U of M womens won toady, going good for the maize and blue.
I love to see all the Michigan teams do well, BUT, enough $'s can buy ya some awfully great players. I'll continue watching and enjoying, just disappointed it's gotten to the point it has. It's not really Collegiate Sports anymore, just a glamorous Minor Leagues!
Set another record high in StL this afternoon at 89°F! Super windy right now with sustained 20 - 25mph winds as the cold front moves in. Supposed to drop into the low 40's overnight, almost a 50° swing!
I wanted (but forgot) to mention yesterday LeBron James played his 1612th game which is now the new NBA record for most games played by an NBA player previously held by Robert Parish (1611 games). I loved watching Parish - what a work horse.

Tee time 9am tomorrow.
Quite the accomplishment by LeBron and Parish. I love to hear longevity records. Parish was a work horse, as was Dave Cowens before him, and although not a Center, so was Kevin McHale. I absolutely loved those Celtic teams through the 60's, 70's, and early 80's. The Celtics vs Lakers match-ups in the early 80's with Bird and Magic were something special!
I saw the NCAA Frozen Four National Chammpionship Selection Show. Michigan, Michigan State, and Western Michigan all got #1 Seeds in 3 of the 4 Regions. North Dakota received the other #1 Seed. Unusual that there were no #1 Seeds from any of the big Eastern hockey universities?

Unusual or not? Seems I’ve seen it happen more than I can recall over the years.

I might be talking out of my ****, I'd have to look it up but I just seem to recall Boston College or Boston University often being ranked near the Top. Maybe not always a #1 Seed but highly ranked in the 16 Team Tournament.
I think I have some bad WiFi buffering mojo going on between the router &/or modem and my boob tube - which are in opposite rooms separated by a very thick wall. I might live with for a bit but it was happening on Spectrum before Brightspeed, as well. I might run a direct Ethernet cable through the wall and forget about any notions of buffering. It can be annoying.
John - The work trip sounds pretty brutal when you combine the weather and the fact you weren't feeling all that great. I bet you're glad to be home.
All those new attachments sound great. You're really set-up great now! I've lost the bubble, what is the current plan/timetable for moving to your new place? Are there major renovations or improvements you want to make to the new place before making the move?
A couple years. Going to build a lot before moving.

In my current role, I am in what is basically a planning department for my equipment type. So, I either go to the training facility to teach, go to the headquarters for meeting and planning, or go to a plant to benchmark and site visit. Supposedly, my part of the group is done with the station construction and install, that's for the local equipment groups, but they need a lot of help. We plan, order parts, and build computer stations that talk to the cars as they go by. 20 years ago, there was 1 station on the line, now there are 10. Some lines have an A and a B lane, so that doubles those stations, and every station has a main and a backup computer. Plus, about 12 repair tablets, and 3 diagnostic laptops. Add all that together, and my home plant has 80 or so station, tablet, laptop, and server PCs when it's a two line plant.
I have an equipment cage I lock. People rarely cut the chain for what should be emergencies only. Of those 80 stations, something is always being broken or messed with, but I am about third level support so most gets fixed by others.

Yes, so, I need to make a decision.
Building 0, the house, does not exist. It will be built.
Building 1, the showroom, is currently a berm house. It will be modified.
Building 2 is a large barn.
Building 3 is a 4 bay shop.
What I do with 2 and 3 remains to be seen. I need a good shop. Do I add onto Building 3 and have a large shop and put the tractor stuff in the barn? Do I build a new shop, put the tractor stuff in the old shop, and ignore the barn? I need barn advice. Maybe I'll look up barn rebuilders.

John - I'm not really sure what you mean here? Do I have this right?
"Building 0" - Does not exist yet. You will build a new house that will be your residence.
"Building 1" - The current home on the property is a berm house that will be modified into "the showroom". Does that mean it will house your classic car collection?
"Buildings 2 & 3" - An existing barn and a 4 bay shop will be updated/modified to meet your other storage needs.

Thanks, it's nice you have so many options for considerable storage!
It is. All of them will cost money, and, sometimes you wonder what's the point when it's just you out there, but what the hell else will I do in retirement?
John - My perception is you're a well organized person & likely excited about planning out future prospects/developments for the next/new homestead. I'll toss in my unsolicited two cents.
Regardless which building goes up first. I'd suggest you evaluate current utilities (electrical, water, sewage, gas, etc.) and future utilities & their locations, & formulate a modest design plan based on utilities & their locations at the earliest of stages (e.g. while you cruise about manicuring the Pondersosa w/ the Ventrac) e.g. outdoor/indoor building sink(s), toilet(s) [plumbing], electrical main and/or sub-panels (below/above ground) & concrete flooring. I envy your next set of plans, have fun w/ it all. Designing the ground level infrastructure should be fun - I hope it is for you.

Maybe I'll get a dog.
John - A dog's a great choice for company, but you really need to find the right gal to share that beautiful place with if that's anything you still have the desire for? The right one's out there for ya, you just have to do a little searching and get out more. I didn't find the right one until after I was over 50, plus I had learned alot from prior mistakes. Hope you aren't offended by my interjecting my 2-cents on a personal matter, I just believe the right gal is out there for ya!
I sprayed off the front porch yesterday evening removing buckets of accumulated yellow snow - it was a pleasant 65°F, limited wind. A frontal system started to approach late evening after I placed my trash bin to curbside & the winds went to 25 mph with 42°F temps. Trash was picked up this morning ~7 am after I had to twice set the trash bin back upright as the wind was continually knocking it over. Yellow snow again accumulating on front porch.
A tad cooler this morning than the last couple days. But it's still sunny and no rain so I don't mind. It's cold in the shop this morning.
John are you planning to have all your buildings arranged in a compound, or complex? Or just put wherever? I wish I had the space to do something like that. Around me, acreage is prohibitively expensive, so I'd have to be an hour plus from work and I'm not doing that.
Tiger has been having trouble with his ears. He digs at them, shakes his head all the time, but won't let me try to clean them out or massage them. So we're going to the vet this afternoon after work. Maybe she'll have an idea. I think his ears hurt and he doesn't know what to do about it. I was supposed to get a call from my attorney this afternoon and Mom said, why don't you take Tiger on Wednesday. I said, Tiger comes first. I called the attorney and told him we can talk later this week.
So tell me if this is nutty. Over the years I've bought two cars from a friend of mine. These days, I'm pretty much done with her and I want to sell the two cars. I had considered parting them, I don't have a lot in them but they are both decent cars. I'm worried that I wouldn't want to use the parts on the cars I'd get to replace them. I have some odd ideas sometimes. It makes sense to me, though.

Mike - It doesn't sound nutty to me. If you think you're never going to use them, sell them or get rid of them. Easier said than done I know because Dawn and I are both packrats, me more so than her. I'm horrible about holding on to $hit I'll never use again. I need to take my own advice!
Well thanks Chris, it isn't that I wouldn't use these cars, it's that this person I got them from has done me wrong and has no intention of making things right, and when I see them my blood boils. So the plan is to sell them and then get two more just like them. But from someone different!
If I parted them out and used some parts, I could probably talk myself into being okay with it because it would be like a dig, heh heh look what happened to your cars!
^x2^
...or, bury them both in a ditch. You've spoken about this evil woman numerous times. Get rid of anything you have associated with this evil wench.

A wonderful departing gift for someone such as this historic (past friend) is to invite her over for soup, a meal or whatever (meet her somewhere) then add ~ 6 tablets of ground up Ex Lax to her meal.

K'doos Myke
Tiger may have a piece or so of dirt in his ear-p trap. This happens with stuff on the paws falling into the canal sometimes while itching. Thinking out loud, the pet supply places have an easy flush quick dry solution to help. Easy is said than done if he wont sit still.
Take a look at the URL and see if it could apply to Tiger. Like said Kudos for helping and putting Tiger on top of the to do ....
Chris what I was saying was that would be the ultimate insult to a decent car, get it parted out and picked apart. But you're right, there's no good reason to pull apart a good car.
Greg that's hilarious, and fitting for this person. Dan I think you are right. I can't stand to look at them. Norm that's gold(or maybe bronze... yuck).
Keith that was a good video. Once upon a time Tiger had an ear infection and the vet suggested the same thing. She demonstrated in the office, and Tiger was all over the place, growling, just not having it. The dr. gave up mid demonstration and said, well you get the idea. I said, I'm not going to do that. If he's this upset in the office, what will he be at home? I'm not putting either one of us through that. She just shrugged. I never saw her again so she must have pissed more than just me off.
So the vet visit was a success. The tech did a swab of both ears and the doctor looked at them and came in and said, bacterial yeast infection. Gave me some drops and said 8 drops each ear for 10 days. This doctor is very pleasant, down to earth, and she's the only one I'll see when we go in.
Don't know what the day has in store yet, but we have several wheels ready to go that were done last night, and the supply rail is full. Barring anything breaking down we should have a good day.
Time for a quick snack before things get going. Hope everyone has a good day. We're on the hump.
I purchased my building from Olympia Steel Buildings (2009).
Dimensions: 30'W x 40'L x 14'7"H (center; 14'0"H side walls) (145 mph wind speed)
Concrete pad (contract): $6500
Building (three windows, one entrance door) (including freight): $15,450
Insulated Overhead Garage Doors x2 (wind speed 135 mph) w/ windows (installed [contract]-non-electric): x1 @ 13'H x 10'W ($2200); x1 @ 8'H x 7'W ($1100): $3300
Electrical (I installed all electrical): $2200
General Contractor Crew (Contract) (close friend): $4,000 Equipment Rentals: $1,000
Total Cost: $32,450 (~$27/sq.ft)
Jim - I noted they have a couple new buildings on sale & one which I think fits your (concrete) pad. Sometimes buildings are designed & built out, then a project falls through for whatever reason. Anyways, look at the Sale Buildings page:

Mike - Thanks, I understand now. It wasn't what you wrote, it was how I was reading it.
Glad you had a decent Vet and got some medicine for Tiger! 👍
Apparently, I have a sinus infection likely a cold, woke up w/ 'The Crud'. 😫😫😫
Gosh darn Norm, out of the frying pan and into the fire, I really feel for ya! Are ya gonna call your Doc and see if they'll get you in or call something in for you? Hope you feel better soon.

Chris - I haven't had Influenza in maybe 30-40 yrs; and, this doesn't feel like Influenza, and the tests I took for both A&B were negative. I really haven't had a sinus cold in many years, as well - maybe once ~10 yrs ago. The thing I've noticed over the years as I age is my body responds differently these days as I'm aging. Feelings of general malaise present quite differently than when I was younger. This bout has been what I can gather a very, very slow & mild chronic sinus infection I haven't been able to put a handle on for maybe the past two months - nothing warranting a trip to my 1° phys. or ER. Then, that BANG of sinusitis about one week ago, followed w/ antihistamines & now appears it's "broken" into a cold (sinus infection) of some type (w/ an earache).
I have an 8:30am app't tomorrow w/ my 1° phys. I suspect he'll likely prescribe an antibiotic. Sinusitis is tough to deal with. Viral? Antibiotics provide no benefit. Bacterial? Yes. The thing is unless you're "severe" with other comorbidities (I have none), no one takes swabs to have them analyzed for either virus or bacteria (that would be something done if you're in an ER setting or bed ridden) - takes lots of time, effort, etc. Add to it, many colds develop from an "initial" viral infection followed by a bacterial infection - it's a tough game to get right. A virus attacks then sets up a mucus pathway for bacteria to invade. You're right - out of the frying pan & into the fire.
Norm, lots of vitamin D and zinc. Eat cashews. Go stand outside in the sun with your shirt off, if it's warm enough. Or, eat the cashews in the sun. Feel better. Being sick sucks.
