No inspection - Technically 100% OK but I need a sound measurement for my glasspacks. May 6th.
Idle CO at 750-800rpm in park is at 4.8vol%, needs to be at most 4.5%:

Still looking into that until May 5th, too.
Other than that: Paperwork is done, just the noise level fields for standing and drive by are still empty.
Ed: For the picture-addicted

Guys:
The rear window deck panel showed up today. Yeah, more orange rust dust for dinner. No wonder I'm down a couple of pounds, there are no carbs in rust dust, even w/ a paper mask the taste is bad. I need to replace approx. 4" up each side of the sail panel as well, good thing I took metal shop in school. LOL
Thanks Ron

Don't ask me how I got my a$$ out of the car to take that picture, it's even narrower than it looks...

Took the fuel pump off, determined that the timing chain has a metric ton of slop. Time for a new one. I had one lying around, so all went well... right up until I dropped my 9/16" top into the exposed oil pan. -.- I'm back on track now, though.
It made me look closer at my fan, which is fixed, no clutch. It's been worked over by someone else at some point, since it has shims that look suspiciously home-made. Would I be better off with an electric fan? Wouldn't I need some kind of fan control beyond the heat sensor currently on the block?
As it is now, I can't replace the alt fan belt without removing the water pump pulley, which is really odd, and seems wrong.
Picture of the fan, shim and water pump (which looks different from the other water pump I have):

Electric fans will free up about 5 HP. There is a controller available that hooks into your heater return line (or any line you want), to monitor temp. You could also make a custom setup using their parts. I have not used one, but a friend of mine did, and is happy with the results. It installed on the passenger's side wheelhouse. I do not know any particulars of the product beyond what I stated.
He put the fans from a 93 Fleetwood in a 93 Roadmaster Wagon. The fans bolted in like they were made for the car (essentially the same car at the core support), and the wiring was a snap. Check with Tom Wingo on the longroof forum.

Cheers! Both of you.
In relation to the thread, I buttoned up my engine, fiddled with the Q-jet secondary spring tension (to eliminate bog), and fixed the lip on my front wheel well. Furthermore, I mocked up a paint scheme for my rims, shown below. Opinions?

With a mock-up tape:

And what is the difference between these two, apart from the weight? I'm using the one on the right at the moment:

Finally ripped off the original, very aged vinyl top on my red 98. I was pleasantly surprised to see only a few rust spots and not even very bad ones. The majority of the roof is in great shape still. Can't wait to have the body work done and put on the new top.

Passed a one-time loudness test: 92 db(A) standing, 77 dB(A) drive-by. I hope I can let them have a final look at my aimed headlights and fetch my paperwork in a few hours...
Also had the foto shooting and review for appraisal done this morning, paperwork is also done at the moment...
Phew.

So as usual, I have fallen into another "I may as well do this too" scenario. I started getting my red 98 ready for the body shop to take care of the damage from my recent encounter with a wild turkey. That simply required pulling off and apart the header panel. I have since also pulled out the front bumper filler panels, ripped off the vinyl top (shown in the pics a few posts above) and will be removing the rear windows over the next few days or so. Since the roof will be painted, I'm also now considering having the hood and trunk painted as well since the whole top of this car is pretty badly faded.
It's amazing just how easy it is to just keep saying "as long as I'm doing this, I may as well do this too!"
