Jim - Found something you'd likely enjoy viewing. Towards end of Group 2 images. I think it's a 1969? Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Drop-dead gorgeous. Lots of really nice cars, as well.

Pics from a local car show today

Good evening guys,

Long, but very fun day. It was warm, probably about 90°, but very low humidity, and a nice breeze blowing all day at the Car Show. My canopy chair (Mike) was a godsend since there was little shade to be found.

The MC said there were 217 paid entrants. I tried to put my car in the '60 to '69 Stock Class, but when the person at the Registration Table saw my form and that I had a 4-4-2, he said I really think you need to be in the '64 to '72 Muscle Car Class. Well I wasn't going to argue with him and cause a scene, so that's what I was put in. I walked around the entire Show Field right after Registration closed and counted 27 cars in my Class. AiYiYi! Somehow I pulled off a 3rd Place! Our Old's Club also won the Club Participation Trophy!

Beautiful day here, not always sunny. I got a little yardwork done, though no mowing like I wanted to. Puttered around a bit.

Norm that's a late 80s or a 90 Wagoneer. I think the 91s had a different grille. The museum I -used- to be a member of had the very last Grand Wagoneer. They sold it probably 5 years ago after having it for decades. Very short-sighted if you ask me. I would consider the SJ an icon. What better way to represent the entire line than with the last one built. Eh, they didn't ask me.

At this late hour I'm considering not going to Florida tomorrow. Reasons for not going 1) I hate that long drive back. 2) It's not a 2500HD, just a regular 2500. It really doesn't need to be an HD for my purposes, but it's getting parted out for an HD and it would be nice to know everything matches. 3) For what I want off it I could probably buy individually for less money, and I wouldn't have the carcass to get rid of. 4) My friend who is picking me up at the airport, I have a lot of beef with her and she doesn't (I think) know it yet. I'd hate to have something come out that would be, uncomfortable, or worse yet get me abandoned somewhere. I still have the blue van and the Suburban to haul stuff around. Certainly a long bed 2500 would pop up around me sooner or later.

Third out of 27 isn't bad, Chris. You're in the 11.1%. Cool looking plaque.

Okay bed. The guy will probably be pissed if I don't show up but heck, that's selling a car. It's a pain. If I decide not to go I'll call him in the morning. I'll tell him I couldn't get the flight. Have a good night everyone.

--Going to Drags today. Most my friends don't understand.. "I never knew you were into racing. Is your old truck fast?", no and no. I am going along with a buddy- we want to get pics of our trucks lined up at starting line, etc. One of my friends cancelled due to medical reasons...was going to be 3 trucks. We're not getting any younger. Gonna do it while we can, should be fun. Truck has been doing fine- Olds too. With this beautiful weather I don't feel like I need to be getting stuff put away- though it is time.
-- Oh yeah, on the serious side... My other friend who I mentioned a year or so ago, has his cancer back. He is stage 4 and it has metastasized. ****!! Such a great guy This is bad karma for a guy who should have gotten good karma, he has always helped people with most everything.. He waits till he's 65 so he can retire and 1-2 years later- Pancreatic Cancer! Last year they removed 1/2 of his pancreas and his spleen and it seemed he was doing good until his 3 month check and it's back with a vengeance!

Good morning guys,

I got to see Gabe play a great game this morning. He had 2 goals and 2 assists in a 5 - 1 win. Don't know what all I'm going to do today other than watch the Lions play at some point..
Hope everyone has a great day!

Chris, congrats on the hardware. Greg, damn that sucks. Really sorry to hear that about your friend. Got off the phone with a very good friend of mine this morning, he is fighting the big C as well. Nasty **** that shouldn't happen to anyone.

Hi everyone.

Didn't go to Florida. Just wasn't feeling it. I kinda regret a couple things about it but by and large I'm glad I didn't go. If that truck were any closer it would be in my driveway. But going all that way to see it initially, and the expectation, by both parties maybe, of buying it, then the long drive home, nah. So I tell him I'm not coming, I missed the flight, and he said okay how about I bring it to the state line? I don't know if he was serious or not.

Greg that's too bad about your friend. I just hope he isn't in a lot of pain.

So now I got laundry going. How do I have so much laundry? It spit rain for a couple hours this morning so nothing going on outside. Got plenty to do inside, I just have to get my self motivated.

Have a good day everyone.

Great day at Drags...
My Buddy and I. He has a 88 Ranger with a 4 cyl and 5 speed. It is tubbed and looks badass, but is a pretender, and he plays it as one. My 56 F100 has a 300 6 and a 5 speed. We had a hard time running together. This is the only

Thanks Jim! Dawn converted one bedroom to her "She Shed", I converted one to my "Man Cave", where I do my cardio workouts, and keep car stuff, including Show awards/trophies. I only have room in there to display about 3/5's of the nicest ones. The remaining ones are stashed away in a cabinet (last pic).

Hi everyone.

Got up this morning and I just wasn't feeling it. Pain in both my hips and I couldn't bend or walk very well. Things are easing up as the day goes on. I'm gonna have to go see the doctor when I'm at work tomorrow. There's an Emory office right in the hangar and I go there for doctor stuff.

Chris like you, I have way more stuff than room to display it. Every so often I rotate everything so some stuff goes to storage and some stuff comes out. Like a museum.

Kind of gloomy here, no rain but it looks like the skies could open up. Don't have anything planned for the afternoon, don't know how much I can put up with. Plus I need to end early so I can go to work tomorrow.

Guess I'll find something to do. Hope everyone has a good Monday.

Mike - Sorry to hear you woke up feeling so poorly this morning. Nice that you have access to a Doctor's Office right there in the hangar. I hope they can help you and get you some relief!

Glenn - Thank you! Is the engine in your Dynamic a 394ci? I have forgotten what is wrong with it? Are you going to have to rebuild it, or totally replace it with something else? Good luck with it!

Hi , the engine is a 425 - 1965. No compression in one cylinder , hope to save it but depends how the cylinder bore looks like. It,s expensive to totally rebuild this engines here.

Have started a thread in the engine part of the forum and should post pics how it looks.

Thanks, I will find and follow the thread. I've heard several knowledgeable old timers say those mid-60's 425's were the best engines Oldsmobile ever made, I hope you can save it.

Yes i hope so , the engine in the 98 runs good.
Many cars here have other engines , Chevys but
also 6,2 and 6,5 diesel. Mercedes and Volvo inline six truck diesels.

LoL Of course I've only seen a few pics of your car, but it certainly looks very nice, and certainly nice enough to place at many shows around here. I have the luxury of getting to pick and choose from a ton of car shows within a reasonable distance from me.

Mike - Your pain is exactly as mine the past three to four days. It's been taking me at least one hour to work out the kinks before I begin the days activities - renovating the porch deck, of course. I'm up ~4:30am - 5:30am ea. morning, coffee, hobble about organizing the house, dishes, back & forth to man-cave, etc. No sense in me seeing a doctor - there's no cure for old & feeble. Today, I opted for a couple Tylenol (Acetaminophen, 650mg ea). Seriously relieved my pain for ~4-5hrs.

You likely recall from an earlier image the porch deck is ~3' off the ground. There was/were no blocking boards used in constructing this porch frame structure - so, I'm installing blocking boards between joists & house ledger. I've banged up both shins numerous times hopping/scrambling up/down & over blocking boards & joists. Terrible height, my shins are getting beat up. I've installed ~25 or 26 - nine or ten more to go for a total of ~35 blocking boards.

Norm - Sorry to hear your old bones are aching too! Probably the pot calling the kettle black, but I think you push yourself too hard sometimes! 😉 I didn't say anything this morning when I responded to Mike's pains, but I'm suffering the same. I cut out the Ibuprofen I was using to manage my arthritis pain on September 14th, the first day I got ill. Haven't had any since. My Doc said I could try Extra Strength Tylenol, but we don't have any in the house, so I've just been trying to manage without it for fear that it could be just one more thing that could trigger another episode. Probably going to have to give it a try soon though because I'm having trouble sleeping because I just can't get comfortable with the achiness. It sucks!

My go-to pain reliever has always been AcetylSalicylic Acid (ASA), commonly known as Aspirin. It still remains my #1 pain reliever. I'm not much on any drug, to be honest. I take them when/if needed. I've taken maybe a dozen Tylenol this year total (650 mg ea). I might have taken maybe 30 Aspirin this year.
