Mountain Meeting

Hi, Gang. Chilly here, but not really cold.... still dry, too. Supposed to warm up later in week. Gotta' recover today from a food hangover.... did the Big Bird and all the trimmings yesterday; a good time was had by all, and the former "Aint's" managed to keep float 'til the end, which was a lagniappe for all in attendance at the Ponchatoula Plantation.

And speaking of food, if any one of those days around 27 - 29 Dec. works for y'all, it will work for us. Any other takers?

I was thinking lunch, which is served until 5:00 at DH. Does that work fer you guys? (My proposed time would be around 2, but that's flexible, of course.)

Also.... am I correct in assuming this is a couples get-together? (Prolly wouldn't be a healthy idea to suggest my feasting at Dillard House while spousey eats leftovers at home; spousey-->.)

I'll have to make reservations, so let's keep da' ball rolling.... but be forewarned if you've not been there before: don't weigh yourself for at least a week after eating there .... the delicious food just KEEPS COMING... !

Afternoon All!

Can't believe I wasn't on here all weekend!! Glad everyone is well!

We have sun today, but cold out there. It was a cold morning in the house Saturday morning after getting down in the teens Friday night. We should have heat tomorrow!!!!

Larry bought a new hot water tank on Saturday for natural gas. He was reading the book and took the thing out of the box yesterday. This one has some kind of electrical box on top of it, so he got to looking in the closet where our tank is, and there is a light up in the ceiling - just a bulb kinda hanging there. I never noticed it before. So he had to get into all those old dry funky looking wires and test them, and cuss because they had no boxes in there for wiring like there should have been and yadda yadda yadda..... So off to Home Depot he went and came back with conduit and boxes and he ran new wiring and all that so it's nice and safe now!!

Now if he can get the hot water tank up and running without blowing us up tomorrow, all will be well! Dominion is supposed to come between 9 and noon tomorrow with the meter. I can't wait to have heat!!!

I spent Saturday making fudge and baking cookies. I have 2 more kinds of cookies to make yet, which I'll probably do tomorrow night, and 1 batch of fudge to cut up tonight and put into the tin. Mailed the cards this morning on the way to work. I'm pretty much ready.

It's slow and quiet today at work. Brian is going on sales calls to Kentucky Wed., so he'll be out the rest of the week. I'm taking a 1/2 day off this Friday, and I'm taking off on Monday. Going to go up and help Linda wrap her stuff. That'll be a project, lol.

Well you all have a great Monday!

Morning All!

Cool and crisp here again. Temps in the 20's this morning but we have some sun! We're supposed to get warmer and rain tomorrow and Thursday. Temps close to 60 on Thursday!! But cooling off again for the weekend. I'm liking this weather so far! Wish it would stay like this. We don't need feet of snow, lol!

Last year today, we were having one heck of a blizzard. People are calling in to the radio station I'm listening to and remembering, lol.

Well Larry stayed home today so hopefully all the people will show up to do what they have to do and we will have gas and heat in the house by tonight! It was 58 in there when I got up this morning. I'm really tired of being cold.

I made peanut butter blossom cookies last night. They're my favorites, lol, with the hershey kiss in the middle! Yummmmmm.... Cut up that other cookie sheet of nutty fudge and got it in the tin. I'm done with fudge now! Citcapp.... wish I could send ya some!

Jamesbo..... that menu sounds good! My cholesterol went up about 100 points just reading it, lol! I would eat that southern cooking!!! Wish I could join ya! Maybe I could make a flight in and out, lol! I'd love to meet you guys!

Well you all have a great day!!

Damn Jamsbo,

looked at that menu and started the morning hungry, off to the fridge I go. Went to my doctors yesterday and he is after me to lose some pounds, this from a guy who is 6' tall and goes at maybe 135 (eats nothing but salads I guess). I am 6' and weigh in at 205. I just can't win just love food to much. Guess I'll just have to live with his whining at me.

Have a great day all

Sorry you didn't your Fix this week Jamesbo.

Good to hear from you Bulldog. Wishing you the best.

Pat, I try to stay away from those fellers. They don't seem to ever have very good news. They are more of a downer than your mechanic.

Nice to hear from you Bulldog, your missing all the fun. The saga part two of Sandy and heat is almost over, now we'll start hearing about poor Teepo stuck in the garage unit spring and all the snow stories. Stay tuned for the next adventure

Morning All!

Aren't you glad you have me to tease, lol! You guys crack me up!!!

Well yes........ WE HAVE HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a wonderful thing! It was so strange to hear the furnace kick on and run last night, lol! All is working as it should. Larry got the new hot water tank in without any major issues. It's louder than the propane one was when it's heating the water. I guess natural gas is heavier than propane, they said, so it sounds louder.

Larry disconnected the lines from the propane tank in the yard. Now he has to write a letter to Amerigas and tell them to come get the tank in the Spring. They could never get a truck back there now as wet as it is. It would sink big time!!

I made another batch of chocolate chip cookies last night. Now just have the sugar cookies to do! I'm tired of smelling sugar and chocolate, lol!

Brian is out making his sales calls in the Kentucky area the rest of the week, so it's nice and quiet in here. No whining or complaining. Or coughing and gagging..... he has another friggin sinus infection! That guy gets every germ that comes along, I swear. I was feeling better this week, but got real congested again yesterday so I started taking Comtrex again. I'm tired of this crap! I sprayed and wiped the heck out of Brian's area this morning before I touched anything of his!!

Citcapp..... don't get me started whinin about Teepo, lol!

Clint.... nice to hear from ya!

Jamesbo..... hope you have a good golf day!

have a good one all!!

Good Day All,

I have been feeling some better lately, although I am still losing weight. I do have a Doctors appointment tomorrow. They are going to put a camera down my throat to look at my stomach. And then on Monday, I have to go for a full body C.T. Scan.

Sandy, Glad to hear that you finally have heat. Now you can get back to whining about the weather and Teepo being parked

Jamesbo, Do you offer a discount if I make a Multi purchase of the excused absence permits ?

CQR, Thank you for the best wishes. I think I can use all of them I can get.

citcapp, I will try to keep up with the latest adventure. But should I fall behind, then I leave it up to you to poke fun at Sandy for me where you think its needed.

Have a Great Day All.

Hi, Gang... almost warm here right now, and the sun has actually appeared! I forgot what it was like.... it's be hovering around 70 right now, and bright as Donny Osmond's smile.... maybe I'll ride the Yamaha in tomorrow, since wiffey has dentist app't and won't be taking the Toyota of Love in w/ me tomorrow. Need to check on chances of rain before I commit.
Been doing about an hour of work a night on my 4-post lift setup... man, that's some kinda' job to do solo. I at least have it down mentally... I had a bunch of questions along the way and the tech guy walked me thru a couple steps .... not to mention a couple parts damaged in transit and some others missing! (Instructions sucked, of course....)
But things get done slowly around here anyway, and I'm patient. It will be great when done and the fulfillment of a longtime dream!
Hasta banana....

Good evening everyone.

The weather here has been interesting the last couple of days. We have had sun, rain and last night it was quite foggy. The temperature has been staying just above freezing and tomorrow they are predicting a high of 10C/50F. I can't believe it is going to be 10C in mid-December in Ottawa. The news is telling us not to get too excited about a white Christmas this year.

Keeping busy studying. Not really doing anything else.

Ken, any snow sticking around out west yet?

Sandy, congratulations on the heat and hot water.

Bee-Oh-Pee, good luck with the lift.

Glad to hear you are feeling better Bulldog and I hope it lasts.

Morning, Nuther cold day (40) on the horizon. Not warm enough to melt much of this white stiff. Usually the snow is gone in a few days and we wait for the next storm this time of year. I think this stuff will be here for a while. So much for using global warming to my advantage.

Hope everyone has a good Thursday.

Morning All!

Love you too Jamesbo!

Well it's warm here this morning, at 54 degrees, and it's raining pretty good. Temps went up all last evening. I love those winds from the South and Southwest!! Of course it's going to cool off towards evening cause a cold front is coming through. Still not calling for any snow, thank God!!! I'm with you Jamesbo. I'm gonna enjoy the warmer temps while they last, lol! Last year at this time we had snow a$$hole deep to a 10 ft. Indian!! Of course the ground is sooooo soaked now from all the rain, it's hard to keep the yard decorations standing straight. The wind blows and everything leans, lol!!

Another quiet day in here. I have to go out at lunch time to the bank, and want to go to Advance Auto and get my nephew a gift card. Have to go into Giant Eagle for a couple things too. I hope the rain lets up by noon.

Larry Jr. is bringing his daughter Elyse over tonight cause it's her 2nd birthday. Jr's soon to be ex wife Alison, had a birthday party for her last Sunday at her apartment, which I went to. I'm not going to shun Alison just cause her and Jr. are getting divorced. He's the one who asked for the divorce. I don't know how she lived with him as long as she did, myself!! The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, lol..... So the kid will probably end up having 2 birthday parties every year it seems.

Well you all have a good day! Stay warm and dry!!!!

LOL!! Yeah as I was backing out the drive this morning, I noticed one deer really listin to the left, lol! Gotta straighten him up when I get home tonight.

Boy is it nice outside!!! I did my running around, then came back here and walked before I ate lunch. It's 59 degrees and the rain stopped. The SUN even peeked out a couple times! Very windy, but love those breezes from the South for they are warm, lol!

Morning all. Doesn't CO prohibit religious discussions Sandy?

I sure would like to see 59 degrees. Were supposed to get to a balmy 45 today. Still lots of snow on the ground.

The kid is done with school for now. She almost got everything caught up with her 'absence'. She looks to still be on track for graduation next May. Sure wish her and her mother could do a better job getting along.

Well, Its friday and I have a lot to do. hope everyone has a great day and a good weekend.

Hey good folks.... Jamesbo, man, dat glassa' wine is somepin' like my grandfather would have posted! (Worst part: I kept trying to make it "list" with my mouse!!! )

It finally dried out down here... sun's out real good today... should be in mid-70s about now. It was wet pretty much all day yessa-day, which precluded my riding the bikey in.

Y'all pass a good weekend, cher! I'm going to get as close to finishing that lift as humanly possible.

Late Morning All!

Cloudy and cold here today. In the 30's. Yesterday was sooooo nice, even if it was kinda rainy.

I'm out of here at noon today!!! Heading to Macedonia to get some things done. It's been such a nice 3 days without Brian in here, lol. I stay much busier when one of the guys are out. Both Steve and I are off Monday too, so it will only be Brian and Clay here. Hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. Time sure does fly!

Clint..... glad things are improving with your daughter somewhat! I know what it's like with Nicole and Larry not getting along. He's just down right rude to her, and it really hurts her, and she just pretends it doesn't bother her. So she doesn't come around much, and I really miss her. I've been torn between them for years. It's really stressful. I hope your wife and daughter can bridge the gap. It will be better all around.

I got a letter from State Farm yesterday...... seems they finally found out about Nicole's accident last December, and the rates are going up on the Intrigue. I sent an email to our agent asking how much they were going up so I'm waiting to hear from her. I knew they'd find that accident sooner or later. Hope the price increase isn't too much!! I've got until February before it's due, so I can save, I hope.

Nicole has to go to the dentist tomorrow for her 6 month check up. She has a top wisdom tooth that came in this summer that's really been irritating the inside of her cheek, so I don't know if it's gonna have to come out or what. She's also complaining of her jaw like locking up sometimes on the other side. That happens to me occasionally too, and I don't know why. I know it hurts like heck though. So who knows?? I just know it's gonna cost me. No dental insurance, of course. Always around the holidays, ya know?? So we have to go tomorrow at noon.

Where's Scot been??? I know this is a busy time for the post office, now, but I miss him!! I could sure use some of those Georgia peaches right about now, lol!!!!!

Haven't heard from Wolfie in like forever. Hope he is ok.

Well you all have a great Friday and hopefully I'll be able to get on here some over the weekend!!

Looks like I have been overdue for a drop-in to here...
Just finished my pizza and beer, now feeling very lazy - again.

It has been cold here, for TX standards. In the 30's at night and 50s by day.
Got the yard cleaned up again yesterday - another 100 gallon trash bin of leaves. I fill up a bin each week and this is where all my trees are a pain. However, during summer, they are great for shade. So now only half of all the trees still have leaves to drop soon. Around here, the lawn mower never really gets put away...

Missed out on our Christmas light cruise yesterday as the lady friend has a cold and I have half a cold. Lady has no heater right now, so did not want us to get worse. Maybe tonight or next weekend.....

Still need to finish Christmas shopping this week - yech. Getting to hate that.
This coming Friday I will take half a day off and take Pristine (the '86 CS) on her annual 230 mile trip to the lake and back. Gotta swap out the year-old gas in her and hit the liquor stores there, too... It has always been a fun winter drive.

Sandy - glad you got heat and hot water. Wonderful creature comforts, eh? Welcome to the 21 century!
Another modern convenience you might like are "flush toilets." You do your business in them indoors and when done, flick the silver handle and its gone in a "foosh"!
Oh - looking forward to some fudge int he PM box soon...

Afternoon All!

Glad to be here Jamesbo! Glad to hear Sandy has heat as well.

Wow Rob Texas has had some weather this year, from what I hear they have had just about every extreme there is. And not to mention the livestock wow, such a shame. Something like 600,000 head of cattle perished due to the drought. Too bad I cannot deliver hay out there. I know there is a fortune to be made out there, but to get it there from here wouldn't be feasible due to the cost of fuel to get it there.

Well I guess I will go relax now that I am home from work.

Yall have a good one

Scot

Morning all, the weather has been a bit cloudy but no rain for a few days Temps around 85F

Good to hear you have heat and hot water now Sandy, I'm sure you are happy about that. I had a wisdom tooth pulled out last year and my other one 2 years before that, I only got two top ones thankfully

Glad to hear your daughter is doing well Clint, not so much the rift between her and her mother

Looks like the PO is keeping you busy Scot, probably a welcome change

Good luck with the hoist John. A little rain shouldn't stop you riding your bike I ride mine the whole year here, rain, hail or shine

They let you back on the course yet Jamesbo to smack whitey around?

Time to get ready for work, will be nice when xmas comes around just so I get a break from work lol

Take care ya'll

Adrian

Evenin All!

Well we had about an inch and a half of snow yesterday. It was a cold yucky day. Today was better - cloudy but in the 30's. It's supposed to be decent for the first half of the week anyhow and go up to the 50's.

I didn't have time to get on here yesterday. Did some cleaning and laundry. Went with Nicole to the dentist. Yep..... the top wisdoms have to come out. I figured. She gave me the names of 3 oral surgeons to call. So after the first of the year I'll call around and Nicole can go for consultations. Lord, that's gonna cost me!! I'm running on broke right now, so it's gonna have to wait.

Got home from that and then I went up to Jean's and we went to the cemetery and decorated the graves for Christmas. It was snowin and windy and cold. My fingers froze!! Got home from there around 6:00 and made 2 batches of sugar cookies. Didn't roll em and cut em out this year. Just made them round.

Today we iced the cookies. Got my Olds calendars put into big envelopes to mail to a few people and spent the rest of the day wrapping stuff and finishing laundry. I put together the "poor boxes", lol. We buy food and taxable stuff for the family members who don't have much money. My mom called them poor boxes, lol. She used to look forward to hers every year. It helps people out anyhow.

Nicole and Dave moved to their new house in Westlake yesterday. I worry about her inexperience driving in all that traffic on 271 and 480. That's why I don't go towards Cleveland. Those people drive like maniacs!! It scares me.

So there seems to be a little problem with our furnace. Larry's gonna call them tomorrow. It will kick on, then you can hear the gas and hear it light, but then it will go out. A few seconds later it tries again. Larry said the service guy told him natural gas is "dirtier" than propane, so there's some kind of sensor for the flame that gets 'dirty' and it can't sense the flame, and the guy said Larry might have to clean it if it keeps doing it. The service guy cleaned it and said it should be good for a year...... well it's only been 4 days and it's doing it. So they better get out here and not charge us, and fix the damned thing! It may be something besides that sensor - will have to see what they say. It started doing it Friday night. Larry noticed it about 3 am. He's disgusted with the whole thing. Seems everything hits us around Christmas, and he gets sooooo stressed out. He's having trouble with the new guys he hired too. One of them scrapped some pieces for one of Larry's best customers twice! That's not a good thing. It costs us money.

I'm off tomorrow and heading to Linda's to help her wrap her gifts. I'll end up doing them all, lol. She's not much help!!

Got an email on Friday from Bellacino's, and they are opening up the back room over there for us Cruiser's tomorrow night for a little get together!! I'm really looking forward to going! I hope a lot of people show up. It will be nice to see my friends!!

Scot.... Good to hear from you! You too Adrian!!

Rob.... you're bein a shi*, lol! You'll get snowman poop instead of fudge, lol!

Well I'm tired, so I'll talk to ya tomorrow.

Morning all. Start of he final week of work for me. Well not exactly. I'll be shuttin the shop down next week, but we are getting rid of our oil drums and putting in tanks instead. lots of rearranging to do. I don't have the space, but I don't really have much of a choice. I'm going thru it too fast to keep switching out barrels. Its really a shame that I can buy oil cheaper at 'Wallyworld' Than I can from my distributor in bulk.

Scot The Gubmint bought a lot of hay from Colorado and had it shipped to Texas. That has caused a real shortage around here. Now hay around here is almost too expensive to buy. The Mrs. is selling 60# bales of premium for $13-15 a bale, and some places here are charging upwards of $26 a bale delivered. Its crazy.

Adrian, Thank you.

Have a great day everyone.

I'll post the recipe this afternoon. Have fun with the golf.

Sandy,

Ask the furnace guy if he changed the orifice of the furnace to one for natural gas I have been told by furnace guys that they are different. Just a thought
