continuing to drop all day and thru the night tonight, headed towards a morning low of 30°F! 🤪
