Greg - Wow is right, that sounds super scary! I'm sorry Linda (and you) is having to go thru this. I'm glad the surgery on the 1st side went well and you'll be in our prayers for the next surgery.
Cold here, 35° at 0800, with the 1st frost I've seen on the roof tops (pic). Supposed to be partly sunny and get up to about 65° this afternoon, and then rain chances ramp up this evening and thru the rest of the weekend.
I really need to get out and get the oil changed in the Hyundai this afternoon now that I have everything I need. No grandsons' hockey this weekend. There's a car cruise Saturday afternoon/evening at Raising Canes in Arnold that I'd really like to get to if it's not raining. It might be the last opportunity to get my car out this season.
Damn, Greg, that's scary. Glad that they got it taken care of. My buddy's daughter in law is a P.A. at Hurley. She works in the E.R. Norm, excellent job on the porch, almost too nice to walk on. Well, maybe pull up a chair later and relax while admiring your handi work. I haven't made lasagna in awhile, but, by the way you guys are talking, maybe I should just save myself the effort and buy some Stouffer's.

Sometime down the road a bit I’ll make some fresh pasta. I have all the Kichenaid attachments for my Kitchenaid Pro Mixer to make various types of pasta including lasagna noodles. Nothing beats fresh pasta. Last night I ordered a new ICP sensor & an accompanying connector pigtail. Now I’m thinking of replacing the IPR sensor and the EGR valve since I’ll be in tear-down mode.
Finishing what remains of the porch & installing the new storm door take priority over the truck right now.
Positive progress this morning. Got the oil changed in the Hyundai, no issues. Got an appointment for November 11th with an Orthopedic Surgeon to have both hips evaluated. Taking a break for a minute and then moving on to my lifting workout. Hope everyone is having a great day!
Speaking of Hyundai's, I'm not a fan but recently I've really taken a liking to the current Elantra. I love the duck tail spoiler effect on the back and the tail lights. Never drove one, never sat in one, but I like them when I see them on the street. And they're cheep. I think less than 25K. Maybe that's for a fairly new used one.
Chris if you need a cheerleader for a hip replacement give me a shout. There isn't much I can tell you about it except I suffered 7 long years with a bad hip and the replacement was like a miracle.
My final Valiant comment, because some people will just never get it, a Valiant would be an excellent car to work on with grandsons, without worrying about screwing something expensive up. They are easy to understand and work on, and will run forever. I've heard of people running the 6 out of oil and it still ran. Probably was pretty loud. I can see you with a 66 convertible. Good car to pass along, too. Oh who am I kidding. I'll have more comments.

Mike - Dan has the same Hyundai model SUV (Santa Fe Sport), and I believe the same year (2017) that we do. I know he has had significant issues with his, but we have had good luck with our's SO FAR??? It has alot of room, rides well, has alot of pep for a non-turbo 4cyl, and gets good gas mileage for an AWD vehicle. We only have 65K-miles on it so far. I wouldn't get anything for it in a trade in and I'll probably just drive it until it pukes.
I'll hit you up in a PM about the hip surgery, maybe not tonight, but soon. My main questions are about recovery process/time. Thanks!

Slept in until 0830, which is very late for me. Not nearly as cold this morning, it only got down to about 54°. Very overcast, but low chance of rain, and a high of only about 65°.
I may do a cardio workout at some point depending on how I feel. May go to the car cruise-in this afternoon/evening. The only "for certain" is watching some College Football at some point. I'm going to check the top games on today in a minute and hit the record function on the ones I want to watch later at my leisure.

Well, I was pretty much spot on about my prediction of how my day would go yesterday. I got a call from my daughter yesterday morning not long after my message quoted above, that Keegan was being allowed to play hockey yesterday afternoon. He had 2 games back to back, each with a 30-minute running clock, so an hour total. His team team tied the 1st game 3-3, and lost the 2nd game 3-2. He played very well stopping 76 out of 81 shots on goal, but more importantly no anger or behavioral issues out on the ice. He has more games today starting at 11:30am. I have no frickin idea why the schedulers would do this to 7-8yr olds, but he has 4 games today, again each with 30-minute running clocks, all back to back to back over a 2-hour period. Keegan is his team's only goalie, so he will have to be on the ice the entire time, which pretty much sucks!
I will need to get a cardio workout in this afternoon after I get back from the hockey games since I skipped yesterday's. The only football game I'm really interested in is the Steelers/Packers game tonight. The Chiefs play on Monday Night Football and the Lions are on a Bye Week. That's about it for me today.
No, honestly I cannot fathom that! We had 12-inches one time in a 36-hour period and it was like Armageddon!

Norm - The event I was referencing was not associated with the widespread regional flooding along the Mississippi in both '93 and '94, this was a localized event some years after those major floods. In the flood of '93 I volunteered to sandbag at my Agency around our separate Printing and Distribution building that was directly adjacent to the River about 5-miles south of our main facility. I worked 12-hour days there sandbagging and we were keeping up with the rising water and thought we were going to avoid any damage. However, a propane storage facility that was only a couple blocks away was not being protected, and with the rising water a number of tanks started to break away from their foundations and the local Fire Marshall ordered an immediate mandatory evacuation of a several block radius around the propane facility including our facility. That is when we lost the battle, and our facility went what ended up being several feet under, including all the printing presses. It was a nightmare!

Cut up the thick Andersen storm door tough & thick shipping cardboard into sections yesterday for recycling disposal. Need to begin getting my head around that project next.
Yep, for sure! When they noticed some were starting to break loose they got us out of there in a hurry. After our Printing and Distribution facility flooded, they cleaned it up and running again fairly quickly, but also got funding to build a brand new one 20-miles South in Arnold, which was a major improvement. If you look on Google Maps where the location of the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency is at 2nd St. and Arsenal, you will see that our main location in StL where I worked was also almost right on the riverfront also, but there was a huge levee wall directly behind our facility that held during both the '93 and '94 floods.
The only football game I'm really interested in is the Steelers/Packers game tonight.
My youngest brother's (Tim's) wife (Lori) is a Packers FREAK. Cannot sit still & paces the living room. Rants & raves about it all. He'll need to restrain her to the couch w/ ropes & force feed her a bag of gummies tonight.

My brother and I went down to Fennville yesterday to take care of the grave markers. Went to the orchard where we get apples, and I usually get a big pumpkin (100# or larger). We'll, due to the drought, deer put a big dent in their pumpkin crop, destroying the largest ones. Grabbed some everecrisp and golden delicious apples while there. Went down the road a bit where there is a small store that sells local wine and baked goods. They usually have pumpkins, but no luck there. I did buy a blueberry pie, and apple cake, so not a total loss. We then headed back north, and stopped south of Grand Haven at a greenhouse. They usually have high prices, but I snagged a 70# pumpkin while there at a decent price. I said NO to the 250# $100 pumpkin that they had. Watched the UM-MSU game and pretty much nodded off afterwards. Today, a couple loads of laundry. Pumpkin carving, up shortly.

LoL 😃 We could sure hear them banging around back there, but couldn't see **** because we had no windows in the main Classified facility. Directly to North across the street from the NGA complex is a huge Anheuser-Busch warehouse. The trains were constantly loading up product there. On the backside (facing East) of the main building where I worked there were several steel fire escape stairs. Sometimes when it was nice out I'd take my lunch and climb the fire escape up to the 6th floor looking out over the river and watch the barge traffic while eating my lunch, it was very relaxing!
Dan - Sounds like you had a nice day. Glad you found some nice baked goods and large pumpkin! I have a permanent momento of the joys of pumpkin carving when I was 13. I had already carved mine and my little Sister who was 7 wanted help. My hands and the big butcher knife handle were already gooey, and I had the knife in my hand with the blade facing my palm. I went to stab the top of the pumpkin and my palm slid right down the blade with a big gash all the way to the bone. 5 stitches deep and 10 on the skin surface. That was a fun Halloween that I'll never forget! 🤪
Ordered burgers and waffle fries from my favorite local greasy spoon tonight. Three double burgers and a medium waffle frie, and I ate it all. No belly ache or distress of any kind and it's been about an hour since I ate. I think I'm all the way back to normal! 👍 I'm not going to go crazy with the eating though, and I'm going to try like hell to stay around 160lbs and not the 173lbs where I was at before the stomach issue started. I was at 158lbs today, so far so good!

It rained steady pretty much all day yesterday, thru the night, and still raining this morning. It's supposed to stop around 10am, but stay overcast and only get up to about 55°. Another heavy batch of rain is supposed to come through tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday, but it's supposed to be dry on Friday for the trick-or-treaters.
Looking back at the posts from yesterday, I realized I didn't post any info on how Keegan's 4 hockey games went yesterday afternoon. That's probably because my brain was frozen and I was chilled to the bone for hours after 2 and 1/2-hrs at the hockey rink that was especially cold yesterday! As I mentioned yesterday, Keegan's team had 4 games yesterday, each with a 1/2-hour running clock, back to back to back yesterday afternoon. His team had a 15-minute break between the 2nd and 3rd games. Being his team's only goalie, he was on the ice the entire time for all 4 games. He had a great 1st game with a 2-0 shutout win. His team lost the next 3 games by a couple of goals each game, 3-1, 4-2, and 3-1. I used a counter function on my phone to keep count of his saves over all 4 games and he had a 95% save percentage. By the 4th game I was exhausted just watching the poor little guy out there! The schedulers should have been shot for doing that to those little guys! Anyway, Keegan, although exhausted at the end, was in good spirits and appeared to have fun, and was able to keep his emotions in check the entire time he was out on the ice. I was very proud of how he handled the whole day!

The reason for all the food is in case R&R of the IPC sensor gets way out of control & I run into issues. Parts were to arrive Wed & Thu & now they’re arriving today. Rearranged mancave to accommodate truck & generally reorganize from porch project to truck project. Storm door is now on hold until after truck project. Supposed to rain for several days anyways. Time to move more tree debris curbside.

Rainy and dreary out. Dare I say dank. I guess I can't complain, we haven't had rain for weeks. But enough is enough.
Took the SRX to the emission place today. Fail. I can't say that I'm surprised. But the new computer that was supposed to be cloned from the old one was supposed to be the end all of my problems. The tester guy said he was getting a "message" from the oxygen sensor that it wasn't ready to be tested. So that could be a separate problem. I don't care that car goes away. I'm not going to chase ghosts and throw a bunch of money at it hoping I can get it right. At least with the new computer it starts every time and doesn't give any messages. The way it was before made it virtually worthless. So now I get to peruse car sites and hopefully find something I like.
Chris I'm glad Keegan had a good day and good games. Is the bullying still going on? When I was 6 about the only thing I had to worry about was whether I wore a shirt one day or two.
Norm good luck with the truck. Hope it isn't raining so if you get delayed in finishing you don't have to ride in bad weather to get where you need to.
Well the day isn't a total loss, I mailed a couple letters and had lunch at Awful house. Also ran a couple red lights because the stupid slow asses in front of me didn't give a $hit about anyone else. Great idea when the plates on the car expired in July.
The rain is beginning to move in - got about eight large loads of tree debris moved to curbside.
Mike - Thanks for the well wishes w/ the truck. The motorcycle has been up on the lift the past month, awaiting for me to R&R the starter; so, I won't be riding anywhere. That project will fester until I can remove other priorities. So, your computer states it isn't ready to be tested, yet? That's crazy. Run those red lights Mike - it's all about you - you know? LMAO
