Dan your car is beautiful. I don't know why I thought it was white. I also thought it was an SX. Silly me.
Chris that's wonderful news about Dawn. I know she's thrilled as well. Hope the boys have some good games.
Well I didn't get a whole lot done today, but I did get the computer taken out of the SRX and shipped off to a place. They will "clone" the information from it onto a refurbished computer and send it to me. All I have to do is install it and I'm good to go. Buying the computer and shipping it FedEx(with my discount) the whole deal cost 185. If it actually does the trick I'll be happy.
More to do tomorrow than hours in the day. Included in that is Awful house. We'll see how it all shakes out.
Mike - Hopefully, the SRX computer swap goes smoothly. I sent my 2003 Ford F250 diesel tractor instrument cluster panel ($230) to Circuit Medics for a solder re-flow worked like a champ. I also did same w/ the FICM (Fuel Injection Control Module) on the truck (to a different company) worked like a champ.
Going to cut & install some porch planks this morning. Have to pick up the boom/lift between 12:00 noon - 1:00 pm.
Guys, thanks for compliments on the car. Mike, I had originally set out to get an SX, and had mentioned it most likely in my comments last year. I did make an offer on one on Texas last year, but it went nowhere. Of course after I bought this car, SX's seemed to pop up all over. Went out with friends last night, for a casual bite. I had a club sandwich, which was damn good, and about 4" thick. I was thinking that Chris would mow through it in a heartbeat!

Thanks Mike, we're both ecstatic! I hope the place you sent the SRX computer to does a great job for you!
Our little guy Keegan didn't end up playing this morning at 7am. I got a call from my daughter last night letting me know he wouldn't be playing. He's been having some anger management issues lately that we believe are tied to bullying from some older kids on the School bus (separate story). Unfortunately his anger management issues have carried over onto the hockey ice and Mom is making him take a break from hockey until he can get his anger under control. I think she is making a wise choice!

Dan - The Club Sandwich sure sounds good! Sure wish I could "mow through" one! LoL I'm still being very careful about what, and how much I eat. I'm doing well, but I am still afraid of taking any steps backward at this point. I'm going to have to start slowly expanding my choices into a more regular menu at some point though.
Lots of changes to our plans for today already. As I already mentioned to Mike above, younger grandson Keegan is being held out of hockey for awhile so I didn’t go to his game this morning. I was going to go with Dawn to a grandson's (Dawn's daughter's, boyfriend's boy, Jackson) b-day party and be back in time to get to Gabe's game this evening. However, it was already storming bad (lightning/thunder) by 10:30 this morning and Monty was already into his usual meltdown around the time to leave. Dawn asked if I'd mind staying home to keep an eye on him and comfort him. I really didn't mind to stay home, I get to watch the college football games. I'm still planning on making it to Gabe's game this evening unless it just gets crazy bad outside.
Chris - Think you should test the waters. Chorizo chilli + habaneros.
I'm pretty sure that combo would be one toke over the line Norm! No thanks!
On a separate crappy note, the internet just went out here, so no football, just a psychotic scared dog, with lightning/thunder still booming all around. To add another layer, I still haven't heard from Dawn that she has gotten safely to her destination, I hate to call if she's still out in it. This sucks!
Beautiful here and I haven't gotten much done. I did change the oil in the car before I went to Awful house. AH is always good for a couple hours. The odd people really seem to enjoy my company so I make sure I show up.
Chris that's almost funny that anger is keeping Keegan from playing hockey. The old adage "I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out" comes to mind. Bullying is certainly not funny. Why don't you ride the bus with him and kick those little punks' asses. Then go to their parents' house and kick their asses. I hate that Keegan is missing out on something he likes because of someone else.
Gotta go find a couple wheels for my neighbor so he can take good wheels off his car for a trip to the body shop. He thinks his good wheels will grow wings and wants crappy wheels just as rollers. I think I have some he can use. Then I don't know what. Something outside because it's nice.

Hey Mike - For a little more context, this bullying on the School Bus has been going on since last year. My daughter was in last year to see the Principal of Keegan's School and the School Superintendent about the issue. The Bus drivers were supposed to institute a system of semi-assigned seating with the older kids in the rear of the bus, and the younger ones in the front to keep the older ones away from the younger ones, and also so the driver could be closer to the younger ones to see what was going on. From what I've heard, this system isn't being enforced. I don't have to worry about having to kick anyone's asses, my daughter will do that. She's like a mother bear with her cubs when it comes to her kids, she's fierce, and will raise holy hell to get the situation under control. I do feel somewhat bad for Keegan, but he also has to learn to keep his misplaced anger in check and not take it out on others, and that is why he's being forced to take a break from hockey. Trust me, he has a short fuse right now, and it needs to be dealt with and learn that it's not ok to behave in the way that he is.
Stand up day. I have ~1/2 of the porch planks laid. Picked up the boom/lift ~12:00 noon, parked on side of rode & ate big cheeseburger (tray), one hot dog & double onion rings from Cook Out on way home. Hoisted myself up to the chimneys applied roofing cement around the flashing on both chimneys. I have the boom/lift parked & auto-leveled to tackle a nose bleed limb right out of the gate tomorrow morning sometime.

Sounds like a damn fine day Norm! 👍
Raining like a SOB here (pics), got a new branch of the Mississippi running behind me! Internet still down with no updates on when it might be restored, but thankful for mobile data on my phone! Got a big line of storms that will be tracking right over us for several more hours. Ugh!
I watched that squall line pass by you five minutes ago. How'd you make out?
Norm - I'm assuming we're OK, I didn't get a call from Dawn. I'm still at Gabe's game waiting for him to come out of the lockerroom to congratulate him. He had 4 goals in a 7-4 win! 👍
That's great Gabe had a good game. That's over half the goals of the game. Talented fella. You're absolutely right Chris, no matter what is going on with us, we need to conduct ourselves as decent human beings. It's easy to deduce that if a 6 year old is being bullied, he'll think it's okay for him to bully someone else. Seven?
Here's a bizarre story about my mom rearing up to come to my defense. When I was a senior in high school I worked at Shaver Chevrolet. I washed the cars when people bought them, and also retrieved the cars from service when someone would pick one up. The GM of the place was a total douche bag and I was sort of reserved and shy, not like I am now. He'd go out of his way to say something dickish to me because he knew I'd get upset and he thought that was funny. One day he ran up to me with a set of keys to a diesel Peugeot and said put some gas in this pronto some people want to take it for a test drive. We had a gas pump in the back so not even thinking I did just as he said. Not realizing the car was a diesel I pumped about a half tank of unleaded in it. Well those people got a few miles down the road and the car started bucking and coughing and just quit as they pulled into a parking lot. Had the car hooked back and they determined the problem was gasoline in a diesel car. With my name on the gas sheet and that car's stock number. Oh brother did the GM have a stroke. He ranted up and down what a loser I'd have to be to do something that stupid. I must have deep seated mental problems. He was going to call my work study teacher at school and have me thrown out of the program(I left school an hour early to go to work). Well I got home and I must have been visually distraught, and Mom asked what was wrong. Nothing. Oh no, something's up what is it. So I told her what the GM had said. She just said, oh okay. Next morning I woke up for school I was all better, didn't think about it all day. I got to work and the GM came up to me with steam coming out of his ears. You're a big boy, you can handle your own problems. You don't have to have your mother call me. I said, huh? I didn't know she called you. He stormed off, but I tell you that was the last time he picked on me. Apparently Mom called him while I was in school and made no bones that if he spoke to me like that again he'd have some legal action to contend with, I didn't have mental problems and he's not a doctor and what kind of a person would talk to a child like that. Child yes I was still 17. Wow that turned out to be a long story. Mom always had my back, even when I didn't think she did. I haven't thought about that in a long time.
Norm be careful on that lift tomorrow, and don't stand on the top of the railing to reach further. And wear a harness and lanyard. And have your phone with you.
Getting up early to take Mom to Denny's. Then Walmart, then the handyman/carpenter guy that I know is coming over to look at putting down laminate floor for me.
Mike, here's nothing stronger than a mother's love You're lucky I lost myh mother when I was 21 [breast cancer] BTW The Super model is crazy about your mom
Mike - Good on your Mom. I'd say my Mom is much like yours. A Mother's love in unquestionable & unwavering.
I got plenty of good sleep last night - ready to face the day. It's Sunday so I'm trying to be respectful of the neighbors - holding back on firing up the chainsaw until ~9:00 am. I'll be wearing a harness.
Mike - Great story about your Mom and her devotion to you. She sounds like a great lady!
Norm - Glad you got a good night's sleep and you're ready to take on the tree limbs. Glad to hear you'll be wearing a safety harness. Good luck!
Everything was fine at my house when I got home last night from the hockey game except the Internet was still out. It finally came back on about 9:30pm. By a variety of sources I'm seeing we got about 3.1-inches of rain yesterday, a wet one to be sure.
Not sure what all I might do today, I'm feeling pretty lazy? It's supposed to be sunny today, but cool and breezy with a high of 64°, and 15mph wind with gusts up to 30mph.
The deed is one. Collateral damage on wrists & hands - beat 'em up pretty good.
Norm - Glad you were able to get the limbs downed. Hope you're not too crippled up from the task. Do you still have considerable limbs/branches on the ground that need to be further cut-up and hauled off?
Hi guys - Well I got adventurous with my diet tonight. Dawn said she had a craving for Chinese which we haven't had in over a month since I got sick. I ordered boneless Chinese pork ribs that are in a sweet/sour type sauce and pork fried rice. I only ate half of each full order and saved half for a leftover meal. So far, so good, no bellyache so far!
Went to the grocery store this morning to pick up a few things and saw this in the refrigerated section. You don't see alot of Blueberry pies in the stores and it's one of my favorites. Should go well with some Cool Whip later!
Yikes, sounds like a ****-ton of extra work left to do!
Separate topic. Just found out tonight Gabe will be playing in a tournament in Beaver Dam, WI the weekend of January 3-4. Are you familiar with that town, is it a nice area?

Of course, there's going to be tons of work removing all the limbs/branches. I'm not a tree service so I don't own a chipper. I have a field of limbs/branches ~4' - 5' tall 40' in diameter at the base of each of two Oak trees.
Beaver Dam is cool, nice area. Isn't Keith from Beaver Dam? I have cousins who live nearby. I've spent a fair amount of time at Horicon Wildlife Refuge.
