Hi everyone,

Actually Norm, it's still tacky. I waited until about 11 then decided to go home. It was chilly in the shop and I thought that might be why the paint wasn't drying. But I was afraid taking the parts out into the cold would make the paint check. I cranked the heat way up on the way home, and this morning they looked fine. Although I did a poor job of painting anyway. Eh, they will be under the car.

Walmart is done. Lots of people. A bit of lunch and it's home to see Tiger and do some chores.

Hope everyone is having a good day. It sure is pretty out.

Greg - I hate to see losses like that anytime, but even more so during the Holidays. I hope no one was injured badly or perished. Stuff can be replaced, loved ones cannot. Good on you pardner for your service to the Red Cross! 👍 You're 100% spot on, we'd all better be counting our Blessings, we are all very fortunate!

Good morning everyone.

Frost on the pumpkin this morning. Luckily the Charger heats up pretty fast because I haven't found my scrapers and the frost on the windshield is more hearty than my library card. The good news is the days are getting longer!

Greg what exactly is a multi-family fire? An apartment building? More than one house in a row that's affected? I saw that once, a house burned and the neighbors were real close and they burned, too.

Mom wants to do Sonny's barbeque for Christmas again. So I'm going to pick it up after work. Can't beat that. Haven't gotten her anything for Christmas, I really should. I have no idea. She doesn't like anything. She has a house full of things she doesn't use. She buys anything she needs.

Got a good start for a Monday. I had a couple left over from Friday, and the guy that sits behind me gave me a few. He just didn't want to sign them.

Okay! Christmas week starts! Hope everyone has a great day.

Yeah, it was a small apt bldg. I think a total of 7 appts. They think started by cigarette smoking. I think 6-8 people went to Hosp- some burnt- some smoke inhalation. I think fire started 3:30 AM. We got there about 9, other RC people got there about 8. One married couple got burned badly enough to be transferred from local Hosp to burn unit at Grand Rapids. They were still in when we were at fire scene. At least 4 dogs . Luckily Landlord lives 100 ft away and all displaced tenants were at her house getting things settled. Land lord had other unit for tenants to go in so Red Cross didn't have to open a shelter. As I said earlier it sure makes me see how good life it for me and my family/ friends- so sad....

Mike - Think about a Terry Cloth (100% Plush/Brushed Cotton) robe for your Mom. Makes a great gift for a Mom - very warm & comfortable.

Greg - Good for you helping others volunteering w/ RC. Hard to imagine anything more painful than 3rd degree burns. Makes the hair on my neck stand straight up.

New glow plugs + harnesses arrive today. My 'Bully Dog' Ford diesel engine monitor/programmer is no longer supported by Bully Dog & it isn't working (purchased 2005). My 'Dash Boss' engine monitor is no longer supported - can't d/l any application(s) for it (purchased 2015). Both of them were expensive. $450 (Bully Dog), $175 Dash Boss. Luckily the (Bully Dog) program I currently have installed on the truck is the basic non-performance Ford stock program/tune, instead of say the high performance tune or the towing program tune - so, that's a plus. I really only want to 'monitor' performance at this point, I'm not interested in 'programming' a particular program tune. In case you're unaware of a performance program 'tune', w/ a programmable engine tuner you can change/establish shift-points, EFI/FICM fuel parameters, etc. to meet your needs. I no longer tow a large boat (16K lbs) & I have no need for high performance. Even my smaller trailers I don't need an engine tune. The diesel tractor has the TOW button I can engage which adjusts shift-points for trailer towing which is adequate & very efficient. Found two apps which I like basically for free. Both use a simple OBD2 BlueTooth connector. There are some excellent s/w developers out there who have been developing open-source s/w for engine monitors over the past 20 years who now offer their engine monitoring s/w for free. I'm all about free.

Greg - Thanks for the details, as sad as they are to hear. I'm glad the victims have somewhere to stay in the short term. Thank you for your service to the RC.

Norm - I'm glad there are other diesel engine monitoring S/W packages you can download to keep your truck on the road! 👍

Good morning guys,

Gloomy and overcast this morning, but it's warm, 50° at 11am. Not a high chance of rain today, but significant chance of rain all day tomorrow into Christmas morning.

Wow, I can't believe tomorrow is Christmas Eve, where does the time go? We're going to my BIL's house tomorrow evening for several hours, and to my youngest daughter's home earlier in the morning on Christmas Day for just a short visit. The rest of Christmas Day it will just be Momma and me and the pups. I'm good with that.

Hope everyone is having a great day and has a wonderful Holidays!

Since it's just Momma and I on Christmas Day, I asked her if she would like to have some nice Steaks for Christmas dinner and she said yes. There is a local Meat Market near us that is famous for their high quality meats. It's been open since 1904, still owned and operated by the same family. I went there today and had a couple of Porterhouses custom cut, 1&1/2-inch thick and 2&1/4 lbs. each. Merry Chriistmas to us!

Norm - LoL Believe it or not, I actually think one of those steaks will fill me up. I know Dawn can't eat a whole one, but I guarantee the dogs will get a Christmas treat from part of here's.

I see you found Herrell's in bustling downtown Imperial. Nope, didn't get my ears lowered, I've never been in the hair place across the street. Our favorite Chinese takeout place is in Imperial. Today was probably the 1st time in 10-yrs that I've purchased meat from Herrell's. They're expensive, but good, and I knew I could get exactly the cut I wanted.

Did I just recently say my wife's an incredible baker? This Oreo Cookie Cake is going to her Brother's house tomorrow evening. Has Oreo Cookie crumbs in both the Devil's Food cake and the icing. She's never made one before, but if it tastes anywhere near as good as it looks, it will be outstanding!

Chris - Your wife use a pestel & mortar to grind up the Naproxen for the recipe?

LoL
Funny you should comment on the Naproxen though. Brand new bottle, a mistaken purchase online from Sam's Club. My wife doesn't make many mistakes ordering online, but that bottle is one of them. I told her I needed an order of Sam's Brand Ibuprofen, but mistakenly she ordered those. Easily returned, but I'm gonna give them a try as a change to regularly using Ibuprofen to manage my arthritis pain.

Good morning everyone.

Got to work an hour early. I presume that's so we can get a little head start and get out extremely early. If we're here until 130 I think I won't be the only one peeved.

Chris the cake looks good. Mom didn't make any Christmas anything this year. The only thing I really miss is Special K candy. That stuff is like crack.

Got quite a few wheels done already. I'm actually planning on leaving before noon and going to Awful house. We'll see if that pans out.

I'd live in a town called Imperial. I'd want to be on Crown Drive or LeBaron Avenue. Maybe even Custom Street.

So Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone made it on to Santa's A list.
