Missing shift linkage

Looks like I’m missing the shift linkage that goes from the transmission to the steering wheel gear shifter. I’m hoping someone has a spare or that they sell this part still.

Read posts #132 thru 135 again.
I explained it as best I could. The basic idea is that the lever on the trans should be all the way to the rear against the internal stop , at wide open throttle
And all the way forward at idle.

Thanks! I will try to work up a mount for it. Maybe when I have it mounted it will make more sense.

Does anyone know what years the shift linkage gear rod would work on the 64 Olds Dynamic 88? I see one on eBay but it shows 61-62.

61-62 linkage is different.
The Olds parts book shows this rod as part number 380052 and it fits 63 -64 Hydramatic with column shift Except F-85.

Bellcrank

I just wanted to verify how this bellcrank works. Would I be correct with the top arrow having the carburetor linkage push the bellcrank in that direction?

When does the spring come into play. I'm puzzled by how this works.

Does this shift linkage look it was modified to fit this transmission? My dad put this together but I don’t know if he modified the shift linkage to fit. I lost the original but I got another shift linkage from someone but it’s not the same.

This is the one I have now. It doesn’t look like the one above had that bend in it.
