I called it a night after listening to the 1st Period of hockey when Panthers were ahead of Oilers 3-0. Awoke this morning to find Oilers came back to win in O.T. 5-4. Quite the series.
Between the Hyundai (wheel bearing) and the a/c, I'm 1k lighter in the wallet tonight. I changed the oil in the Hyundai one month ago, and it was down 2 qts already.
Dan - Our 2017 Santa Fe only uses about 1/2-Qt every 5K-miles, but it only has 60K miles on it. Do you know why yours is using so much!

Norm - One of those weird, weird games, but entertaining.
Could have easily went the other way in O/T. The Panthers had multiple good chances early in the O/T, including one by Panther star Sam Bennett that hit the crossbar. Then the winner by the Oilers was a really weird shot that probably should never have gone in, but that's hockey! Now it's a best of 3, with 2 in Edmonton if it goes to 7.
Cool, 72°, and misting rain right now. Window installer is here right now working on our 2 replacement windows. Dawn has taken the dogs to Doggy Daycare and then she's running some errands. Glad she took the dogs as it's pretty loud in here at times and they'd be going psycho in the basement. Hoping we don't get any downpours while he's trying to get them in.
Weather looks like crap for any car show tomorrow, better on Sunday. The Father's Day Show on Sunday in St. Clair, MO is 45-miles away, not too bad though. We'll see???
Korean stuff fails. It looks pretty and works well, then it fails. Samsung products are infamous for this. The Korean car industry is basically a hobby project of the Hyundai steel works and shipping.

John - I would agree with you that Hyundai and Kia (of major manufacturers) are towards the bottom of the barrel compared to the other major foreign based manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, and Nissan. I believe the majority of Samsung electronics have not been made in China or Korea since the 2022 time frame. I have no hard statistics, but I/we have had very good luck with Samsung phones, and with our large screen HD TV's, and our refrigerator. I usually keep my phones for several years and all my Samsungs have been great. In an age where the majority of electronics are engineered to be "disposable", based on my experiences, I would not be inclined to lump Samsung into the lower quality levels of Hyundai and Kia. Just my 2-cents.

That could well be true. I do think Samsung devices are great, but they do eventually fail. They are very complicated; I repaired my Samsung microwave combo oven with a lot of new parts, but it would have been 6 years and done.

Yes, I agree 5 to maybe 8-years (if you're lucky) is probably the life expectancy for most foreign made electronics now, but what are you going to do when they're almost all made overseas. The days of washing machines, refrigerators, and TV's lasting 30-years are many moons behind us now!
The new windows are in and look great! They are much nicer with better features than the construction grade ones they replaced. The installer was great, and cleaned up well when finished. I'd recommend the window company and the window manufacturer to anyone.
One problem solved, and one created. Dawn brought the dogs back from Doggy Daycare and Maggie was definitely in pain. She would hardly put any weight on her left front paw. Dawn has rushed her to the Vet to have it checked out, probably an x-ray will be involved. Unscheduled emergency visit plus x-ray and their professional diagnosis probably equals $300 or more. AiYiYi!
Hyundai prior to about 2008-2010 were crappy, after that, reviews on them got much better, enough that I would recommend them to others, behind Toyota and Honda. I learned my lesson, no more. I would buy another Samsung phone, or a big screen TV, but that's about it. I'll be heading to Homecoming in the morning with my buddy, rain is out of the forecast, so, hopefully a good cruise is ahead.
Dawn and Maggie just got home about 10-minutes ago. I'm glad they got home when they did because another weather cell just rolled in with heavy rain and lightning.
Vet examined Maggie and they did do an x-ray which showed nothing was broken. The Vet did not find anything else. All the Vet could say was watch her over the weekend and try to restrict any horseplay with Monty, and not to let her jump down from the couch or other heights. Bring her back next week if she isn't better, or if we're not at least seeing improvement.
I'm so, so, so tired of rain, it just won't stop. I guess I should be counting my lucky stars that what we're getting right now didn't roll in while the guy was trying to get the windows in.
We just got deluged here. I went out in it to clear a few gutters and get my rain barrel siphon going.
Earlier this afternoon, there was a knock on my door and it was a septic tank pumper man. His firm is paid by my town to pump the tanks as part of the sewer bill as we have a gray water sewer system. I hung out with him while he did it, learned a lot, and tipped him a 20.
Bright and sunshiney out but who knows what is lurking. It was nice out yesterday then early evening it clouded up and we had buckets. I may putter around outside for awhile to see if I want to get into something big.
Chris the windows sound great. Now to have a hail storm knock out the rest of them. Whoa, let's not hope for that. It sounds like Maggie was playing and landed wrong on her leg. I hope this doesn't put the kybosh on taking them there again.
Hope Dan has a good day at the show. I've never entered a car in a real car show. Took my convertible to Summit one time years ago, and parked way in the back where there were no cars. I was walking around and looked over, and some guys in a hoopy Buick parked right next to me, with millions of other spaces close by, and all their friends were there talking and leaning on my car. Haven't taken a car since.
Okay, laundry. That will be a good way to get things started. Awful house for lunch. Have a great weekend everyone.
On/Off again intermittent showers all day. Got in ~1.5hrs hedge pruning then headed to golf club - they were having a pool party w/ a band. Of course, hardly anywhere was there w/ the unpredictable weather. Food was good, it didn't rain while I was there. Think I'll watch a movie prior to the Oilers going Kurt Vonnegut on the Panthers tonight.
Had a long 3 or 4 paragraph post, but this frickin site somehow got hung up and I lost it all.
I will just post the pics I was going to post with captions. Did want to say to Norm, wish you could come over and watch the game with me!
Mike - Here’s the new window above the kitchen sink.
New window in the kitchen dining area.
Dawn is off to her oldest daughter's, oldest child's (Remington) b-day party. We call her Remi for short. She is going to be the spitting image of Dawn!
Hot Grandma off to the b-day party. Still gorgeous at almost 60!
There's a new trend of naming children after arms companies. It's weird.
John - Her bio Dad was in the Army and a gun nut, unfortunately. I say unfortunately because he blew his brains out when she was only 2. She never really knew him, so sad! WTF, I'm putting up way too many sad faces here! Lucky I'm sitting at my favorite greasy spoon waiting on takeout, sucking down a 32oz Miller High Life!

Sucks. I know a Remi and her brother Colt. Their parents are gun nuts, but, their dad, my friend, really found the Lord and preaches these days, so he is in a good way.
Fortunately, it looks like I won't have kids, otherwise I'd be tempted to name them Zastava, Kalashnikov, Fortuna-Suhl, Benelli, Beretta, Uberti, or maybe even Fabrique-Nationale-Herstal.

I don't know why you'd say fortunately, you're a good guy and have a good head on your shoulders! I didn't get it right until I was 50! Find ya a younger bride and go at it like rabbits!
Ugh. What a lackluster game by Oilers. Panthers seriously outplayed the Oilers.
Agree 100%, the Oilers looked like they were playing in slow motion compared to Florida. I love watching Marchand play for 2 reasons, he looks like he's giving 150% every shift, and he's a feisty little dude.
I would name my son Douglas Silverado. Douglas after my favorite airplane and Silverado after my pickup. My daughter would be either Roma or Imogen. A guy I used to work with named his sons Ace and Spike. If I were going to name a kid after a gun, I could name him Beretta. Old people might think he was named after Robert Blake. Not quite so old people would think he was named after a Chevrolet. Hey if that were the case his sister could be Corsica.
Chris the windows look nice. With the stunning view you have my idea would be to put stained glass in them. Or paint a mural on your neighbor's house. Dawn still has it. Hope Maggie is doing better.
Got a few little things done today. I started working outside then went in for a minute, and the sky opened up. Then the sun came out again. Eh, I'd still call the day a success. Tomorrow I'm not planning much because by the time I get done with Walmart most of the afternoon is gone. Gotta end early tomorrow night because we're doing overtime Monday morning.
Rain removed from forecast, today. Going to get a couple hours of pruning in then head to driving range for a couple hours. Club formed a Monday morning (9am) men's golf club tournament/league I'll start playing in beginning tomorrow - format changes weekly
