Introductions
Greetings; My name is Bruce, as you can see by my sgnature below I made a BIG mistake about 3 years ago
Anyway I would like another Olds. The economy being what it is I have to sell one to get another. Right now the market is way off so I may end up waiting a while. ( being on a fixed income hurts sometimes

Welcome
Welcome aboard,
Sorry for your loss, hang in there and the Olds gods will shine on you again.
A long long time ago, we used to go camping in Pisgah on Court House Creek near some beautiful falls. It was way down in a valley below Devils Court House.
A beautiful spot if there ever was one.

Hello, my name is Ron. I am 44 years old. I live in sunny California. I had my first experience in an Oldsmobile 442 when I was 16 years old. A friend of mine was borrowing his Grandmother's car for the night. We were going for a cruise. I could not help but notice the floor shifter having two positions. It was a dual gate shifter. I think they use to call it a his and hers shifter.
Anyhow, that thing hauled! Scared they living #@! out of me. I never forgot that experience.
Now I own a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S convertible. I could not afford a 442. However, I enjoy this car just as much. I have been working on for the last year. I have put quite of bit of time and money into it. It's almost where I want it. Who I am trying too fool!

Welcome to our site guys. Sorry I missed your appearances, had some technical difficulties over the weekend. I usually try to be one of the first to welcome new members. At any rate, enjoy your stay here and have some fun with Oldsmobile!

My name is Bob and I'm from Spokane, WA. Seems like a nice friendly site here and I'm seeing some familiar names from other Olds sites. Here is a picture of my 442...a ways to go yet.

Hi, my name is Bret. I'm 43 and live up here in Calgary, Alberta. Not much to do in the winter up here except play hockey and restore cars (if you've got a heated garage). I grew up in a house hold of mechanics (Dad, Uncles, brothers) and apprenticed as a bodyman, but somehow ended up in the Oil & Gas industry (who knew). Anyway, like the site, very friendly bunch, lots of good info. My current project is a 56 Olds Ninety Eight 4dr land yacht. Love this old car. Just started with the restoration. One of my other hobbies is photography so I have a ton of photos of my car as I tear it down just in case anyone is looking for a photo of a part etc. off a 56 era Olds.
Pleasure to meet you folks

I got the Olds bug when my grandmother came to live with us back in 1981. She had a 72 cutlass, Gold with pinstripe around the hood, white painted top and white interior. Loved that car. Used to borrow it a lot. When she passed the car was taken by other family members and never saw it again. Ever since then I've bought and sold many Oldsmobiles and parts for them. I've had a 71, 72 S, 72 supreme, 68 Supreme, a 69 442 which I restored back to original condition , down to every detail. I drove many miles finding the correct engine and parts for that car. Sold it a few years ago for a lot of $. A 1980 Olds Firenza (Starfire) which was my dad's. Now I'm working on a 68 Cutlass manual trans car which is a frame off and quite the project. Sometimes I've wondered what I got myself into. It's coming along and at this point doesn't look like much but is driveable. I would have to say that I'm a bit obsessed with these cars, don't know why. I guess I'm always trying to get back my grandmother's 72.
Kev,
Welcome to the site many of us are in the 10 step program but have not found the cure yet, most likley because we don't want to. To much fun working on the Olds and meeting and sharing ideas with other Oldsolholics like yourself

You mean I can actually post on this site?
Hello, I am Tom, and I live near Decatur, il. I bought my 70 Cutlass Supreme in 1995. It was a 350. Just sold that engine, and I'm going to be swapping in a 455 from a 72 vista cruiser. Will likely be asking you all for help - I'm always ready to get wisdom from those who have gone down a path before me. I tried litterally for six months to get a login for realoldspower dot com. Still no response.... Glad I stumbled across this site tonight, it appears to be a lot more friendly, which I like. Thanks. Tom
Super 88
Hello new here. I own a 1962 Oldsmobile Super 88, 4 door sedan, 46,000 org. miles. The car is pretty much origanal. I bought the car in 2003. The car had sat in a garage since 1978 (I actually had to cut a tree down to get the car out).
Since I bought the car I had the engine rebuilt, wich I wish I had rebuilt other stuff first like the carb, trans, generator, fuel system, brakes, ect. Don't have the money for it now. O well my three little kids ar worth more now. Back to the car I'm third owner, my grandparent's remember tho owner and the car. I guess he owed the second owner money and gave him the car and it sat in the garage since then. Good for me.
The car came with the Protect-O-Plate, owners man. other stuff from the first owner. So that's the story about me and the car. Also own a 1970 Monte Carlo.
Will

Tom,
Interesting story. I heard of a guy that found a '29 sedan in a field with a tree growing right in the middle! The car had a soft top that had long ago rotted away and the tree just grew right through the old rotten floor boards and up up up. Sounds like you got yourself a deal on your car.
