This weekend I, installed new distributor and wires, went thru all the wiring under the hood and dash and redo it the way I like it, installed the after market AC delete box on the firewall and and rewired for the blower motor, ordered front and rear seat covers, seat foam, speaker package tray, carpet, headliner and various other little pieces I wanted. YearOne has a weekend 30% off promotion and I needed the stuff so....................! Also have a new RPM intake and 600 Holley to install as time permits. Exhaust is next.

Drove mine today too. Just some errands.
Last night I found a squeak that I have been chasing for two seasons. I had had it. I pulled int he garage and starting rocking the car. It sounded worse than me. Creaky and cranky. I got out the WD-40 and basically covered the A-arms. I'm pretty sure the squeak was coming from the passenger side top of the spring area where it makes contact. Anyway, I drive it and it's like a church in there. Like a new car. I love it!
Meanwhile today my daughter announces she wants to go grocery shopping which I am all for. So she's standing there looking at me funny. I say, what? She says I want to take the Maroon car. That's the 66 Toro. I didn't even flinch. I said sure, absolutely. She and my other daughter drive off and it was so cool to watch them catch the bug. I never thought I would see it. They actually like the Old School cars. As long as they don't have to gas them or oil them. LOL! A friend called me and told me he just saw her. He thought I was in the passenger seat. He said she was driving it like she owned it. He said she had her arm out the window hanging down. It's a great gift I can give my kids, the way it used to be.

My 70 will be going to the family barbeque today. On Saturday I went to a car show in Norwich N.Y. The ride was about 100 mile round trip. It was the second time the car has been out due to the weather not being the best here in the northeast. Happy Memorial Day!

I just installed Thornton's exhaust manifolds on my 350 so i can installed 2 1/4" dual exhaust pipes (head pipes, tailpipes & hangers) that i bought from Motor City Supercars/Inline Tube. Mufflers are Dynomax Super Turbos. Fits like a glove and sounds great.

Cut off old exhaust, took off manifolds, only one hole needed drilled and tapped. Getting ready to order "Pypes" 2.5in down pipes that are supposed to fit big or small block Olds manifolds, can't wait for this project to unfold!

Started cleaning up the rear window channel after removing the glass the other day. Overall it's in good shape but there's a little bit of rust the shop will deal with mostly. A couple of the rivets for the trim are gone so I'll have to replace them before putting the glass back in. She's almost ready to go in the shop now, just a few more little things to do and prep before then.

- I need to remove the trunk weatherstrip since the trunk and opening will all be repainted at the same time as the roof.
- Also need to pull off the pinstripe on the RH quarter since the tops of the quarters will also get painted. I'm relocating the strip a little lower to give the shop a little more working room and because I never liked it where it was anyway.

Guys:
Just bought a stripped and rusted out 67 Cutlass tub/chassis to get the upper seat belt mounts and a trans tunnel patch for $100.00 from a local guy, hopefully I can get my money back when I scrap it out. There is really not much else left to part out, it had been buried up to the chassis in dirt for years, so even the normal items like control arms and such are in too bad a shape to sell. It's a shame someone would let it get this bad rather than sell it to someone else, I've tried for a couple years to buy it from him, but he stripped it all down and sold it for scrap metal and copper value, a damn shame!

I installed front and rear brake pads and replaced the regular brake rotors to a drilled brake rotors on my 2002 Bravada.

This week, I got to start the old girl up and drive it onto a trailer, pulled the front seat and carpet out. dropped driving shell off at work to finish prepping jams and roof for primer and paint. pulled a bunch of dents out of the hood ( I hate flat panel work )

Got heater blower motor fan in the mail, works great, reinstalled exhaust manifolds, Pypes down pipes came in the mail, drivers side one is too big to fit the exit on the manifold, some rigging will have to be done.
Got a Hurst T handle for my factory regular auto shifter, of course it doesn't have the right adapter so more rigging, its on and fits in the right direction.

Didn't get anything done to the Cutlass today due to 9 year old daughters 1 hr 20 min softball game lasting 3 hours and they won 27 to 26!
But I did get most of my interior in the mail today, couple things back ordered and some coming separate.

I installed a Stewart Warner Vintage Tachometer in my 54. It is the one with wings on the face. Looks perfect in the car. Oil and filter change tomorrow and a bath. Then probably put the top down and take my wife for a little ride.

Haha, you are partially correct. The weather was not very good and the turnout was much smaller then expected. The show was for members of the Petroleum Club of Anchorage, they are located in midtown between 36th Ave and Benson.

Our Olds won the "OPEC" award, i found that amusing...

As funny as it may seem, the Olds sips gas compared to my daily driver.

I'm used to driving my 8 MPG V10 Ford Excursion 4x4 35-50 miles daily, now that is a fun monthly fuel bill.

So far the Olds has been doing rather well i think...I've been tracking fill ups like i do with all my stuff.

Took the Cutlass onto I-80 to attend a car show. When I got there a big storm was blowing in. Everybody was stepping and fetching to get the heck out of there. I went back on I-80 going home and got nailed by the rain. I actually laughed out loud because all my windows were down and there wasn't a thing I could do about it. Car performed flawlessly at 80.

Reinstalled the passenger fenderwell after the new heater box project.
Installed the "PYPES" down pipes and they actually fit with a little persuading.
I didn't want to but there is no way around a trip to the muffler shop for the rest of the pipe to the mufflers, I don't think I could buy enough bends and 45s to get it right myself where they will use 1 piece of pipe with a couple of angles to fit.

Removed someore paint from the jamb area started to. Work the roofs dents out got a bit depressed when, I realized that the previous body guy screwed holes into the roof to pull dents ugh!!! Just more led work needed I guess.

As you know I Got my down pipes on Sunday, today I got 2.5 pipe back to the rear end with Thrush Welded Mufflers.
I couldn't be more happy the sound is amazing!

I spent about 12-14 hours finding that I had the bowl gasket installed wrong over the last 4 days over the enrichment plate rather than under it. Corrected it at 630 AM today and drove the beauty to work. What a joy! Floats along the roads like no cars of today. I took my two youngest to school it it too. My 8 year old rode in the front seat. She thinks its such a treat as she has only been in the back seat of all cars her whole life due to airbags.

Love the 87 Cutlass. My oldest cannot wait to get home from school today and drive it again as well. It's his pretty soon.

A couple of weeks ago i tore all the air stuff out of the car.
Today I hooked a relay to the heater blower and used the factory switch in the dash to activate it and it works great.
Relays are really good to use!

Pulled the old small port sp2p off the engine tonite to my surprise the heads are ported and polished!
Not that its a professional $5000 job but there is smooth shiny work all down the ports.
I think the new RPM intake is really going to make a difference verses the half size ports of the old intake.

Rebuilt the 16 to 1 manual steering box on my W30, had a time finding the seals and the correct rag joint plus it looked terrible when I started did not think it would clean up and look good enough but you never know until you try, cost about 45 dollars in parts. Pics coming.
