Hi everyone.

Got up early and we went to Denny's. Then Walmart. Then I didn't do anything else because I was waiting for the handyman to come look at the floor. There's been 700sq ft of laminate flooring in Mom's living room for weeks, and the sad truth is I'm not going to put it down. So this guy is going to do it for me. Anyway it rained this morning just enough so that I couldn't do anything outside. The guy eventually came and Tiger wanted to go home and that's Sunday.

Thanks everyone for saying nice things about my Mom. Jamesbo I can tell you Mom really enjoyed meeting Supermodel. That whole day was nice being with everyone we both enjoyed it immensely.

Norm I'm glad you came down from the lift on your own. Sometimes a dumbass will stand on the rail and the tree he's cutting down will hit the lift and the dumbass will then fall off and be hanging by his harness/lanyard. Certainly glad you weren't that dumbass.

Couple errands to run tomorrow, then take Mom to the doctor, then end early for work Tuesday. Ah, five days off is wonderful. I'll get back to work and it will feel like I never left. But I've gotten quite a bit done.

Okay off to bed. Have a good night everyone.

I'd be inclined to do the same while it is still a little warmer out. The debris would be good cooler weather work, if there is such a thing?

Just a thought since you rented the boom lift, would it be worth it to rent a heavy duty chipper when you do get to the limb/branch debris?

Mike - I've never stood on any rail on any articulating boom/lift - never. I stand on the floor of the basket/platform - ONLY. Never do I stand on ANY rail. Life is short, there are no dress rehearsals.

No. I'll haul it all out to the road where my town will pick it all up for free. Our town owns a grappler truck. They pick up tree limbs/branches, yard debris each Tuesday.

Good morning everyone.

Nothing is different since the 12 hours ago I was here last. I sure slept good. It will be the last time this week.

Greg we do Denny's once in a while, Mom likes Denny's and it's a good ways away so we don't get there very often. I don't hate it but I'm not a fan.

Hope the week starts out good for everyone.

Dan - Yep you're probably right, there should be lots of goodies to choose from there this time of year!

I had a large piece of the "Wild Blueberry" pie last night and I was a little disappointed. It was good, but not as good as I had hoped. I have no idea if the Blueberries were really "Wild Blueberries", but they were tiny, and had kind of a grainy texture. Oh well???

Good morning everyone.

And so it is, here I am back at work after 5 wonderful days off. It feels like I never left. Why doesn't that happen any other place I go? By all accounts I didn't miss a thing. We've been here almost an hour and I have yet to even see a wheel. Gonna be a long day.

It's funny I say I like blueberries but I wouldn't sit down and eat them. I like them in stuff, like pie, but I wouldn't make a snack of them. On the other hand, I'll eat the hell out of green grapes, but a green grape pie sounds awful.

Don't have much planned for the week, hard to do stuff when you have one hour a day. I might find something to get into trouble. Maybe set some things up for the weekend.

Okay I think I see a wheel coming. I've got a rookie for a wall guy so he might be a little slow. Hope everyone has a good day.

Mike - It's always tough going back to the grind after some extended time away. At least you're not coming back to a backlog of 300 wheels you're expected to get caught up on, plus the new ones you'll get today, tomorrow and the day after. When I was still working, there was no one else doing "my work" while I was away, it just piled up and I was expected to get caught up ASAP when I returned. Being on vacation was always great, but coming back was misery because I always knew there'd be a mountain of work to dig myself out from under when I returned.

Hello and good morning. We're finally getting around to some cool temps in the morning around 40*. Probably going to see our first frost in the upcoming days.

I read Dennys a moment ago, and remember ours. Like Mike, It was never my favorite but not a bad spot for something to eat. The events of 2020 were too much for its bottom line. Previous to that, it was a Big Boy and a Shoneys. For me, I'll remember it as a Coast to Coast where I got my first bicycle. I can still remember the smell of the place...new tire smell from the many new riding mowers and such. The check out area was full of rifles and fishing poles and all things hardware scattered about.

Speaking of them little amish pies, we have two amish stores. Locally raised beef and pork among the usual jams, jellies and jerky. Its nice to have that choice of meats when you're tired of the super center/Tyson cuts available elsewhere. We actually have a Tyson chicken processor plant with lots of chicken farmers in the county. Its not uncommon to find a dead chicken now and then roadside.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hope your day is a good one.

Hi Don - Yep, the leaves are turning and the temps dropping, and finally feeling like Fall. Great to hear from you, and hope you and your family are well over there in the Wild West of Missouri. LoL

Good evening guys,

I didn't do a whole helluva lot today. I did make Dawn happy by encouraging and forking out the cash for her to get a new phone. She got a Samsung S25 Ultra.

Since it is turning colder and wetter, I skipped my workout this afternoon and made the effort to have my SIL over to test ride my Yamaha this afternoon around 4:30. It was not a great day to ride despite sunny skies because of sustained 15 to 20mph winds with 30mph gusts, but we managed to get out for about an hour and a half of combined rural/highway riding. He loved the bike, and told me to come up with a price I'd want for it. Of course I'll give him a sweet deal, and I really want it gone. I realized something else while I was out riding. I'm never going to be able to do those long all day rides again, I barely got thru an hour and a half, and I was in agony the whole time we were out. The riding position for some reason accentuated my already painful arthritis in both my hips to the point where I could barely get my legs up/down from the foot pads to the pavement, making the whole experience unenjoyable at best, and dangerous at the worst. I'm now resolved to the fact that it's time to hang up my helmet! Come Spring the Indian is going too, someone's going to get a good deal because I want it gone too. When the bikes are both gone I can start searching for a 2nd classic car!

Hope everyone has had a great day and has a relaxing evening!

Dan - You just have to wonder where the rising costs of everything (especially healthcare) is ever going to stop. Between separate healthcare coverage for Dawn, and Medicare (Parts A, B, and C) for me, plus dental and vision benefits for both of us, I'm shelling out $750/month or about $187/week! It's good coverage, but by far the 2nd largest chunk out of our monthly budget, not far behind our house payment. I feel real really bad for lower income folks who are trying to afford even basic healthcare!

I hate to brake the bad news but 'Health Care" is long gone, it's make the BIG bucks at the expense of anyone who can pay and the people who can't let uncle Sugar pay for them . Last week I had cataract surgery in another factory. The nurse told me it was a slow day [only did 49 instead of the usual 76.The place I get dialysis Devita has 2800 locations and schools in the Philippines to teach techs so the can hire them and move them to the U.S. Every time you see a new commercial on Tv it means some lobbyist has strong armed their congressman to pay for something [ like catheters ] "Practicing Medicine" is long gone

The object of the game is to suck you dry then plant you

Jim - Agree, I've spoken to this in a previous post. Once a practicing health care practitioner (MD) emerges fresh from the womb of med school, it isn't long they realize their health care system is dictated by their business model - not the health of their patients.

I'm having a blast reconstructing (upgrading) the porch. So nice when you have the time & materials to do it right. Having the correct tools is, of course, a benefit. 👍

Monday morning the 2003 F250 diesel tractor engine began wheezing, farting, lurching & belching. The truck was warming up @ idle just prior to returning the lift/boom @ 6:30am. My OBDII code scanner shows the engine throwing code P2285. P2285 suggests ICP (Injection Control Pressure) sensor. Engine lacks performance, misses, etc. This ICP sensor is in one of the worst places on this early 2003 engine & it's historically one of the most common items to fail. I replaced it once (from under the truck) once some years ago. I barely had any knuckles remaining. The pigtail connector also gets soaked w/ oil & likely is contributing to the ICP sensor going Tango Uniform. I need to R&R both the sensor & the pigtail connector. I did not replace the pigtail the last time. In order to replace the pigtail I need to remove the sensor from the top-side of the engine - removing a labyrinth of other devices first. Beginning 2004 they moved the location of the sensor to a user-friendly serviceable location. Why do I still own this truck?

Why do I still own this truck?
Maybe because you really don't want to shell out $80K for a new one?

You know, I don't think I ever ate there, just can't recall.

Weekly Walmart trip completed. I think I'll mark the calendar for Wednesday morning trips. Parked right up front and not very busy. The school zones were packed as I can't get to Walmart without at least one school zone. I still need to go to the credit union and then its off to the dentist. Yay.

Have a constructive and postive day.

Good morning guys,

Sunny again today, but just plain chilly right now at 44° at 0800. Headed towards a high of about 65° today, but very breezy again with sustained 15mph winds with gusts up to 25mph. Tomorrow will be the pick day of the week, sunny and 65° with only a slight breeze. Clouds move in on Friday with a 30% - 40% chance of scattered showers the weekend.

Since I skipped my cardio workout yesterday, I'm going to try and double up today, doing my lifting workout this morning and a cardio workout this afternoon. I was losing light early yesterday evening when we got back from riding, so I didn't go over the bikes to remove any bugs/road grime, that has to be done today sometime. I don't think there should be too many bugs on there with as cool and as windy as it was when we were out yesterday.

We'll see what the rest of the day brings??? Hope everyone has a great one! 😃
