Greg - With the cost of parts these days I'm sure just about every one of them is a challenge not to come out underwater. Good luck!

I'm curious, how hot has it been up there, I haven't talked to my Sister lately?

I would like to get a gander at a Big Boy. I would have to drive a ways to do it. Greg, I never did answer you on the possibility of going to Stanton for test & tune. If I floor my car off of the line, it will most likely stall. I have to ease into it before giving it a bit of gas. Not ideal for running the quarter mile. After not seeing any humming birds around here since early May, one finally showed up about a week ago hitting the bee balm. He showed up again a couple of times this afternoon, and again about ten minutes ago. In-between I refreshed the feeder, and he made it back again. Such a cool bird to watch.

Hey, any of you guys out there that might see this. CO will not currently let me download any pic to the site. I've tried pictures that have downloaded before, no dice. I'm not sure if it's something going on with CO or my phone. Can someone do a test and see if CO will allow you to download a pic to this thread? Thanks

Update - I also tried from my tablet, it's a no go from it too, so it's probably CO?

Do you see an Oldsmobile in a trailer?

Also, you mean upload, I think. Uploading is sharing, downloading is saving a copy.

Yes, I see your '68, and you're correct upload is the correct term. Thank you! It was not working earlier, but I have since gotten it to work on both my devices. I had meant to get back on and put a 2nd update stating I had got it to work, but forgot. Really appreciate the rsvp John. BTW, the '68 looks killer! I think that's the 1st pic I've seen of it in good lighting. 👍

Dan- none of our cars are going to impress anyone with the times or speed- it is just for fun and photo ops. We will have a '88 Ranger with a 4cyl stick, a 1956 F100 with a 6 cyl 5speed stick, a '53 Chevy pickup w a chev350, and a 1940 Ford w a chev 350, all street cars- not fast at all... You with the knowledge and expertise you have w photo taking, bring a friend or if you like one of us could drive your car and you stand at starting line and get pics- really cool!! We have a old pic of my wife on the starting line at Norwalk Raceway that we had blown up into a poster and had framed- it is awesome!! I still don't know if Oct 5th will work for us, but I hope you come if you can., and bring Olds!! By the way, sounds like accelerator pump on the dying out, or not enuff initial timing. Chris, yes it has been very hot and humid here in MI. Alot better yesterday. I'll see if I can post a pic- Dan...

Good morning everyone.

Slow start to the day. That's okay, I'm having a slow start to the day. I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it was Wednesday.

Got nothing to report. Just checking in. Hope everyone has a great day.

But to see and HEAR that massive machine is an experience you can't even begin to describe. Standing near (probably too close) to the tracks as this thing went blasting by, you could actually feel the heat from it. And that whistle? Unbelievable. I knew it was big but the drive wheels are as tall as I am.

No internet on my desktop since yesterday. Modem is lit up, and indicates "online". Windows network diagnostics telling me to install a network adapter. "Windows did not detect Properly installed network adapter. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver." ? Wtf. I did unplug the modem couple of times to reboot, but no luck. Greg, my thought as well on the accelerator pump.

Good evening guys,

I've been keeping busy. Spent the last 3 mornings from 8 - noon cleaning on the car after driving home from the show last Sunday on very wet roads. I've still probably got 2 more full mornings to go before I get it back to show worthy condition. It's been getting up close to 90° in the garage by noon, which is too hot even with a fan on me. There's a show over in Illinois this coming Sunday near my buddy's house that I've been trying to get to for 3-years but it always seems to rain. Right now there is 0% chance of rain Sunday, but the actual temp is supposed to be 96°, with a Heat Index of 105°. If the forecast stays that hot I'm going to be thinking long and hard about whether I want to subject myself to that.

Really need to mow tomorrow or Friday and I'm not looking forward to that in this heat.

Hope everyone had a great day and is having a relaxing evening!

Good morning everyone.

Not a quick start to the day and I feel like things won't be a ball of fire today. Yesterday no one was feeling it and the results showed. So the lead chose to be a douchebag and keep us until the stroke of 330. It's gonna be a pissing match the rest of the week.

Chris what day did you say your show in September was gonna be? I forgot where I saw that and can't look it up. Is that an all-Olds show?

More physical therapy today. It's gonna be with a dude I hope he goes easy on me. I'm still feeling the effects from Monday.

Okay gotta do something. Hope everyone has a good day.

Hi Mike - Hope the PT guy doesn't push ya too hard, just hard enough!

Our Oldsmobile Show put on by the Archway Old's Club is Sunday, September 28th. I wish it was on a Saturday which would make it easier for some of you guys who might want to come from a distance, but if the Monday after the 28th is your Monday off that still might work for you? Yes, it's an all Oldsmobile Show, any condition is welcome. I've been trying for years now to have them hold it on a Saturday and use Sunday as a rain date, but can't get them to budge. I didn't go last year because of the threat of rain, and they got heavy rain during the show so I was glad I didn't go!

Here's the flyer again with the particulars.

Good afternoon guys,

I've had a busy day. Got out to the garage cleaning/detailing on the car again. Been working on it every morning this week for 3 or 4-hours. Worked out there from 0830 until 1100 today. I've got everything done now except polishing the front bumper.

Went inside and cooled off and got hydrated to start on mowing. Today is going to be the coolest of the next 3 or 4, so I figured I'd better get out there. I got done around 1 and it was 90° when I came in. Supposed to be 95° tomorrow, and 97° Saturday and Sunday with a Heat Index of 105°. I already told Dawn that if the forecast stays that hot for the Show on Sunday I'm not going. There's a cruise-in at the Culver's in Festus on Saturday evening. I may run down there for a few hours if I decide against going to the Show Sunday.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Thanks Chris. I might try to make it out, it would be a good chance to visit my brother and some other people that live just over the river in Illinois. We'll see how it goes. There's a local show the day before that's always a good one I like to go to.

So yesterday we stayed until the bitter end. Today before 2 he tells us to stop working and clean really well. That usually consists of sweeping for a few minutes then sitting down. So we sat for an hour and a half then left around 20 after three. What a waste. My guess is he's not going to be there tomorrow. I would welcome that.

Heading out to PT in a few minutes. Wish me luck. If you don't hear back from me it's because I'm in traction.

Mike - That would be really great if you can make it! I'd really love the opportunity to meet you in person. I think you'd enjoy the Show, alot of really nice, friendly folks in our Club.

Great times w/ cousins and my two brothers & their families in The Great White North. Brewers went 12 straight wins. Wisconsinites are all enjoying the Brewers. In Milwaukee visiting friends now. Down to Elgin, Illinois, Saturday tee-time Sunday 9:00am.

Norm - Sounds like you're having a great time! 👍 I've been keeping track of the Brewers streak, boy have they been on a tear. Have a great rest of your trip and be safe.

Good morning everyone.

Everyone was surprised when the lead didn't come in today. I called it yesterday, that guy is too predictable. There are no wheels to speak of, the back is empty, there's been huge gaps in the supply, and we took over an hour for our 10 minute break at 8. I think that's why he's not here. We were sure to have a light day today and he didn't want to have to explain it.

Physical Therapy wasn't too bad yesterday. I like the dude a lot. He had new exercises and stretches for me to do. I didn't feel as worked over this time as I did the first time, but I did work up quite a sweat.

I see that the vines and weeds are growing over the AC compressors again. So this weekend I'll go out and clear them away. I wish I had something better than a little spritz bottle with Roundup to put on the weeds to keep them away a little longer. I need to clean up the whole area so I can have guys come in and replace the upstairs window that is right above this area.

Think I'll go for a walk. I've eaten all my snacks, I guess I'll go get more snacks. Won't get any wheels for awhile. Three to myself after today. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Mike, 40 bucks will get you a two gallon pump sprayer. Next step up after that is garden hose sprayer where you put a bottle of it on the end of a hose. Next is gas powered backpack fogger. That requires PPE.

So, I bought a new toy a couple weeks ago. 1993 Jeep Wrangler S
On Monday I went to the DMV to transfer the title over. I got there and they have this kiosk you sign into and it gives you a number. You then wait for your number to be called.
So I signed in and got my number. no sooner then I had the number in my hand it was called. I went to the window and l gave them the old title, signed and then paid for it.
I was in and out in 5 min. That is one of the good things about living in a small town. I did the same thing on Wednesday to renew registration on one of my other cars. In and out in 5 min.

Here is a picture.

Love the Jeep. A friend of mine bought a TJ once and brought it over to show me. He let me drive it, I loved it. Almost bought one myself, but there isn't any utility in a Jeep and I drive trucks.

Norm the pole never got replaced. They might have forgotten about me. That's okay, it isn't in danger of falling down, and the tree is gone. Win.

Actually John if I could I'd use fire. Speaking of that, you know the torches the roofers use on tar roofs? Are those readily available at a box store or online? That would be perfect for burning out the weeds that grow in the cracks of the driveway. I could easily use the hand held propane torch, but I would have to get down on my hands and knees and that isn't too easy these days. Eh, I'm tough.

Isn't "flame torch" redundant? Well, the Australians call a flashlight a torch. Haven't figured that one out yet.

I'm gonna check them out. Thanks Norm. When are you due back?

Mike - Yeah, likely redundant. Just a hand held hose w/ nozzle which attaches to the propane tank - flame thrower.

Good afternoon guys,

Got out to the garage fairly early around 0800 and had the remaining car detailing done by 0900, it's now in Show condition. Just in time to do . . . Nothing! Forecast for the Show I wanted to go to on Sunday is now for an actual temp of 100°, with a Heat Index of 111°. No thank you!

Came in from the garage and got on my medical insurance website to find a local Ophthalmologist. Two days ago I developed a "floater" in my right eye, very annoying! I was able to find one that can get me in next Wednesday the 20th to get a diagnosis and potential treatment.

Spent the rest of the morning paying bills online. Need to get up here in a minute and start my workout. Hotter than hell out here, 96° for a high and Heat Index of 112°, this has been a brutal Summer!

Hope everyone has a great day!

If I would have had a flame thrower all these years I wouldn't have had near the trouble with my neighbors...

That's great you can get in to see the eye guy so quick Chris. Hope it isn't anything serious

Thanks Mike! The first guy I called couldn't get me in until October 23rd. Then the receptionist asked if I would be willing to see the other doctor in the practice, at their other office 15-miles further away, on this coming Wednesday? I said I'll take it, I need to know what I'm dealing with, and time could be a factor.

Looks like my computer is about done for. Dropped it off this afternoon, and the guy immediately started working on it. He did quite a bit of troubleshooting, but believes he might have a shot at fixing it. Ordered a part for it, which he thinks will arrive tomorrow. If that's the cure, then a mere 65 bucks will be the charge. Time to get my employee discount, and buy a new one. Small local car show tomorrow, about 75 cars, and ten minutes away.

Chris - Would you be willing to drive 15 miles further but be seen TWO MONTHS earlier? I’m sorry, it’s not humorous but it’s certainly a no brainer. Glad you’re getting in quickly.

Dan - Really glad you're getting out with your cayour much as you are and enjoying it! Hope they can fix your computer and keep it going awhile longer, good luck. I'm going to need to seriously start looking for a new one soon, who knows what will happen when the Windows support ceases.

Word on the street is next Windows version originally expected this fall looks like early next year, instead. These last series of Windows Updates most of you have seen are large Version Updates much like the historical Service Pack Updates we’ve all seen for many previous versions of Windows.
