Yanked my engine, repaired cracked starter mounting holes. Had to weld the ear and retap. Had order new flexplate as it was a casualty of the disaster. Hopefully get it back together this week.

Brush the snow off of my 2002 Bravada and went back inside to go to sleep and wake up for the next snow storm.

Installed flexplate, finished aligning the starter, and got the engine back in the car. Hopefully get it fired back up tomorrow. I'm just not as fast as I used to be.

Well, yesterday I did a bunch of **** and then after a long day I did a FAT burnout, and the car died 200ft after that. Can't get it on again.

Timing chain is ok, coil is new, and there's no goddamn spark. I think those damn points are acting up.

Sounds like pretty good progress for a day Eric!

Mine's been in my storage garage for the past 4 months. Keep hoping I'm going to be able to get it out for a ride, but it seems to keep snowing here every three days since Christmas.

New tires for the Misterss

Had my new three inch wide whites mounted on the Mistress, went with a radial for more comfort on long trips.I only have 25 miles on the but I like them better already. I plan on selling my old tires which are in great shape on Crags list but if anyone is interested here I have 4 -760/15 bias ply tires with 2 9/16 wide white walls for sale $50 a tire.....Tedd

Here are a few shots of the old gal with her new tires and a couple of wheels and tires from the past. One of last two was my old chrome reversed rims and then the bias ply that I replaced with the new radials, not a whole lot of difference between 2-9/16 wide whites and 3 inch but I though I give them a try. I haven't got her skirts on yet please forgive her naked sides...Tedd

Looks awesome Ted!!

Well I got the Cutlass fired up, cam broke in, sounds like a sewing machine. Tomorrow I'm going to start cleaning her up for this weekend. Luckily it's been in the 70's here.

I have a 65 cutlass that I had bought a rebuild kit for the front end. I was waiting for warmer weather and some help from my kids to do the work. I took a long weekend trip with the wife and some friends to do a little gambling. When I got back ,I noticed that my engine was warm. I called my one son and asked if he took the car out,and said no. Called the other 2 ,with same answer. I was told to look around garage and see if anything is missing. Yes there was. My box of parts were not on the bench there were on my car. For a retirement gift, they took the car and had a shop rebuild the front end and align it. Kids and wife, you gotta love them. And I do.

Feeling a little bad that I post projects that are being done at a friends shop - but due to some spinal issues - I cannot do very much of this work now...

but here is the old gas tank, non-functioning fuel gauge sender and gauge -

Put on rebuilt carb

Had Mitsubishi heat pump installed in Garage to keep cutlass (and me) climate controlled. Put on carb that the Barker Gang Garage in Colorado rebuilt for me. Dying to try it out but fuel fitting wont stop leaking.

Wow, glad to hear your busy Ron. I dusted mine off and went to the Seethearts and Orphans Car Show. There were 2 other 67's there, both 442's and very nice.

66 Cutlass

Guys:
Tore the doors apart and took them to an old school body guy I found in the middle of resume speed Ohio, an older guy w/ years of experience . He works mostly w/ lead and had a 69 Cutlass and a 66 Chevelle in the shop at the time. I plan on getting the doors, fenders and trunk lid done and put in storage, that way I don't have a HUGE bill when it goes to him later. I found a perfect hood from a fellow member earlier this month less than 3 hours from me, perfect reason for a road trip and a chance to catch up on my Gregg Allman music collection.
Thanks Ron

Hooked up the heater core hoses, filled up radiator, checked everything ten times to be sure and let the engine run for half an hour for the first time in around 3 weeks. Took a 20 minute video...

...Only to find out that my GoPro cam was not switched on when I checked the SD card at home.

I took the doors to Ed to get a price on repairing them, he started grinding on then right away. I then asked him about a rough estimate for the work, I may not be able to really afford your type of work. He replied " Son the only way I can give you a price is to see what it looks like underneath, If you can't afford it, you can take your doors w/ you and not owe me a penny for my labor" It was then I realized I had found the right guy to do the work on my Cutlass. He takes pride in his work and told me that it is not really about the money, " Everything I own is paid for for this keeps me busy, he is expensive but affordable, if that makes sense. The more we talked, the more people we had in common, he knew my father back in the day and many other people I knew, he told me I could come to his shop anytime and check on the progress of the work and before any major steps forward he wants his customers to see the quality of work being done before anything gets covered up.
Thanks Ron

Today, I stared at it sitting in the garage, under a cover, counting down the weeks until this frozen tundra thaws out! It's been below zero for 42 out of the 58 days of 2014 so far... Minnesota stinks!!!

My youngest son got home from an extended business trip and came over. Took him out to the shop to show him the new addition and after checking it out he wanted to hear it run. We ended up letting it "run" for about an hour..... around some beautiful backroads. Gotta love the Hill Country in this time of year!
