dialysis rant Devita is the BIGGEST CYA in the entire world . In a year and a half I have been "asked " read forced" to sign a paper saying I know where the exits are in case of a fire 3 frigging times. Anyway there is a Devita doctor who shows up once a month to let you know the results of your monthly blood work. She has told me flat out that kidneys NEVER improve so [ in her way to thinking I am doomed to be on dialysis until I take a dirt nap [ transplant is out of the question]
My personal doctor disagrees and has me on a strict regiment of diet and somewhat unigue supplements that she says will cause "some kidney recovery" Soooooooooooooooooooooooo last Frifay she said why not lower the chair time by 30 minutes for a month and let's see where we are lab wise. **** hit the fan. The tech says I may get throw out of the program for non compliance. The manager says I may have my time increased fro m2.5 hours to ha3 . And all I say is I would like to speak to the doctor. I think before I am punished I have the right o speak to the doctor. Impossible dr is in the hospital So I ax, How can you speak to her and I can't ? Ok have her call me. So crickets for a day and a half and no call
Soi now, I am FORCED to ignore the doctor I can get on the phone is 2 minutes and follow the **** dr who refuses to speak to me or Get kicked out of dialysis
. . .

Beautiful out but cool. Gonna be 70 today. Not much getting done today, because we went to Denny's for breakfast(Mom's favorite) and ran a couple errands. Now I need to call my mortgage holder because I never got the tax stuff I need.
Jamesbo I didn't know dialysis was a privilege. Can you go somewhere else? This doesn't sound like the usual stellar Emory treatment.
Norm John was gone before you got here. I know he sneaks onto the forum every once in a while but he doesn't post. He's in New Orleans area(da swamp) and also spends time in the North Georgia Mountains(da hills).
So I'm gonna continue to chainsaw some things in a pile I've been adding to for years. When the pile is gone the area gets cleaned up and grass planted and it becomes part of the yard. Trouble is I have about 800 pounds of pine needles and small branches I need to burn, and no place to burn them. Burn season is up April 30. Probably more than 800. I need dirt in that area anyway can I just spread a load or two of dirt over the pine needles and call it a day? Will grass grow with the soil that acidic?
Last day of 5 off. It's been wonderful. I've always wanted to do my own thing but never had any good ideas, or ideas I could afford. If I did that tomorrow it would take 20 years to get a stronghold. I'm within 20 years of retiring now. I'm within 10 years. By and large it's been a good run with Big D. At the end of the day no real complaints.
Okay gotta get these few things done then head over to cut wood. Hope everyone has a good day.
Hopefully you wake up.to another UofM National Championship
! I did! Saw it at 5:45am. Thanks, Norm. I just made a follow up appt. on 4/14 per my Doctors response to my email today. I am noting what bothers me after eating and/or drinking. All of the good stuff of course. Damn Jim, sorry to see you go through so much B.S.
FYI to any of you guys that might be interested in College Hockey. The NCAA Frozen Four (Tournament) Semifinal games are this Thursday the 9th at 5pm and 8:30pm, and the Championship game is Saturday. I believe all the games are on ESPN2, but the Championship game may be on ESPN?
Here we are back to work. It was a wonderful 5 days off, but now it feels like I never left. My desk wasn't in too bad of shape, though whoever sat here changed some things around that needed to be put back.
I'm gonna cut that tree down after work. Or at least start the process. It has this pronounced bend to it and now that I've noticed it the bend gets bigger every day. Well probably not but I think that it does. So it's gotta go.
Gonna be nice today. No rain to be seen, I like that. I think the yellow pollen is pretty much done as well. And now back to our regularly scheduled spring.
Well, then your as sick as I am. I've seen this one before, still funny. For some reason I no longer get notifications from this site in my email, for threads that I am following.

Dan - As Norm often points out, there's alot of weird crap going on with the site. Today when I clicked on a thread it wouldn't take me to the end of the thread, only to the beginning? Just weird!
Good start to the morning. Would one say a flurry of activity? Who knows, we're busy. Hope it keeps up.
Chris is there a setting to automatically go to the end of the thread when you click on one? Mine always goes to the beginning, no matter how many pages or if I've seen it before. I look at a Chrysler A Body forum, and clicking on a thread takes you to the first unread message. I'd love for that to be the case here.
So I'm all ready to cut that tree down. Got everything moved yesterday but then couldn't find my file or my bar oil. It was getting close to clean up time anyway so I got cleaned up and headed over to Mom's. I think those things are over there anyway I'll look today when I'm out in the yard.
Okay someone brought donuts. Hope everyone has a good day.
--Mornin' guys. I have noticed when I click on a thread here on CO on the clubhouse area it takes me to the last unread (for me) thread. If I open " the new good morning thread " off the main opening screen, it will go to the beginning. If I want to see what a thread is about I can hover over the title and see a little more of 1st line.. CO seems to be the same as FTE (Ford Truck Enthusiasts ), But on The HAMB I can't hover over title, it won't work, but if I click on thread it will go to last unread.
--Man it seems to not be warming up around here. I think i told you about the rider mowers I got fixed up last year -August. (It was too late in the mowing season and no one replied to my FB Marketplace ads-). Well I had 4 of them- I have sold 2 in last 2 weeks. 3rd one is on there now. And getting lots of replies- FB Market place really is amazing- but a bunch of Bozo's out there for sure...
--Oh Hey, Did you guys see them wreak a 72 Vista Cruiser on the TV show "High Potential"? Yep rammed it right into another car- busted up grille and hood, fenders, etc- Dumbasses!! Why ruin a neat 50 year old car- use a 20 yr old junker.. O well..

Mike/Greg - I don't know what this site is "suppossed to do"? All I know is that since I joined when I would click on a hotlink to a thread it would take me to the last post in the thread. Yesterday when I would click on the hotlink to the "What have you done to your Olds today?" thread it took me to the 1st post in the thread. That's the first time I had experienced that?

Greg - Great to hear you sold 2 of the mowers, that's great! 👍
Developers and/or Admins to this site have absolutely zero, nada, zilch interest in forum/member functionality. It isn't even a developer's testing site, I have now concluded it's nothing more than a sandbox. A sandbox has no controlled parameters, no accountability, no protocols for anyone to follow - nothing more than a sandbox/playground with ZERO established rules/protocols. Look, I created two stickies demonstrating to others how to post images, etc. Developers/Admins on this site don't give a flying "F" about what anyone is doing except:
(1) Using a naughty word some whack job created when he was jerking off at home creating the list of naughty words;
(2) Monitoring threads/posts which don't fit a particular Moderator's view point:
(3) Allowing members to bash other members and get away w/ derogatory/demeaning assaults to others.
It's pretty much outlived its usefulness for me. Lots, and lots and lots and lots of very condescending rude dolts on here. Time to take my time elsewhere.

There are certain members and certain thread in which I do not engage. I would recommend this course of action, Norm.

Norm, not that you should have to, but I hope you can find a way to just ignore the ********* and continue to engage with those folks who appreciate your participation and contributions, like me!
Ah, Friday. We have two mechanics signing and probably less than 10 doing all the work. But hey, let's have all the 10 hour shift guys have the same day off.
I didn't see the Vista Cruiser crunched on that show but it reminds me of this one.
Astute movie-goers would have noticed that Mr. Griswald drove up in a 70 but the car they crushed was a 72.
Ready for the tree today. Found the bar oil and file, everything is moved, all that's left is to let'r rip.
So tomorrow at the outlet mall there's this event called Touch A Truck. I knew a guy that used to go to it, it's people with all sorts of trucks go to this show and mostly kids are there and get to see them and touch them and probably crawl all over them. Sounds cool but I wouldn't let anyone crawl over anything of mine. I might go just to see some trucks. I'll refrain on the face painting. Maybe they'll have ice cream.
Okay break is over. We have two wall guys and lots of wheels. They are doing a great job. I like to have 10 wheels done by break and right now I'm at 16. Not bad at all. Have a good weekend everyone.
Mike - Hope you have a great rest of your workday and enjoy the truck show if you go. Be careful bringing the tree down! Hope you have a great weekend!
Well, no chance of a 2nd Univ. of Michigan National Championship now as the Men's Hockey team lost to Denver in their Semi-Final game last night. What a great game though. The game went to Double Overtime and was the most exciting game I've seen in awhile.
I've got my car ready for the cruise-in and show season now. If you haven't seen my posts on the "What have you done to your Olds today?" thread the last 2-days, I've spent the last couple days doing a complete cleaning/detailing job on it. The large monthly cruise-in at the huge church in Fenton is suppossed to be this afternoon/evening, but there's supposed to be a pretty high chance of afternoon showers. There's also supposed to be a small show downtown in my town of Pevely tomorrow, but Gabe has a hockey game tomorrow at 12:45pm that I'm not going to miss.
It's already time to mow again today, but if we get the rain they're calling for around noon that may have to be pushed until tomorrow after the hockey game. Plenty of stuff to keep me busy though.
Hope everyone has a great day and weekend!
Ready to Rock and Roll in 2026!

Chris what is the mat the car is on? Looks like that coin pattern we have in the airplane. Or is it diamond plate pattern? I think he'd be more comfortable on carpeting.

Mike - It's a diamond plate patterned, specially formulated vinyl mat to resist automotive fluids. It serves 2 purposes. It keeps me from worrying about leaks on the concrete and significantly reduces moisture (humidity) coming up thru the concrete under the car. I've had it since shortly after I bought the car in 2019 and it's holding up very well.
Watched Artemis re-entry & splashdown. Spent one hour at the driving range. Ate lunch @ club. Bought three styles of new golf shaft grips this morning. Re-gripped four thus far (63° LW, 56° SW, PW & 9-Iron).
Guys, my head is in a funk - It happens. I should just shut up sometimes.
My attempt to mow today was squashed by a hard rain shower this morning and cloudy skies that kept the yard from drying out. I'll shoot for doing that tomorrow afternoon after Gabe's hockey game.
This morning I did my lifting workout, then doubled up doing my cardio workout in the afternoon because I had skipped it yesterday because I was tired from working on my car.
While I was doing my lifting workout I got a text from my daughter saying Keegan had a roller hockey game tonight at 5:45. She didn't mention anything special about the game. I replied to her I/we would try and be there if I got accomplished what I wanted to today. Well I did and Dawn and I both went. When we got there we would find out it was their League Championship game. Keegan played great in a 4-3 win. Boy was I glad we both went and saw it!

--Watching the Artimus return sure brought back memories. I remember watching take offs and landings in the classroom at school- what a treat!
--Ok , there was a thread awhile ago about how a guy now-a-days has to take his Subaru or Kia or something into the dealer to get brakes changed- couldn't do it himself... I found out yesterday that is the case with my 2019 GMC Acadia. It uses a electric motor and threads to set the parking brake- which clamps the brakes on when car is left in "park", You are sposta have the computer hook up so you can put park brake in " service mode" and it retracts the pads. I dove into the brake job full speed ahead 'cuz I had looked on you tube and thought everything was as a normal rear brake job- wrong!! Tried to retract the pads w/ a C-Clamp and no go. Went on youtube again and looked further. Found a reel where someone "explained" how to put car into service mode- couldn't get that to work. So ended up removing the small motor off caliper and using a flatblade screwdriver and turned the actuator back in. Worked! But I decided to learn how to do it "correctly" on other side...went online that night, nope couldn't figure it out. So I did right side same as left-(taking off actuator). Well all done now- why things so complicated??? Old type park pawl worked just fine for years - and so simple. I am doing 100,000 mile service at 108,000- plugs- brakes and wheel bearings- filters etc. Sure reminds me I am almost 70- getting up and down is harder than it usta bee!

Norm - Glad you didn't stray too far. You are a valuable member to this group. You're knowledgeable and always willing to help someone out and you do it with patience even when you've already shared it before. Personally I love following along on your adventures with auto repairs, home projects, sports, cooking and anything else you share. You're a great guy and it's too bad you were made to feel like you wanted to quit.
Thanks for all you do.
I hope you have a great day.
John - Professional golfers w/o question bespoke their grips, their shafts, lengths of their shafts, type(s) of their shaft(s) e.g. fiberglass/stainless steel, regular/stiff/flex, etc. (all 14) & club weight(s). Amateur golfers who compete against other amateur golfers in the amateur golfer circuit(s) bespoke same qualities. Recreational (amateur) golfers it's hit-or-miss, toss of the coin. I play w/ many who are clueless on any of the aforementioned - grips, shafts, lengths, weights, etc. These golfers usually do not bespoke any of their clubs. And, when it's time to replace grips, recreational golfers will have a facility replace their grips for them.
I just finished replacing the grips on all my clubs except my driver & 3-wood. I must have had a brain fart when I was considering the number of grips I needed. I'll grab a couple/several more later today or tomorrow. First, I'd like to get to the driving range for an hour or so.
Chris, when the kid has to struggle to hold up the damn trophy, he's doing all right. I've always like hockey's big trophy style.
John - I was equally impressed with that trophy! Looks kind of like a Stanley Cup replica? I'm not sure if that's a traveling trophy, the team gets to keep it, or if it resides at the rink with the year/team's name engraved on it. I'll have to ask that question today when I see them later.
