Morning all, another good day here with temps going towards 90

Minette is a little cutie isn't she. She sure did enjoy the cruise in the 98 that's for sure.

I didn't even know your hat made sounds or anything like that Blue Learn something new everyday.

Mike I'm not a big fan of VB myself. There are alot of different beers over here and I only like a few local ones

I think I will go do some more work in the yard, seems like it never ends

Have a good day ya'll

Happy Sunday everyone. I missed out yesterday. Got home from work and went out to work on my seawall. Good thing because the lake is coming back up, and it rained quite a bit yesterday, and that was my last chance for the year. I crawled into bed about 230 and was out like a light.

So! It's still spitting rain a little and is very gloomy. Gonna be inside stuff today. I just got back from the Awful house so the rest of the day is my own.

Adrian when I first started going to Australia everyone drank VB. I'm not a big beer drinker but I liked that. Now the rage is Carlton Draught, and nobody likes VB. I usually bring a slab home in my luggage.

So, speaking of Oldsmobiles, I'm really wishing I had one to drive. So I have two choices. Buy a cheep car and drive it and do little things to it, or find a nice place to work on my Cutlass and start taking it apart. I've been on the lookout for a decent place but I'm thinking the cheep Olds will materialize before the nice place will.

So that's it for me. I hope they call me for some overtime tonight, the extra dough would be welcome for whatever project I come up with. Everyone have a good day.

Hi guys and Cha-cha!

Bet ya'll wondered if'n I croaked.....

Nope.. I even made 81 years old on the 4th!

What's this crap 'bout takin' down this thread? if your Olds is running, this is the place to be!

I have been spending most of my time playing "caregiver" to My Trophy Wife. We've been to so many neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and pain doctors that I've really lost track of how many. Don't know how many x-rays and MRI's she's had. All of this to no avail. All the great spine surgeons in Spartanburg and Greenville, SC and Hendersonville, NC, have told us that her problem was beyond their training, and told us to seek a facility that trained doctors in this type of surgery. I guess I have to find a place that can help her. I've finally got her back pain under control with some NORCO. For all you non-junkies that's 10 grams of Hydrocodon and a 325 Tylanol. She seems to be tolerating it well.

I spent several hours on Friday to get he into either Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, or Emory Healthcare in Hotlanta. She has been to Mayo before so that helps her to get admitted to their neurosurgery department. I'll work on it next week. Our primary physician knows about all of what's been going on, and she will write to either place to get an admission.

Since I've been taking care of my TW and doing ALL of the cooking AND housework, I have really realized how much my woman has done every day! I had a housekeeper one day and she was great, but my wife didn't like her a little bit! Other old guys have told me that they had the same problem when the hired a maid. My maid came over on Valentines day and handed my wife 2 long-stem roses. Now I can have her again!

I haven't driven Blue Belle all winter. Our winter has been VERY mild. Most days are in the High 50's to mid 60's. Raining today.

I think the original "Good Morning Post" had some 190 pages....

Thanks for listening~~

Mike, We must have procrastination desease in common. No body in der right mind werks on a roof or a sea wall in dis kinda weather.

Pat, Glad you're back sling'in de 48 together. If my house wasn't fallen down, I'd come out dar an hep cha.

Scot, You know of course, I'm drool'in on my keyboard. Dis healthy eat'in is fer de birds.

Adrian, Up til 'bout 2 years ago, I ain't had a beer since college. I guess I don't really like 'good beer" cause all I ever drink is Coors light [whcih most people say is like water.

Enjoy de rest of your weekend Olds friends.

[ In an effort to not upset sum folks, I'm try'in desperately to use periods, commas and de likes.]

Good morning all

Don,

Glad to have you back, sorry to here about your wife, nice to hear that you are willing to step in and do the house thing. Lot of guys walk away from that responsibility. My thoughts are with both of you.

Jamsbo,

It's a damn shame when age causes changes in our eating habits. The hardest thing for me was giving up salt. Onion power, garlic, and all kinds of pepper are my new best friends.

Glad to hear from you Don And Kudos to you for stepping up and being there for your better half Happy Belated Birthday!! Emory and Mayo are two of the best in the world, but keep in mind that if Emory can't figure it out they'll send ya to the Mayo. Just my .02 but I'd opt for J-ville. You have our prayers and well wishes sent your way.

Sorry Jamesbo, I didn't mean to tempt you with all of them bad foods But you do know how us Southerners love to yeat.

Evening All!

Well we made it to page 94, I see! It was a sunny but cold and windy day here today. Only up to about 32 degrees. You could tell the wind was comin out of the north!! I just puttered around most of the day.

Had a nice time at Lin's yesterday. Ice cream cake was soooo good! Didn't get home until 8ish. It was nice to spend some time with Nicole too. I think she's headin for a breakdown or something. Guess Charlie has been going through her phone like Dave used to. She's so paranoid. She says Charlie is now wanting to be more than friends, and with him going through her phone, he's seeing texts from her other guy friends and giving her the third degree. She said she told him that they are not "with" each other, and he has no right to be acting all possesive of her. Lord! I was so worried about her last night when I dropped her off.

I have never seen so much drama, as these kids have in their lives! Good God! I don't understand it at all. I don't think my life was this dramatic when I was a teen..... whatever, I guess.

Don.... Good to hear from you! Sorry to hear about your wife's problems. Will keep you all in my thoughts!

Larry's truck died on him today. He thinks its the fuel pump and of course the pump is in the gas tank. He's known it needs replacing for some time now, but didn't want to get in to it. He had AAA tow the truck home today, and now he's tryin to figure out how to get it over to the shop so he can lift it with the fork lift to work on it. I don't know. I'm sure he'll figure it out tomorrow. Poor truck is sooo rusted underneath, and starting to nickle and dime him, but he can't afford to get another one right now.

Speaking of such things.... sister Jean needs front springs for her 84 Delta 88. Where should I start looking?? I haven't looked anywhere yet.

Well better get off here and get things ready for work in the morning. Monday sure comes fast. Have a good evening all.

Good Morning.
Don, glad to hear from you again and I'm sorry to hear about your predicament too, I'll be pulling for both of you.
I had to do the house thing when my wife had her heart probems and it's a lot of work. I have a new found appreciation for paper plates and wearing clothes more than once if they aren't dirty.
I found out really fast that you don't go grocery shopping when you're hungry too.

I'd be worried too Sandy, the sooner Nicole gets away from that guy the better.
Has Nicole ever considered a career in the military??
My daughter Amanda wanted to join the Air Force but her epilepsy diagnosis put the brakes on that.
They'll take care of her room and board and all the medical stuff.
They will in prison too but being accepted there isn't a real good career or anything else move.

You can finds springs at Rockauto or the local parts store Sandy, finding a place to install them without wanting an arm and a leg to do it is the hard part.
Get out the tow chain and use Tincanio to drag Larry's truck over to his shop?
I'd pay to see that.
I told you that you needed a car hauler but nobody listens to me.
That isn't that hard of a job to do if all goes good, hopefully the brackets and lines aren't too rusty and everything comes apart without too many problems.
I sure wish I had a forklift and a big tractor.

Top of the muffin to you!

Glad you're back, Don. Bless you two and hope relief comes soon.

Sandy where I used to live there were several spring shops around, and they would make springs and install them. They had the specs to all the cars. At that time the prices weren't out of line. Look around and see if you have one of those places near by, or ask at a truck stop. Might be better than paying twice; once for the springs and then for the install.

Jamesbo, what was the name of that comma? Perhaps you could dazzle the other thread with your grammatical knowledge. They were talking about spell check. My spell check goes off if I have two capital letters next to each other.

Haven't heard from Clint for a few days. Hope his folks are doing good.

Off to run around this morning and then to work on the High Saturn. Have a great day everyone!

Morning All!

A crisp pretty morning here. Sun is out and it was in the 20's when I came in to work. It's supposed to get close to 40 today, then rain tomorrow then snow towards the end of the week. Robins are back, Redwing Blackbirds are back!!! They were singing this morning! It's nice to see them, but now all those blackbirds flock to the feeders like they're starving and scare all the other birds. What ya gonna do, lol!

Steve is back..... his rattling heater is on in his office..... temp is about 76 right now. Sandals are on. Fan is on! it's been a quiet phone morning thus far.

Another get together of car friends happening at Bellacino's tonight! I can't wait!!

Larry Jr. came and got Larry this morning. Larry said he's gonna call a tow truck and get the truck over to the shop. I told him I'll come pick him up tonight if he needs me to. I hope the stuff doesn't fight him too bad, but I'm sure it will! Nothing like fighting with rust....

Blue.... Thanks. I'll check Rockauto for springs. I didn't know you could get them from parts stores anymore. I think there's a spring place in Warren - not sure though. I don't know if David was planning to try to put them in himself, or if he was going to take it somewhere. I just know the front end of that car is low......

Jamesbo.... good luck getting some help! I hate waiting around for people...

Well have a great Monday all! Scot has the day off today. It was nice driving to work this morning with hardly any traffic! I loved it!!!!!

Good Afternoon everyone.

Happy Family Day to Canadians (in the provinces that celebrate it). And Happy President's Day to all the Americans.

It's another sunny day here, but only -8C.

I have been working on a few small things for the Cutlass recently. I was rechroming some of the chrome lines on the dash... with a silver sharpie!

Sandy, finding front springs for a Delta 88 is no problem. I had the front ones on my Delta replaced a few years ago. And isn't it nice to get together with other car people during winter?

Jamesbo, good luck with the roof.

Don, good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about your wife, but hopefully one of the specialists can figure it out.

Scot, I am always surprised when I hear mention of Saturday mail. I don't think we have had it here my whole life.

Here's an idea for the nickel per view cost for this thread. Save it all up, then next winter have Good Morning Thread Gathering somewhere sunny and warm for the regular contributors?

Ok, I think I am sort of caught up now.

Have a great day all

cool and wet here another typical NW winter day.

Jamsbo,

you need to set up one of your poke feeds then invite the help. No food or beer until the jobs done. Make sure the smell is available to the workers they will perform at a greater pace.

Well, it finally snowed. A couple of inches but since it's above 0 today and the sun is out, it's melting already. Boy we must be saving a bundle on our snow removal budget.

HA HA right out of a scene from "When Harry Met Sally"

Harry: Men and women can't be friends
Sally: Yes they can
Harry: No they can't
Sally: Well I have friends who are men
Harry: No you don't
Sally: I do so!
Harry: You only think you do
Sally: ???
Harry: There is no way a man can be friends with a woman that he finds attractive - the "sex" thing always get in the way
Sally: So, you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive
Harry: No, he'd pretty much want to nail her too

Mornin all, Sorry I been absent. Seems the weekends are gettin fuller and fuller. Lost the computer yesterday at the shop. Thank you Mr. Gates. Sure wish you could get your turds in a pile.

Well, Dad made it home, and mom is cleared for driving, so looks like that emergency is over. Dad's pretty wore out still, I think he thought it would be smooth sailing, but its been pretty rough so far.

Spose to be windy today and awful tomorrow. Gusts up to 100 I gonna have to wear my heavy boots.

Everyone be safe for fat Tuesday. I'll get on again when I get the puter up and running again.

Morning All!

Cloudy and dark here this morning. Rain and high winds on the way. Temps in the high 30's right now. We're supposed to hit 50 on Thursday!

Ken.... welcome back, with that sense of humor of yours, lol! I've been wondering where you've been.

Larry got his truck fixed yesterday. He had it towed to the shop, and took the bed off of it and was able to get the old fuel pump out and get the new rings, seals, whatever was all rusty on the outside of it, and get the new pump in. Said she fired right up when he was done. Hopefully that was the problem. He rented a car yesterday so he could go runnin for parts. He's taking it back this morning.

Lin's heart group people called me yesterday. She does a 'remote check' of the battery in her defibrillator every month - she has a machine from the defibrillator company at her house that ties into the phone line. They usually call me after every reading they do and let me know what's up. So her battery is getting waaaaaay low now, so she will be having surgery to put in a new one pretty soon. I guess it's not a major thing -she's had them replaced before. But they told me that she is now having episodes of A-fib ( like what I have) and she doesn't know she's having it! She always says she 'can't feel' her heart. Jean is the same way. Me, I can feel and hear mine, lol!! She had 17 episodes since her last reading in January, shortest one was 6 seconds, longest one went 12-1/2 hrs. So that's not a good thing to have A-Fib along with V-tach, which is what killed her to begin with in 1994. I don't think the defibrillator does anything for A-Fib, but I'm not sure. It's supposed to shock her heart if it goes into V-tach and straighten the rhythm out. I don't know. This guy said the doc may put her on Coumadin blood thinner.... that's nasty stuff. Nasty. He asked me if I was on it, and I told him no, just a low dose aspirin. So is Linda. So I reckon they'll be calling me again and letting me know what they're gonna do. I'm not gonna say anything to Linda cause she'll get all freaked out! She remembers scary stuff and then she dwells on it. It's not like it's anything major at this point - the guy didn't seem real worried, just was letting me know.

It sure sucks to be at the end of all this heart trouble in the family...

But onto a better note... we had fun at Bellacino's last night. Nice to see the car friends and get something to eat. There weren't a whole lot of people last night, but it was nice. They're gonna start cruisin at Bellacino's on May 3rd. I can't wait!!!

Haven't heard from Bob at Highland Rd Auto Body about doing my rims.... I'm gonna have to be looking elsewhere I think!

Well you all have a good day!

Afternoon, all.

Two nice days in a row here in the Greater Stockbridge Metropolitan Area. It must be spring. I really should be outside doing something useful.

Went to the junkyard today. There are slim pickings lately. Saw a mid 60s Delmont fastback looking car today. Lots of it still good, lots of it missing. No Cutlasses, a couple Auroras, an original Mini, and a Triumph Stag. Other than that a lot of nuthin'.

Wish I had a group of people to get together with and talk cars. There are lots of guys at work into cars but none of them are organized enough to go to shows or plan an outing. And most of them blame this on, "my wife won't let me," or "my wife has other plans," or some such thing. Yes I think they are men.

I've been busy snaking the grease I cleaned off my differential and another source out of my clogged sewer ma'am.
I think most of it is was from a certain un-named pistachio green with white vinyl roof 1972 Cutlass Supreme's engine that I degreased and painted in my garage.

I'm glad to hear you had fun with with your little "Car Friend" clique at Bellacino's Sandy.
I sure wish I had "Car Friends" .
Was that Rambler there????

I have to go talk to Redgoat, he's been watching all kinds of infomercials on TV and now he's all moody about having low something and that he's lost half of it since he turned age 30.

"No good deed goes unpunished" is now written in blue hopscotch chalk on the wall in my garage right above "It's not a show car!!!".

The cows in the pic are probably all wondering why the girl is so proud to show them off when she only has two of them.
I'm still looking for the waterfall in the other pic.

I'm giving up pickles for Lent.

Morning All

Well I can't get on the internet this morning for some reason, something is up with this damned MiFi... it connects to my laptop, but when I try to bring up my msn homepage or any site, I get the message that is can't open. Won't connect with the Kindle either. Verizon is about to get a very unhappy phone call!!! So I'm typing this on my phone.

Its 43 degrees here and cloudy. Supposed to have rain.

Blue..... excuse me sir!!!! Pistachio green car????? Good thing you're NOT talkin bout Teepo, lol. I don't think she would like that....

Well its really hard to type with these little keys and small screen, so I guess I will keep messing around with the laptop. Have a good day all.

Morning all, raining a little out at the moment, lets hope it sticks around for the next 12 hours so my day at work isn't as hot as the last few days

You are in my thoughts Don, hope your wife gets through whatever it is that is not agreeing with her.

Good luck with that roof Jamesbo, I would help ya but the airfare would probably blow the roof budget out the water

Sandy, hope Nicole can get this Charlie character sorted out before it turns ugly

Good to hear you are still working on the cutlass Paul, how is the job hunting going?

Good to hear your folks are both out of the hospital Clint, lets hope it stays that way

Larry sure is a handy fellow to have around at times Sandy, would have cost a lot more to have someone fix that gas pump for him thats for sure. Maybe he can fix your puter problems too?

Have a good day everyone

Adrian

Nice to hear from ya, Adrian! Well I shut everything off - again - for about the 10th time, after calling Verizon and going through all he told me to do that didn't fix a damned thing, lol, and when I started everything back up, it connected this time! I am happy now! I have 'rest in my *** now' as mother would say.

Nicole said her and Charlie had a talk, and it's all good..... he supposedly is going to keep it just friends. Who knows?

Yep, Larry got his truck all back together and it's running good now. He really needs a new one - the poor old girl is soooo rusted underneath - but just can't afford a payment right now. He's really good and smart about doing things and fixing things. He just lacks in the 'people skills' department! That will never change, there, lol.

It's a beautiful breezy 50 degrees out here now with some weak sun.... I enjoyed my walk! I came back in and one of them had cranked the heat - it's 76 in here - so I had to go put on my exercise t-shirt I keep here, and fan is cranking! I had it on before lunch too. Steve has his heater rattling away in his office! Lord!!!!

Hey everyone!

It's beautiful and 70 here, and if it rains tonight it's all Jamesbo's fault. I didn't see any mention of rain in the forecast. It's car washing day today, but I'm in the house taking it easy because I have to go to work tonight, and I stayed up until 2 last night and got up at 6. Eh, I'll wash cars next week.

Speaking of trucks, I need to take my yellow truck I just bought to the tag office. It didn't come with a title, just a bill of sale, so I have to take it to the office for them to verify the VIN. But I can't drive it on the street till I get a tag, but I can't get a tag until I drive it to the office(on the street). Go figure this place.

Who else has been missing lately we can drag up out of the depths? Anyone ever hear from Wolfman?

Have a good one everybody.

Can you get a temporary operating permint (like the dealers give you when you buy a car) or a VIN inspection .. here in UT the local law enforcement comes to you to do it... and then get it taken care of that way???

You know Jeff come to think of it a Sheriff's deputy will come to the house and fill out a form, and I can take the form into the office. I did that once and the guy got lost. Then he made a big deal out about how my address wasn't right and I was wasting his time. I said, oddly enough I get my mail every day. He muttered something and I said, are you going to look at my truck or not. He filled out the form and burned rubber down the street. He must have been related to the pizza guy that couldn't find my house either.

I'll just drive it to the office and not worry about it. What could I get a ticket for, trying to obey the law? Well, around here anything is possible.

Mike
PS: That should do it for page 94. It didn't stick around too long.
