Be sure you don't have an imposter z-bar in your car. If so, the clutch pedal will never be correct because the clocking is wrong. Had this issue with my car and could not understand why the clutch pedal felt so wonky.
Imposter on the left, real deal on the right.

Scrappie about the sweeps. I don't know if you visited the PUI website but this from their site located at:
https://www.puiinteriors.com/index.p...-weatherstrips
"Each kit comes ready to install. Most kits are also available in either Standard or Original. Standard have what some folks like to consider “improvements” to the originals, or at the very least, modifications encouraged by design or materials. However, our Original Windowfelts® are produced with materials supplied to us by the original supplier to GM, and we custom order this material to match original specifications and profiles."

Your metal work was both amazing and inspiring! I have been pondering the filling of the weld seams since I put the quarters on mine ! Your lead work looked great , I have never done leading and am extremely worried about putting more heat on the sheet metal , my plan is/ was duraglass or all metal then a skim of filler .
I may give lead a shot now lol
i truly took to heart your comment about having the luxury to walk away for a bit and come back to it, also the rotisserie! I don’t have one but I’d I ever do another I will lol
speed on brother

I was trying to stay as true to vintage by using lead and as little plastic as possible but with the stuff available these days, lead may be obsolete in some cases? I found the lead had a little bit of a learning curve but not too steep. The important part is tinning the metal, keeping everything as clean as possible and heat control of course. There is a lot of good video on YouTube. The lead does require a fair amount of heat. I used a plumbers torch with a diffuser tip that spread the heat rather than concentrating in one area.
I used filler on top to smooth out so there still is a use for that and always will be.
I don't think it would be as much fun if I was doing this for a living. The added pressure to meet deadlines and expectations would cause me take a different approach to things?
The rotisserie is a must have in this case!

putting together some shiny stuff and some green stuff
I restored the headlight bases and while at it, installed new head light buckets, T3 headlights and trim. I bead blasted, primed and painted then installed new adjusters and hdw. I also mixed up a concoction of sealer and green paint to get the color of OEM material, whatever that is in order to install body plugs.

I learn something everyday. Word to the wise: I bought the kit from ILT (buckets and trim rings) 2/4 buckets were wrong. I used my old ones to complete the job. I was thinking of returning but I’m thinking I would get the same if another kit was ordered. I’m thinking the people putting the kit together dont know about 4 different buckets?

I learned about this when I refreshed my headlight assemblies too. A tab was broken off one of the buckets; when I tightened the screw down, the bucket would rotate and slip off the screw, I contacted OldsPackRat, and it was then, I learned about the different letters on each bucket and their correct location on the car. OldsPackRat had a good, used, OEM bucket (with the correct letter) I was able to secure. Highly recommend OldsPackRat, (and joesW31 too). These guys know a wad about these cars, as do many others here.
