Introductions
There are some file size restrictions. Apparently that does not preclude high quality pictures though as I have seen quite a few on this site. I think jpg pictures are higher quality than say....gif pictures, or something like that. I am out of my realm when it comes to internet.

Those are really cool cars, looking good.
I have a 4 door wagon and a red with black top convertible so I'm not biased, everybody knows that is the best color for a convertible.
Had a '66 Buhog Electra 4 door hardtop beater in high school for a little bit. It had some sort of speed sentinel speedometer because I remember I tried to convince a cop it couldn't of been going that fast or it would of stopped it.

Both cars have the speed sentinel speedos. The Holiday is loaded with just about everything - Comfortron, Autronic eye, cruise, wonder bar radio, rear window defogger, cornering lights, 6-way seat, remote mirror, tilt-tele column, posi rear. I just discovered, click on the thumbnails and you will see a larger picture.

Evening folks noobcakes here with a not so noob car. Me and my brother have been working on a 1962 dynamic 88 for a few months and i bought it out from under him today, we got it running after 20+ years of sitting. All i'm lacking to get it road worthy (mechanically) is a master cylinder and some tires. Its now a patina finish which once started its life out as a gold color with matching interior. The condition its in i dont know if i am going to go original or mild custom i.e. different paint color, wheels and possibly interior color. Its a 3spd on the column 394 that sounds down right beautiful! Nice to meet you all i'll snap off some pics in the next few days to show off a little.
****guess this intro should have gone in the intro section

Welcome. Look forward to seeing the pics.
Its a nice feeling to bring back something to life thats been sitting so long! Sounds like you are not too far from getting it road worthy. Good luck.

Names Jarrod, I'm 21 and I have owned too may cars to list. I am usually a Mazda rotary only person, but recently stumbled across a trade for my daily beater 90 Ranger, I traded it plus $800 for a 78 Cutlass Supreme.
The car came with a 305, but the previous owner swapped it for a Chevy 350. It is a pretty quick car, it ran a 13.9 on street tires, and it has a 3:10 gear. Specs on the car are as follows. Chevy 350 4 bolt main, Vortec heads, Edelbrock intake and carb, very aggressive cam, long tube headers, a custom exhaust, and a B&M shift kit for the turbo 400 trans.
My plans are to turn it into a street/strip car. I'm going to rebuild the engine, stroke it to a 388, redo all the previous owners work, fix all the odds and ends, spend alot of time and money, and put a 3:73 gear under it and hopefully bring to a low to mid 12 car with MT drag radials in the back and full interior.
Oh and I live in south eastern Kentucky.

New Olds man, possibly...
Greetings, Olds people. I am Cam (like in camshaft. Good gearhead name; my brother's name is Rod). Merchant Marine engineer for 24 years so far, and a lifelong gearhead. I know a little bit about a lot of stuff but am an expert in nothing.
I may be an Olds owner in the spring, a '63 F 85 Cutlass (I'll post details and questions I have in the Cutlass forum) that my brother in law bought a few months ago.
I currently have a '70 Firebird, base model but well optioned, new paint and interior that will have to go if I get the Cutlass. There's just not enough room or time for both...kinda like women.
I took pics of the Cutlass yesterday, but it will be a couple/few days before I can post; having trouble with the camera.
Later!

Wow, lots of guys to welcome, glad to see you all here.
Cam, glad you are keeping the Oldsmobile, and I bet I am the only one on the site that understands your username, Retired Chief USN.
John you have a really nice looking Cutlass, I like the color.
Al, that big convertible is really in good shape, I owned a '69 Delta 88 until a few years back and really like the lines of the B and C bodies that year.
Jerrod, sorry to hear that your Oldsmobile is chevy powered but hope you enjoy it in spite of that fact.
Chris, been watching your posts about your car on other threads, glad you're here.

The Classic Oldsmobile site is having a growth spurt, what a great bunch of cars. Of course I like the big cars. That is a great Convetible Al, you could have a party in that car complete with a band. Welcome to everyone

I actually stumbled onto this site totally by accident. I was searching for some info when one of the links brought me here.
I joined this forum and immediately left the Yahoo Groups forum. There is NO action on that site whatsoever.
This site will keep me occupied for hours, like MercuryCougar.net does for my Cougaritis.

Hello to every one my name is Arturo 30yrs. old and I just got a 64' Jetstar I, Im hopping to have it ready for the summer to take the family for a nice cruse, it needs some engine & paint job but over all Im happy it brings back memories for me and the wife, since I had one back in the days you know, single guy with a nice car hahahah.
gearhead, here is an official welcome to our site since we have already corresponded on another thread already.
Arturo, You can still have fun with a cool car even though you are no longer single, just don't acknowledge the admiring looks from the cute girls if you are with your wife. Always keep the peace. Welcome to our site.

hi I have a 62 starfire
that my grand mother bought in 72 with a whopping 14000 miles on it. The starfire was her pride and joy! in 97 her eyes got bad and it wasnt safe for her to drive anymore so she sold it to my cousin. it ended up getting stored in a barn for about eight of the next ten years. last summer he came to the realization that he needed to either fix it or sell it. lucky me he decided to sell it. so the car now has a little over 114000 miles on it and its as cool as ever. What a joy to drive.

I would not mind going by another handle but I have used this one so long no one would know me. The 78 malibu where the name comes from is long gone but the name stays.
my name is Bob and im a 20 year old college student. im a born and raised Chicagoan, and i have a passion for these classic American cars, which i gladly inherited from my Dad. its because of his guidance that i was able to point out the differences between a Buick and an Olds in pictures before i could talk, and its because of him teaching me to drive on his '76 Caddy Coupe DeVille when i was 13, that ive developed such a love of these American land barges. i own a 1971 Oldsmobile 98 LS, and i have a more detailed introduction in the Ninety Eight section, as i thought it was appropriate to post it in there, lol.
i am very excited to have found this forum and i am looking forward to becoming a part of this community!

Dan, from the small amount of time ive spent on here already, you and your son, and everyone else ive interacted with so far, seem to be wonderful people. i think its really great that you and your son can share this hobby. thats the way my dad and i are, he just doesnt have the time (or the computer skills haha) to go onto these forums. but thats why i do it, so to be able to network and "meet" people that are a part of this hobby, and to try and find events for us to go to, and clubs to be a part of.
and you drive Oldsmobiles, so youre ok in my book!

You may find membership in the local Oldsmobile Club of America chapter rewarding. Depending upon the membership there could be less interest in the B body cars but still, you might like it.
I agree Dan, Our OCA chapter has club runs and car shows. We hosted the the 2006 National show. All great fun. I have been a member for 8 years.
