Rolled out wires to the rear for amp, amp remote, rca, additional rear turn signals,
ran the amp positive to the battery,
wired in a fuse,
put in the radio,
charged the battery,
padded the floor,
test fit the rear carpet,
touched up the rear wheel wells with underbody coating,
replaced all window cranks with non-wiggling ones

finished up the rebuilt power steering pump in the burgundy 98. No leaks, no noise and smooth, one-finger steering again!

Also backed the car in the garage and pulled off the rear wheels. Hoping to replace the shoes, hardware and drums over the next couple of nights.

got to do the passenger's side rear brakes last night....I almost forgot how much I love doing drum brakes

Should be able to get the driver's side done and everything adjusted over the next couple of nights.

Nice.

Speaking of NAPA. I picked up a rebuilt power steering pump and of course didn't scrutinize it at the store (like a fool). After finally looking it over at home, I noticed that the reservoir is actually a little beat up. I'm wondering if it's worth giving the store a hard time about it since this is going in my show car or just ordering a new reservoir and adding it to the rebuilt pump.

Carpet in, kick panels with speakers in, sill plates in, rear bench in.

...only to find out that half of my front seat belts are missing.

Car show in the morning and it's raining

Car has been setting undetailed most of the winter and the show is 60 + miles away and now it's raining big time....So I washed it in the pouring down rain then dried it in the garage, added the vintage water cooler for cool factor and called it a day. First show for the year......Tedd

Just finished installing a Lares Power Steering gear box on the car for the second time. First one would turn easy to the right but bind up when turning to the left. After numerous times of bleeding the air out,I decided to call Lares. After telling him all the front end parts had been replaced with an alignment ,I felt I had a bad gear box. So they shipped me a new one and now it is installed and working good.

Fixed leaky power steering hose, tightened header bolts to eliminate a leak, tightened everything on my carb, readjusted the adjustable part-throttle, and redid my left disc brake that was binding and getting warm. All that's left is the alignment now, since the car still pulls a bit to the left.

I'm giving the Eastwood Carb renew a shot on my current carb rebuild...seems to match the color pretty well...it darkens quit a bit as it dries so I think I ended up a little on the heavy side

i worked on the tailgate on the 64 f85 wagon.. talk about hard!!! the car has been sitting outside for over 20 years, they did not make the inside cover to be removed with the tailgate stuck shut. the bottom row of screws were barely showing and at a downward angle..took about 3 hrs but finally got it taken apart without damaging anything and got it to open.. all the parts looked pretty good the window rollers were just rusted to the channel..it was good to finally get the tailgate opened..

I finished repairing the back window channel, had to weld in some new metal. Also finished welding in the floor patch and removed the inside plenum for the A/C. Kinda hard to see with all the bright metal.

if the tail lights are working but the brake lights are not , maybe check the brake switch on the brake pedal itself? Maybe it's stuck in?

its good, power on both sides of the brake light switch when depressed, i have power at the fuse, fuses are good and i have power going into the turn signal switch but not coming out after reading it leads me to believe that is the issue.

Spent the last days cleaning the floor from the under side, sealing some seams and the floor drain plugs from below, cleaning everything up a bit.

Messy work without seeing any real progress - but that's got to be done too, I guess.

Not much left to do but waiting for my seat belts and a little here, a little there.

Detailing, detailing, detailing...

Greasing joints, emergency brake mechanics, door and hood hinges, running around the car in circles and doing all the little stuff while waiting for last parts to arrive.

Got my newly painted wheels and tires installed and finally went for the first drive of the season! She weathered a very cold winter with no signs of trouble. Still working on the trim for the wheels but so far a huge improvement

Drove the burgundy 98 to work the last 2 days and it was great! Changed the oil and adjusted the rear brakes and parking brake too. May still bring the brakes up a bit more but cautious about not going too far of course.
