Good morning everyone.

Work started good, after a long ride in. The traffic report neglected to warn me of the expressway being shut down completely, and after sitting at a near stand still for about 30 minutes everyone exited and picked our way through town to get back to the expressway further up. Still made it to work on time, others behind me didn't.

Don my Walmart day is Sunday. We go in the morning so the church people aren't there yet. Mom has the handicapped parking thing but we rarely get to park up front. Those spots are reserved for people who park there illegally, or people who aren't handicapped and are using someone else's car. If that's the case I drop Mom up front and park in the back.

Chris will you be sad if your SIL doesn't maintain the bike as well as you? Does he have other buddies to ride with or just wants a bike to ride whenever? I probably mentioned before I had a big Harley for awhile and rode with a couple friends. After I didn't see those guys anymore the bike just sat in the garage. I didn't enjoy riding by myself.

Jamesbo before I saw the answer to your riddle I was thinking a horny horse.

Norm can you relocate that sensor for the next time it goes out? Is your truck a dually? After you finish the porch go find you an old Chevy and build it to do what you want, but not with all that electronic nonsense.

Dan that sucks, your healthcare has almost doubled. We've been lucky the company does a fairly good job at keeping our costs down. Although when the costs don't go up, our coverage goes down, or our copays go up.

Getting time for lunch. I'm running out of shows to watch on Youtube while I eat. They all need a subscription or you have to pay to see them. Eh, I'll just listen to 80s music.

Okay have a good day everyone.

Mike - I watched a portion (not long) of a video some novel grease monkey put together attempting to do just that. I was not overly impressed & it didn't look like he was terribly pleased w/ his butchery. I'll make no attempts at relocating the scornful device.
My truck is not a dually.
I don't like Chevy anything. I thought the T.V. show Bonanza had some cool Chevrolet commercials back in the day. Are you old enough to remember Bonanza?

Honestly Mike, yes if he buys it I will probably be a little disappointed if he doesn't maintain it to the level I have, but more importantly I want it gone. I do remember you telling us about your Harley and why you stopped riding it. As for my SIL, I'm not sure if he has buddies with bikes or not? His Dad is retiring soon and I suggested yesterday his Dad ought to buy my Indian and they could ride together. The thing I'm most distraught about with this whole bike situation is that my declining health is dictating it. I'm probably going to have to go back to an orthopedic surgeon again soon for an exam and consult for my hips. The guy that did the exam and advised me on my bad shoulder last October was good, but he doesn't do hip surgeries. I'm going to have to find someone else.

Norm I watched Bonanza in reruns only. Was never a big fan. Mom watched Bonanza because she liked the horses.

Chris I hate that you're feeling the effects of aging. I just deny everything. If you're having hip trouble and you go ahead with a replacement, I guarantee you won't regret it. Maybe you could resume riding after a procedure. Otherwise take the high road, know that you enjoyed your time riding and look forward to a new chapter. I got just the thing.

Mike - Thanks, I appreciate your compassion. What I need to do is just stop whining and deal with it, lots of folks alot worse off than I am. Even if I get the hip replacements, there will be no going back to riding at this point. Dawn wanted me to quit anyway because there seems to be more and more fatal motorcycle accidents around here all the time. That Superbird would sure help me get over it in a hurry! I don't remember if I ever said this, but the Superbirds are my favorite car of all time! In general I don't like clones or tribute cars, but I'd drive a Superbird clone if it was well done and looked close to an original. Who am I kidding, I probably couldn't even afford a well done clone, let alone an original!

Really giving my stomach the ultimate shakedown cruise tonight. A big 'ol Steak, White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, and Peas. No Omeprazole with the meal. It's been over an hour now since I ate and not even a hint of a belly ache! 👍 Man I never thought a Steak could taste that good, Dawn broiled it to perfection!

Hello. Dealing with stuff. Had a 2 day appleseed full distance this past weekend. Lot of work and some bad weather dinged it a bit. Going to see family this weekend.

Chris, you need a Hurst/Olds.

So, I drove to work yesterday and saw a small fishing boat on a trailer in front of a parsonage of a church. Today, it had a price, 500 bucks. I took some pics. Went and grabbed 500 bucks, couldn't find my 1 7/8 ball receiver hitch. Went to work. Called the number after work and it was still available. Dashed up to Menards and got a receiver insert and a 1 7/8 ball. Hand assembled that thing and went to work. I SHOULD have borrowed a large wrench in store to assemble it, duh.

Made my appointment. Boat sold by retiring pastor of church. Appears to be a 12 foot jon boat with v nose, one fixed leak, minor transom damage. Good trailer, old tires. Lights and hitch and chains work. 3 clamp on fishing seats, some extra hardware. Trolling motor, which does work well. 1 paddle. One trailer tongue dolly. Thought that was pretty good for 500 bucks. Title for trailer, bill of sale for boat.

Towed it the three miles home without issue. Lights work. Ball did not fall off.

Yes, I'd love to have a '68 or '69 H/O if I could find a nice one I could afford, but that's a pretty big if? I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but even IF I get the bikes sold, I don't have my heart set on any given Year/Make/Model right now for a 2nd classic car. I'll be leaning towards another Olds if the right one came along, and there are 3 or 4 Mopar models I love. Another car I've always loved the looks of are the Shelby Cobra Roadsters. I'd at least love to test drive one to see how much fun they are to drive. I'd even consider a replica if it was set up nicely. We'll see, it's a ways down the trail yet.

John - That's a nice fishing skiff. Trailer dolly come w/ it? I carry three trailer hitch ball sizes (1-7/8", 2", 2-5/16"), three ball mount hitches of various drop-down lengths, three various trailer lighting plugs & two long handle (15.5" length) trailer ball box-end wrenches w/ 1-7/8" & 1-1/2". You never know what you're going to need on the road.

Good morning everyone.

Chilly this morning. I may have to dig out a jacket. I'd make a good bear. The weather gets cold I'd hibernate.

John that's a nice boat you got there. I didn't know you had any water around you.

Chris have your buddy hook you up with a Valiant. It's a light car, you could get one with a 273 V8 and it would be fun as hell zipping around. And as you know, you'd be the only one at most shows.

I was telling my wall guy about the Deuce and a half. I said I don't drive it because the tires are cupped and going over 30 the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. Heck they might just be low on air I've never checked them. I need to find a truck shop or someplace that can swap wheels around, if the fronts are cupped I can put them on the back and have others moved up front. How fun would it be to drive that guy around again. Hm, hey Chris... You wouldn't need to do your workout, the M35 in standard form is sans power steering.

Okay got some wheels to do. We aren't breaking any speed records but things are steady. Should be a good day. Hope everyone is well.

Hey guys - Just got back from Walmart. Needed Water Softner Salt, Oil and Filter for the Hyundai SUV, and Diet Mtn. Dew. Planning on changing the oil in the Hyundai tomorrow.

No big plans for today. Hope everyone has a great day! 😃

I'll take your 33% and lower it 3%. Just glanced at my weather station and the outdoor sensor is registering 30% humidity at 2:21pm.

John - I thought you had a couple small lakes on your new property. Are they small enough to essentially fish all the way around them? Do they have fish in them, and if so, do you know what types? Just curious?

I wanted to learn how to karyotype chromosomes. My roommate (Bill) performed all sorts of karyotyping while studying/researching his PhD. - University of Illness (I meant Illinois), Urbana-Champaign, IL. To increase mitotic division (mitosis) we inject (subcutaneous) rabbits (or other critters) w/ basic yeast extract. This increases the number of actively dividing mitotic cells. Increasing the number of actively dividing mitotic cells increases the likelihood of finding more chromosomes to karyotype. Sometimes, the lab personnel (who manage all the laboratory critters for the Genetics Dep't) injected more bunnies than we could use/need. So, Bill & I would grab a couple bunnies, skin & gut 'em, grab some tators, a couple cans of green beans from the store, a couple six-packs, take our Little Joe Weber grille & head out to this lake (Univ of Illness property), unhook a wooden skiff just like John purchased (we didn't have to rent the boat because we were "borrowing" it for the evening after they all went home) & paddle into the middle of the lake w/ our fishing poles. We'd catch lots of sunfish & crappies (~30 - 40 longear sunfish, bluegill, green sunfish & crappies) for a couple hours while we cooked bunny rabbits on the Little Joe Weber as the sun set to the West.

The (warrantied) Andersen storm door has the internal (hidden) roll up/down screen. I have three of them now - the original damaged (warrantied) door, the 1st warrantied door they sent to me which was cut incorrectly & now the final storm door. I have to transfer the outer molding material from the old door to the new door for installation. They only send me the storm door "panel" - I have to transfer the lock set & trim molding from the original door. Looking forward to installing the door after waiting nearly three to four months.

BTW, I purchased the front entrance door from Argentia twelve years ago. The door is solid Mahogany - I had to finish the door. I paid $500 for the door, $250 shipping. If you can find one, a new finished solid Mahogany door will cost $3,000. The Andersen storm door is a good investment to safeguard/protect the Mahogany door from the elements. The biggest concern is warping - you can always refinish a door.

Chris - Thanks. And, the platform/structural foundation is absolutely rock solid. It's like walking on concrete. It really paid off to rebuild the framing.

Now that I'm back to eating real food, Dawn has started cooking meals for both of us again. I say cooking, but tonight was really more like just warming, but still super delicious. Stouffer's Lasagna (which I love as much as any homemade) and garlic toast. Yummy!!!

Chris - Your 30% humidity is crazy nuts. The tips of my fingers would have cracks the size of fissures. Stouffer's makes an excellent lasagna - I like all of their lasagna selections. That garlic toast looks awesome.

Norm - The lowest the humidity got this afternoon was 27% per my weather station. It's starting to inch back up now at 28% with the sun starting to set. We agree, that's crazy low for here! The Lasagna and garlic toast were both excellent!

--For about 6 months or so Wifey has been getting "water" in her right ear- as if you had gotten it in there while swimming. Went to ear, nose and throat doctor and the dr. decided to put in a drain tube. Tube install was started and dr. immediately stopped. She said the liquid that came out of ear appeared to be "Brain fluid". So the fluid was sent off and it was indeed. Next a "stat" cat scan of head was scheduled, then back to E,N,T Doctor for eval. Yep sure enough wife has a opening in brain cavity which is leaking into ear!! This is serious cuz the brain/spinal fluid is completely sterile, whereas the ear is open and has bacteria, (ear bugs- they said) in it- so a person can get spinal meningitis if the fluid gets contaminated....
-- So we got surgery scheduled and went to Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Mi for surgery. It's called Transmastoid repair of CSF leak. She spent 3 nights in Hosp and I at a nearby Holiday Inn. All is good now, we are both back home, but she needs to get left side done in a couple months- it isn't leaking but could start. It's amazing all the things you take for granted in your body, until something is wrong with it!!

Greg - Wow. First time I've heard of a Transmastoid repair for a CSF leak. It's amazing the types of surgeries they perform. You said all is good now. I hope everything remains good. Best of luck to your Wifey & a speedy recovery.

Good morning everyone.

Greg that's a new one on me. I'm glad things turned out alright and prayers the other side does too.

Norm the porch looks awesome. I prefer the look of natural wood over painted. The door looks nice as well. Solid mahogany must be pretty heavy. How much fun would it be if a salesman got a little too close and you slammed that heavy door on his nose.

Chris you'll never know what you're missing. That's okay, more Valiants for me! You wouldn't necessarily have to get a Road Toad.

I much prefer Mom's lasagna but sometimes she gets that very one from the store, it's really very good. She says it's good enough to not make hers but she will just for me.

Supposed to be nice Saturday so outside chores. Rain Sunday so inside chores. No overtime so I get three off. My plan is to get a lot done. We'll see.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.
